ABDULADINO: If he is in the truth in the first instance, he wouldn't have wandered from the truth.
They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us. (1 John 2:19)
The siliness is appalling So was James out of his mind to tell us of the brother wandering from the truth? Why does he tell us the brother wanders from something he never was in?
Let's look at your 'exposition' of 1 John 2:19 1. It means nobody can tell who is saved or not by their PRESENT behavior. You ABDULADINO may fall off tomorrow yet you have fantasies of being Elect. This contradicts 1John 3:7,8,10;2:3,4;Matthew 7:16,17 2. To say that the backslider was never saved is to say that a true Christian will ALWAYS obey God and never backslide
ABDULADINO: James addresses "my brothers" and says in verse 5:20, "he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins."
Although the verse is addressed to "brothers," i still maintain that not all among the brethren are necessarily saved. The fact that the brother had his soul saved from death and it covered a multitude of sins tells us that the "brother" was never saved in the first place. If he had been saved, his sin would have already been covered by faith in Jesus.
That is how wearing Calvinist shades blind your eyes. The brother WANDERS FROM THE TRUTH. He must have been in the truth in the first place.
Leviticus 20:13 (AMP) 13 If a man lies with a male as if he were a woman, both men have committed an offense (something perverse, unnatural, abhorrent, and detestable); they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Has anybody seen this charlatan? Don't delude yourself that he is in the mountain fasting for you. He us on the run from justice. He is not in the country.
Buhari should jail him for 10 years and let the hardcore booty warriors loose on his rear
Gospels: please can you take a deep breath and explain what you meant
When you dish out prophecies right left and center couched in ambiguities and generalities and based on common occurrences, you are likely to gerrit once in a while.
For instance, we have had so many school shootings in the West. We also have had attempted hostage cases. You don't need to be a prophet to predict one.
You are also smart enough not to give a time frame. So it may be fulfilled next week or next decade but one.
He 'prophesied' of a train derailment in an Asian country NEAR INDIA. Next thing a derailment in India is flashed as fulfilment.
If you want to catch this crook, just watch the ORIGINAL UNEDITED 'prophecy'. He always edits out embarrassing details in the 'fulfilment' videos
HCpaul: I will not force you to believe. You must hate him because to you is a duty, but to me is salvation. The more persecutions he suffered in the hand of his detractors validate him and causes him to be known.
Point to me any prophet in the bible that your fathers did'nt percecute, suffer, and kill? So is your responsibility.
Why synagouge? Don't forget the spiritual blessings that God has bestowed on us. You hate him, but he overcome you with the love of Christ. Keep going my daddy, till we end up our jorney in paradise.
Am not the one editing videos, he is the one. He said Asian country NEAR India, in the fulfillment, the bit about near is removed. Keep worshiping charlatans
ABDULADINO: Believers do not LOSE their salvation through sinning. Even if the verse was addressed to brothers, not all the brethren are necessarily saved. Ananias and Saphira is an example of such.
You are confused or acting hard to confuse. There is not a remote probability that the verse was addressed to anybody other than believers. Would James go calling sinners his brethren? If they are not saved then they are not brethren in the first place. So, why call them thus? Ananias and Saphira were brethren. Who told you they were not?
Read this verse again James 5:19-20 (ESV) 19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
For somebody to wander from the truth they must have been in the truth in the first place. Sinners don't wander from the truth seeing they were never in it. So the subject here are believers AMONG THEM who strayed and risked death. Note too the death in question is that of a soul and not just the body.
I find this theory of yours of casting aspersions on believers' historical faith on the basis of their current action unreasonable. You for instance were you to fall away and start living in sin. Would we be justified in adjudging you as unsaved ab initio?
If we did, then it means all the present Christians just think they are Christians but the real ones we can only find out in future should they fall away
ABDULADINO: Juxtapose with the Pauline epistle to have a balance. Was The consequence hell? The Bible indicates that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
This means that no sin a believer commits can result in condemnation or loss of salvation. What about "believers" who live in a continual state of sin? Such individuals are hypocrites and not believers at all. The Bible indicates that believers do not practice sin on a routine basis. A direct example of a believer falling into sin, but still retaining his salvation is given by Paul:
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife... hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 5:1, 5)
Paul indicates that the man was committing incest with his father's wife (mother?), yet Paul was still confident that his spirit would be saved. So, a true believer cannot lose his salvation through sin.
On 1 Cor 5:5 , note Paul uses the language of probability, not certainty (MAY.) The goal of handing him over was discipline and reformation to the end that he may repent and his soul saved.
1 CORINTHIANS 5:5 KJ21 deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the Day of the Lord Jesus. ASV to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. AMP You are to deliver this man over to Satan for physical discipline [to destroy carnal lusts which prompted him to incest], that [his] spirit may [yet] be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. BRG To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. CEB At that time we need to hand this man over to Satan to destroy his human weakness so that his spirit might be saved on the day of the Lord. CJB hand over such a person to the Adversary for his old nature to be destroyed, so that his spirit may be saved in the Day of the Lord. CEV You must then hand that man over to Satan. His body will be destroyed, but his spirit will be saved when the Lord Jesus returns. DARBY to deliver him, [I say,] [being] such, to Satan for destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. DLNT you are to hand-over such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, in order that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord. DRA To deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. ERV Then turn this man over to Satan. His sinful self has to be destroyed so that his spirit will be saved on the day when the Lord comes again. ESV you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. ESVUK you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. EXB then hand this man over to Satan. So his ·sinful self will be destroyed [sinful nature will be purged; or body/flesh will be destroyed; or body will be beaten down by sin], and his spirit will be saved on the day of the Lord. GNV Be delivered unto Satan, for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Let me paste that verse again for those who need repetition to gerrit James 5:20 (KJV) Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. James talks of saving his SOUL not body. Do you know what is a soul?
ABDULADINO: Context. Paul warned timothy to ministerial faithfulness. It IS possible to have your faith wrecked by false teachers. To depart is NEVER to fall from salvation but from accurate bible doctrine. The entire context IS not SALVATION.
Why are you wrestling scriptures?
What are consequences of a wrecked faith? God will ship to His side ex-believers devoid of faith?
Try and wrest this as well.
James 5:19-20 King James Version (KJV) 19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
Note James is addressing 'any among you' meaning believers. Also, unlike Paul in 1 Tim 4:1, James explains the CONSEQUENCES. Do you think James had in mind prolonging life when he talks of 'save a soul from death'? Or his understanding of predestination and salvation was deficient?
Charism: 48-year-old South African Pastor Zander Emenogo has been preaching the word of God on the streets for 10 years until the day street thugs waylaid and assaulted him.
Daily Sun reports that the pastor of The Evangelical Christian Assembly of South Africa spent Saturday preaching about drugs, crime and violence, and against Islam in the streets and parks of Joburg. Out of nowhere, two young men stopped him (One Alleged to be a muslim) and told him that he had a big mouth.
The Nigerian-born pastor, a father of two, who has remained undaunted in spite of his experience, now lives in Berea. He said he has to pass on the message whether it offended someone or not.
Read what he narrated to Daily Sun below:
“I go where the Lord leads me. On Saturday I was standing on the corner of Delvers and Claim streets in the CBD.”
“While I was preaching, there were rough guys looking at me. I was scared but I had no choice. I passed on the word of God”.
“I didn’t know I was pushing the wrong buttons as I preached. I only realised that when I was done and preparing to go home.”
“Before I could respond I felt a heavy blow on my head and I fell down. I only woke up four hours later in a hospital bed,” he said.
“When I went back to preach on Monday on other streets I was threatened.”
“A man told me what the guys did on Saturday was nothing compared to what was to come if I didn’t stop what I’m doing. I preach what the Lord tells me.”
“No arrests have been made and the police are investigating,” he concluded.
2 Timothy 4:3(KJV) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears
badnature: yeah that's how our LORD JESUS CHRIST was slapped at the back of his head and ask him if he is indeed a prophet as he claims he should point the person who slapped him, vooks as your great grand fathers tormented prophet of old so shall you but woo on you all
The evidence of tampering with his own prophecy videos, sort of tweaking them to match circumstances is up there. Don't blaspheme Jesus by comparing him to this charlatan. How shameless and mannerless of you!
parisbookaddict: Over 100 humans perished in one mans compund, a man supposedly blessed with the "power" of seeing visions of events before they occur and yet NOBODY is in jail.
Only in nigeria.
He never misses occasion to claim fulfillment whether it be a Cessna that hit a mountain in Budapest or a Priest who choked in Surinam.
I will grant that he may have missed to prophecy the 116 strong human sacrifice for obvious reasons; the guests would have shrines significantly not wanting to be buried in the rubble. But why couldn't he pray for the survivors in hospitals?
christinie: Why is it that once you are very successful many people around you including your extended family members feel uncomfortable around you? They are usually quick to believe/conclude that your success is not ordinary as you must have used people's star/glory? It is so bad that some people now attribute every testimony to the devil. For instance a woman was once accused of using devilish powers to have male children. When most people see people with mansions and big cars they are quick to call them 'ritualists'. People see a very expensively dressed woman walk into a store to buy something and they are scared to give her change because they believe she will use it to syphon their wealth spiritually. Even the extended relatives around you are so scared that you might belong to an unlawful society (secret court) and you will steal their glory. Even in your place of work once they notice you are from a political/influential family they get so scared of you. I don't think God allows such things to happen. I strongly believe that our destiny is in God's hands and that He protects our present and future all the time. Let us do away with fear. God's grace is sufficient for us. Ciao ciao.
2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. God's will is NONE should perish. But they will and some here are saying He opts not to save some dooming them to hell.
5solas: Alright! So that's why you won't admit predestination. It is common with Arminians. No amount of blackmail will keep us from admitting and proclaiming it.
Predestination is of character. God is no respecter of persons Acts 10:34 (KJV) Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him
Predestination of individuals would be respecting or favoring some over others
No one is capable of saving themselves. The beauty of the gospel is that God decided to save some, even though He was under no obligation to save any.
This is both right and wrong. It's true we are incapable of saving ourselves It is false that God has hand picked who to save He has given humanity a lifeline called Calvary. Take it or leave it. Refer to Acts 10:34
True, if you get saved, you saved yourself! And yet for all that, some still get lost.
God has done his bit. Do your bit
And why only the character of the saved?
And sure enough, here, you think Him just!
because He is no respecter of persons. John 7:37 (ESV) 37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water
Acts 2:40 (ESV) 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.
God has done His bit, offered His Son. Do your bit; accept it or perish
ABDULADINO: Lol. What is faith? Peter makes it plain that we are "chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through the sanctifying work of the Spirit for obedience"(1 peter 1:2). Deal with that, then we can move on.
ABDULADINO: No need for greek and semantics. Can the elect's faith be overthrown? Yes from 1 Tim4. U guys quoted. Can the elect lose their salvation?Emphatically NO. Can any elect be in hell?Emphatically NO. Two diff things. The word "elect" means that God chose a person to eternal life before the world began.( 1 peter 1:2).So God knows the end from the beginning.
Stop misusing jargon you barely understand. If God picks some to eternal life, it also means he chose the rest to eternal damnation. God refused to save them yet they are incapable of saving themselves. Not even Jesus dying 1000 times could save them!
God does not predetermine who gets saved, he predetermines the character of the saved
ABDULADINO: You used the word precious faith which is not instant but progessive. Read 1 peter.
Paul uses FAITH. I added precious, remove it and see if it makes a difference. Walk me through this theory of yours of progressive not instant on of these fine days.
From 1 Timothy 4, we can tell what kind of faith they depart from by the context; they will follow doctrines of Devils.
Scripture is clear for christians to see.Paul warned timothy to ministerial faithfulness, lest he cost his hearers the truth and rigtheous living. It all boils down to the five fold (Eph 4:11-14). Because i differ in view with the catholics on doctrinal stand i cannot categorically claim all of them lose their salvation or will end up in hell, likewise protestants, pentecostals etc.
DEPART FROM FAITH has become a thorn in the flesh. Sad
