Let me use your analogy here, the Igbo in the north have the " we feeling " and understand the culture, what could be the reason for the Igbo in Lagos not to at least understand the culture and accord it the respect.
Ok you said they spread across Lagos, which is not enough reason. How about Igbo in America? They don't live in clustered pattern too. So it's not really anything serious..
it is very annoying seeing an adult of an Igbo extraction speak ill of the Igbo culture just to be seen as lasgidi. The show off is too much. They live the fake life that is very unfamiliar with Igbo people.

i must tell you that this problem is not peculiar only with "igbos".Yorubas are also guilty of this,becose some see those "born and breed" outside the lagos shore or western state as naive or uncivilized compare to them.Its a general misconception held by many of those"lasgidi" dweller.

yes.But,having travel to both west,north and east,i can dedude that their behavioural trait still differs."igbos" in the core north are not well groom into the system or environment as such they"cluster" into a particular geographical sphace only few live far away with its members in the core north, this was to give them "sense of belonging and sense of protections",unlike those in the "west" where they spread into the nooks and cranny of lagos.The disparity between these two settling arrangement also bring about different ways of perception and attitude.That's to say,the unified structure they have in north makes them developed that "we feelings"and better understang of the culture,than those of lagos.Flexibility and open mind is stil atributed to this set than those at home.My take

Well,let me just chipp in.Studies has shown that behaviour,attitude,thinking or reasoning of"man" are all shape by external coersion(family,culture,religion,education,environment and peers)which they internallize and shape their personality.In an attempt to answer your question op,your "folks men",born and breed in "lagos" wil definately act,behave and reason in a different dimention compare to those at home,not that they looks diferent,but becouse of those factors mentioned aboved.Consciously or subconciously it interplay in their ways and how they perceived certain phenomena.Conclusively,these set of people born and breed outside the"igboland" mostly have wat i call "dual personality and flexible"and those at home usually "rigid and conservative".Its a natural law of "man" not applicable to "igbos"only.My take on it.

ok.As a continent comprising of different geographical spheres,ethnicity,culture,religion and social millieu,its undeniable that we have alot of quite problems whic can not be over looked.The issue of "religion" has been misconceived by many as a problem to our "social existence",when on the other hand "religion" is the tool for "social solidarity"because all religion profes love for one another.Yes,i wunt denied that some use it to for their "altruistic purpose" in order to gain their ulterior motives.But, have you ever wonder how "human race" will look like,without any proper sense of direction,where man behaviour is shape.Man is egoistic and selfish in nature,without "religion"and some vital institution,society will be tentamount to chaos,anomie and alot of mishaps.Religion has more "functional purpose" than its "dysfunctional purpose".My take on it

In as much as these kids has fault,we the adult are not living a good examples at all.Many of this child consciouslly or subconsciouslly learned some of these acts from the older generations.Parents inclusive,has drop their roles and responsibility of raising a child in the norms of the society, rather chasing the money and other frivolities.Morality has reduce to the lowest level that no one cares,when its a 'collective efforts'.What we see now are the manifest failure of the family and societal institutions.

My take on this is that "religion" is not bad on it own,but we humans that practice it.The teachings of religion give 'people' a self conscience where they use as a platform to comunicate to their supernatural being.I think doing good or bad to 'mankind' is rooted from the inborn trait of the man, not the religion.Sadly,man hide under the cloth of 'religion' in order to manupulate the minds of man which many tends to fall for this 'gulibility'.

I have engaged quite a lot of them in broad topics even what's affects everybody in the society sadly they know little or noting about it, even what's going on around them.Take for instance,during radio station phone in program maybe on a topic about things that affect the society,pay attention to those calling to discuss or contribute their opinion, you will notice that most of them are men.only very few women will call in to make contributions. They will keep quite and pretend it doesn't concern them yet the topic is what affects both men and women.
Tho quite a few are versatile when it comes to any political, social, economic, religious, national issues and ,current affairs.I applaud and admire such kind of women a lot.

you are on point.It turns me off,when a gorgeous lady have nothing in her uper echelon.Bitter truth,very few of them are versatile,thats why you see some men prefer to have a heart to heart talk with their frends rather than their spouse/gf

I think most Nigerian women don't really debate issues when there is a potential suitor interested in them, in case the guys end up labelling them as too intelligent, argumentative or stubborn. The Nigerian guys ego is very fragile, so most women act less intelligent or don't debate issues to pander to their lack of self esteem.

yes i woudnt say you are not true,but to be sincere with you,many men get turn on with a very intelligent and witty lady who's very vast in different spheres of life.Be it as it may be,its only a 'mediocre' that see such a lady has "too knowing".When i know shes going to pass that 'trait' to my offspring.

you are not far from the truth man.Some couple of years back,i engage in a research work,where i found out that many of us dont really know the true form of'love'.We either claim to be,in order to get something or just bandwagoning.Its an eye sore result,looking at the rate of'divorce' and breaking homes in our social milieu.
