instinct30: I reconnected with a friend who stays in the US on facebook six months ago, and he wants to send me an invitation letter for a visit. However, my colleague said the possibility of my being granted visa is very slim because I have never traveled out of Nigeria , irrespective of the fact that every other thing is intact ( account balance, letter from work etc). Could my colleague be right? because I feel kind of discouraged to apply. No, your friend is incorrect, any first-timer who meets the requirements for visa may never be denied as well as any frequent traveler who falls short of the requirements may be refused: first-time or frequent traveler, this is only considered as a means to assess a visa applicant's credibility. |
tayoTFC: @VicjusticeIt is not a requirement and you are not obliged to be accommodated by your sister even if you are on a family visit: it is very safe to book and lodge in a hotel even if you are visiting your own parents. But man, you got to be careful now, you could get banned if the visa officer observes that "your sister" who you claim to be visiting is not physically present in the UK: It is safer for you to apply for Tourist/Visit visa rather than to apply for a Family Visit visa. |
Chinwem: Exactly.....please understand me wellIf the sources of the money can be proven in the first place, there should be no much of a problem (as regard to money lodgement. that is) if you withdrew it and eventually returned it to the account, that would not be seen as a violation: but it wouldn't look good for you if the visa officer suspects that the money was re-deposited into your account for presentation purpose and that it may be withdrawn again after your visa application: therefore, judging that the money is not available for your use. I bet you would have to present a credible explanation |
Wrong post for wrong query |
Chinwem: @ Vicjustice, does it count as lodgement if you took out that same amount twice ( on two different episodes some months before)Lodgement is not something that is debited, but something that is deposited. The value of the amount and the intended or suspected purpose are taken into consideration for visa officers to decide whether a transaction is money lodgement or not. |
dove30: hahahahahah I am a pure yoruba man but nevertheless I just have an understanding in life that when you are trying to get what you don't have from another person you have to be has humble has you can because if you argue or fight they mey hold on to the vital information that would solve your problem. Thanks for the advice of letting my wife apply first I feel its. Logically right to clear the air for un neccessary suspicions.I would think over it and keep on following the forum and updating you with anything I come up with since the applications is in the middle of the year so ill be planning through.thanks for your advice I appreciate.Any time, man, any time. I'll be happy to reason with you whenever you need it. Cheers |
smithjanetstore: @ Vicjustice: all i need for the application process and concerning my wife that will be traveling with meOK |
Isjaymoh: Help me out. There's this black american girl that we met via internet and we have been in a relationship for the past 18months and she want me to come over to the US to meet her. But I don't know if her invitation letter gonna be allowed at the american embassy, because she is still a student and she lives with her parent. And am also thinking if I can plan it this way, to call her mother my aunt if she may send the invitation and be my sponsorer. Kindly advice me and put me through. She (being a student and a dependant of her parents) is not eligible to invite you. And by the way, how did the mother of a girl that you met in the internet become your aunt? |
I wonder the terror and horror with pain of starvation that the kid passed through while in that dark grave with full consciousness. Poor little soul. The woman deserves no mercy |
5ami77: Thanks for you quick response...at least i now know where to start and can move forward. I need to ensure my marriage is registered i have left this all in the hands of my husband, who i am aware is very busy with work, but we need to get this ball rolling. I have travelled near and far and seen very different cultures, eventhough i am a born and bred british (not english) woman, I am black. Yes I understand that unless I have my own business, it will be very difficult to survive (finding a job) as my sister in law herself has found it difficult to find work as a fellow Nigerian. My husband is self employed and works very hard to be successful in what he does. I am also very adaptable and do not take marriage lightly (with a view if fleeing if things get difficult). Once i confirm my marriage is registered what nextGood to hear that your husband is doing well as a self employed (business owner), that is an ideal thing to help your situation in Nigeria. You, being a black woman is an advantage as there is unlikely to be any distinction between you and the locals (except perhaps for your accent). I am not saying that Nigerians are discriminative against white people, but the obvious remains that white people find themselves being victims of racial profiling both in positive and negative terms by most Nigerians. In the positive terms, white people are often given priorities and are appreciated for reason of their race. And in the negative terms, every Nigerian wants to cheat any white person who comes to buy even a lollipop from them: So, unlike would be expected of you, it is sometimes difficult for white people to do shopping without the assistance of a trusted local |
5ami77: Hi Vicjustice, as this is an issue very close to my heart i have read about the documents required and just wondered if you or any other person may be able to help/advise in my individual situation. It is not at all difficult for you to get a Nigerian visa or residency, the challenge would be for you to integrate into the system with all sort of everything associated with the country.. And Yes, your marriage needs to be registered in Nigeria. I like to warn you that except you have your own business, you might never find a job, and that makes survival difficult. Nigeria is a country where you spend and spend and spend money, and if nothing is coming back to you as income, you might see yourself fleeing from your marriage. |
jt2010: Vicjustice, I cearly understand where you are coming from but my statement is base solely on the fact that to either approve or refuse a UK visa application does not mostly require an interview, so the Embassy demanding to interview the poster goes to shows that the Visa officer want to make some clarification about some vague issues in the poster application before either approving or refusing the application, which to me provided the poster some clear opportunity to logically explain such concern the Visa Officer may have about the application than just refuse the application without any opportunity to clearly explains such issues.I appreciate you taking your time to explain. Thanks |
jt2010: Your chance of getting the visa is clearly high now, all you need to do now is go through your documents again and be ready to explain some vague issue that they may have about your application. Just be yourself at the interview and no need to be overly worry, just provide simple and coherent response to the interviewer questions and you be fine.I do not totally agree with this-that a chance of getting a visa is high because an applicant had been called for interview. Know that the majority of people whose applications are approved are not called for interview: usually, interviews are considered if there are questionable issues with an application or if there are things that need explanations. Most applicants are not deemed necessary to be interviewed before their visas are approved or refused. |
bluebarz: Thanks a lot though I forgot to mention dat the maillitary does not interfere with one's immigration issues especially wen ur not yet a soldier, dey let u handle it urself so dat rules out getin an invitation from them. My cousin is a citizen and he's white so doesn't dat give me a beta chance?I don't think that your cousin being "white" gives you a better chance, in fact, it is questionable how a black man has a "white" cousin. By the way, your question was about the category of visa that you should be applying for, and i thought i answered that? |
smithjanetstore: nairalanders ill like to apply for a uk bizness visa nxt month and ill like to go with my wife but am a little bit confused i dont really know what to do if i should join some of her documents while submiting my application can someone pls put me through its very urgentWhat exactly do you wish to know? |
dove30: . Its fine sir am humble to this forum and everyone ere because it has helped me a lot in the past.you acting like the eco ere and am responding like the apllicant so its. A open forum.but still I wouldn't mind. More light to be shed on the issue for me because that's why I came to the forum to hear all the comments and opinion and advice from everyone in here.thank you sirFrom your manners and the overwhelming respect..., would i be wrong to assume that you are a (pure) Yoruba man? Anyway, to respond to your original query, i like to suggest that since your daughter and your wife are not going to the UK for the same reason, it would be ideal for your wife to apply for her visa alone, and when granted, any or both of you can always (in future) apply for a visit visa for your daughter. Things are easier when done orderly, and though, i am not outrightly saying that they would be refused visas if they (your wife and daughter) apply together, but there is a high chance that both of them would be refused on circumstantial ground. |
dove30: hello thank you for your reply.but I don't think you took your time to read my first post before your conclusion sir.I am not on a tourist visa.I have been studying in the uk for over 4 years now and I am still studying and in the uk now.and if you read my second post you should have seen where I wrote about me getting my university to write a letter to back up which they ususlly do.my friends at uni invite there parents to come and visit them through the school.I really don't see anything suspicious in wanting my wife and daughter to visit me while am ere.what is the use of sending almost 12 million naira to school for 5 years if my wife and daughter can't even visit me for atleast once.I have a good record and history with the embassy I have come to nigeria twice now to renew so what are we saying ere mr vic justiceI responded to your query with the (mis)understanding that you are a visitor in the UK and that the mentioned school is one in Nigeria. Please, disregard my comments in this regard |
bluebarz: I need info pls. I intend to start a career in the U.S marines, I had a few friends in the marines who were willing to help me get signed up but I was asked to migrate to the USA first before the process would be started becos I was told that I'ld need an alien immigration number to sign up since am not a citizen of the states. Am a graduate, not working currently, I want to know the type of visa I should apply for, I have cousins there who can easily send me an invitation letter. How do I go about my visa application and what type do I need pls. I need proper guidance.I don't think your "cousin" is the right person to send you an invitation letter in this regard, the marine academy or other appropriate institutions should be the ones to send you the invitation. But if however you wish to apply for a visa using your cousin's invitation, you should be applying for visit/tourist visa. |

Isjaymoh: Pls kindly help me out. I'm a student and am applying for US visit visa, is my aunt that wanna send me an invitation letter, and is it possible for her to be my sponsorer?. And is it compulsory for me to add Tax clearance certificate to my document as a student?Do you pay tax for being a student in your school? |
Vcjustice, someone is arguing with me about this: For instance, if i have Spanish Permanent Residence, do i need an Irish Visa to visit Ireland despite i have Spanish Permanent Residence? Is there any proof link Spanish Immigi links or irish immigi links that confirm this? Infarct i have a friend in Germany that use to visit Ireland and he always obtain an Irish Visa despite he's got German Permanent Residenc, at least German and Spain are the same schengen, but this person do not believe that A Schengen Residency is required to obtain an Irish or British visa before he/she can visit Ireland and UK. This person confirm to me that one of his friends has been coming to Ireland without irish visa but only with his Spanish Permanent Residence. Is this possible? Any proof pls. Thanks
Though, Ireland is in the EU, but it does not participate in the Schengen treaty, so, a Schengen visa or its residence permit holder can not enter into Ireland without obtaining the Irish national visa: even those who are married to EU citizens and wish to exercise the EU Treaty Rights of free movements are required to obtain an Irish visa (howbeit, free of charge) to enter Ireland. To give you a straight answer, it is IMPOSSIBLE to use Schengen visa or residence permit to enter Ireland, only those with Schengen citizenship can travel to Ireland without visa |
dove30: Good day mr justwise thank you for all the assistance and advice you gave when I was re applying. I am in The uk settled at the moment.there is something I need to find out please my wife is presently in a fashion. School and she. Should finish in july.we. Are trying to get her to do a short. Course. In london school of fashion in july august.from what I read I guess its. The student visitor she can apply for.the course is only about two weeks.please she would have to come with my daughter at that period.what do we have to do to get all this done.any idea about the student visitor visa and can she apply together with my daughter and also what are the requirements can my mother sponsor her.I already have accomodation for them cos where I am staying can accomodate them.please I need adviceYou stated that your "wife will be going to the UK to do a short course in London school of fashion", but what will she tell the visa officer that your daughter will be going to the UK to do also? dove30: thank you very much that is more like an ecos question. Apparently my wife and daughter should be visiting me this summer and my wife is trying to use the opportunity to take the short course.but because there is no way she can take the course on the visitors visa the ukba advices to also fill student visitor course.so my child would be visiting her father. Who is on summer holiday too in the uk.am going to get my school to write the invitation letter supported with my own letter which they normally do for us.we have all finances to show and cover that they are able to come and go back with no issue moreover I am on my final year and also I have always put there names on my previous applicationsYour daughter is a minor, so by whose eligibility, or under whose rights is she visiting the UK? As a person using a tourist visa on holiday in the UK, you are not eligible to invite your child to visit you in the country. Well, I don't know how others might see this, but i must be honest to point out that your move is suspicious: and you don't want to give the visa officer some reasons to suspect that you and your family are migrating, do you? |
welfare1: Justwise and vicjustic.Well, the reference of your visa is in their system and they don't need you to advise them of any such omission: in fact, i doubt it is an omission, i think it is just not relevant |
Thanks for responses vicjustice. Visa was acquiredd with no issues. Actually checked with hrmc myself and all was in order. Funny enough I managed to track my pal down and he laughed at me so hard as he didn't even know what I was on about. Quick one, i'll be most definitely going on frequent business trips. However, i want to know if i can make some trips to primarily visit friends or family with this business visa. As i'm in europe a lot i may want to make a quick stop to see family even when i dont have business to attend to. Is this possible or i'll have an issue at ther border. Note that I listed these friends on my application and indicated that I won't be visiting them this first trip, which is true as it'll be strictly business. Thanks in advance.
If your visa is issued for business reasons, it would be expected of you (by the immigration officers) that your trips are business related. If you are using this particular visa for other purposes order than the purpose for which it was issued, the immigration officers reserve the rights to deny you entry and cancel the visa. However, as a valid business visa holder, you do not need a separate (tourist) visa should you wish to visit the UK: it is allowed to use this visa for casual or pleasure visit provided you are able to justify the original purpose of the visa and that your other uses of the visa are supplementary |

Waleabimbola: Does a multiple-entry Schengen visa allow visiting other Schengen countries later, without going via the issuing country?A Schengen visa entitles the holder to enter any Schengen country, and it is allowed to use any Schengen country as a point of entry. But be prepared to answer the immigration officers the purpose of your using their country as your point of entry. |
