I believe that our carbon based life form serves as a receiver for a remote consciousness. We see and think even with our eyes closed, i.e. sleep. The arrangement of this physical system at any moment in time determines the kind of consciousness that you receive. Problem solving consciousness is the most widely approved one, probably because most governments enforce it. Is it the best one? That's for you to decide.
