Beautiful response. Small money for for so much work The Msc program would likely limit u to just UK (not sure 100%) trust me many international nurses here are making moves on USA and Canada or change fields because the money too small and the work system de quite rigid for some people Observe things first before jumping in LagosismyHome: I saw you tagged me in another post with the same content. . ... I am always cautious about giving advice on field that are not my direct line of hussle because info I have might be generic or hearsay so please do your own finding
This nursing education means you be on tier 4 dependent and be studying?... if yes, There are currently no restrictions on dependants studying in the UK so that ok. However nursing can be intensive and have placements so you might have to pick a struggle . Money or schooling. If you want to school then it might be hard to work in the care job for let's say full time or 40 hours. If you are financially ok then you both can face the school with minimum need to work
On the issue of bsc or msc. I been told in UK no much difference. Both will get you to the end of entering the door in nursing. However I saw a comment that if you decide to go back to Nigeria then Nigeria might not accept that 2 years msc nursing . Apart from going to naija for uk. I would choose MSC over BSC
My problem with nursing is their pay structure for all the effort involved. I dont think it pays well although there is stability.
I would say maybe you come first as a dependent , stay one or two years, study the uk system and then make decisions based on your first hand experience in UK regarding what best.... when you come as you check for care job , also check other areas in admin or support so you dont limit yourself. You might just get a good breakthrough into an area not even thought about and grow from there |

I relate with your post wallg123: Beating children goes beyond the physical impact ... it destroys them emotionally and psychologically........ a lot of men can’t express themselves emotionally because of the beatings and abuses they received as children ...... Being successful in your career or business doesn’t mean you are normal..... you might be dead emotionally and unknowingly suffering from severe mental health issues ....... I’m also a victim of dead emotions |

Na just to de run small movements around neighborhood Nothing big Use the day pass to run around essential stuffs Chreze: @vooom
Have you considered getting bus pass. I don’t know which part you are in, but since there is lockdown in the uk and you won’t be able to move round, I will advice you set all your journey for one day. That day you get a “day bus pass”, set out early and do all what you want to do that day with the daily bus pass. That way you spend only mayb 4.6p or 5p and do all your runnings. Becos this one wey you won start to learn bicycle for road, make e no turn “Egugun be careful” matter ooo. |

Its a burden i wished one didn't have to carry God help us all Chreze: Truth is there are still people (Nigerians) who are blessings to the world. I read some pages back about a guy that helped someone pay IHS n VISa fee without benefit. I believe things are gonna change. With regards to your fear, after sometime I also believe it will fade off (at least I hope so for myself), but being watchful and vigilant when dealing with Nigerians, I think that’s gonna be in me forever, especially people I don’t know personally. |

Lexusgs430: No protocols...... But for your own safety, buy a helmet, lights (front and rear), if riding at night + reflective top......
Better still, I have a helmet that does majority of the aforementioned...... If you love tech/gadget, get this helmet........
Invest in a lumos bike helmet. With lumos, you can indicate you intentions, constant recurring hazard lights, overhead camera, GPS track your cycling etc etc etc
Other helmets like lumos are available, just do a Google search.......

Thanks so much Any recommendations where to get an affordable bicycle and these equipments you mentioned? Inkredible: Yes you can. I too started with a Bicycle. Get a reflective vest, a helmet and equip your bike with blink/indicator light front and back for visibility (see and be seen). These are vital to have on the bike.
You can get helmet dashcams if your wallet carry am. Just in case of accident and you're not at fault; na to cashout straight.

I can't say why but this almost led to tears One, i empathize with you Two, i feel same way currently though i got to UK some weeks ago... Yet still had a rather shocking experience from a transaction done back in 9ja out of trust. Na small remain i for cancel Nigerians when it comes to business. Feels like wickedness runs in their veins, no human empathy but gross inhumanity. I trust too easily as i feel it makes life less stressful God help me in my future encounters But i do pray you find healing soon enough. Apologies for the gibberish i just typed above Chreze: You are 100% right about me letting go of some trust issues. I lived in Nigeria for the last 2years+ after some time abroad and I had that Nigerian fear brought back in me. I saw the worst for that period. I won’t lie, it gave me a very scary feeling about us. people get friends account abroad and use them for illegal activities without fear of that person getting into trouble. I can be nice, do things and if possible help out in any way I can without getting personal stuff involved. I remember after my first year, my brother noticed that fear and advised I go on vacation at least once a year so as to get that fear out and remember that life is not that difficult. But after vacation, you come back and the next person doing business with you reminds you of how we can be.
I don’t want to justify my fear, but I think part of the reason we remain like this is because, even when we travel abroad, we still want to hang around ONLY our people thinking that’s where help will come from or can come from, forgetting that the reason for going abroad was to learn new things (not excluding making money). Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying our people don’t help, we do help, but I have been helped/assisted by citizens of countries rated low, I don’t think help comes from just your people. I have opened my mind to understand that you will get help/assistance because there are human on earth who have compassion not because you are from a specific part of the world.
I have been burn and I know relative who got burned too. Guess that’s the reason for the fear. One of the major reason why I like nairaland is that I get to see Nigerians help each other selflessly. Trust me if you lived in Nigeria the last 3yrs, you will know it’s not common like it used to be in the past. I don’t know if it’s the hardship in the country that led to our being wicked/heartless or if it’s just something we breath in. But I am happy to see something different on here and it gives me hope that someday we will be more compassionate and loving to not just our people but to human in general.
With regards to black market rate, like I said earlier, I don’t have issues with people making exchange at that rate, making money is not easy and anyone who does, has the right to exchange at whatever rate that makes them happy. Even Nigerian banks don’t give forex at the CBN rate. I personally don’t dig it like I said, it’s me. I believe it alters the HELP offering. Trust me helping has no side attraction, you help and that’s it. If you see most of the reason people come here for need of pounds, it’s because they are in tight corner and desperately in need of one. Giving them at black market rate (that one will not get from the money apps wen sending money to Naija) alters the HELP. To me it’s more like capitalizing on the desperation of the person in need. This is just my personal thought on that.
I am not a saint, I have my own issues too and I try to work as hard as I can to be a better person too. But I believe I am entitled to say things how I see it. I am also open to someone making me understand better the things I may be looking at from a wrong perspective.
Blessings. |

Learnt something similar to this before leaving 9ja Tobexin: This is not true bro. Using your naija ATM in Uk is far more better than exchanging your Naira for pounds. I use my Naira account Atm to do online shopping out here and the rate is very good the last time got N565= £1 while it was 630 In the black market. I think the maximum amount for online transactions is £200 and this differs from bank to bank. ATM withdrawals allows you to withdraw £300 daily and you get a fairly good rate than black market and I think it £3000 monthly! |

I am NHS sponsored too but nothing like that for now Poch: No try am sha... Except you want your bank to charge you incredible rates. Besides there is now a monthly spending limit of about £200 for almost all naija banks.
Best is to find someone to help with your exchange directly... Requires trust too... NHS sponsored Nigerians in certain trusts/regions/agencies etc no too get wahala...cos they usually have their whatsapp/telegram groups where they make these requests...and they help each other out with very fair rates.
If NL has something similar, abeg share with us. |

You cool without doesn't make it normal. Since the other man isn't, it's fine for him to move to where he feels more comfortable We all got different tolerance levels claremont: This is ridiculous. It's natural to stare at others who look different. In Nigeria, white people are stared at because they look different from the majority of the population. It isn't racist to stare at someone. I live and work in a part of the North where I'm often the only black person, and being stared at is perfectly normal. There is nothing inherently racist in it, and it's something we all get used to. |

Alright thanks for responding I only thought I could send naira to those who need to send to their fam in 9ja while I get pounds in return. Do you know about the ATM withdrawal thing? LagosismyHome: Nobody readily wants naira in the UK..... so I think you are better off buying pounds before you travel. That way you dont get here and be stranded |

I intend traveling to UK without buying pound here.
Hope to sell naira for pound there. Is this OK?
I also learnt that I can get out my savings in the 9ja bank by using an ATM in UK which would pay me in pounds
How true is this?
