I think shyness and pride works together. Your pride is what brought about your shyness or let me say your shyness is sponsored by your pride.
If you remove that shyness from your life completely, you will become an outstanding extrovert. Introverts are extroverts to people they very much confide in.
Do what pays for you
Lol.. I can relate to this.
People that don't really know me see me as a calm and reserved person but the reverse is the case for those close to me

Please do me a favour.

Go tell your parents that I said "I love them".

That is how to raise children. You strictly speak you local language at home. Not some yeye English.
Ok o.. Thank you

Thank you. My parents don't ever speak English with any of us.. It's always Esan and then we learnt yoruba from neighbors..

Whenever I speak yoruba like this, I always enjoy the surprise on the faces of people. Lol

Nothing wrong with you.
Having your own space is cool, it's like a sanctuary and once you get used to it, it might initially be difficult to accommodate others..

Iz daht so?? But you will be there looking for for one already made man who will not be living in a face-me-i-face-you house!
You will look down and reject such a man.

But you came from such humble beginnings oo. Hmm, you see... Life! Ironies and hypocrisies. That's life in a summary.
Wetin I do you bros? Do you even know me?
Anyways, we stopped living in that kind of apartment when I was 13 and as at that time my parents already built their house but remained there in ketu because of business.. Luxury wasn't there but it's not like we were living in poverty

studyless123:

That's it. A change in location should accompany a change in behavior. I know a number of women who desire to get married but their issue is the man will change once he comes here. My next question is what are your options?

consider this.

When foreigners get married to Nigerians, the marriage tends to lasts longer compared to Nigerian couples. Eg In 2014, I linked up 8 USC with Nigerians that ended in marriage, all are still married. That same year I know 5 Nigerian marriages that only 2 are still couples today. While that is a personal observation, you will agree that we tend to have a higher tolerance towards our foreigners spouses which we don't exhibit toward our Nationals.

We create different expectations. We shy away from having meaningful and sometimes difficult discussions during courtship.

Honestly I would expect my spouse to change if I brought her from Nigeria but the real issues are the men need to change their "orientation" and the women need to "understand" their men.
Abeg, link me up too o.. I need it
