and down goes the value of Naira. .  .down down down down!

open the floodgates, we are Nigerians, we are idiots who don't give a shyt about our manufacturing companies and would rather import toothpicks and cassava from everywhere else.

I honestly believe Jonathan is nuts!

why can't we just get it right for once. . .fix the poser industry you idiots, not increase consumption appetite of goods from abroad.

Fantastic. ,  . . . let's see an increase traffic congestion, environmental pollution, further dilapidation of already dilapidated roads, and ultimately auto accidents.

what the government gets in revenue, {which will eventually be squandered}, the Nigerian people will pay for dearly!

True, 100,000 minivans = 100,000 drivers plus same number of conductors {which could be slightly more than that}, a total equivalent of over 200,000 jobs.

I discovered an interesting piece in a news on the recent wikileaks release of confidential US documents which i believe explains Iran's attempt to ship high grade weapons to Nigeria. embarassed embarassed

Noting that the US presidency of Barack Obama has created great hope in the Islamic world, the Saudi King Abdullah told a top US official that he should restore America's credibility in the Muslim countries, according to a leaked State Department cable by WikiLeaks .

This was communicated personally by the King, to John Brennan, Obama's counter terrorism advisor, when the latter went to meet him in March 2009 and delivered a personal letter of the US President to the Saudi King. "Thank God for bringing Obama to the Presidency," the King answered, which has created "great hope" in the Muslim world

According to the cable, the King expressed hope the US would review its Iran policy and "come to the right conclusion."

Brennan responded that Obama was personally reviewing US Iran policy and wanted to hear the King's thoughts.

"Abdullah asserted that Iran is trying to set up Hizbollah-like organisations in African countries, observing that the Iranians don't think they are doing anything wrong and don't recognize their mistakes.

"I said (to Mottaki) that's your problem," recounted the King, the cable said.

"Abdullah said he would favor Rafsanjani in an Iranian election, were he to run.

He described Iran not as "a neighbor one wants to see," but as "a neighbour one wants to avoid."

PoliticsWhere Is Donald Duke? by violent(op): 1:31am On Nov 29, 2010
Since Donald Duke's resignation from PDP, not much has been heard about this fella and his objective to run for the Presidency. His resignation letter earlier this year reads.

My Dear Chairman

LETTER OF RESIGNATION FROM THE PARTY

It is with a dissonant mix of relief and regret that I formally tender my resignation from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

When in 1998, we came together and forged a vehicle destined (as we thought at the time) to carry forward our beloved country’s hopes and dreams, there was a sense of being on the cusp of something that would endure. That has not proved to be the case.

Since then, a lack of commitment to the purpose and focus of the Founding Fathers of our party and our country has emasculated the PDP. The party, in its present evolutionary state, has become dysfunctional, unable to articulate a road map and lead Nigerians on a clear and concise path to national renewal. Faithfulness and fervor have been dissipated by a seamless stream of internecine factional warfare.

I leave behind friends, many with whom I shared sincerity of purpose but, regrettably, no longer share commonality of purpose. They shall in future be friends outside the party rather than friends within it, but always friends first. Our politics must be big enough for us to differ as we cohabitate.

My former colleagues, I wish you and our beloved country well. For my part, I shall not fail to rise to the challenges and opportunities that the twenty-first century continues to hold out to our country. I shall always be mindful to speak truth to our circumstances and our condition.

Please communicate my resignation to your fellow members of the State Executive Council.

I am happy to remain,

Yours faithfully,

Donald Duke

PoliticsYour’re Disloyal To Pdp, Jonathan Tells Atiku by violent(op): 12:23am On Nov 29, 2010
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has taken a swipe at former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar for apparently celebrating last week’s loss of Osun State by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the rival Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), courtesy of Ibadan Appeal Court ruling, which declared Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola as the duly elected governor of the state.

Atiku had in his reaction to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s apparent derisive disposition towards his emergence as the preferred candidate for the North selected by the Adamu Ciroma-led Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF), proclaimed that he was having the last laugh following the court’s judgment on Osun State.

It followed the I dey laugh ke ke ke ke comment made by Obasanjo when State House correspondents sought his impression of the selection of Atiku by the Ciroma committee.

But in his reaction to the loss of Osun State by the PDP, Atiku stated: we too de laugh ooo, even when he is a member of the PDP.

President Jonathan has now reacted to that, saying that it was sad that a member of the PDP should celebrate the loss of any of its states, pointing out that loyalty could not be bought in the market.

Even though he failed to mention Atiku by name in a posting on his Facebook profile on Sunday, Jonathan said he found it hard to believe that any member of the party would express happiness over the development to the extent of laughing.

We need a smart thief who knows he is a thief and can at least stop stealing since he is well-fed.
Only Atiku has seen that kind of money amongst all the candidates.
He knows who to send to jail and will not mind sending himself to jail too if push comes to shove.
This has got to be the dumbest post ever!

Atiku is a smart thief who will stop stealing, and wouldn't mind sending himself to jail. . . seriously?

It even annoys me that you've used a collective pronoun "We" which in this case stands for Nigerians. . .and if i read your statement right, you are saying what Nigerian's need at this point is a smart thief?. . .
