1 Timothy 2:1-2King James Version (KJV)

2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

I had my reasons for not supportin Buhari, but I know better than to sit here and sulk. He is our president for now. Let's pray for him and his government.

One thing I can assure you is, HE WILL DISAPPOINT.

Mark my words, bookmark this thread, let's exchange notes in 24 months.
You will start by giving him 'time to settle', move on to ignoring his failures, then making excuses such as blaming GEJ, West, world economy, and any other scape-goat, and finally you will keep convincing you that he is 'better' than GEJ.

After all has failed, you will come back here and thank me.

PS: Am no prophet, just a rational Negro. Temper your expectations. Great Expectations make Frustrated men.

I just can't explain it.

The front page is full of bad news, young girls and boys used for ritual purposes , 400 women/girls murdered in cold blood in Iraq, Boko Haram wipes half a town off the map , family break down , multiplication of pretenders , fake people , users and abusers, religious freaks wrecking havoc all over the place, diseases, weather disasters etc.

How can the world be such a haven of injustice, one part of the world vomiting out food (bulimia ) while the other part struggles to eat 2 square meals. Fathers killing sons and sons killing fathers. Churches now almost brothels or places of abuse and fraud, the same place where people are supposed to find peace and succour has also become grossly evil and mostly business centres.

I am really struggling to understand why a good world has become so evil , and please don't feed me with that ' the reason for this evil is the devil ' crap , after all God destroyed the early world because of the wickedness of man and not the devil.

Who do we run to in these times of turmoil and extreme evil huh

Can't think of any. But I recall once in a Catholic Church enjoying incense while at the same time fearing the body in the coffin would come to life like in Dracula movies.

I am not looking for a job at the moment.

Anyway, the pay for this job does not seem to be so attractive, since it is a low-level civil service job. I am sure that there are better paying jobs in Saudi Arabia to be had.

BTW, the 'stoning of the devil' ritual is only carried out during the Hajj. But being able to perform umrah regularly will be a plus sha, not to talk of performing salat regularly in the Mecca mosque (depending on where one is posted too).

Thanks for the link anyway.
They can try and raise the pay. What happens if the devil is stoned on other days?
Christianity Etc › Abuamam, A Job For You In Saudi Arabia by vooks(op): 8:44am On May 19, 2015
With this, you can be stoning the devil daily to kill time in between executions
Saudi Arabia is advertising for eight new executioners, recruiting extra staff to carry out an increasing number of death sentences, usually done by public beheading.

No special qualifications are needed for the jobs whose main role is “executing a judgment of death” but also involve performing amputations on those convicted of lesser offences, the advert, posted on the civil service jobs portal, said.

The Islamic kingdom is in the top five countries in the world for putting people to death, rights groups say. It ranked third in 2014, after China and Iran, and ahead of Iraq and the United States, according to Amnesty International figures.

A man beheaded on Sunday was the 85th person this year whose execution was recorded by the official Saudi Press Agency, compared to 88 in the whole of 2014, according to Human Rights Watch (HRW). Amnesty said there were at least 90 executions last year.

Most were executed for murder, but 38 had committed drugs offences, HRW said. About half were Saudi and the others were from Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Jordan, India, Indonesia, Burma, Chad, Eritrea the Philippines and Sudan.

Saudi authorities have not said why the number of executions has increased so rapidly, but diplomats have speculated it may be because more judges have been appointed, allowing a backlog of appeal cases to be heard.

Political analysts say it might also reflect a tough response by the judiciary to regional turbulence.

A downloadable pdf application form for the executioner jobs, available on the website carrying Monday’s date, said the jobs were classified as “religious functionaries” and that they would be at the lower end of the civil service pay scale.

Gombs:
How? When? Where?
Proof please... From the Bible cool ...

To commute with the Father.

In John 14:12–14, we discover one thing that God intends for our life by reading what Jesus said about the power of prayer. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

I would to God you understand what lies in the above. JESUS first talked about fellowship, communion and partnership... Then it talks about asking and receiving. Sadly, Most folks turn it the other way around, or they just ask, and ask and ask... Like God exists for by them, instead of them for God

I'm yet to see any scripture that remotely suggests that we received power because we prayed for it. To be clear, the Holy Spirit brought the power of God to every Christian the moment they received the Holy Spirit. When we pray, we commune with the Godhead, we make power activated to effect change, we stir up the gifts of God in this way- when we pray.

Kindly answer my questions. Thanks

Simple question o... Did you pray to God to give you power?

Let me make it easier, did Jesus or Paul or any apostle pray to get power? Put this scripture in perspective

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Acts 10:38

Gombs,
You have power whether you pray or not.
But prayer activates that power
Which means without prayer that power is of little use to you.
Which boils down to prayerlessness=powerlessness
