eluquenson: Although, i have a savings account which is a joint acct with my wife and i have a salary acct in which i earn less than 100k per month, i can still add the accts statement as well?
Any, and i mean any account is fine provided the visa officer is satisfied that the money in the account is available for your use and that you have access to it
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 6:27pm On Mar 19, 2013
eluquenson: pls house i need an explanation to this issue, i wish to apply for a UK visa and i intend registering my company name as an enterprise and by november i want to apply for the UK tourist visa.
Can i include my personal busniess bank statement and my salary account statement as well, will i still have a good chance even if my personal busniess is not up to a yr?
Thanks
@justwise pls do justification.
Yes, you can support your application (mainly) with your personal account, but it may be ok to use your business account if the money in it is available for your use. But if it is determined that the fund in your business account is strictly for the business use, then it would be deemed ineligible even if you own the business.
Six months bank statement is all that is required of you, the embassy has nothing to do with the age of your account

aeiou: To survive?? Sham marriages?? Mate, are you serious?
Didn't you say that your "wife" is now "in a relationship with an old man and that she is "looking to mess the whole visa up"?
Beside that, you said she's frightened at the thought of going to jail, are these signs of genuine marriage?
Look, like I said before, i don't have any problem with whatever one does to survive.

worry 359: So DRUNKmaster you are too drunk or idle to read this post from the start.

First sentance
It is boring to hear people asking "what documents" that are required for this or for that visa, and i see that no matter how many individuals that are answered, there will continue to be many others who will ask the same question over and over and over again. It doesn't make much of a sense to ask this same question or to keep on answering it to everyone who asked it, so, i have decided to create this narrative list to answer the question conclusively.

Read post FIRST then ask detailed question if you don't understand something.
Indeed. Drunk and idle.

aeiou: Hi all,
I'm in a very shitty situation at the moment guys and hoping there is something man could do.
Last year, got married to my girlfriend of 5+ years (she is British). Cut long story short, she's now in a relationship with an old man and is looking to mess the whole visa up (since people are telling her she will be jailed etc). I'm on a 2 year probationary spouse visa and not even half way through it.
Now trying to think of what can be done immigration-wise. Anything?

Cheers in advance.
I do understand that you probably had to do that to survive, but I don't think you can get a genuinely legal advice on issues regarding sham marriages: just apply your own wisdom.

Looking really beautiful, hopefully it would get completed and maintained.
But unfortunately, it is not everyone that flies; but everyone uses the road transportation: so let the government develop the road and do drastic things about the conditions to save lives

boyestic: am a legal resident in united state(green card holder)i have to be in nigeria by thursday, but my nigerian passport has expired on january 13 2013,and i just got to know after buying my ticket,my question is

1,will i be able to leave usa on expired nigerian passport?
2,has anyone reading traveled out of united states with expired international passport?

pls your urgenty reply will be appreciated,am gonna glue to laptop to read from you, thanks in advance.
By rights, you can use an expired passport or any other proof of nationality to enter your own country, but unfortunately, the corrupt immigration officers at the Nigerian point of entry might see this as an opportunity to make a payday by delaying and denying you your rights: You will definitely NOT have any problem leaving the US with it.

I'm not judging you as being silly, I'm only accessing your intentions which to me is unreasonable. And by the way, I was referring to Nigerians in general
TravelRe: 7 Months Pregnant And Want To Travel To America Via Heathrow.safe Or Not Safe? by Vicjustice: 10:39pm On Mar 17, 2013
Diamond247: I have no intension to run away without paying my bills. B1/B2 visa covers medicals provided you pay your bills.
Then why are you concerned about about the visibility of the pregnancy when you said: "it's my first pregnancy and not very visible".
Anyway, just do what is right and you would be just fine.

justwise: You are about to start a journey to prison, even if you managed to pass your child as his daddy, anytime in future the real daddy get to know about that and go to the police you and your partner will be spending a long time in jail and the child taken away from you.

If your child does not look like your new partner and the authority suspect that and requested for DNA test what will you do?

Why not allow your partner to be your child's step-daddy rather than going through this dodgy route?
Well said.
But why is it so, that Nigerians always want to play smart in foolish ways?

bluebarz: Sounds ridiculous though but if so what are the illegal termed things people do just to retain their visa aside from marrying a whitey which is also legal. Abi are they any others I know not of? And secondly what kind of visa will I require from my narration above.
Sham marriages and marriages of convenience are illegal, also, impersonation or faking identity, or credentials are all illegal: though, I can understand if someone does any of these to survive

Diamond247: It's my first pregnancy and not very visible. I waited this long because I will be staying with my sister in law who is a single mum with 3kids. I don't want to over stay my welcome.
From your posts and the associating advice which you welcomed, I can see that you are intending to outsmart the US immigration. But I like to warn you that you are putting yourself in danger of a life-time ban from the USA. I WARN YOU.

Abbey48: Hi vic Justice and my nairaland pple, pls I nid an answr on ds my questn,I was refused visa by uk after a face-face interview though this is my first time that I applied without seeing the reason why I ws refused cos someone picked my passport for me.He said I was not ban and I want to try America visa too through the help of my uncle dt is organising a conference in Us,pls does my passport not going to affects this my application @Us embassy since they've stamped it at Uk embassy?
Why are you concerned about a ban, did you use any fake or forged document?
If you did, trust me, you are under the ban even if you were not told.
Well, the American embassy operates independently from the UK embassy, but (with the presence of a UK stamp on your passport,) there is a very high chance that they would know your status with the UK embassy.

zico10: Goodday everyone, am Isaac by name I need your help pls. I applied for UK family visit 2ice last year and was turned down on d ECO saying dat I may not return back to Nigeria cos I said am unemployied. I went for appeal and hearing was fixed to 21th march, 2013. I now received a call from BDHC lagos on d 26th febuary to bring my passport which I went to submit on d 27th febuary. I was given a slip dat I will be contacted but up till now I did not hear from them and d court day is next wk thursday, pls wot should I do?
There is nothing that you can do except to wait...
But if you ask my opinion, i would say: unless you are applying for a migrant visa based on some sort of rights, i do not see how a tourist visa appeal will be successful given that you are jobless in Nigeria
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 10:08pm On Mar 15, 2013
nubia doll: hello Vic justices and my fellow nairaland ppl,I applied to go for my Brother’s graduation in 2008, I had to spend 10 days and my application was refuse on the following grounds:
I am not satisfied, on the balance of probabilities, that you meet the requirements of paragraph 41 of the immigration Rules HC395
The cost of your visit to the UK is to be borne by your sponsor, my brother. Your sponsor’s financial outlay on your visit is not commensurate with his current economic circumstances and as a result I am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that such funds will actually be available to you. I note that you have submitted evidence of your brother’s financial circumstances in the form of a bank statement from Barclays bank Plc covering the period 13/09/08 to 10/10/08. I note from the statement that the account was overdrawn by £978 as of 10/10/08. With regards to your personal financial circumstances I note that you have submitted evidence. With a closing balance of N 80,730 (£372; £1 = N217) and the other account has N2784 (£13). I am mindful that your return flights alone will cost in the region of £600. Therefore on the balance of probabilities I am not satisfied that you will be maintained and accommodated in the UK without working or having recourse to public funds or are able to meet the cost of return or an onward journey as required by paragraph, 41 (vi) and (vii) of HC395.
Now he is getting married this August 2013 and I would love to attend the wedding .This time I would like to apply with my 6 month old baby daughter and my husband (optional) for 7 days. Pls house advice me on how i can handle this properly this time around. I would like u to give me answers to the following;
1. The time I should apply.
There is no time frame or limit, you are allowed to apply at any time you think you are prepared.

nubia doll: 2. The amount of money to be in my account.
The amount of fund you had then (in 2008) was ridiculously too poor, you must have an impressive amount of cash to support yourself. Now, this is how it works: An acceptable bank statement must have up to six months transaction records demonstrating your income (from verifiable sources) and expenditures, and it must have good enough fund to sustain your trip and intentions, and also; it must have enough balance to keep you going after the trip: preferably, a Savings account, Salary account or Wages account

nubia doll: 3. Do I need an international passport for my 6 month old baby.
YES, an individual passport is required of your baby, even if the infant is a day old.

nubia doll: 4. Since I didn’t re-apply will it affect my chance of get the visa.
When the time comes I would like u to help me out in the filling of my application.
i would appreciate it if you can respond as soon as possible.
Basically, NO, except in the event of gross misrepresentation (such as deceit,) your previous application is not supposed to affect your chance as every application is treated in its own merit

TravelRe: A Comprehensive List Of The Documents Required For Visas by Vicjustice(op): 9:38pm On Mar 15, 2013
bluebarz: I need a real candid advice cos a whole lot about this visit visa issue seems confusing a bit to me. First am a newbie still trying to get more knowledge in this. I was recently signed up with an upcoming record label in Kentucky USA, not as an artiste but as a promoter / street member in Nigeria, my cousin (white guy) is the star artiste in the label, recently we got into talks and they want me to come over to the states, my cousin is ready to provide an invitation letter and all the accommodation details I'll need for the embassy but the real deal is I aint going for just a visit, I am going over to be stay, I thought about the label getting me a H1B visa but they are still in the registration process with the US government. Please I want to know if its advisable to use the Visit visa for entry first as I intend to work in the states upon arrival and can I upon entry find a way to workout staying beyond the 3months stay period without immigration issues? I have pictures of me and my cousin when he came to Nigeria, I don't want to risk rejection, so I want to be guided properly and I forgot to mention, I just graduated, I have served my NYSC and I have houses here with tenants living in them which I manage on behalf of my father. Do I stand a chance of been accepted for a visit and if so how do I go about the process, sorry if am taking u back, I just need clarifications.
I am curiously just trying to figure out how biologically possible it is for a black Nigerian man to have a "white guy" as a cousin... Anyway, to be honest, it doesn't matter whether your cousin is a white guy, immigration rules are not respecter of any race.
It is not normally possible to extend or convert a short term tourist visa into a long term visa or any other form of immigration entitlement, or residence permit; except you do something drastic or illegal, or you experienced a compelling circumstance beyond your control that would deem it necessary for you to stay in the USA: such circumstance may be on health or safety ground.

ameeno: Hi everyone... i have just been refused a Uk visa because my hotel reservation was cancelled and the hotel said they tried to call me severally put couldnt get through and they didnt bother to send me an email. All my other documentations were ok. what do i do now should i send in a review letter with a fresh and confirmed reservation or do i put in a fresh application.. Please advice ASAP as am still in Lagos and in need of a next step.
The decision was a fair one, so it would be useless to apply for a review: you can't integrate a new hotel booking into this already decided application case

Hasn't this question been answered?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice:
oriste: riste: The reason was that my account was overdrwawn until recently there was huge deposit tlthrice one was ny annual rent abd the other salary and the last was a unkown payment so should i still reapply cos i can prove the money lodged but dont u tink the overdraw from my account will affect my application.
Overdrawn account (in my opinion) is a clear indication that the fund may not be available for use, and that the account is not credible nor is it sustained.

4teelaw: I doubt if the flight reservation was forged. Y should anyone forge flight reservation? it is something anybody can do online.
Unfortunately, people still manipulate with flight tickets to make it match with their proposed dates of travel since it is not normally possible to do so without payment.
This is an utterly foolish thing for any agent to do as flight tickets are not a necessity during visa application.
TravelRe: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by Vicjustice(op): 4:45pm On Mar 13, 2013
adegokeadekola: I do not present any false document, the only document i think that might be the forged document was the flight reservation one agent did for us and i didn't pay for the hotel reservation
These documents might indeed have been forged, and if so, you have been placed on the 10 years ban, there is nothing you can do.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 9:07am On Mar 13, 2013
stone2x: Dear nairaland/justwise please what is the process of reappeal...please you advice is needed.
Your salary of N106.000 is not the smallest, but however, you were refused on financial ground because, you do not seem to have good savings hence you budgeted only N250.000 (which is way too small) for an intercontinental travel.
The visa officer had sensed that you are a struggling class Nigerian whose trip would do great damage to his financial situation, and a potential high risk to the UK immigration: you are not the kind of visitors that they want...
Now, you CAN NOT appeal the decision as you are not entitled to that right, and also (even though you are entitled to reapply,) but I do not recommend that you reapply at this stage until your financial circumstances improve.
Do not worry too much about your salary, just build your savings and apply again when you have over a million Naira.

But wasn't this your words?:

2) JUSTIFICATION FOR THE PURPOSE AND CONDITIONS OF INTENDED STAY WAS NOT PROVIDED
3) THE INFORMATION SUBMITTED REGARDING THE JUSTIFICATION FOR THE PURPOSE AND CONDITIONS OF THE INTENDED STAY WAS NOT RELIABLE
