God saved one secondary school boy yesterday. They were three crossing the road. A vespa bike hit the leg of one of the boys.

The loud sound was what caught my attention.

Oddly, the man who hit the student never bothered to look back.

Atlas9:

Most of them have registered the sim in their own names and they go through the motions of taking your picture and fingerprints after which they tell you you have been registered.
Use Truecaller for the new sim and you never see your own name, but the name of the seller.

That's not how truecaller works. Truecaller does not have access to NCC, mtn, glo... portal or database.

When you install truecaller on your phone, it uploads all phone numbers on your contacts app - along with the names you saved them with.

The same happens with other phones with truecaller installed.

If 100 people save 08041941901 with the name Devil. And 20 people save the same number as Angel, then truecaller will show the name Devil.

So the more you use the line, the higher the chance that it'll outnumber and override the old name in truecaller.
Phones / Re: Recycled SIM Cards Flood Streets, Markets by vezycash(m): 7:20am On Dec 07, 2020
People are just reacting over nothing.

It's normal for phone numbers to be recycled. It happens every where in the world.

A sim card will become inactive, stop working if not put inside a phone after 3 months.

If the owner doesn't act quickly, they'll offer the number for sale.

Phone numbers are recycled after some month of inactivity, IP addresses are reassigned in minutes.

The only issue is our police who seem not to understand that phone numbers aren't anybody's private property.

We are only renting the numbers - not buying them. Network providers pay billions of naira for these numbers - too much money to leave them unused.

Programming / Re: PHP Programmers, Please I Am Cofused With This Code by vezycash(m): 3:00pm On Oct 18, 2020
I've not done php in over 10 years but your issue is most likely in the foreach loop. Doesn't look right to me.

foreach($yourAarray as $val){
...
}

$val is not an array / should not be an array. It's a single item from $yourArray array.
Also $val is not a variable declared elsewhere. It's created only inside the foreach loop.

Run this example code so you'll understand it better

$colors = array("red", "green", "blue", "yellow" ) //put semi colon here. Nairaland changes it to emoji

$count = 0;

foreach ($colors as $value) {
echo "$value array[$count]<br>";
count++;
}

Google php foreach. I'd post a link but nairaland bot randomly deletes posts containing links.

Please gurus in the house, I need help.

Can you look front, left and right at the same time? That's what learning html, css and javascript in parallel feels like for a total beginner. So...

Learn your python jeje. It's easier to transition from C and C++ to javascript than from python to javascript. So, the advice to learn C is not such a bad idea. However python's fine. Python 3 is very easy to learn. Esp if you have the right IDE - download "Mu Code" should make ur life easier.

Also next time you're asking for help, be specific. Even if 100 things are confusing you, ask just one question mention a ultra specific thing ur having issues with.

It can be as little as how to setup the python environment, or how to print to screen or a file.

After that, thank peeps and ask your next question.

You'll get high quality help faster.

A woman selling food was chased around for manufactured reasons. I've not lived in south Africa but from what I've read online they have something in common with ghanians - laziness, terrible business attitude. Nigerians who run businesses in Ghana easily attract not only Nigerians but their own people because of common business sense.

Here, people will use juju to disrupt competitors there, they use council, police who manufacture reasons for disrupting Nigerian businesses.

Envy of legitimate Nigerian business people is real.

Wowww... I know Grace High School to be a very good school... Something is not right somewhere.

Schools have been closed for months. Yet Lagos State been made schools pay annual dues that are calculated per enrolled student or pupil.

Pupils that aren't guaranteed to return. Many at least in my area have dropped schools for lessons.

They've asked for a crazy amount of water taps, beds... I know at least two school owners that had to borrow to meet the reopening requirements.

The last term didn't finish. So for small schools, at least half the school fees is now story for the gods. And many of those debtors won't return.

People don't know the stupid conditions, fines, levies Lagos State have made private schools go through for reopening.

If ogun state can ask for 25k, Lagos own would be worse.

7. TV fees
8. National association of private school dues
9. Advertising fees for busses, sign boards
10. Mandatory Funimation fees paid every term to local government
11. Students who owe and jump schools
12. Stupid Lagos State who approve establishment of new schools right in front of another school despite the law mandating a minimum distance between schools.
13. There is a per student fee
14. Fire extinguisher hustlers
15. Waste basket peddlers from government

Waec inspector settlements (or they write stupid report claiming massive exam malpractice against the school)

...and many more

Did the school owners get school fees from students , no
That's the difference between government schools and private ,
So owners should pay from their pockets ?
That's one of disadvantages of teaching in private schools

You know Lagos State is still collecting dues from private school despite the lockdown?

Phones / Re: Why You Should Stop Using MTN Midnight Data by vezycash(m): 12:33pm On Jun 17, 2020
Olamyyde:
Mtn is a disgrace.

The worst part is the 500mb midnight plan is actually 420mb. After you use 360mb, mtn will automatically disconnect your network and throttle the speed. So you will have to connect and disconnect to use the remaining 60mb.

They started this behavior after APC introduced one stupid tax like that. (Early this year or late last year).

I'm able to use 480mb. Even if it disconnects, I'll turn my data off and ON multiple times until I get the, "used up night plan" SMS.

The last 20mb is fake. It's approximately 5mb.

GeoAfrikana:

I lost almost not less than 300mb data.

The way they deduct the data is ambiguous. .

No mind them. I'm used to it. That's why I have two dedicated sim cards for night browsing.

They typically don't touch your normal data until you get an SMS alert announcing that you've used 430mb. At that point, the night browsing will cease.

On a sim card without data sub, it will stop browsing for a while or until you toggle your data connection.

However, on SIMs with data sub, it'll just switch over.

Anyway, Dial *121# - check out the data offerings there.

After the war they have lost everything so Awolowo decided to help them with 20 pounds each to start their lives again.

Awolowo's words doesn't match your claim.

"I laid down the principle that all those who had savings in the banks on the eve of the declaration of the Biafran war or Biafra, will get their money back if they could satisfy us that they had the savings there, or the money there. Unfortunately, all the banks’s books had been burnt, and many of the people who had savings there didn’t have their saving books or their last statement of account..."

So it wasn't a matter of charity to start their lives as you say. But a matter of records - if they were burnt by the war or arson to destroy the records like the office that conveniently caught fire in Abuja the night after they were asked to provide records of covid 19 paliatives disbursement.

Part of reasons history was abolished in schools. We have always been our own enemies.

Main reason was the atrocities they did to trigger the civil war, those they did during the war. And immediately after the war.

After the war, for example, igbos with bank account were given 20 pounds even if the person had thousands in the account before the war.

That's why many igbos didn't use banks till the late 90s. One millionaire alaba spare parts dealer i knew who died in 98 kept her money under the rug in her parlor.
