Penguin2: Please, This question is directed strictly to northerners and I would love it if non northerners stay away and let’s get the honest pulse of northerners about an Igbo presidency.
With that said, to my question, by north, I’m talking about Hausas, Fulanis, Tiv, Igala, Nupe, etc. The people from Southwest seem to have made themselves the spokespersons for the north, insisting that the north won’t vote an Igbo man as president but ironically the north has never said so themselves.
So, even though I think we do not have many northerners on this forum, I do believe we have a handful of them. Please help bring us to bay of the reality of northern sentiment towards an Igbo man occupying the highest seat in the land. Can you people vote for Umahi or Peter Obi or Pius Anyim or Orji Kalu, or is the narrative true that you dread an Igbo man in power?
Or would you rather vote a Yoruba man instead of assuaging the tension in the East over clamour for equity and fairness and justice?
Once again, non-northerners should not derail this thread let’s get the unfiltered opinion of northerners.

I find difficult to understand the how an homosapiens would be comfortable to the myth around can someone be leader of a society he belongs because of his tribe. It shows many people who think they are smart are just so so dumb. (I am sorry for the choice of words.)
Workch: It's the sad reality, no one will ever be able to know if God exist or not because it's scientifically impossible
Some few things are impossible in life and science, examples are
1. Attaining absolute zero temperate. 2. An object with mass traveling at the speed of light 3. Look back in time to see what happened before big bang.
No 3 is why we can never know if God exist or not, in science, there's nothing like "before big bang" because time doesn't exist before big ban hence we cannot decipher anything in that realm. There's no mathematical prove to do that, it's simple impossible. Light also didn't exist before big bang, so we cannot see anything within the singularity.
No 2 requires that we create an infinite amount of energy to move such object. It's not possible, the universe doesn't have that amount of energy. The energy in the universe is quantifiable and conserved.
No1 The reason has to do with the amount of work necessary to remove heat from a substance, which increases substantially the colder you try to go. To reach zero kelvins, you would require an infinite amount of work.
Humans will never know if God exist or not. It's as simple as that. This is specifically why I don't know if a god exist or not. I don't believe or disbelieve it
This is why science does even attempt to disprove or prove God. It's impossible, it's not what science or any person can do. Any scientist trying to do it will do it with his personal funds and not research funds.

It depends on scientific strategy that is being used. If you adopt "a friori" approach i.e "cause to effect" you may be right, but if you go "posteriori" i.e. "effect to cause" that may not be true. From the creation, science has established existence of systems in nature. Since every system is designed to achieve a set of objectives, logically the entity behind the systems design can be safely concluded to be God.

Matthew 10:12-15 And when ye come into an house, salute it. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
AntiChristian: You're still being ilogical! How can there be an inverse relationship between marriage and divorce? How does your dependent and independent variable fit into this narrative? Can you define your constant in this instant?
No be only you sabi book o!
The logic of the topic is simple enough: We can discuss marriage to any length without making any reference to divorce, but there's no way we can talk about divorce without mentioning marriage. This is excactly what Jesus did in the passage in context. Marriage can exist without divorce but divorce can't without marriage, I hope I make it clear enough.
Divorce and marriage are direct opposite! Even in mathematics, 1+1=2 not 1.
Word and opposite is in language study. In maths we talk about inverse relationship. So if there is a relationship which is inverse, then one of the variable must be dependent while other is independent. Get the gist. Logics help a lot in analytical reasoning. In Africa most of the time we reason abstractly in ordinary business of life. The only time we think we need to reason logically is when we are writing exams.
AntiChristian: The context of this is divorce not marriage!
I still can picture how marriage would not be mentioned in when issues on divorce arises, because without marriage there can be divorce. Marriage is an independent variable while divorce is dependent one. I hope you still remember basic algebra?
AntiChristian: There's nothing like ideal when God was making laws for polygamy and giving David wives! Read my other comments on the first page.
But Jesus said there was. Matthew 19:4-5 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
AntiChristian: Lies! In Matthew 19:3-9, Jesus was not speaking about polygamy. Rather, He is only answering a question about divorce. Indeed, the entire passage is about divorce, not polygamy.
"Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.” Matthew 19:3-9.
Indeed, in Matthew 19:8-9, Jesus simply repeats the Deuteronomy 24:1 "as it had been in the beginning", that God has always been against divorce of what He joined together. In Matthew 19:3, the Pharisees were asking about "every" reason for divorcing, but Jesus returned back with the only one allowed reason (the woman's "fornication / uncleanness", as per Deuteronomy 24:1.
Polygamy is about marriage, whereas divorce is about breaking up marriage. Accordingly, Jesus was not speaking against pro-marriage polygamy in Matthew 19. He was instead addressing marriage-destruction of divorce. It was about divorce, not polygamy.
At the same time, there was nowhere in those passages that support polygamy. Rather by implication JESUS laid emphasis on a model of marriage. A model is an "ideal" or "desired" state of things. This is a model of " one man and one woman" Anything outside this is an aberration. Another way of assessment is by the results produced by polygamy as aberration of marriage model. Right from Father Abraham to David to Solomon, their outcome have been undesirable. The greatest problem of terrorism facing the world today was created by poygammy. One may not need Holy Spirit to understand this because many enlightened unbelievers in today world now agree with this.
Kobojunkie: 1. Not necessarily true at all, unless you are attempting to state that God changed His mind, and we all know that God does not change His mind and Jesus Christ does the Will of His father and not His own will. Jesus Christ said He was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel, many of whom were scattered by God to all the ends of the earth, and as stated in Isaiah 66 vs 15 - 20, the work the disciples were commissioned for is to go to all the ends of the earth to teach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to the lost sheep of Israel, those among the gentiles who are also descended from Jacob. So, the reason why they were made fishers of men is so they can fish from among all men those who are of the lost sheep of Israel.
2. And God's plan never changes.
Great! His plan never changes and part of that plan is: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
KingLennon: It's enough bro. Am just waiting to see the next president. Anything other than PO, na to find even the least Sierra Leone, Comoros, Seychelles even Mauritania Japa go!

floret23: Tinubu and his supporters have accepted the fact that the APC presidential candidate is not acceptable to majority of Social media users in Nigeria. If online poll is conducted 100 times, Mr Tinubu will not win even one. But why did he thinks he can win the forthcoming presidential election in this situation?
Every Social media user has at least one voter (who is not on social media) under his influence. For instance, I have about five people that I have convinced to vote Obi and they are not on social media. Mind you, Nigeria has about 91.8 million internet users. So APC banking on the ignorance and poverty of some people expecialy rural dwellers may not work in the long run.
I am sure they are aware of the situation. They just pretend. I could not vote for Buhari in 2015 but I made sure my wife did by driving her several kilometers to her polling unit, and influenced many people to vote for him. If politicians like Tinubu is not aware of this mechanism, then it must be that he is overrated, he is not politically learned as many think he is.

This is systematic ethnic cleansing and it seems our usual fashion of reaction is weeping and wailing on the part of victims while on the part of the church, the usual ritual of burial service conducted by clergy men with flowing white gowns. I advise that maybe we stop eating cow mean so that the hypnotization effect can quickly wear out to enable us take action. I come in peace.
Growth is not development. What Lagos experienced is growth and it's an indicator of underdevelopment in Nigeria. High land value, sky high housing cost, traffic and population congestion, high density, overpopulation etc. are alll factors of underdevelopment disguised as growth. Tell Tinubu to come and school in regional development planning.
domDva: Nigeria is such a useless place, this is a state that houses 82 division of the Nig Army. How can a community be attacked successfully severally and the one that calls himself governor will be moving around with Wike like a clown. Will his boss Wike have permitted such rubbish in his state? He cannot learn projects from Wike, he cannot learn taking hard decisions from Wike na just to move like mumu wearing asoebi up and down .
I wonder my brother. They even put his Excellency before his name, I guess it's because he is so excellent in redundancy.
Hotice085: Where are those Russian 4kboys? Aside stealing cutleries, stealing washing machines and pots of soups after commiting war crimes, what else can they do?
POOtin is a lunatic
Like his counterpart in Nigeria, looking for grazing route for cows .
So you are expecting National Award for that. I don't blame people like this dude, when they don't have quality people around them to give them a befitting "brain reset". Like senator, like constituents.
Regex: For Obi to know Odili when he was six, then it means Odili was popular then. There are seniors in my school I never met that were popular. For you to be vehemently denying these shows you are a dangerous and horrible person and can never be trusted. If Obi loses the election, he lost nothing, he can simply fly to America or UK and stay. It is you that will perish.
I know of a human rights activist today that I never met in school but was very popular in campus because of his role in activism. He is still active in human rights activism till date, I never met him school but have known him since my school days.
