Many people don dey send me burantashi and provisions for Rammadan so I go dey 100percent fit for monday”.

SportsGhana's Asamoah Gyan Sets Record As Africa's Top Scorer In World Cup History. by Wale112(op): 10:40am On Jun 30, 2014
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan set a new record as Africa’s all-time scorer in the World Cup by scoring his sixth goal in their 2-1 defeat to Portugal.

The Al Ain striker equalled Roger Milla’s record of five goals last Saturday after finding the back of the net in the 2-2 draw with

Gyan registered his second goal of the 2014 World Cup and that complimented the three scored at the 2010 finals in South Africa.

The Al Ain striker also was on target on their debut tournament in Germany 2006.

sayisayi: KP Boateng guns GFA.

“Everything – the hotels, the flights – everything was amateurish,” he said.

“The GFA president visited me in Milan begging me to play for Ghana again. He gave me his word that we would have better travel, better organisation and preparation. He has not kept his word. In the end I was just still dissatisfied.

“It was a nightmare from the first day of the preparation to the end,” Boateng added. “We flew to the first training camp from Amsterdam to Miami. However, we travelled in two groups, since there was no space. One group flew through Atlanta, the other New York. We sat for around nine hours at the airport - a total of 19 hours on the road.

“The flight from Miami to Brazil a week later took 12 hours and we sat and concentrated in economy class. The legs ached. It sounds strange for an average citizen, but for a competitive athlete that is a disgrace. The Ghan FA president sat in business class with his wife and two children. And then in Brazil, we finally had a charter flight but my luggage was lost. Two days without football boots – it was a disaster.”

Appiah was the first homegrown coach to lead Ghana to a World Cup. But asked his opinion on whether he had a clue about tactics, Boateng gave a less than ringing endorsement. “No. But I have respect for him person,” he said. “I have always behaved positively. But if someone asks me about him, whether he is a good coach, I’d say no.”

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama spoke with captain Asamoah Gyan on the telephone to resolve a dispute over player bonuses ahead of the Portugal match, with $3m in cash flown to Brazil on a private jet. However, Boateng claimed that was only the tip of the iceberg in terms of issues that dogged the squad.

He said: “That was the smallest problem. Everything had accumulated over a month. It was pure disaster. Poor training conditions and sleep options, I just wonder where all the money was flowing too.

“The association get so much money from sponsors and Fifa - it was certainly not used for hotels, flights, the team and the preparation.”

Boateng also insisted that there was a lack of team spirit among the squad in direct contrast to the last World Cup in South Africa, when Ghana came within a missed penalty of becoming the first African nation to reach the semi-final.

“We were not a real team. Everyone was busy with themselves,” he said.

“There were two or three players who were just glad Sulley Muntari and I were suspended. They said it to my face. W

safarigirl: I don't know how anyone can come here and claim that the CAF APOTY voting is done without sentiments. Everything in life is done with sentiments attached. Of the 53 coaches and captains that will vote, I can assure you that at least a quarter will not vote Mikel for reasons like: 1. Nigeria ended their WC hopes (Malawi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia). 2. They don't like Chelsea. 3. They don't like Nigerians and think we're arrogant (this one will have a high percentage) etc. Anybody that wants to dispute this fact can try but won't go far. After all, it was sentiments that got Drogba to top 3.

Politics15 Facts Most Africans Don't Know! by Wale112(op): 1:14pm On Dec 21, 2013
1. India has the highest number of black people
in the world, second only to Nigeria. They are
discriminated against by racist caste systems.
2.Aboriginal black Australians were considered
as animals in the "fauna and flora act" of the
British empire, so it was a perfectly legal and
common sport to poach them for trophies!
3. The Chinese and Mongol people have San-like
features(a southern African group of people).
4. The first woman on earth was from Africa not
the garden of Eden according to verifiable
scientific evidence.
5. There are indigenous black people with
Yoruba-like language and culture in brazil, they
worship ogun!
6. Blacks were the original settlers of china
(Shang dynasty), they had white slaves!
7. Nok culture in central Nigeria is almost twice
the age of any civilization east of khemet
(Jericho and Babylon included).
8. Jesus most likely had Nubian features!
9. khemet and its pharaohs were the first
recorded civilization on earth and also the first
to believe in monotheism, later copied by Jews
and Arabs!
10. Africans reached the Americas centuries
before Christopher Colombus drifted ashore!
11. Europeans used to send their people to learn
science and medicine from African scholars in
khemet(ancient Egypt). It was considered posh
and a sign of affluence for Europeans to study in
Africa!
12. Africans were the first to have a list of drugs
and diseases they cured(pharmacy)! Canabis
sativa(marijuana) was a pain reliever!
13. The richest man in history was a Malian king
(would be worth $400B in today's money)!
14. Africa has the largest and most diverse
number of languages amongst the different
continents!
15. Jesus and Moses both studied African
mysticism and medicine (possible source of their
potent magic and healing feats)!

PoliticsGhana Prez Mahama Commissions 4000 Megawatts Bui Dam Today by Wale112(op): 5:31pm On Dec 19, 2013
President John Mahama has inaugurated the final phase of the Bui Hydroelectric Power Project at Bui in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The first unit of the Project which provided about 1333 megawatts of power was inaugurated in May to augment energy supply in the country.

CEO of the Bui Power Authority, Jabesh Amissah-Arthur, said the Bui City project, the luxury aspect of the just-completed 4000 megawatts dam, can be realized if private investors come onboard.

The city is expected to have resorts, hotels, water, sports facilities and diverse other recreational centres for both domestic and international tourists.

At the inauguration ceremony of the dam this morning, Mr. Amissah-Arthur said the Bui City dream is still alive.

He added that all the villagers, except a few, who were displaced by the project, have successfully been resettled and compensated.

The three-turbine Dam is nestled in a gorge separating the Brong Ahafo region from the Northern region.

It was built by Chinese contractor Sino-hydro.

It was started in 2008 in the dying embers of the Kufuor administration.

Mr Kufuor, together with some of the Energy Ministers who served in his government, joined President Mahama at the inauguration event Thursday.

Foreign AffairsMugabe Renames Victoria Falls To Mosi Oa Tunya by Wale112(op): 10:15am On Dec 19, 2013
President Robert Mugabe wants Victoria Falls to be renamed 'the smoke that thunders' to get rid of its colonial history. The president of Zimbabwe believes Victoria Falls does not reflect its liberation heritage.

The waterfall, which is along the Zambezi River at the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Locals already refer to the landmark as Mosi Oa Tunya - which means 'the smoke that thunders'.

The ruling party, Zanu PF, said the government would be instructed to get rid of all colonial names for towns and schools. Ignatious Chombo, local government minister, said: 'Institutions bearing colonial names must be changed and be given indigenous names... school syllabuses in schools must also change.'

It was first discovered by Scottish explorer David Livingstone who named it after Queen Victoria. Jabulani Sibanda, leader of Zimbabwe’s vocal war veterans, supported the move.

He said: 'David Livingstone was not the first person to see the Victoria Falls, they (the falls) must be rebranded Mosi Oa Tunya.
