MENELIK11:^^^ To call someone an unbeliever may not necessarily be termed an insult. Taken literally it means someone who doesn't believe in what someone else believes in. Without knowing it, you may have highlighted the key differences in belief systems up there. It is entirely possible for a human being to label someone else an unbeliever without causing mayhem, as you put it. Must mayhem be part of the equation? ![]() |
![]() Funny and slightly entertaining thread. A lot of wishful thinking and vague generalizations but precious little in terms of concrete plans. Those who actually asked the important questions (about how disintegration - if it is what we want - can be negotiated with the least pain to all) were derided and shouted down. People need to remember that the devil is in the details! There was a constitutional conference a while ago. What came out of it? Were its recommendations implemented? Was that conference a waste of time because it was not carried out by lawmakers and had no legal force behind it?There was a lot of talk about a sovereign national conference a while ago. What came out of all that talk? The promoters of that idea are still with us today. Why have they suddenly gone quiet on their pet project? Those who believe in a functional properly structured federation need to tell us how to migrate from the dystopian hell we are in now to where they want us to be. Those who believe in disintegration need to tell us how to achieve this with the least pain to all parties. Those who believe in a confederation of states need to make a clear and detailed case for how they want to achieve their objectives. Those who favour a return to the regional governments of 60 years ago need to state clearly how we will get there. Give way to the man (or woman) with a plan. |

![]() The other two gentlemen in the picture look angry... |
koladebrainiac:^^^ Again, I say no sir. The claim that tinubu is suffocating Lagos is not a baseless one. Just one example will suffice - how can state lawmakers legislate a privately held enterprise as a 'revenue monitoring agent' into perpetuity more or less? And yes I am referring to that shameful episode with Alpha Beta Consulting. Who was behind that move? Is that ethical? . You ask what we want Tinubu to do? Simple: He should be honest enough to admit that the administration he played no small part in bringing to power has failed, full stop. His party and the government it underpins have failed the thousands of Nigerians killed or maimed in the violence taking place across Nigeria. That's all. |
koladebrainiac:^^^ No sir. The writer of the 'epistle' made his case point by point with clear examples to support his argument. He did not in any way claim that Tinubu's failure to carry out his 'reconciliation assignment' was evidence of his hypocrisy. Read the epistle again. |
OP, You definitely know good design. ![]() One of my biggest regrets is not being able to own or get familiar with any one (just one!) of those mad, delightfully engineered Citroens. Great thread!! |
radautoworks:^^ Ok. Thanks. |
Pipedreams:^^^ OK. Thanks. |
Pipedreams:^^^ Can you give some details? I searched that road all the way from the Ajah bus stop to the round about but none of the petrol stations (Total, NNPC, MRS, NIPCO) on both sides of the road had any idea. |
radautoworks:^^^ The vehicle is my wife's. Will find out which catalytic converter needs replacement and will get back to you. |
radautoworks:^^^ Thanks. Prices are nerve/artery popping but we'll see what we can do. No quote for the cat? |
Do you stock catalytic converters and fuel pump assembly for 2006 & 2007 toyota corollas (1ZZ FE engines)? |
AutoElectNG:^^^^ Ok. Thanks. Will send you the VIN once I am able to get it. |
AutoElectNG:^^^^ Thank you Autoelect. We are not sure but I and others trying to troubleshoot this matter think we have unravelled the mystery. The vehicle has hill start assist so we suspect that is what is kicking in whenever the vehicle is allowed to roll back on a slope. The other Toyota vehicle we tested (but which did not trigger VSC/TRAC lights when rolling back on the slope) for comparison is a Toyota Sequoia (3 UR FE), US specification. The Land Cruiser is a GCC specification vehicle. I'll do my best to get the VIN but that may take some time, unfortunately (vehicle is off site with owner at the moment). While troubleshooting the VSC/TRAC light matter we didn't know any one with a Land Cruiser so that we could compare like vehicles with like. If you do have access to a Land Cruiser of the same specification and model year I would be very interested in knowing if it behaves the same way. Edit: Three weeks ago, the vehicle's front brake caliper (passenger's side) developed a leak (some obscure seal in the assembly) and mechanic advised replacing both front calipers. This was done promptly (with much financial pain) . Apart from this no other work has been done recently. The vehicle also has some "driveline/drivetrain thump" which Land Cruisers are apparently notorious for but the owner is too tired to tackle that problem yet. |
omoelerin1:^^^ ![]() Typical. Nothing to say about the points I raised. Just more of the same - the party/government propaganda line. My mistake was not checking your previous posts to have an insight into your mindset - before calling you out on this thread. Have a good day, Sir/Madam. |
omoelerin1:^^^ Politicking in the face of failure. I don't know your motives for starting a shitstorm but the truth will set you free. The Lagos State VIS failed to discharge its responsibilities and that's how that tanker was allowed to get on that road to kill people. That is all there is to say about this. Spare us the nonsense about 'brilliance', 'enlightenment' and all the other drivel you have up there. Let the grieving bury their dead in peace!! |
babaolofin:^^^ ![]() This is not the time and place for image laundering. Those people did not have to die. There is an agency called the Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) (http://www.dvis.lg.gov.ng/about.html). It is a directorate in the state ministry of transportation. One of its stated duties is "ensuring all vehicles plying roads are roadworthy at all times". If the Vehicle Inspection Service was doing its job, that tanker would not have been allowed on the road. It is beyond callous for you to casually state (as you did above) that Lagos is 'working' and "that is why the casualties are not much". ![]() There are times when silence is prudent. Let the grieving bury their dead in peace. |
AkpaMgbor:^^^ Sir/Madam, You came late to the party ![]() I stopped agitating years ago when I couldn't explain why: Some cultures call them riot police. We call them 'kill and go' Some cultures call it rat poison. We call it 'kill and dry'. Some cultures call it grilled/barbecued fish. We call it 'point and kill'. And so on. There are many more examples. I'm sure you get the general idea... |

owomida1:^^^ ![]() Interesting. In a prior thread you claimed to be a married man and you posted at length about how the negligence and indifference of hospital staff nearly had serious consequences for your pregnant wife. Anyone would think you were an adult in the true sense of the word. Yet here you are casually justifying rape and sexual assault with some poorly disguised metaphors. Rubbish. ![]() |
rentAcock:^^^ ![]() You "won't blame the victim" but you ask why she decided to "rent a room with a single man". If you are not blaming the victim what are you doing then? |
korlarh:^^^^ ![]() And in your other posts you ask for God's intervention to stop killings and tanker fires. Your own words shall stand against you. |
xcolanto:^^^ Agreed. But it would be a mistake to let that fact cloud the reality that these gunrunners are hard at work across the entire country. If these two men with guns robbed or shot me on the highway in Eastern or Western Nigeria I wouldn't be comforted because gun running is rampant up North. No. |
. |
xcolanto:^^^ This is not Northern Nigeria. |
900warriorz:^^^^ ![]() How do you know they are Beninoise? This is in Ibadan. |
![]() Very revealing comments. Propaganda is alive and real. The Fashola administration built those monstrous roundabouts (that have been taken down) and ignored the calls to remove or modify them despite clear evidence that they were adding nothing to the equation. Reason? The roundabouts were being used to sell advert space to earn revenue for the state government and that was all that mattered - the motoring public and pedestrians be damned. So called 'experts' and 'authorities' weighed in then with their dubious claims that the roundabouts were an absolute necessity. But were they? Today those roundabouts are no more. Any long time user of the roads on that axis will confirm that traffic improved significantly after the removal of those roundabouts - although the Ambode administration is proving to be just as poor as the BRF administration in finding a COMPLETE solution - and as such the traffic problem on that axis is nearly back to square one. The point we must not forget is that we don't all have to be 'gurus', 'experts' and 'authorities' before we notice local problems that can and do have simple solutions. |
