@OP, it's a nice post. I also believe that sometimes we would need other people's approval. Like your boss or people in authority. We would want recommendation for one reason or the other. Sometimes I believe we want people to have gOod opinion about us because their opinion matters.
Fashion › Re: Ladies: What Makeup Reveals About You by vislabraye(m): 11:56am On Jul 23, 2014
chuxyz: I look at ladies who say they like being themselves and can't help but ROTFLOL. With most of them applying makeup like one coming outta a paint factory. Not to talk of the ego with which some will sway those expensive artificial hair as if it is the end of the world while they look down on every other person as if they are a piece of shit. There is one thing i want you all to know: Being oneself starts with being natural. Once a lady can't be natural, never accept a word when she says she is or likes being herself. Trust me that's a fat lie. Any lady who makes up is actually indirectly telling you that she is what she really isn't. In conclusion, i will like to tell you ladies that being yourself starts with being natural and if you all can do this, men will appreciate you more.
. Are you totally against makeup ? Cos I feel a lady should makeup herself but in moderation.

gazilion: These are examples of some nice and great players who never went far...I won't call them a flop...

O Lord help me never to shine and stop but to keep shining till I die...Amen

1. James Obiora
2. Chris Onyemachara
3. Samuel Elijah
4. Garba Lawal
5. Taiwo Enegwea
6. Friday Elaho
7. Tunde Charity
8. Chris Ohenhen
9. Fatai Atere
10. Shola Ameobi
- I'm not happy Keshi used Ameobi instead of Mba...Ameobi's patriotism smacks of hypocrisy only after he was rejected by England.
11. Chrisantus
12. Vanzekin
13. Chidi Nwanu - really didn't see much of him except in the US '94 games.
14. Wilson Oruma
15. Mobi Oparaku

Let me think again...

pls.
. I agree with you on some of the players you listed (at least those I remember). Ameobi shouldn't have been invited in the first place. He didn't even play the Nations Cup or the qualifiers. He was fielded at the expense of other well deserved players.

Sports › Re: Nigerian Players That Flopped After Being Hyped Into The Super Eagles by vislabraye(m): 7:46pm On Jul 21, 2014
Syenite: 1) Efan Ekoku: Widely tipped prio to 1994 AFCON to be better than Yekini.Only game he played was against Zaire in Qfinal where he missed a very glaring chance. He was subsequently returned to d bench and fastened with a seat belt. That was d only game he played for Nigeria even though he made the party to 1994 world cup.

2) Jonathan Akpoborie:The 1985 U17 winner, managed to break into the Super Eagles in late 1990s. He den had to contend with our then inform striker, Victor Ikpeba.Akpoborie saw few games and never really lived up to his rating. Things got worse for him with the coming of Julius Aghahowa and Ikpeba's former U17 team mate, Benedict Akuegbu. Akpoborie lost his place in d Super Eagles.

3) Victor Agali: Nigeria's 2000 Olympics hit man when he paired with Aghahowa, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Pius Ikedia. Yekini left a very big shoe to b filled and Nigerians believed the huge striker was d man. He did feature in 2002 AFCON bt was sent home due to disciplinery action after first game in 2004 AFCON after we lost our opening game to Morocco. Agali and Babayaro kissed good bye to the Super Eagles after dat incidence.

4) Batholomew Ogbeche: One of d greatest errors in Nigeria's world cup selection history. The then 18yrs old Ogbeche had just entered lime light after a one season performance at PSG. A bicycle kick that saw d ball hit d cross-bar in a pre-world cup friendly against Scotland was all Coach Onigbinde saw that made him include Ogbeche in d party to 2002 WC and d rest is history.

5) Christian Ndubuisi Obodo: Fondly called bundle of skills was Ogbeche's team mate at 2001AYC. He was seen as a likely replacement for JJ Okocha. He hardly lived up to the expectations from Nigerians and was dropped from Super Eagles.

6) Joseph Akpala: Emerged highest goal scorer in d Belgian league for 2 straight seasons. He finally got a SE call up after so much pressure on d coaching crew. He did not leave up to his ranking and so was dropped only to b recalled for the 2013 confederations cup in Brazil. You and I saw his performance at dat tourney.
. Akpoborie and Agali were not over hyped. Akpoborie was often plagued with injury that was why he could compete in major tournaments. But he does well in our qualifiers.

Opiosko: Men don't like to feel being bossed, that's why some lady's resorts to seduction.
. Exactly. No man likes to be bossed or made to look incompetent. Seduction is more acceptable because it is less humiliating. Besides you can refuse seduction.

Opiosko: It's human to want others to submite to u, trust ur judgment nd believes in u. U expect it from her nd she expects that from u. So whose wish or expectation do u think should be granted?.......
. Expecting it from me is okay, but must I be bossed into it ? I love intelligent and smart ladies, but they are not necessarily bossy.

Opiosko: I feel u bro, all these weaklings here are making it sound as if those class of women are devil himself. Truth is that those tendecies are a manifestation of confidence and can be found among men too. All these weaklings are just looking for someone the feels they are better than so they can form macho nd small little tin gods. #fact is that 'Only weak guy run from confident babes!
. Can a bossy wife be submissive ? Can she trust your judgment ? Does she believe in you ? If your babe wants to change 70 percent of who you are, I think she's the one who's insecure.

Dragonking: 3. Comedians:

"Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving." - Ephesians 5:4

While the Bible doesn't completely forbid humor, it makes it pretty hard to be funny. Almost anything you watch on Comedy Central or in a live stand-up act will break these rules. C'mon, what would the world be like without fart jokes?
. Foolish talks is meant for fools.
Celebrities › Re: Peter Okoye Replies Those Bashing Him For Snubbing His Brother's Wedding by vislabraye(m): 9:07am On Jul 20, 2014
tosscash1: peter u dissapointed me u dont repay evil with evil
u did not behave like a true nwa-afo
i blame ur wife becox if u have a good woman in d house
she would hav persuaded u to attend d weding using bedroom powers
because men hardly turn down request made during that time..

and the day ur eyes will clear u will realize u made d greatest mistake of ur
life marrying her, bcoz i still believe u are under charms
. Even tho I don't support retaliation, Peter should not be blamed for not attending. His elder brother started this. And if care is not taken, this family rift will become wider. Their parents are not also helping issues too.

kennygee: It depends on the woman o. Halle berry had a child in her late 40s, my grand ma had her last child when she was 52, believe it or not. My aunt had her last child at the age of 42 and it was a normal delivery.
. That's a word of encouragement. These days people age earlier than in the days of our mothers. And also Black women are more durable than their white counterparts.
Politics › Re: Miraculous Delivery Of Oga Jonah By Chimamanda Adichie by vislabraye(m): 7:49pm On Jul 19, 2014
blackprowler: My gut feeling has moved to disliking her. She's being given more attention than she deserves by the nigerian press. She's not the only nigerian author. Other Nigerian authors have won more prestigious literary awards than her. Winning the greatest literary award doesn't make you authority over any other subject but the one you know. We have suffered enough mumuness inthis country. I started to see her true self when she commented on Achebe's ill-informed, prejudiced last book. My view on her has subsequently been confirmed by me: she's the younger version of Achebe, all with ethnic bias
. You mean it ?

. What's the breed ? Not all dogs have the guard dog instincts. If you wanted a guard dog, then you should be thinking of a Doberman, Alsation , Mastiff , Rottweiler etc. May be yours is a mongrel. Just have it in mind that U have a pet dog. FoR instance, training a dog like a Basenji to be a guard dog is a waste of time.

Family › Re: Take The Pressure Off The Kids: Why Kids Need To Play by vislabraye(m): 6:30pm On Jul 18, 2014
eleojo23: The central idea is to allow kids to engage in play whether indoors or outdoors. Some neighbourhoods make it impossible for kids to play outside (say security concerns). Indoor plays with their siblings and friends can be a good alternative provided they are monitored to prevent turning the whole house upside down (you know what I mean)
. Playing outdoor is so important. I thank God because we used to live in a big compound 100m by 100m. We used to run 100 meter race with my friend, play football, do back flip, hunt lizards, set traps for cats, climb trees to mention but a few. These when I see the way kids grow up, I shake my head. The compound their mansion is built on is just the size of our garden. No space at all. On top of that their parents feed them with so much junk food that they are now obese. Parents push their children so hard such that they have little time for social activities or exercise. I once worked in a school where the children received heaps of homework to do at home. When it was mid-term break, if you see the load of homework these primary school children were given, you'll think its for a university undergraduate doing his thesis. For a mid-term break of 3 or 4 days, they collected maths problem for a whole term. ( Sorry there's no paragraph).
