ManirBK: Las Vegas police have reportedly arrested a man in connection with the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur nearly three decades ago. The hip-hop legend was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996. The identity of his killer is still a mystery. On Friday morning Las Vegas police arrested a man over his death, according to sources speaking to AP news agency. Shakur was only 25 when he died. He died on 13 September 1996, a week after he was shot four times in his car while waiting at a red light. In a separate report, ABC News cited a senior law official confirming a suspect had been arrested in connection with the murder of Shakur and that charges would be announced on Friday afternoon. The development comes after Las Vegas police in July searched an alleged gang member's home for evidence over Shakur's death. The death of the rapper, one of the most acclaimed in hip-hop, has inspired several documentaries. Shakur, whose stage name was stylised as 2Pac, released his debut album in 1991. He sold more than 75 million records worldwide, enjoying chart success with hits including California Love, All Eyez On Me and Changes. In June this year the rapper received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

But the singer and music maker has maintained his stance of not having a hand in Mohbad’s sudden passing.
Speaking with Reno Omokri on Wednesday, Naira Marley explained that he had a recorded conversation with Mohbad, where he was pleading with the late singer not to kill himself.
Naira Marley explained that on this particular occasion, Mohbad’s ‘girl’ had called him [Naira Marley] telling him her partner had locked himself in a room and intended to take his own life.
“There’s some other time when I was in America and his girl called me and said he locked himself in a toilet and wanted to kill himself and I called him and kind of recorded the conversation asking him ‘why do you want to kill yourself?
“If your family is stressing you out, just tell them to go.’ ‘You’re a king, chill and do whatever you wanna do. Don’t kill yourself.
“If you kill yourself now what do you want people to say? You just made a video not long ago saying if you die they should hold Naira Marley?
“He locked himself in a room and this was after he made the video that I wanted to kill him. So I was so concerned…”

Famous Nollywood actresses, Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, have commenced grand preparations for the final burial of the late singer, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
DAILY POST recalls that Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, in a controversial circumstances and was horridly buried the following day, Wednesday 13.
Following investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death, the Lagos State Police Command a few days ago exhumed Mohbad’s body for autopsy and deposited his remains at the mortuary pending a proper funeral.
Announcing preparations for a befitting burial for singer on Thursday in an Instagram live session, Iyabo and Tonto arrived at a popular funeral home in Lagos, Ebony Vaults, to decide on a choice of casket and to finalize the plans for Mohbad’s final burial ceremony.
Tonto had earlier offered to pay for his casket, but the CEO of Ebony Vaults, Dehinde Harrison, caught them off guard when he stated that he would be giving casket, hall, pall bearers, horns men, two wreath bearers and a horse carriage services for free, including discount for the vault.
Speaking in the video, Iyabo Ojo said: “We are still seeking justice for Mohbad. Definitely we are still waiting for the police authority to come back to us on their ongoing investigation. Everybody around Mohbad is a suspect and they are all going through one form of interrogation or the other with the police.
But while that’s going, we have to make preparations for how he would be properly buried. And thank God we have been getting a lot of things for free and I think the only thing we would be paying for now is where he would be buried and all those things we are getting for free are not actually cheap for those of you who know Ebony Bulk their casket is not cheap.

Esther125: Nigerian music artiste, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has said that late rising star, Mohbad apologised to him after making a video alleging that he [Naira Marley] was after his life.
In a viral footage, Mohbad had told the world that Naira Marley and his Malian group should be held responsible if by any means he died.
And following his mysterious death recently, accusing fingers have been directed at the Malian Record boss.
However, in an interview with Reno Omokri, Naira Marley said he met the young musician after he made the video and has evidence of his apology to him.
“Till today I don’t understand. I tried to get him help when he went out like that. I wasn’t even in the country when he made that video,” Naira Marley said.
“I was out of the country. I’m sure it was during the NDLEA [arrest that he made the video]. Looking at the video again, I was getting information from everybody that was there because like I said, I wasn’t in the country.
“I kind of sent someone to the NDLEA before I got back. When I got back the next day, they said Mohbad was not there. They said Mohbad wasn’t among the people arrested.
“I didn’t bail Mohbad out anyway. It’s only Zino. So it was that paranoia…Zino was still in the NDLEA when he [Mohbad] made that video. I wasn’t around.
“I was outside Nigeria when he made that video saying if he dies they should hold Naira Marley and the Malians. So when I got back I asked him. When I got back, I met him.
“I spoke to trying to find out what was wrong but he said he didn’t understand and apologised. Yes. He apologised. I have a video on that.”
