wealthmiq: Y'all start getting ready for UK now and forget this Ireland and Canada thing. If you enroll for January 2020 start and your course is for 16-months, you'd get it cuz UK post-work will take effect in June 2021. * 2 years post-study work visa * More student job opportunities compared to Ireland * No IETLS needed * 15 working days standard visa, 5-8 days priority, 24-48hrs super priority compared to Ireland's 2 months and Canada's "6 months" plus refusal * UK study visa is straightforward. You don't have to write SOP, LOE and submit proof of 500 documents and home ties BS. Visa interview for standard is easy too, you basically know the questions they would ask. They don't even care about your previous visa refusals provided that you haven't been fraudulent or committed attrocities. * You dont need to spend 800 euros on accommodation and also share your room, haba! 300 quid/month will get you a decent single room outside London. * Admission is faster compared to Ireland and Canada * MSc application is free in most UK Unis! No application fee at all! Coupled with generous disocunts too. You can apply to 50 Unis in the UK and make your choice compared to Canada. * Cheaper Universities compared to Ireland that are more recognised * UK is generally more diverse compared to Ireland. * Regardless, UK employers are willing to sponsor your Tier 2 visa compared to Ireland * Some UK Unis like Birmingham city university and Uni of Bedfordshire have February start. 14 Likes 1 Share |

While in the UK, I had recruiters reach out to me for C# Graduate roles that would pay up to £55k/year. That's the highest most lecturers can make in the UK lol. I didn't take them seriously cuz I thought I was gonna move to Canada. If you're coming to do an MSc in IT-related roles, trying using your 20 hours/week to look for jobs in UK startups. Startups are flexible and you can negotiate something that wouldn't pass the 20hours/week limit. You can't add McDonalds Crew Member experience to your CV or Amazon Warehouse Worker. For part-time gigs while studying, they tend to need people with good grasp of JavaScript and if you want to get sponsored by a hedge fund or licensed sponsor, C#/.NET is the way (It's in very HIGH demand). Happy New Month y'all waynee2baba: 6 Likes 4 Shares |

*** Quick one If you're doing a prorgamming/IT related course and you intend to come to the UK or you're in the UK, learn/focus on C# & .NET (ASP.NET). With your C#/.NET skill in the UK, recruiters will literally beg you to send your CV and the possibility of seeing jobs that would sponsor you is HIGH. Also, get active on LinkedIn. 6 Likes 4 Shares |

LaaJiblik: "...better no yarn wetin dem go use deny you admission" - simply means do not sabotage your chances e.g if you know lying will hinder you from getting admitted, do not do it. Stop making assumptions from what people say. Ask for proper clarification next time. Cheers. 1 Like |

I never said 'lie' o. I meant explain your case to the University. Besides, no one can hide any visa refusal from the Home Office. Zoey1: |

Why did you misquote me? Who said lie? I said do whatever it takes not to get denied admission cuz of visa refusal - like show proof, call, explain your situation etc. Smh LaaJiblik: 1 Like |

There's even a petition going around that's clamouring for even people graduating next year to be eligible. If the petition hits a certain number of signatures, they'd have to deliberate on the topic. |

donaldcarson:There's something you should know about the UK... they've always wanted to review this post work visa thing even before now. It's not even tied to B.J or anybody. Regardless of the outcome of BREXIT, they'd make it clear soon. They'd pass it into law before May 2021. I think January 2020 guys would be eligible cuz they'd still be on Tier 4 by May 2021. |

Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary are currently doing free application. So you'd get a tuition waiver instead of paying 75CAD. Started on Friday, Oct. 18 and would end on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019. 4 Likes |

Frankrobbn1: Thanks a lot man. My initial plan was MSc at UCalgary. They wasted my time too by saying I should chill and they'd assign a supervisor to me. I should have applied for a course-based Masters in other Unis. Admission process is quite cumbersome in Canada too. I even applied to couple of UK Universities and after 3 days.. I had about 5 of them offering up to 50% scholarship for my MSc. I ignored them cuz of Canada. Now 2 years PSW visa is back, I'm deffo prioritising the UK. Admission process in Canada is long, visa long... everything is just complicated lol. Anyway, no hard feelings. I wish y'all Good luck in your future ambitions. Wetin go be go be 3 Likes |

Lol after 11 weeks of waiting. I applied from London in July. I just finished my BSc in the UK. I had a first class too. A first class in Software Engineering at 19 and I was going for an OBJECT ORIENTED SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT programme for 8 months. More like a specialised vocational training programme. Today, I got refused due to purpose of visit and immigration status. At least the torment is over... F*CK CANADA AND THEIR IMMIGRATION POLICIES! I could have sworn I had the best SOP. Why deny me for immigration status? I was on a freaking TIER 4 VISA man. This is the end of this stupid struggle for me. UK has 2 year post-study work visa. If they had implemented this since, what would I be looking for in cold deserted Canada. I won't even rant about Nigeria. It's pointless. I'd be back to the UK next year. 7 Likes |
