Lol@ all these irrelevant long epistles. Who saves from SIN? Man or God? There is no middle ground here.
God saves those who want to be saved. Salvation is purely of God but it is a gift conditional on your acceptance.

Isaiah 65:2 King James Version (KJV)
2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

Hebrews 3:7-8 King James Version (KJV)

7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Jesus did not die for a select lucky fellas like you imagine, He died for the WHOLE WORLD. His blood is available for ALL who believe. Claiming that Jesus died for a few is foolish and blasphemous. It charges God with sadism and recklessness.

John 3:16 is clear; the cross is an opportunity for ALL to be reconciled back to God.

Are we still on thishuh? Nawa oo....

Ok lemme say dis... SALVATION once gained can never be lost. You don't lose your Salvation because you sin.... Datz why Paul still addressed the Church of Corinth ( the most carnal church ) as the bride of CHRIST.

There are different levels of commitment among Believers... We have mature and baby Christians. A carnal Christian doesn't lose his Salvation cos he sin. Our Salvation is eternal, its sealed by the Holy Spirit until Rapture. It is only lost by denouncing CHRIST which is impossible, its very rare. Some Christians might not be as committed as they were before, but that doesn't mean they have lost faith in CHRIST. Some people might say these Christians have back-slidden but their faith in CHRIST is still there.

@An2elect2 , my sister i think you don't have to argue with @Vook again. Two of you will never agree. You are a GRACE Believer like me and he is a WORKS believer. If he believes its his Works dat saves him, all well and good. Let Him keep to his belief. On the last day He will know the Truth. GRACE is the person of Jesus.

What is the meaning of GRACE? UNMERITED FAVOUR...

Plz lets stop this argument..... the WORKS Believers will never accept our message of GRACE... and we cant accept theirs too.
Nobody is saved by works.
The merits of the cross, the grace of God are appropriated by faith and repentance. Faith and repentance from dead works is not work but condition for accessing this grace.

Listen,
Your concept of grace is confused.
If Jesus died and saved some as a result, then even the very preaching of the cross is unnecessary. Why do they need to hear the gospel?

Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. God does not magically deliver sinners from hellfire, they MUST hear the Word, and after hearing, they MUST believe. So salvation is conditional on these.

And after believing, they MUST remain in Christ. Your salvation is conditional to your living faith.

vooks is a trouble maker, i am used to his posts. grin

Sometimes i think regeneration goes a long way in helping us understand sound biblical truths.

All i see here, are proud men who want to have a sense of control in 'their salvation'. They are okay with another Jesus that only makes man savable and not THE ONE that has come to save men who are dead in trespasses.
The dead in their trespasses can still sin, and they can hear Jesus voice.

John 5:25 King James Version (KJV)
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

@ABDULADINO, my brother u get time to still dey argue with these peoplehuh? They will never agree with you, so don't bother. Since you have known the Truth, don't bother yourself with dem. My happiness is that they are Believers, so they will make Heaven on the last day. But since they believe its their WORKS dat saves them until Rapture, so be it grin Don't stress yourself. They will understand later.

If its by WORKS that we are SAVED or that we can lose our Salvation after being SAVED, then mankind will be doomed cos nobody will make it. It is by the GRACE of God through faith. God chose us the elect from Eternity past and it is Him dat preserves us till the end. It will be hard for Human Comprehension but everything will be clear when we cross over to Eternity.

God promised us Eternal life through salvation and for that Eternal life to be lost will make God a liar, which is not possible. So a Believer can never lose His Salvation.

I now declare this thread closed.....
You make God a liar for denying the very words of our savior. I really pity the deluded who think after a historical confession, imagine their eternity is sealed regardless of how they live.

Jesus will spit you out of your mouth, he will blot you out of the book of life, and worse, He will tell you to depart from him on the llast day.

Salvation is simply new life conditional on your faith. You drop your faith and you die again. Be warned.

I don't want to be comforted by false hopes

Romans 8:28-39 is unequivocably clear that it is God's faithfulness that keeps them, not their faithfulness. God predestinated His elect to adoptions as sons through the purchase price of Jesus Christ's death. It is impossible for even one to be separated from God's love and that is why i said God preserves the elect by His grace and integrity in Jesus Christ. It isn't difficult to comprehend Romans 8:28-39.

Scholar8200:
I believe it is based on probability; if you consider some on which a similar discipline was meted for example Hymenaeus and Alexander:

1 Timothy 1:19b,20
19 Holding fast to faith ([c]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence) and having a good (clear) conscience. By rejecting and thrusting from them [their conscience], some individuals have made shipwreck of their faith.
20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan in order that they may be disciplined [by punishment and learn] not to blaspheme.

But did they learn from their sufferings and change their ways? NO! And subsequently, they were to be avoided:

2 Timothy 2:16-18
16 But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness.
17 And their teaching [will devour; it] will eat its way like cancer or spread like gangrene. So it is with Hymenaeus and Philetus,
18 Who have missed the mark and swerved from the truth by arguing that the resurrection has already taken place. They are undermining the faith of some.

Meaning such disciplines are meted out with the hope that such an one repents but if they persist...
Excellent.
This implies the disciplining exercise is supposed to procure life. Could we say this if these guys ALREADY had eternal life? If they already they possess eternal life, what value does the punishment add?

I have been meditating on this particular verse. Let's look at it

1 Corinthians 5:4-5 King James Version (KJV)
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

I had indicated that Paul employed PROBABILIY and not CERTAINTY, but this is not apparent from some translations.

New thoughts;
Regardless of the version you use, there is a clear relationship in v5 between 'delivering such to Satan for destruction of the flesh' and 'the spirit may be saved'

Delivering causes salvation. If this man was a believer whose salvation could not be lost, his spirit would be saved on the day of the Lord Jesus regardless of whether they handed him to the devil or not.

Why then is this subsequent (after he had believed and fallen) act of handing him over associated with his salvation?

We don't have to agree on whether salvation can be lost or not but we can laying our biases and doctrinal shades derive all the truth communicated in this verse.

I really have tried avoiding you... Zac was a giver, smarty.

I've really tried to avoid you.. But, let me just drop this...

Bill Gates, for example, is an atheist, he's done so much philanthropy around the world,.. That's God's permissible will.. . God's principles of giving and receiving is for all.. Bill, however cannot cast out devils or heal the sick... Etc... Now, can you please stop quoting me?
I take that back on Zaccheus. Don't you wish Oyaks gave half of his wealth to the poor instead of the urban legend of $1M?

Jesus,Paul and James blasted the wealthy. Obviously if the ultra-rich got there by their giving, there would have been no need to confront their attitudes.

Point is, there is zero biblical proof that givers never lack. Those are mantras that have been drilled down on you by your p!mp-pastas.

Please note your theology favors giving your pastas not charity

Bill Gates ventured into philanthropy once he was rich. So philanthropy has not made him rich. He started out in 2000 when his foundation was launched. By then he was a multi-billionaire. And he is catholic not atheist.

God's 'permissible will' is your silly excuse for inconsistencies your theories run into real life. You have been told by Jesus Himself that He makes His rain to fall on the just and the unjust. Think China ascendancy to global dominance. Has it got anything to do with their giving? When last did you hear of Kung Fu Aid?

Givers never lack, and because I have no cash in my pocket does not mean I'm broke or poor. My bible says, if the cloud be full of rain..... Go search out that scripture.
Jesus was neither rich nor poor. Because of his commitment to public ministry, he lived off charity.

It's funny that people who have NOTHING can't be said to lack. I wonder what lack means to Gombs

And finally, the GIVE, you can bet Jesus was not telling church sheeple to give offerings seeing he was addressing his disciples. In all likelihood he was talking about charity and not ministerial support

GIVERS NEVER LACK

Really?it's usually said to encourage people to give with the idea that those who don't lack are that way because they give.

Have you checked Luke12:16,20-21

Luke 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
Luke 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Luke 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Also

Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
Luke 16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
Luke 16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

He wasn't giver.

Also

Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Mark 10:22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

He sure wasn't a giver.

1Tim 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
1Tim 6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

These guys were already rich but were just been taught to give and show good works!.

Let's check some givers;

-Paul
Act 20:34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. He had neccesities, which he supplied by working with his hands not via sowing seeds.
Phillipians4:11-12,14

Php 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Php 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Php 4:14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.
.

Paul lacked! And other believers met his needs.

-The church is Macedonia

2Co 8:1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
2Co 8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
2Co 8:3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

Givers but yet had deep povery.

-Church in Jerusalem were Givers.

Act 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
Act 4:34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

Act 11:28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
Act 11:29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:
Rom 15:26 For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.

Note:Ensure you read through before acting "voltron" for your pet doctrines! Givers do experience sufficiency and lack!Nothing is wrong with your faith or giving if you experience lack,at times its carelessness, lack of opportuinity, location, economy of country, foolishness, career path etc.!

So,give without your selfish motives being the motivation. Keep giving and keep trusting in the living God to meet your needs not because you gave but because He is your Father!

Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Clear?

Grace to You!
This should be bookmarked by every believer

If ten murderers are convicted and all sentenced to life imprisonment and the president exercises his prerogative right to pardon a prisoner and he orders for the release of lets say five of them, is he responsible for the remaining five who will have to stay with their life term jail? No. The are completely responsible for their evil deeds.

However, the remaining who received mercy will forever be grateful to the President.

Apply this analogy to what we are saying.

You guys who believe in man's choice will not accuse the President of unfairness. Why? because He is not responsible for the crimes of all them and would have simply allowed all to rot in jail, but out of his constitutional right/power he pardoned five.

It is the same for the sinner and salvation. All of us are by nature children of wrath but God because of His love according to His sovereign will decided to have mercy on those whom he had chosen.

We speak the truth, and you attack us? May you see.

This is a classic example of proof texting. Quoting scriptures out of context to drive a weak point home. It is also known as Gish galloping; overwhelming your opponent with too many points at a go and interpreting their inability to respond as fast as vindication of your position.

Let's look at your statements
An2elect2:
God's gifts are not conditioned on man's choice/will. They are given freely to all of them who believe by saving faith in Christ in concert with God's sovereign choice.
This is a contradictory statement. Break it down.
1. Gifts are 'not conditioned on man's choice'.
2. Gifts are freely given to all of them who believe by faith in 'concert with God's sovereign choice'

Note the condition in #2 of 'believing by faith'. It means those who don't believe or 'believe by faith' can't access the gifts cool
Unless of course you think 'believing by faith' is equally part of these gifts. You subscribe to this.

If believing is a gift from God, why would he be angry at disbelief yet He is the one who has denied them this gift of 'believing by faith'?

In each of these instances, there is clear disappointment at resisting the truth or unbelief;

Mark 6:6 (KJV)
And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Matthew 23:37-39 (KJV)
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Acts 7:51 (KJV)
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

2 Timothy 3:8 (KJV)
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

You don't get, man is incapable of receiving the things of God. You have to understand the nature of man before considering his choice/will. Pray tell, where does his choice spring out from? Will he choose against his heart desires. No.
why is resisting the truth a problem God has with these people in the above-shared verses yet only He can irresistibly draw men to Him?

Everything boils down to your lack of understanding of the nature of man. If you understand the spiritual dearth lurking in every man, you will throw away the heresy of free will. grin Start from the root and you wont get to this laughable conclusion of "its our choice" smiley
You lack understanding of God's sovereignty and your poor attempt at gasping it makes a god a monster who torments in hell forever men precisely for denying them the only ticket out of hell.

God's sovereignty includes binding Himself by decisions of men. Study Genesis. God allowed Adam to name animals. God stood by and let him do it. That is exactly how God treats men. He can influence everything under the sun but He allows choice including rejecting Him and accepting him

ABDULADINO:
Yes Paul admonishes to flee, a mature believer attacks such thoughts with the word of God before it becomes full blown. But for a babe in Christ who falls into such temptations, does that lead to his loss of salvation?

The blood of Jesus cleanses us from ALL sin. Preaching and teaching condemnation is a deadly and demonic doctrine.

Fornication doesn't lead to loss of salvation.
You miss the point which is human responsibility. If we are not responsible whatsoever then these admonitions should be directed at whoever (God) is responsible.

If preaching Christ is demonic, so be it

John 15:6 (KJV)
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

James 5:19-20 (ESV)
19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

James too was demon possessed for telling us we would save the sinning believer's soul from death.

Hebrews 10:26-31 (ESV)
26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. 29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The Author of Hebrews too was demon possessed.

Only this amateur theologian has Holy Spirit it seems. I wonder why God never thought leaving a slot for him in the canon to pen one or two books
