My friends visit my house well. In fact my friends are his friends and his are mine. We just both agree that we like our space but it is not like we will chase family away when there is a need.

Well, families are different. I have three older sisters. Before I got married, I could hardly stay in their houses for two days without wanting to be home in my own zone. I think it was the way we were brought up. My mum would say she couldn't sleep in her inlaw's house when she had her own house.

Everyone believes that once you are married, you should be given space. What if I didn't get married and get a place, won't they have a place to stay?. My husband feels the same way especially because it would mean he has to start wearing clothes around the house even when he doesn't want to.
