somebody here paid online with their nigerian card. so try and pay online. If you have a foreign US card then you can pay at the airport. If the naira card doesnt work, then look for someone who has a dollar card to help you pay. i heard they could even allow you go home but they will seize baby passport and you come back to pick it when you pay.

Well said sis. Pls for people who paid VOA fees online, how can one upload baby's picture.please is there way out of this pix upload thing because i have tried all i can? Or am i doing the wrong thing?Pls ls help guys!

[qquote author=KaraDanvers post=73512375] I am still trying to get a hang on it myself. I've sent an email with the following information

The Comptroller General
Nigeria Immigration Service
Nigeria Immigration Service Head Quarters
Abuja.

APPLICATION FOR VISA ON ARRIVAL

I wish to apply for Visa on Arrival for my infant son. His details are as stated below:

Name:

Passport number:

Address:

Date of Arrival:

Port of Entry:

Airline:

Please find required documents attached: His passport bio, my passport bio, hubby's passport bio, travel itinerary.

I've still not gotten any acknowledgement and this is the 2nd time I've sent this mail. I called and they said I still have plenty time but the lack of mail acknowledgement troubling. Does it take up to 24hrs to get an acknowledgement?

Thanks Sis.God bless you!

Hello everyone,
For those that are still in the US with their newborn LO. Congratulations. This information is for you.
After you apply for visa on arrival for your child, you have to go to Nigeria immigration service portal and pay online for the VOA.Cash payment is no longer accepted. You have to generate an application ID and a reference number which you can then use for online payment and then print your receipt. You pay with a US bank card.
When you get to Nigeria, you will have to present your VOA approval letter, evidence of payment and LO passport.
If you don't pay online before u get to the airport in Nigeria, then you have to go to a cyber cafe in the airport and generate the reference no for 5k or use your phone if u have data. Then pray that your card payments should not be declined, else they will hold your LO passport and u have to go back to the airport another day to make payment and collect the passport.
The portal is portal.immigration.gov.ng
Then go to visa on arrival and fill your LO name as applicant.
Please kindly ask your questions on the forum if you have any. Thanks

hello everyone

currently in Houston.

I flew Air France at 35 weeks 4 days. flight was uneventful. economy from Lagos to Paris, upgraded to premium from Paris to Houston. the premium is a bit more comfortable than economy but Air France isn't know for its comfort sha. I wasn't asked for fit to fly in Lagos or paris

POE experience was a breeze, we landed Thursday 8th Nov the line at the border wasn't long but there weren't plenty officers on duty. I stayed on the line for 1 hr plus before it got to my turn. the guy asked me if I had a doctor and my payment plan. I showed him the mail correspondence and the receipt of deposit. asked if we had food, we said yes he mentioned egusi and crayfish and we said yes. na so he stamp us in.

there is this blueish form they give on the plane where you declare currency and foodstuff. apparently George Bush airport doesn't use it again.

so waiting for my first dr appointment and the birth of my LO

Hello all,

I do hope this shows. Being struggling with how to post on Nairaland.

I am a silent follower and I must say this forum has been super helpful. Thank you all.

In the spirit of giving back, I want to write my POE experience.

I flew Delta Airlines at 30 weeks with my 2 yr old toddler alone. Experience on Delta was great, friendly hostesses and good food. No fit-to fly was asked and they give priority to pregnant women. I got to Atlanta after a very long journey of about 12 hrs and we hovered for about 20 minutes because the CBP officers do not open till 5.30am.

The queue was a very long and tedious one considering I had a bump and a cranky toddler to attend to (my advise, make sure you have your stroller with you on the immigration queue if going with a toddler). Fast forward to an hour and half later, I was standing infront of a not too friendly CBP Officer. The conversation below ensued.

CBP: Where are you headed to today?
Me: Houston
CBP: WHat for?
Me: Vacation and Childbirth
CBP: Why Houston?
Me: I have a friend there that we attended College together, I feel she will be able to show me

Hello @soluble
Thanks for getting back to us.Pls did you travel with B1/B2 ,did you do the change intent?I don't mind a sample and the email add .
Also how can i get affordable accommodation in Houston. How did you get yours?
Sorry for so many questions☺

where do y'all dig up these statistics from? This whole myth we ascribe to travelling are mostly borne out of fear. If you know deep down your reasons for making a trip, then go right ahead. Let's not mystify everything abeg cool. I travelled with my wife and kid without issues and i know lots of colleagues and friends that had same easy pass.
Yeah, like someone said missing school is a major concern.Thank every1 though.

I have and i don't think it makes a difference in how you're treated..just make sure you take your receipts and zero balance letter/statement just in case they ask. They kept asking if I had my receipts at POE and secondary inspection but didn't they didn't ask to see them. Maybe it's because they already knew it had been seen at the embassy.

Thanks dear sis
