Kobojunkie:Its really bad, and worse still, most people, either directly or indirectly affected will probably just shrug off their shoulder and move on to wait for the next recruitment exercise. . .Nigerian's are conditioned to take everything and anything hurled at them by their leaders, sometimes you wonder if it's a curse or something I wonder who/which accounts, benefits directly from this ponzi like scheme, the federal government? |
i fart loudly and smile happily afterwards. . .its better than séx |

Nigerian students really should wake up fast to ensure that their leaders are held bound to their promises, hopefully they will learn a thing or two from this video [flash=535,325] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE3IEKWu4rA?fs=1&hl=en_US" type=[/flash] |
yemi313:Yes, GEJ was sworn in to run a country tittering at the point of self destruction. . . .the truth is that same country is still tittering at the point of self destruction, Nigerians, home and abroad have come to carve out a messiah image for GEJ simply because he came in when the polity was under intense pressure. But let's take it back a bit. . . .has this man or his administration demonstrated traits that we might desire in a Nigerian leader? well, I am hoping for truth sake you'd answer No to that, although debatable. Here are my points. 1) Till date, Nigerians still don't know who signed the last budget while late President Yaradua was hospitalized, and the President is not bothered to address this issue. . Additionally, the administration has failed in its promise to be truthful and and ensure fairness/Justice by refusing to put those alleged in the Haliburton scandal to trial. 2) The administration has shown itself not prudent at managing the country's resources, this is best exemplified with the government's decision to purchase waste bins from Britain that is set to cost taxpayers over a billion naira and will deal a big blow on our manufacturing industries. . . .what more? we spent 9 billion on the 50th Anniversary. . .7 billion building a Vice president's house. . . and over billion on muslim pilgrims {i wonder what sense there is to this}. 3) The administration has demonstrated bad leadership evident in our President making Public remarks without due consultation. I remember quiet vividly when Mr President was "angry" and made proclamations for super eagles to be barred from all football activities for up to 5 years, all it took was a threat from FIFA to get our President back in line. . . .ah! why should i forget the October 1 bomb blast. . . the process was handled in a hogwash manner, with our President making Judgmental statements ahead of investigations. . .what? where in the world is that done? |
I wouldn't be voting for either Atiku or Jonathan for the presidential position. Reason: the former is a known thief, that latter is simply not intelligent enough to rule Nigeria. Its high time Nigerians stood for other things besides ethnic backgrounds and proposed empty promises, if we don't we'd spend another 4 years or more in mediocrity and pay for it the rest of our lives. |

Nigeria may not fit into the BRIC for several reasons and the most important would be the ability of the country to sustain its economical growth. The country's export that is dependent on oil and a few other agricultural commodities weighs below par on a diversification scale and this in turn increases the risk profile of the country. It can also be further argued that manufacturing sector in the country is not likely to experience a boost in another 6 or 7 years down the line this stems from poor power infrastructure which has consistently been the bane of the Nigerian state. Furthermore, the country's underdeveloped financial markets and stock exchange impede an investor's ability from including in their portfolio, financial instruments that will enable them to achieve a fully diversified portfolio with reasonable returns. |
If there ever is a time when folks implicated in the Haliburton scandal should be tried, the time is now! |

After much consulations, the northern leaders forum have decided to choose a thief as a prospective leader. Atiku will have to beat a combination of Jonthan+Sambo+OBJ it will be interesting to see how that should work out |

passyjango:Tribal hate? who cares really? that's not going to add a dime to my income! but definitely, a fraudulent liar being on a National stamp will dent my country's image and that's why i speak! its funny how you aim to convince readers to ignore whatever fraudulent discrepancies in his degree claim, in UK, in May, a woman was jailed for 6 months for lying on her CV that she had A level results. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/03/27/woman-jailed-for-lying-on-cv-that-she-had-a-levels-115875-22141285/ If it had been the other way round and she had been fortunate to be a Nigerian, her kinsmen would be threatening civil war cos "She's our daughter and she's being ethnically/racially discriminated against" |
I wonder what will happen to about 20 million plus unemployable youths produced by the defunct educational system in Nigeria. Wasn't he once a lecturer? is he just realizing this fact? |
monkeyleg:This dude is alleged to be a fraud and all you, as well as many others are simple saying is we should let him be? are we all now without morals? The dude is not a private person anymore, he bears his name on the national postage stamp, if he's fraud then we shouldn't keep quiet about that, he needs to be investigated. Why should a foreign employer for example, accept and consider job application documents sent in a post with a liar's face stamped at the back of it? there is something called integrity, no well meaning Nigerian should ever support what is wrong, if we want to purge out corruption, we should start within the family. He's a genius? Yes he is He achieved a lot? Yes he did He lied about his qualifications? Yes he did Should we celebrate him?. . . . definitely not! |
i respect your comment and i know where you are coming from. sadly, in nigeria, we look at everything ethnically.I'd tell you why. . .cos he's Nigerian, and he's currently on the nation's postal stamp, we present him to the world as our hero, if truly he lied as alleged, then what does that say about the country itself? |
Seun has got a crazy sense of humor believe me, it reads on the front page "Emeagwali lies again to prove he's not a liar" . . . .classic, that got me LMFAO |
@OP you'd always meet arseholes in life, learn to deal with that, and if you don't like that they insult you, simply ignore them, afterall you don't know them, why give a rat's árse what they think? |
Sometimes I wonder how Nigerian journalists especially Sahara Reporters come up with these lies. No American university will offer such information to a reporter unless Emengwali permits them to do so. Common, many American universities do not agree to release or tell parents the results of their children unless they have a written consent, how much less an outsider. How many of you here attended university in the US, please can you tell us your school's policy about sharing your private information with a third party?. Some things are not worth flogging because if the school actually did such, they will be exposing themselves to liability suits. If it is a criminal case, the investigators are usually required to obtain warrant from the local DA before the school will allow them access to his files. Of course, the tribal lions here are so obsessed with nailing Emengwali to the wall that they forgot about such rules in US universities.
There are certain facts that does not necessarily fall under privacy rules, one of such facts will be double checking if a particular student had attended a particular university or if the student is merely falsifying and wrongfully parading himself has an alumni of such school, i doubt if any school would not oblige you such information. For instance, I could send a letter to a school to find out if XYZ graduated from the school, I am most likely going to get an answer for that without obtaining warrants from the DA or permission from XYZ, however, if i request for further information such as XYZ's grades at school, then, I'd definitely need some sort of permission for that. |
