Regarding Lith, well, its true, i do not need NetPay, but i saw their advert here one day so i just applied to see how they work not like i needed it. PayPal is in our country and we have other Payment systems here which i use.

When PayPal for Nigeria can receive Payment, All this Nigerian Processors would loose alot because their things are just too much. I tried to apply for that NetPay(Just for it) they requested for my Business Document, tell me, if PayPal in Nigeria allows receiving Payment, do you think i would have spent a minute on NetPay? PayPal does not ask for such document.

That is just one reason above as to why I, myself, would not use Nigerian processors and use PayPal, now consider the reasons of other users..

As for that PayPal Screenshot, obviously fake! The person could have attached transactions history so we see the transactions that accumulated to 5m

I believe Nairaland has community rules and guidelines, so if they do not allow such topics about making money, then you have to abide by it. If you do not like it, then you do not use the forum.

webhosting.info is a DirectI Entity. And as such, it is run by ResellerClub. It only Calculates the total Number of Domains Registered under WhogoHost's Reseller account at ResellerClub. It does not mean all the domains are being hosted with WhoGoHost. How did webhosting.info have access to whogohost server to count their number of sites and give them the credit of being the largest?

What about other web hosts in Nigeria outside DirectI Jurisdiction? Web Host with Private Networking and Servers? How does Webhosting.info access them? Try to investigate some things before you call a News.

Its just the total number of domains registered.. Some would have expired some pending deletion. Its just calculating the total number. So its no largest to me. No Nigerian host is largest.

what do you say about paypal's fund policy on their own ebay or even paypal's own 'issue refund'? it takes weeks or months sometimes, why dont they revert back the money immediately like it was paid?

LoadedHost: I think i would have to agree with Vinshu regarding that online payment aspect.. I am not taking sides or whatever. Every company has their mode of operation. For example, in our company, there are certain items(Hosting, VPS, Domains.. whatever) that requires justification and extended identification before we can provision them. For example, someone orders a VPS and then asks for a /28 range of IPs. Its suspicious as to what he intends to use a /28 Range (16 IPs) for on a VPS, as such, even when he makes an order for the range, he would be asked to present Identification Documents as he is making the order and state reason for the /28 and even after he does it, payment wont be made but the order would be held for review. If its okay, it would be unlocked and the client can continue to pay the invoice and get his /28 Ips.

So online payment is not an excuse. Once you have received your money, you must render the service. If you cannot render it, do not collect money. If you collect money by mistake, return the money in the fashion at which the customer paid. The customer paid in 10 minutes using his PayPal account, return his money in 10 minutes by reversing the PayPal. If he paid with Credit Card, do the same and reverse the money. Holding it for 4-6 weeks is unprofessional.

We have a Name Database and Phone Number Database. It sounds weird. But we can actually determine if your Name is Fake! How does Google+ Determine Fake names? We use Language and Regional technologies to tell if a Name is fake or does not sound to be from any ethic or region. So nobody can use Fake Names on the WHOIS of domains registered with us. Same with phone number, we can check if a Number exist as you are saving the Number on the WHOIS record. If it does not exist, the domain would be suspended and you must verify the number by receiving a phone call.

My point is, every company should have a system at which they use to fight fraud and scam. Not just about Downloading and Installing WHMCS and think that is the end. Do not collect money from customers prior to your fraud checks, it means you yourself, must be investigated.

Regarding the Domain aspect, someone gave an example of firstbankng.com and hostgatorng.net || have you seen http://paypalsucks.com ?? have you seen http://paypalalternative.net ?? C'mon ! Is PayPal not in the name? Like any document was submitted? If you cannot provide a domain name in the name of suspicious, do not collect the money and if you do, return the money first and ask questions and demand documents later. Its as simple as that and as Vinshu said, there should be a blacklist, at which names of famous companies cannot be included in your domain. Most web hosting providers are not developers, they are just individuals who pay people to develop for them that is when things like this occur.

Now that is a web host speaking.

Are you kidding me? That is utter nonsense... Even before payment is made, an automated system would review the domain, there should be domains in a blacklist database at which users must provide certain documents before they can be registered, so the system checks the database first and if finds a match, it would stop the order and stop payment and ask for verification(either automated or manual verification) and if the verification fails, the order would be cancelled.. No money spent! So that is utter nonsense you are saying.

Just like registering a .US domain, you must be from USA with a valid SSN and Country ID. Before you register .US on any VALID registrar, you would be asked for the SSN and CID before they even display any form of payment. The SSN and CID would be verified instantly and if it is approved, order continues to payment... That is how it should be done.. Make checks first.. That is no excuse of yours.

Besides i can register hostgatorng.com anywhere.. if you wish, let me register it now and come back to redirect it to nairaland for proof.

In our country, this is fraud and illegal! Once money has been paid, service MUST be rendered. if you know you cannot render the service.. DO NOT COLLECT THE MONEY AT THE FIRST INSTANCE!. Terms of service written on website is not a rigid constitution but a flexible one which the web host can change after you file a report just to suite them. So we dont recognize TOS here in Lithuania.

He does not need to be asked in the first place. Nigerians like taking things too much. Business document for domain name is a silly requirement. Even a 10year old can get a domain reseller where he can register as many domains as possible without being questioned. So what is smart web problem?

Lets face it, i know how the OP is feeling, but the truth is, thats the best, some hosting companies now will ask for a valid identification document before registering some certain domain for you, i have had to provide such.

My advice to OP, since they promise a refund, just go ahead and register the domain somewhere else whilst persuade them for your refund.

There are millions of web hosts to host his website and get his domain registered without asking him a foo*lish question or document.

Mr OP, move to another company dear.. There are millions out there. Try Hostgator.com just $0.01 for the first month. Get your domain registered and feel free.

Its sad indeed but here are the facts:

- They are in no position to ask for the Business Registration of a website you intend to host!!!

- They have no right to question you about the reason for the domain registration. Its a Rhetorical question. No domain name is suspicious. All domains are just domains. Anyone can register anything. I believe there is a WHOIS record on the domain to trace the owner not the host. So that is unprofessional.

You, on the other hand should instead, get a Reseller account for yourself(Hosting + Domain) since you are a freelancer and you might be hosting multiple sites for your clients, you cannot be buying web hosting individually. Get a Reseller account and Domain Reseller account for yourself, so you can host as many sites without anybody asking rhetorical questions or you move to another company.

Dont just sell open source item that you worked hard to build or buy/crack. Re-license the thing. As long as no licensing is made, anyone can come back to share it for free which would damage the biz for life! Nobody, i mean nobody will buy it from you when it is offered for free! 1) Send then a random mail and note their response time

2) See how their billing works if its not just one site I have to call to clear orders

3) Check for certain policies that should exist on any host.

4) Check if they are just resellers or they have their own servers

5) Read reviews..
and so on
