Politics / Re: Did Anyone See Sanusi & Aganga On Tv Answering Furious Senators? by vorosmartm(m): 8:40am On Dec 02, 2010
I'm happy when i come here and see so many Nigerians making valid arguments for and against but I honestly feel we should take our opinions (duplicate) out of NL and hit hard on FB, we are still too small a number to push hard, If self preservation wont allow us to carry out physical protests, then lets launch it online. For the larger part FB is what we need. If we do not let these politicians know our minds now, they'll continue to take us for granted.

What the national assembly is doing is legalising stealing and the presidency has no constitutional right to ask them to stop- remember they are there to create balance, now I'm not saying the presidency is good.

BOTTOM LINE IS CBN, MIN. OF FIN., DMO AND RMFAC HAVE DONE THEIR PART, ITS NOW LEFT FOR US (THE MASSES) TO LAUNCH AN ALL OUT REVOLT, IF WE REFUSE TO DO IT, NO ONE OR COUNTRY WILL DO IT FOR US

Politics / Re: Lagos Students Create A Fuel-less Power Generator! by vorosmartm(m): 8:58am On Nov 23, 2010
There is nothing special about what the kids did, a manual on how to make that generator sells in the open market for about 30k, it may have dropped drastically since the guy that brought out the idea held massive seminars where he taught people how to build the stuff. Walk into success digest office in Esuola str.  Ago palace way and ask the workers when they first encountered the generator. You will be blown to pieces at how old and ordinary the stuff is.

Now to my pains, Nigeria indeed has a curse of bad leadership that is so acute- I wont be surprised at the end of the day, one smart a55 indian or chinese takes this thing home, modifies a bit and ships it to Nigeria to make annoying profits, and trust our dumb a55 govt. to popularize it then in the name of diplomatic non sense.

This inferiority complex that we have really has to stop! Some time in the future, a good business man will be making money of it and probably have a patent on it while the original inventor licks his wound.

This nairaland self, for how long have people been coming here to say they know how to make this thing, it never made front page but two ministers went to see it duplicated by some idea thieves and it makes front page- Seun or whoever is in charge, I'm totally disappointed!

Guy, if you know what is good for you stay off nairaland with your idea, people here are dream killers, perfect ur design and sell it to a foreign company/ collaborate. I'm also into ur line of productivity. I intend to modify what i bought and patent it then mass produce from china, mind you i also do not have money, u really have to broaden ur business mind if u intend to make money out of ur design.

It has been a success so far without the infrastructure I listed.  . . .Same way it has also been a success without any government largesse. The industry has proven self sufficient so far and it is even undergoing a time of self transformation, all  of its own making. So why oh why should the government start to meddle in its affairs. It will only do more harm than good. What with the spectre of Federal Character and hypocrisy in all its guises that comes with associating with the Federal government, I would advise the Nollywood practitioners to say thanks but no thanks.

And you talk of accelerated growth. . . .Accelerate to where. They tell me it is already number 2 in the world. It isn't going to produce more than India anyway with that country's large population. So where is it going? There are only so many VCD's you can release in a week before you go from being a joke to a complete farce. There has to be a balance between providing employment and maintaining credibility as a creative industry.

And the thing is ,  . when foreign governments subsidise or give incentives to their film industry. It is usually to highlight the country as a suitable location for shooting films or induce tourists to make a visit. So New Zealand offered massive incentives to a Hollywood studio to shoot the latest part of the Lord of the Rings franchise to promote its tourist sites as well as secure it as a location for future film ventures.

It will take more than the Nigerian government can afford to attract any such interest in an environment that is just one rung above war torn Somalia.

They should make the society decent first. . . .Then we might start to talk luxuries such as subsidising Anita Joseph's next bosom job.

Guy, you are strong willed and daft. Talking to you is a waste of time, besides the man has already done it all these highly poisonous colloquies will change nada.

Sorry to say but you are the ignorant one, your ignorance stinks, i wonder how dumb people like you are able to switch on their pc and navigate to NL. Its also obvious you have no biz acumen.

Let me put it to you in ABC. Nigerian interest rates are btw 20-29%, so this film ppl can not borrow from our banks without getting into trouble if the production flops, by the way, i hope u're an adult that can understand and not one smart toddler-just saying, my time is too precious. Back to the story-with a fund like this, producers can have access to loans that probably have no interest on it and if your production flops-i hope you know what production in terms of entertainment means? OK. In case it flops, all you have to worry about is the capital, I'll really love to explain more but i'm sure u're not vast with happenings in developed production circles Hollywood to be precise and we are speaking of nollywood-world no 2. Do you know what that means? to be no 2 in the world in terms of movie production.

Are you into business? Have you ever borrowed from the bank? Have you ever felt the pain of paying exorbitant interest on a loan?

GUY YOU MUST BE A DUFFER TO BE AGAINST WHAT OUR DYNAMIC LEADER IS DOING.

IGNORANT PEOPLE, ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A WAY TO RUN PEOPLE DOWN. IF U WANT TO CRITICIZE, PLS MAKE IT CONSTRUCTIVE. WHO TELL UNA SAY THE MONEY NA DASH, ITS A SPECIALIZED LOAN FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, TEXTILE INDUSTRY HAS ITS OWN, FARMERS HAVE THEIRS. WHY CANT entertainment have its own? after all they are among the people exposing Nigeria to the world the most. Na crime if we truly develope a physical mega studio where world class celluloid productions are made, abi na crime if nollywood develops a physical location? We have a truly dynamic leader for once-not a noise maker, una no go let am work all sectors? PEACE angry angry angry
