PoliticsCivil war Looms, "Restructure the Country Now"–PDP governors to FG by Warripikine(op): 2:50am On Apr 10, 2021
From Ndubuisi Orji and Rose Ejembi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, yesterday, said an urgent devolution of power and restructuring of the polity has become imperative, if the country does not want another civil war.

The forum raised the alarm that the country is already a failed state, under the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government.

The PDP governors expressed worry that all fault lines and differences in the country have been stretched to the limit by the present administration.

The opposition governors stated this, in a communiqué issued at the end of their meeting, in the Benue State capital, Makurdi. It was read by Tambuwal, who is the chairman of the forum.

The meeting was attended by Governors Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Sokoto State; Okezie Ikpeazu, Abia State; Udom Emmanuel, Akwa Ibom State; Douye Diri , Bayelsa State; Samuel Ortom, Benue State; Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State; Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Enugu State; Nyesom Wike, Rivers State; Seyi Makinde, Oyo State, Darius Dickson Ishaku, Taraba State; Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, -Adamawa State; -Godwin Obaseki, Edo State and deputy governor of Bauchi State, Baba Tela.

Also in attendance were the PDP National chairman, Uche Secondus and the Board of Trustees (BoT), Walid Jibrin

The PDP governors said the country is dire need of a government at the federal level “to avert the looming civil war.”

According to the governors, the alleged incapacity of the APC led administration to govern has resulted to “ethnic and tribal tensions, religious divisions, and various forms of social and political cleavages.”

They added that it is alarming that “security of lives and property of Nigerians are no longer guaranteed under the present government as a result of leadership incompetence and mismanagement of the nation’s affairs “

They noted “that the APC has been unable to even have a democratically-elected National Executive Committee as required by the Nigerian Constitution. A political party that operates by military fiat with an appointed and unelected Executive Committee at all levels from ward to national, has no business running the affairs of our country.

“APC cannot deliver democracy to Nigeria; even to constitute a Board of Trustees has been an impossible task for the party since inception.”

Is it not a master stroke,That Without resorting to arms struggle, IPOB have already succeeded in uniting the world, and all lovers of freedom against Nigeria.. grin

From Ambazonia in present day Cameroon, down to the middle belt, down to the oduduwa, to the Niger delta, even the northern minorities are wide awake right now, awaiting the clarion call.

PoliticsNewly Appointed IGP, Usman Alkali Baba Has Only Two Years Left In Service by Warripikine(op): 10:52pm On Apr 06, 2021
THE newly appointed Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali Baba has only two years left in the Nigeria Police, The ICIR has found.

Baba was appointed Acting IGP on Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari to replace former IGP Mohammed Adamu.

However, he has only two more years to spend as an officer of the Nigerian Police Force.

This is because the Acting IGP admitted in a 2014 interview that he joined the Police Force “sometimes in March 1988.”

He said this during an interview with The Vanguard published on September 24, 2014.

“Alkali Baba Usman was born sometime in 1963. I am an alumnus of Bayero University, Kano, and the University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID.”

In his response in the interview, he had said, “I am married with children. I joined the Nigerian Police Force sometime in March 1988. I rose from the rank of ASP, and thence to the rank of Commissioner of Police, last January 27th.”

This means that he is 33 years in service and 58 years of age. The Police Act prescribes a maximum of 35 years of service and/or 60 years of age for retirement -whichever comes first.

Acting IGP Baba should be 35 years in service and 60 years in 2023, hence due for retirement in the election year.

Part 111 Section 7 (6) of the Police Act, repealed as the Police Act Cap. P19, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, prescribed a four-year single tenure for a person appointed to the office of the IGP.

The appointment of an IGP is subject to the provisions of clause 18 (cool, which stipulates that every police officer shall, on recruitment or appointment, serve in the Nigeria Police Force for a period of 35 years or until he attains the age of 60 years, whichever is earlier.

If, like former IGP Adamu, his tenure is extended, there could be legal fisticuffs, especially because 2023 is an election year.

TheSuperNerd:
The Troost Ekong EPL Dream may just happen

William Troost Ekong just helped his side to an away point at Middlesborough. It ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Watford and Ekong now sit comfortably in second 10 points above both Swansea and Brentford who both have two games in hand (Swansea plays later today while Brentford plays tomorrow).

Isaac Success played the final 7mins + 5 mins added time.

About close to a year ago when Ekong made his switch to Watford in the summer window of 2020 from Udinese, most of us saw it as a step down but some of us also held out good hopes that perhaps it could end up clicking for Ekong as Watford seeks to gain promotion ASAP after being relegated at the end of the 2019/20 season.
Similar to SADIQ Umar's Move to Almeria who are also in contention for promotion to La liga, we could just see Ekong in the EPL come 2021/22 season provided Watford keep things together for their final six games of the Championship season.

The Super Eagles Vice Captain's EPL dream may just come to pass. It would surely make his summer move from Serie A side, Udinese to Championship side, Watford in 2020 quite the masterstroke. wink

We watch.
Do they really have what it takes to remain in the première lig if they qualify?

that is good !
the way boko haram ,bandits and killer fulani herdsmen are dealing with the northern citizens
is the way 1500 released by ipob will deal with the igbos in south east.
you have a good line of thinking."whatever evil is in the north replicate it in the south east".
congrats
Get your information right..before you come online to shed crocodile tears..

Firstly, Killer Fulani herdsmen are dealing with Nigerians in general and not only northern citizens as you're ignorantly and deceitfully trying to portray it..

Secondly, concerning the break away prisoners, its the duty of the Nigerian police to track them, and try them in the court..
Or Dont you believe in the Nigerian police again?
