I initially used an agent, and here are the pros and cons Pros 1. If you don't know most of the documents to submit, they tell you, what you need. 2. some secure admission for you 3.They might provide transport to VFS for you 4. They draft most of your letters for you Cons 1. You become lazy(especially if you are currently unemployed) 2. Some falsify documents they submit for you, which can be very disastrous 3. Some aren't thorough in looking at the documents 4.You will personally do police clearance, collect SOA, swear affidavits, supply information to fill forms, which is virtually most of the work. All most agents do is sit down in the office and collect your documents and cool cash. so if you are hardworking, patient, and attentive, follow the gurus on this page and you will get enough information plus experience to apply on your own. NOTE: I am speaking from my experience and experience of other people. |

ecclesiaok: hello house, how do i go about migrating to Canada? i got an agency here in Lagos that says that they can do it for me for a fee of 400k, as in get an admission from a school for and visa, but my issues now is if i get to Canada how do i settle? cos the school they will get for me i may not be able to pay for the school fee now since am self financing and if am able to pay the agency the sum of 400k i can barely afford my air fare let alone rent and accommodation over there in Canada, beside the agency told me that if i get there that i can differ my admission and get a job and work for some time b4 proceeding with my post graduate studies which i will be going for.my good people any advice on this? Good day ecclesiaok, all i have to say is think well, and very well, forget about any agent, this page is enough guide for you to getting a visa. secondly, i suggest u gather up your fees and living expense for at least a year before applying for a visa |

obailala: The amenities you listed are not free in any part of the world. But then, even with all your money in your wallet, you wouldn't have been able to get them still if they didnt exist in your environment; if you had N1m in your pocket, you wouldnt be able to still purchase mobile internet if it didnt exist in Nigeria (as was the case just some years ago).
May I also remind you that it was through those numerous foreign junkets which OBJ embarked upon those days, that's how Nigeria was able to secure a debt relief of well over $20billion from the Paris club. It is sometimes surprising to see supposedly educated people asking what the essence of these foreign trips or diplomatic relations are. This is what happens when people don't read news properly, OBJ did not bring GSM phones into Nigeria, its just like saying Buhari was the one who initiated the TSA policy, GSM policies were already in place before obasanjo, he just "witnessed" their entrance, go back and do your research before supporting unwarranted travels, while he was junketering, boko haram became the world's most deadly sect, while he was junketering jp morgan took us off its index, while he was junketeering, fuel became more expensive and scarce, while he was still junketeering, REMITA and revenue issues came up. Look at the president of india, south Africa, and see how fellow third world nation presidents make proper use of their time, and look at the corresponding benefits to the economy, obama and co can travel to moon if they wish simply because, their government has policies, and tools in place that the government can run on auto-pilot!!!! |

olatunji21: Diezani is Saint, isn't she? She never stole, Did she? Why should I pity her, when she was stealing all the billions, did she care about me and other Millions? oga, she is a human being like you, she might have done wrong, just like anybody, she might have sinned like anybody, but for christ sakes, show sympathy when needed, and stop talking nonsense like a tout!!!!! I don't encourage corruption, but so far, she hasn't been convicted of corruption, so she isn't a corrupt person yet, she is a human being like you and i, and i feel the pains she is going thru. May the Good Lord grant her safe and quick recovery. |

brvheart: Been a silent follower i cant really say how long but long enough to have learned a lot here
Its been a long journey..
First application (online) Aug 2014, refused (purpose of visit) i guess that had to do with the course i choose to study and my SOP wasn't strong enough
Second app Paper route June 22, 2015 Biometric same day. no communication until Oct 9, i have deferred my admission to January (found out that have been sent medical mail since august to a wrong email address, so i didn't get it) Normally visa will be refused after 14days if medical is not done. i sent them my correct email address and attached my differed admission letter But after 2 month i was sent a fresh medical mail on 13th (grace of GOD) i did not get the medical form mail..i waited but nothing , sent them mails...no response i proceeded to IOM for upfront since i do not have the pre-filled medical form from CIC when i got to IOM i was told i have two IME numbers on there system but they created a new UMI anywaiz Did medicals on 19th and few minutes ago today...i got my approval mail.

MYtionary: Yes, sure! I got an admission from selkirk uni college Well, in my honest opinion, if the school really admitted you with that IELTS score, you really have no problem with the embassy, the embassy didn't state an IELTS score for you. And by the way, its Selkirk college not uni college |

MYtionary: Guys, I'm in deep shiit right now oooo. I had 5.5 in my IELTS and my agent used that result to apply for a visa for me. When i later visited the website of the school i applied for, i realized that what they need is an IELTS score of 6.5..... But all other documents of mine gat no comma and are legit.
Is there any hope for me?

MichaelFinn: Well, I don't think VOs understand this except the applicant is able to write an extremely convincing SOP. With documents to backup such an application. For me, I think Canada needs you, as much as you need thm. But they just wanna be sure that you are not a liability, truth is even a master degree student, can equally decide not to return to Nigeria. SOP or no SOP, In my own opinion, I just feel, God should help each applicant here to convey his or her reasons to the V.O's, coz my guy, even with a very strong SOP, a V.O can come to office on a bad morning and tick all possible reasons for denial. |

MichaelFinn: I'm not a VO. I don't know anything about TRV. But somethings are only logical. If you're 22 and above, married with kids or have a job with ample working experience why would you want to go to Canada for an Advance Diploma, Diploma or PGD? It's glaring that you won't want to come back.
Anybody with a different opinion can argue this with me. I'm open to a debate. Well, MichaelFinn, some have 3rd class degrees, some want to switch from one course to another, some need the knowledge. |

Omonjoe: Please can one give me full adresse where I can get my docs notarized in Lagos? I need it urgently. Thanks If you are in Lagos, go to Lagos high court Ikeja, or federal high court ikoyi (water fronts), please I will advice you that of its for embassy purposes, use the federal high court, although its more expensive, but the embassy holds it in high regard. When doing all this, always insist on collecting your receipt, and attach the receipt to the notarized document , this helps the embassy to easily verify should they want to verify the authenticity of the document. The price varies based on negotiation. But the amount written on the receipt is usually far less than the amount collected from you, in fact it might be 10times lesser. Good luck! |
