hospital complaining of headaches,
weird smells, seizures, and memory

Mashable reports, the doctors did brain
surgery, found the tapeworm, and
removed it.
Now, how did this person get a
tapeworm in his brain? It's because it
wasn't any ordinary tapeworm.
Ordinary tapeworms live in stomachs,
and you can find them in dogs and cats
in the United States because fleas can
carry tapeworm larvae.
This brain tapeworm is a very rare and
different species, called Spirometra
erinaceieuropaei. It lives in some Asian
countries (this patient had recently been
to China) and can be acquired through
eating undercooked frog meat or
drinking contaminated water.
Scientists later sequenced its genome —
the first of this species. They hope to find
clues in its DNA of what kinds of drugs
will best fight it in the future.
They published this tale, and its scientific
results, in the journal Genome Biology
on November 21, 2014.

Neighbourhood access road that constitute largest percentage of our transportation network are mostly unpaved with bitumen and concrete hard surfacing materials. This is largely responsible for instability and poor state of these road.
It can be said that the end in itself is accessibility via motorable and passable road while the means is road surfacing with stable materials.
My take on this is that it is practicable to achieve the objective of accessibility without necessarily having to spend huge money on road surfacing.Yes this can be done with adequate understanding and manipulation of surface construction of our unpaved road. A special treatment of landscape construction of unpaved road can offer us efficient motorable unpaved road.
For example take a good look at the picture in this post shows two unpaved road in the same neighbourhood. It can be observed that one is stable and passable while the other is rugged and rough.
The question is why do we have this situation.
The answer is the solution to the problem of poor state of unpaved road. Watch out for more tips on the solutions.

As I read this the Spirit is leading me to say that, the heathen should not bother themselves challenging the truth about Jesus Christ. Boko Haram: The Mystery Solved

Karl Marx’s thesis that economic conditions determine the basis of existence is yet to be proved wrong. It is one tool I always apply in the course of discovering the real motives behind what people say or do. But I must confess that unravelling “Boko Haram”, which many now call insurgency in the north, has put this scientific method in doubt for the past five years.

Somebody solved the riddle on Wednesday: former Senate president and former minister Dr Iyorchia Ayu. In brief, this is what Ayu said at the 5th Convocation Lecture of the Adekunle Ajasin University:

The oil wealth beneath the Chad Basin is fanning the embers of insurgency in the country because prominent businessmen and politicians in both Nigeria and Chad, in association with French companies, have invested heavily in oil exploration and exploitation. They are the principal financiers of, and arms suppliers to, Boko Haram. The group’s destabilisation of the north-eastern part of Nigeria benefits these investors because it delays exploration and production on the Nigerian side of Lake Chad.

The Lake Chad Basin is estimated to have a reserve of 2.32billion barrels of oil, and 14.65trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The oil and gas flows underground across the countries sharing the Lake Chad Basin: Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroun. Using 3D drilling, Chad is not only tapping oil within its territory but also from Nigeria, to push up its production levels.

Boko Haram is made up of Nigerians and a large number of Chadians from the Chadian provinces of Lac and Hadjer Lamis – provinces that share a long border with north-eastern Nigeria around the Lake Chad region and provide Boko Haram with trained Chadian fighters.

The drying up of Lake Chad, once the largest water body in Africa, is affecting the economic and social life of over 30 million people in the four countries around the lake. This has resulted in the migration of many farmers and herdsmen as well as engineered local conflicts between Camerounian and Nigerian nationals; fishermen are fighting farmers and herdsmen to stop diverting water from the lake to their farms and livestock.

The disappearance of Lake Chad and subsidiary rivers has also created a large population of unemployed and discontented youth who have become a reserve army easily available for recruitment by the insurgents.

So far, Boko Haram has not attacked any territory in Chad but has a cluster of bases in Chad from where it launches its terrorist activities in Nigeria. President Idris Deby of Chad is said to have cordial relations with the insurgents.

The accuracy of Ayu’s postulation could be doubted only by fools. Many of us have often pointed fingers at politicians as those behind terrorism in the country. But Ayu has mentioned the type of politicians – those with economic interests to protect. Therefore, Boko Haram is not sponsored by anyone aspiring to be the president of Nigeria. It is not backed by the PDP or the APC. Also, Boko Haram has nothing to do with Islam or Christianity, north or south. Neither is it a crusade against western education.

The people behind the masks have used all these and other tricks to cause a war that would enable them to corner the oil wealth flowing under the north-east’s soil. Have they really succeeded?

Oil is a curse indeed. From the early days of insurgency in the north-east, the suspicion that some foreign powers were behind it has persisted. The Nigerian government itself seems to know the truth but has done little to tackle the enemy despite the myriad of agencies pretending to be protecting the safety and security of Nigerians and the Nigerian borders. The security agencies seem to be fighting one another because a lot of cash has been made available for the “Boko Haram” war.

A strong Nigerian leader would have since sent troops to overrun Chad or any other neighbouring country that provides a haven for terrorists. If France or any foreign oil company came to the aid of such a country, we would be able to consume both the beans and the weevils inside them. The Nigerian armed forces should work; soldiers exist to fight wars, not to eat pepper-soup or accumulate money with which to contest elections after retirement.

The Black man deserves pity. While the White man looks a century ahead and strives to achieve his goal, the Black man offers himself to be used to destroy his own people. The plot to balkanise Nigeria and steal the oil in the north-east must have preceded the forecast that Nigeria would break up in 2015. For anything that threatens the economic interests of certain powers does not stand. During the Cold War, we learned how progressive leaders in Africa were removed or killed through sponsored coups and counter-coups. In recent times, we have witnessed the overthrow of Muammar Ghaddafi of Libya. Each plot was carried out with the citizens of each country.

It is in this light that all Nigerians should now see the patriotism exhibited by Gen. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu 46 years ago. Many know that the Nigeria-Biafra war was instigated by foreigners, but only a few know that it was also about oil. In the middle of the war, the Soviets approached Ojukwu and asked for a part of Biafra’s oil in return for fighting on Biafra’s side. Ojukwu vehemently rejected the request because he did not want his country to be a theatre of war among the western powers. The federal side gratefully received the British in order to “crush” the “rebels”. Yet, had Ojukwu accepted the Russians’ proposal, Biafra would have survived and perhaps millions of Nigerians more would have been killed.

Compare Ojukwu with the Nigerian businessmen that have been fuelling terrorism in the north-east. While Ojukwu fought in defence of his people, the terrorists of the north-east are killing their own people. It is laughable that a Lagos court had to jail one of those found guilty of financing terrorism for only 10 years. These are people working with foreigners to destroy their country; they have killed almost 20, 000 and displaced millions of people. Their wickedness is made more manifest by the fact that they have been killing and kidnapping students and defenceless villagers.

My gratitude goes to Dr Ayu for solving the mystery surrounding Boko Haram. I have little doubt that the 2015 elections – if they eventually take place – will be the last straw. The invading forces are likely to lavish money on saboteurs and impoverished Nigerians to kill themselves so that this mineral-rich land would be left for them to exploit. Indeed, the heart of man is wicked.

If Nigeria would not work as one nation, let us revisit the idea of confederation. Rather than prepare for polls in 2015, we should implement the National Conference’s report, especially as it concerns the six-state structure. A semi-independent north-east might even decide to merge with its kith and kin in Chad, Cameroun and Niger. Under an effective government, no region would be helpless in defending its people from external aggressors.

The nun looks out the truck and asks why, are you not coming? The priest said he was not. He said he has found where God is. That God was with the suffering and butchered people of Rwanda. He would stay with them. As the truck drives out, a battalion of Tutsi soldiers approach the camp to butcher...

A new piece of malware that can spy on a user’s
computer has been discovered, Wired reports,
with researchers also having found a clever way
for the program to communicate with its
creators: Google’s popular Gmail email service.

Security startup Shape Security says it found a
new strain of malware that’s able to read
instructions from Gmail drafts and respond to
the hacker’s commands without the user
actually noticing anything happening on the
computer.
“What we’re seeing here is command and
control that’s using a fully allowed service, and
that makes it superstealthy and very hard to
identify,” Shape security researcher Wade
Williamson said. “It’s stealthily passing
messages back and forth without even having
to press send. You never see the bullet fired.”
For everything to work, hackers first set up an
anonymous Gmail account, and then infect a
target computer with the malware. After
gaining control of the computer, the hacker
will remotely open an invisible instance of
Internet Explorer in which the Gmail account is
loaded.
Once that’s done, information can be passed
back and forth using the drafts folder. The
malware uses a Python script to retrieve
commands and code entered into the draft
field, and then it can respond in Gmail drafts
and can include the data it wants to steal.
The malware is apparently a variant of an
existing trojan called Icoscript first found by
security firm G-Data in August. Icoscript has
been infecting computers since 2012, using
Yahoo Mail to hide its command and control,
before switching to Gmail drafts recently.
It’s not clear how many machines have been
infected by this malware strain, and there’s no
way of easily detecting it, Shape says.
Google has not said anything about this
particular attack, telling Wired that “our
systems actively track malicious and
programmatic usage of Gmail and we quickly
remove abusive accounts we identify.”

There is a huge difference between a clinical death and legal death.

Cardiac arrest occurs when the electrical system to the heart malfunctions and suddenly becomes very irregular. The heart beats dangerously fast. The ventricles may flutter or quiver (ventricular fibrillation), and blood is not delivered to the body. In the first few minutes, the greatest concern is that blood flow to the brain will be reduced so drastically that a person will lose consciousness. At this stage, the victim is not legally dead. An emergency treatment in the form of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation would see the victim bounce back to life.

Clinical death is neither necessary nor sufficient for a determination of legal death.

You had better go and check the story from the source very well. The story is talking about a conclusion of a detailed scientific study that spanned 4 years and not arm chair theory that we are familiar with around here.

A controversial American biblical scholar is set to make his first appearance in London next week to present a discovery that he claims proves the story of Jesus Christ was invented as a system of mind control to enslave the poor.

Joseph Atwill, who is the author of a book entitled 'Caesar's Messiah: The Roman Conspiracy to Invent Jesus', asserts that Christianity did not begin as a religion, but was actually a sophisticated government propaganda exercise used to pacify the subjects of the Roman Empire.

At the 'Covert Messiah' conference, to be held at the Conway Hall in Holborn a week on Saturday, Mr Atwill will present his theory that the New Testament was written by first-century Roman aristocrats and that they entirely fabricated the story of Jesus Christ.
Outlining his ideas in a blog posting on his website Mr Atwill writes: "Christianity may be considered a religion, but it was actually developed and used as a system of mind control to produce slaves that believed God decreed their slavery."

Mr Atwill says that acts of insurrection by Jewish sects, who were awaiting the arrival of a so-called 'warrior Messiah' in Palestine, were a perpetual problem for the Roman Empire and that after the Empire had exhausted all traditional means of dealing with the problem they resorted to psychological warfare.

"They surmised that the way to stop the spread of zealous Jewish missionary activity was to create a competing belief system," Atwill told PRWeb.com
"That's when the 'peaceful' Messiah story was invented.
"Instead of inspiring warfare, this Messiah urged turn-the-other-cheek pacifism and encouraged Jews to 'give onto Caesar' and pay their taxes to Rome."

Mr Atwill continues: "Although Christianity can be a comfort to some, it can also be very damaging and repressive, an insidious form of mind control that has led to blind acceptance of serfdom, poverty, and war throughout history.

To this day, especially in the United States, it is used to create support for war in the Middle East."
Elsewhere, Mr Atwill also writes: “In fact he [Jesus] may be the only fictional character in literature whose entire life story can be traced to other sources. Once those sources are all laid bare, there’s simply nothing left.”
Atwill says he made his discovery when while studying the New Testament alongside the 'War of the Jews' by Josephus - the only surviving first-person historical account of first-century Judea.
Mr Atwill claims that he began to notice a sequence of parallels between the two texts.

"What seems to have eluded many scholars is that the sequence of events and locations of Jesus ministry are more or less the same as the sequence of events and locations of the military campaign of [Emperor] Titus Flavius as described by Josephus," Atwill claims.
"This is clear evidence of a deliberately constructed pattern", he continues.
"The biography of Jesus is actually constructed, tip to stern, on prior stories, but especially on the biography of a Roman Caesar."

These theories commonly include the suggestion that secret societies, mystery schools and other religions used the fictional story of Christ to unify the Roman Empire under one state religion.

The protest was held at Lagos University Teaching hospital, (LUTH), Idi Araba and headed by Dr. Tope Ojo, Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association.
The medical practitioners say as opposed to the widespread view that they are fighting for increment in remuneration, they are actually agitating for better structures and equipment in hospitals across the country.

I think its unfair to treat our doctors like this and neither also any citizen of this country. However, our doctors need to admit one fact of life that there is no absolute monopoly in life. They need to be advised that no job can guarantee financial independence. They should look forward to business development mentality to achieve their financial independence goal and just take their profession as a calling and service to humanity
