However, government must maintain a ceiling price based on realistic and reasonable cost elements and profit margin. This will be sustained until Nigeria can produce minimum of 80% petroleum products required to meet local demand effectively.

Encourage the establishment of, at least, 6 standard, sophisticated and high capacity petroleum products refinery in the 6 geopolitical zones of Nigeria. These can be done with government encouraging the private sector investment in the refinery business, favorable govt policies and legislation to encourage such investments.

In fact, now that crude oil is less than $40 per barrel; this is the best time to remove subsidy.

The increase to 97 naira can be attributed to the forex exchange rate. The naira has been devalued largely in recent times.

My candid opinion:

Nigeria can conduct an enquiry into the event that led to the clash between the army and Shiites Muslims.

However, it is obvious that the Shiites group were indisciplined, unruly, deviant, unlawful and irresponsible. I guess they are majorly illetrates brainwashed by religious fanatics who perverted the religion for selfish motives.

The army went extreme in law enforcement and Nigerian human and material resources protection. The COAS, other generals and the convoy must have felt seriously threatened hence, the use of fire arms and extreme force to terminate the threat. I can understand the serious threat a militant group of fanatical and pervert Muslims can pose, especially when armed with weapons - cutlass, bows, arrows, sickles, swords etc.

My position is that the army did pretty well despite the sensitive and controversial nature of the circumstance. I don't blame them for engaging extreme force in dealing with the group. I will encourage them to be more diplomatic when presented similar events or circumstances in future but the army must never hesitate to engage extreme force against any group when need be, subject to the international rules of engagement.

Didn't the fiancee know that when a woman and man wants to get married, they must leave their past and parents, stick together and chart a new course in a new beginning.

Didn't she realize it is part of the mutual agreement that she will drop her parents name and take the fiance or husbands last name when the marriage was contracted.

I know that a lot of ladies will find it difficult to understand why it seems a woman is an asset acquired by the husband, open up your mind and analyze it logically; the husband acquired the wife.

Anyway, after 8 years of childlessness, it is obvious that children are of high priority than the love and marrital vows to the husband, that can be deduced from his actions and pronouncements after the concubine was discoverd pregnant.
