Oops but they said that I must nominate someone, and it would take a week for approval by the Home Office. It's included on the letter that was attached to my passport.

Those two cities are miles apart. Luton prominity to London makes it expensive regarding accommodation. Budget around £300 for a single bedroom per month.

I intend staying in a student accommodation provided by the University tho... £131 per week. I'd do a shorter contract of say... 3 months... Then I'd move out when I get acclimatised to the UK environ.

So, I'd want to nominate my guardian a week before I depart since my dad isn't an EU citizen and doesn't hold a BRP and also won't be required to collect one.

I've got a question...
Please, how can I nominate a responsible adult to accompany me when I go to collect my Biometric Resident Permit? Can I nominate here in Nigeria or should it be done in the UK?

I've tried checking gov.uk and the link is only for Third parties whom must be EU or British citizens.

Kindly assist me if you've got any link or suggestions and ideas.

FEW MISTAKES/ERRORS MADE
- I forgot to include my dad's consent letter, however, I scaled through probably because he was also applying for a 5 year visit Visa and I had included that he would be traveling with me which he indicated too. I had submitted a Consent letter duly signed to my University before the CAS document was released albeit.
- I had said I'd rent bikes for 40 quids weekly which was wrong. I also said I don't know the rates for the bus pass when I was asked.
- I also said my Bank statement had lasted for 28 days but it was way longer than that.

To cap it all, I was fluent, good command of English and made sentences void of grammatical blunders. I went with the flow with the aid of my acumen, and dressed smartly tho.
However, I don't know if one's dress code would be a yard stick in determining a successful application.

My mind was filled with negative thoughts like alternatives if my application wasn't successful, thoughts of rejection prolly because of the aforementioned errors.


Special thanks to @Justwise and @Umarwy again, the duo reassured me and were very helpful with rapid responses proffering answers.

And again, when one has been destined by God, no obstacle can hinder the manifestation.

Wow... I got my Tier 4 Student Visa today despite all odds and thoughts of rejection ☐☐☐ Despite all trivial mistakes made... Indeed when one has been destined by God, no hitherto can stop the manifestation. Oh ok! Then no pressure.

Since you will be traveling with your daddy you got no problem, if you will be staying in university accommodation you will not need transport of any kind to school because all the university accommodations are just less than 5mins walk to your main university campus.

One in particular is just next to major bus interchange and train station to London and other parts of Luton

The timing is not bad as people get reply in less than 15 working days usually. I guess you will get collection email from them next week.

I've already gotten a notification that my passport is ready for collection. I used TLS tho for courier. It should arrive by Monday.

Kind of but I expected it yesterday tho. Just keeping my fingers crossed. I'm nervous, but it's routine. ☐

I just received an email today that my passport is ready for collection. I'd give a brief overview of the whole process and when I get my passport I'd drop the full transcript.

Appointment date: 14th December, 2016.
Received by UKVI in Sheffield: 15th, December 2016.
Notification mail for documents dispatched: 6th January, 2017.

*I'm going for an undergraduate degree
*I didn't even get a mail that a decision has been made
*I paid for courier
*It took approximately 14 working days to get a mail that my documents have been dispatched.


I wasn't utterly perfect, but I'm just being hopeful that my application would be successful. With God, nothing is impossible.

Okay thanks bruh. What if someone makes a mistake whilst filling the courier form(TLS) ? My details were correctly filled in the Main VISA APPLICATION FORMS but in the courier it's saying I'm gonna be staying less than 6 months even tho it's student visa application... Will this affect the result?

2 a new bike cost less than what you are willing to pay for a month to rent it. And you can buy 2 used bike as well with a weeks rent

Good evening, I applied for a UK STUDENT VISA today. I spoke very well but I've got some issues. I submitted my documents without my dad's consent letter. Although, before my CAS was issued, the University requested for a consent letter but didn't ask me to submit it with d VISA application. They also asked how long the funds have been in my sponsor's bank account. I said 28 days because I wasn't too sure but it stayed more than that. My application is tied to my dad's, he also made an application because he'd be following me.

Also, I was asked the means of transportation I'd use from my University to the Student accommodation. I forgot that it's a minute on foot and I said I'd rent a bike. I was asked the price and I said about 40 quids weekly. Can all these affect their decision ?

*My Interview didn't even take up to 5 minutes.

Just the normal WAEC result printout from WAEC's website.

Stamped by a notary public or can I submit a scratch card ? Or just go with a printout of the result and explain why the certificate isn't ready ? On UK gov. website, it's written only ORIGINALS... No scanned documents or copies.

Uhm I've gotten my CAS letter and I'm about applying for Tier 4 GENERAL student VISA. I wana ask if I can make use of a stamped copy of my WASSCE result when going to the embassy since the original certificate is not out. Prolly stamped or attested by a High court or even the Ministry of Education.


N/B: I wrote the examination this year (May/June 2016) and the ORIGINAL certificate isn't out.

@Justwise and good participants of Nairaland, today I applied for an undergraduate degree in the International College of Manitoba so I could spend 2 years and transfer to the University of Manitoba to complete the remaining 2 years.
I want to ask if anyone knows the time it takes for getting an admission decision from the college for International applicants and if prospective or current students are on this tread.

@wip7 Hi bruv, my friends who are brothers recently got admitted to study Chemical Engineering in METU NCC with 25% and 75% scholarship and were given conditional letters.
I want to ask if a METU English proficiency exam and a Mathematics Proficiency exam would be waived for them since they're Nigerian applicants.
However, they also have two English proficiency results which include; TOEFL and IELTS.

@Wip I've read all comments on this tread since November 13th 2009, it took me 3 weeks to finish everything . I must commend you, Godsong and the rest for keeping this tread active for 8 years, wow just wow! . I've never wanted to join Nairaland but this trend coerced and compelled me to, It's my turn to seek information concerning EMU and NEU TRNP. I applied since September 12th and it keeps saying under evaluation.
Concerning my NEU application, I submitted my credentials and application form via email so I wana ask how long it takes or evaluation also for Feb. 2017 intake.

Good morning House. Please can someone tell me more about Northern Cyprus? Because I want to go there and study after studying so I can move to others countries.

Man, I read through the whole tread, got all information about studying in North Cyprus and applied without any Agent. I advice you do the same, but it's easy by the way.

For EMU, you can apply online via their official website. Please make sure your academic credentials and other necessary documents are scanned.

For NEU and EUL, download their application forms, also get your scanned credentials ready and email it to them. You'd see their email address below the last application form for both.


If you experience any issue while applying, do ask questions.
