TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Vooom: 9:11pm On Aug 10, 2021
Thank u so much.

5 years is really a lot though.
I only gat no choice

been thinking about these apprentiships in technical or non techncal areas

still not sure how it works or if i can get sponsorship'
dupyshoo:
I totally understand how you feel. Was in similar situation when I was on Tier 2. I was so miserable Not health related job though. It was difficult for me to change job due to sponsorship. Had to endure for 5 years. That is history now as I have changed my profession twice now since ILR. I reject offers now. So, if you are able to endure, I will advise you, like someone said in previous posts that you start working towards the required certification/qualifications for the jobs you want. Look for vacancies in those areas you mentioned and start preparing yourself for the roles.

Meanwhile, you should also try to apply for vacancies in the type of roles you mentioned if you think you meet the requirements. The worst you will get is rejection. This will in no way affect your current job but will give you experience of how to answer interview questions.

The summary of my advice is this: keep chasing your dream job, don't give up. Don't be afraid of rejection.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Vooom: 6:17pm On Jul 30, 2021
My situation may not fit in

Many find it beautiful
But majortiy are hanging on to ILR as the job/risk doesn’t equate the pay

Many aren’t motivated rather just working as per 9ja don cast and make another passport enter hand

My advise
Choose a location you can feel as homely in
Choose a unit you are previously familiar with it helps you transit more easily. Network via the many Nurses/Drs grps so you learn and stay informed.

SamReinvented:
Hello! If you don’t mind, can you please give first hand experience of what you feel? I have a family member who is a nurse and just started the process to immigrate to the UK. Would be nice to hear the “dark side” of things in NHS.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Vooom: 6:12pm On Jul 30, 2021
Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Still have a long way to ILR

reasoning changing job role within the NHS to one i am better interested in or even moving to a more exciting location

ABI MAKE I JUST MARRY KUKU TURN DEPENDENT

my head just spinning
Ace2013:
I understand where you are coming from. Best bet would be to plan your gradual transition through volunteering weekends/additional side study and development in what you really want to do whilst still working in the NHS so that upon qualification of ILR, you can then make your move without needing any sponsorship depending on how long you have left to qualifying. Move to NON CLINICAL roles might require you to join private companies who might sponsor but some can even be worse off. You are not alone, I know someone who isn't getting the same feeling of satisfaction you are referring,Goodluck.

Edit: I can see from your previous post that you have been here only 7 months - I weak as my advise won't work in this case.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Vooom: 6:09pm On Jul 30, 2021
Public health kinda jobs
Program design and management
NGO sorta stuffs
Not sure if i have communicated whats in my head.
dupyshoo:
Health care related roles seem to be the easiest route to get Silled Work visa sponsorship. However, what exactly do you want to do? That might help to offer advice.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Vooom: 3:03pm On Jul 30, 2021
They sure do
So ling you meet your professional requirements

Will the NHS be encouraged or glad to issue CoS to other Nigerians back home who are wishing to work for the NHS?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Vooom: 8:35pm On Jul 29, 2021
MY people good evening.

Please I need suggestions.
I am a Nurse in the NHS
currently on a long duration online Masters

I need ideas on other organizations I could fit into
The NHS is not giving me the much desired happiness and sense of satisfaction

Looking towards NON CLINICAL job roles where i could still get a Tier 2 sponsorship

I do not mind having to do some training just to fit in better

Ideas and suggestions would be appreciated
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Vooom: 8:17pm On Jul 29, 2021
YOU CAN WLK IN.
BUT YOU GONNA PAY 120 POUND AS POST.

I DID SAME LAST MONTH

IF YOU WAIT TO GET A DATE YOU PAY 20 POUND BUT THAT GETTING THAT DATE WOULD NOT COME IN 2YEARS TIME
Olinga:
hello family

Please I need answers as I am stock at the moment.

I applied for international passport renewal in April, paid and did everything online.

My issue now is the next steps for capturing. Do I proceed to their office in London without prior booking for capturing or will they still send my booking appointment to me. This is July and my passport expires in November this year.

Thank you.

P.S I am currently in Scotland

If you are sure you need the money for mortgage, then go for Lifetime ISA. You can save up to £4000 every tax year and get up to £1000 top up from the government. The only constraints is that you will be charged 25%of the amount withdrawn, if you use the money for something else apart from mortgage or for retirement. In a way, it will make you to be intentional about saving for mortgage.

Please read more about LISA before signing up for it.

Please guys advise

I need savings scheme that would be profitable to me
Hopefully to save deposit for a house

Been here 7months now
Got really poor balance in my account

I am very comfort minded
Probably that made me get some items that i needed
New devices, empty apartment which i had to furnish (gotten almost all i need in it now)
Rent and house bills about 600monthly

Leaving me with 1000 more from my monthly pay.

I can say i have gained my “balance” at the minute

No thanks to passport renewal that blew about 400 quids from me.(application, transport and air bnb to London and postal code fee)

Honestly if I continue this way, may not have much to show even 5 years after. Im single by the way

Kindly help with some financial advise.

Charing cross ..... 2 minutes walk....

Embankment station ...... 1 minute walk.....

Look for a travel inn or Travelodge, around elephant and castle, it should be cheaper than closer to the high commission.....

Zdig:
Hiya, I just did Biometric Capture on Tuesday 8/06/2021. I applied and made payment October 2020. Passport to be posted to me via Royal Mail, so fingers crossed. My experience at the High Commission was surprising; well organized and no delays, was in and out in 1 hour. There is also the Fast Track provision now, just cost £100 more. All the details of requirements and process are here:http://www.nigeriahc.org.uk/. Cheers

TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Vooom: 6:42am On May 28, 2021
Did you get a date and time or you walked in?
The postal order is gotten from where?
Inkredible:
Actually there’s two. Just found that out today surprisingly.

Finally figured out it’s the one at charring cross.

Ps: To anyone going for passport renewal today, you’ll need a Postal order or £20. They started requesting that today.

Good morning All! Please has anyone been informed to proceed to the Nigerian embassy for enrollment after payment on their Innovate 1 platform?

I applied for a passport renewal and paid the fee on the innovate 1 platform. After 2 days the payment went through and I was sent a mail to go for enrollment at the embassy in London without any link for appointment. Can I go the embassy without any appointment? Has anyone gone through this process recently? I expect your kind suggestions.

Have a nice day Everyone

I have not been able to get around it. The process, according to the information available on the website, requires all applicant to have an appointment date. I hope to get one soon.

So I speak in 3rd party as I never saw the email but hearsay

My hubby applied in August and said he just heard back from Nigeria embassy last week asking him to come this week for capture..however in his case he was giving a date and time. Then I asked that but how does naija embassy know if that time is OK by the applicant and he said somewhere in the mail states that if that time is not suitable then you can come anytime within a 2 weeks time frame.

So I am telling you as I heard without seeing the mail. The last part makes me conclude that you can go there and walk in. Worse case go with a copy of the letter/ mail that shows no time or date given

Even if this is done with a TV?

Like using a TV to watch only Netflix

umarwy:
You can avoid TV licence if you don't watch live TV.

Just apply online and tell them you watch Netflix and play Fortnite on your TV.

I have never paid TV licence

Thank you

Please before your appointment what sort of mail did you get?

The one I got didn't bear a date only said I should proceed to London Office for enrollment with the same documents you listed.
Though a self addressed envelope wasn't added

Not sure what to make of it

Any help?
EmmyKing86:
Hi everyone.

So, for those of you waiting for a passport renewal appointment, remember to print your passport payment slip, acknowledgment slip & application form (signed).

My experience today was not different from my last appointment in January 2016. The customer service is non-existent. The people attending to me were quite rude, impatient, and angry. The offices have not changed and the waiting area was rowdy with nobody observing social distancing. My initial appointment was on the 12th however, upon arriving at Victoria coach station on the 11th I received a cancelation notification and a reschedule till today. I had to go back to Swansea and book my hotel room again.

What still surprises me is that in 2021 we are still dealing with printing paper and submitting paper applications and after biometric capture, you still have to fill another form. There has to be some sort of digital innovation that would make the whole process hassle-free for both staff and customers.

No date and time. I expect a mail with date and time. Those who have renewed passport previously should please provide guidance. Thanks in anticipation
