Dude, this is a public forum not a private conversation between two people. You're in the process of doing some serious damage to your online reputation. Here is your comment with the senseless syllogism, and read the posted page. But would be any enforcement without laws? If No then God made a mistake giving moses the 10 commandments and if Yes, God laws encompasses deterrent because one gotta face the music once the law is broken If there is no enforcement without laws [whatever that means], then God made a mistake blah blah blah... There is CLEARLY no enforcement without laws anywhere on planet Earth. Therefore blah blah blah. https://www.fibonicci.com/logical-reasoning/syllogisms/examples-types/What were you trying to say BTW? The thing still escapes my poor comprehension. You may be correct about one thing though, upon taking a second glance, the word salad you posted back there doesn't deserve to be called a syllogism. If you're going through some things in life, please do me a favor and leave me out of them. I'm not impressed by your difficulties. |

aaronson: But would be any enforcement without laws? If No then God made a mistake giving moses the 10 commandments and if Yes, God laws encompasses deterrent because one gotta face the music once the law is broken(sin). Sin is everywhere. You have "sinned" already today, just with your thoughts!! You wouldn't attempt to steal an item if the owner was clearly watching your movements. Why do you then commit a "sin" if the owner/God will murder you for it? Doesn't make sense. Unless... the punishment isn't really a deterrence, you see. What I'm saying is that by "sinning" even once, you prove to me that you're not afraid of hell fire. |

If no God then no sin, reason why? God made sin as being unlawful or outlaw and since I'm debunking that same dog oppsss I meant God, I'm entitled to freewill. Sin ? Really? Is that the best argument you have? If that was the case, then people would shy away from "sin." Reality suggests otherwise. God is not a deterrent, law enforcement is. |

People have provided accounts of genital disappearances in the past. Women have confessed to flying brooms and eating children in midair. Notice how they all have one thing in common, the fact that only one observer is present. No one ever catches a witch suspended in mid air eating a child. Godsfamilymemba: You didn't get the gist. It's not about atheism or mind reading. It just means humans- including atheists- make decisions based on environmental suggestion not necessarily based on logic or rationality.
It also means that logic can be very wrong when you don't have all the required information to make it right- whether you know what these information are or not. Logic takes time to appreciate which explains why atheists took a minute before abandoning their various religions. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Understanding God 101: What If Man Made God by Weah96: 2:33pm On Nov 28, 2015 |
malvisguy212: Atheists commonly claim that humans invented God to satisfy some of his fear of death, therefore, wishing God into existence. According to the theory, man realized his limitations and fears and projected an image of God to calm these fears. In short, God is what man wishes to be - a kind of super-man. This model matches the gods of the pagan religions quite well, and possibly explains the origins of these religions. For example, in nearly all pagan religions, the gods look like the people - Ethiopian gods were dark-skinned whereas Greek gods tended to be white. So, aren't all gods just inventions of the people who claim them? In contrast to the pagan gods, the God of Judaism and Christianity does not look like the an old man with white beards . In fact, He is described as being invisible to us and not some image that humans can imagine>>>> Hebrews 11:27 ...Him who is unseen. Acts 17:29 "Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man." Accordingly, we can only see Him in His glory when we die and are transformed into spiritual beings. The Hebrews were commanded NOT to make an image of their God. The New Testament specifically says that God does not look like a man>>>> Leviticus 26:1 'You shall NOT make for yourselves idols, nor shall you set up for YOURSELVES AND IMAGE or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the LORD your God. CHRISTIANITY: However, if people were to have invented the God of Christianity, it is unlikely that it would be the demanding God of the Bible. The God of the Bible is described as holy , without sin and without the ability to commit sin>>>> Isaiah 5:16 But the LORD of hosts will be exalted in judgment, And the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness. The holiness of God is described as being above anything that humans can attain, such that no human can stand before Him as holy. Behaving more morally upright than most other people is not sufficient to escape the punishment of the God of the Bible.>>> Leviticus 11:45 'For I am the LORD, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, to be your God; thus you shall be holy for I AM HOLY.'" SALVATION. In nearly all religions, salvation is attained through human effort. Only in Christianity does salvation come solely as a gift from God , it cannot be earned through human effort. Clearly, in doctrines such as the nature of God and the way of salvation, there is very little common ground between Christianity and the religions of the world>>>> Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. TRANSCENDENT GOD: The God of Christianity also differs from the gods of the world's religions in terms of His nature and existence. Most of the religions of the world describe their god as existing within the universe. In many cases, these gods even have parents. Both of these attributes are logically inconsistent with the reality of our universe. Only a God who is transcendent to both space and time, like the God of the Bible,is logically possible>>>> 1 Kings 8:27 "But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven CANNOT CONTAIN THEE how much less this house which I have built! CONCLUSION: It is impossible for the christian God to be invented because men will not invent God that set an uphill task on how to attain Holiness and salvation. Romans1:22-23 Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Isaiah 1:13 "Bring your worthless offerings no longer, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and Sabbath, the calling of assemblies-- I [God] cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly.
https://www.nairaland.com/2575407/invented-god-image-mankind And yet you still participate in your local cannibal rituals, using bread and wine to symbolize human blood and flesh. After rewarding your psychopathic personality with your blood rituals, you then pour out on the streets to unleash your backward ideas on us. |

I believe that our carbon based life form serves as a receiver for a remote consciousness. We see and think even with our eyes closed, i.e. sleep. The arrangement of this physical system at any moment in time determines the kind of consciousness that you receive. Problem solving consciousness is the most widely approved one, probably because most governments enforce it. Is it the best one? That's for you to decide. |

Teempakguy: Ah, so this is where johnydon22 was having fun, eh? Why didn't anyone call me the party?
Let's take this from the top. First, what is your earliest memory? When you were three? Two? Anyway, any moment earlier than your earliest memory, you do NOT exist. What existed was a primate mammal without self awareness. At this point, your brain was so small that intelligence was inconceivable.
Second, when you sleep, how much do you remember? Even if you dream, you can never remember more than an hour of dream "footage," the other six or seven hours is lost.
Similarly, when people are afflicted with with schizophrenia, their personality may completely shatter. Causing them to behave like idiots. While not remembering any of this.
Something similar happens in the operating rooms. As well as when alcohol is indiscriminately consumed.
From the above, one can very quickly draw a very logical conclusion. The feeling of being ALIVE, aka, CONSCIOUSNESS, can only occur with a brain that is MATURED, ALERT, and CORRECTLY CONFIGURED.
We can conclude that when more than 5% of the brain is inactive or incorrectly configured, consciousness CANNOT occur.
Now, at death, 100% of the brain is inactive. 100% is incorrectly configured as well, now, to suggest that at this point, consciousness can occur, you'll be breaking Occam's razor. Completely, not just blunting it, consciousness is the product of a physical process. What spiritual proccess can replicate it. If so, why do we still need physical systems? Evolution is NOT that stupid. We should all be ghouls now. It's like saying you can use some spiritual legs to walk after you leg as been amputated, if that is possible, then why do you even have a physical leg?
OR, you could just believe in God. The omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, all majestic, sky Herbalist who is just really Good for explaining shyte like this.
Are babies not conscious? Is a schizo or autistic person not conscious? Is an old person with Alzheimer's not conscious? You appear to have a predetermined definition of consciousness which revolves around the ability to solve problems. What is known as the "problem solving consciousness" is but one of the forms in which consciousness can manifest itself. There are other levels, including sleep which is erroneously deemed an unconscious state. The first person observer in dreams is a living human person. Always. Remember when Descartes said "I think therefore, I AM," that was his signature way of letting you know that you are alive when you dream. Now, do schizos think or do they know that they think? I believe so, even if we don't all agree with the outcome of their thoughts. A madman walks around naked not because he isn't thinking but because his own consciousness doesn't give an eff about the feelings of other people. |
