Religion / Re: Marriage Between Xtian & Muslim? by WesleyanA(f): 1:29am On Jan 06, 2009 |
ttalks: there are many dimensions to religious practice. some people, like you, take their christianity to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. i.e it is sinful to talk to a muslim, watch tv, eat meat, wear pants, cook food blah blah blha Marriages between believers which fail are due to inconsistencies in the faith by either or the two of them and not because they are believers. what about marriages and relationships between a a christian and a muslim that DON'T FAIL?? read my previous post to see examples. and I don't get you. inconsistencies in their faith? explain please? what do you mean by inconsistency in their faith? If two christians get a divorce because , for example, one partner has a bad habit of, let's say excessive anger, nagging, smoking, cheating, domestic violence etc. is this faith related? they are not in spiritual agreement? please explain what you're talking about. thank you |

Naijagarl: haha. I was going to reply that post and then I saw yours. I agree 100% it's cheaper (bolded for emphasis) and a tad bit easier (I used "a tad bit" because it took me almost 7 hours to finish twisting my hair but it's well worth it. it will last me at least 3 wks). Just my personal opinion. people have different experiences. I can't imagine some people with natural hair though. The permed look suits their personality and all. lol so natural probably isn't for everyone especially if you don't like being in the minority. |
Islam for Muslims / Re: Son Of Hamas Leader Turns To Christ by WesleyanA(f): 12:56am On Jan 06, 2009 |
well, good for him. I hope he finds peace within himself. It was really sad to hear in the news that the Hamas top official that was recently killed (along with all his family members ) once sent one of his sons on a suicide bombing mission. |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Some Nigerians Here Are Sick Minded. No Compassion For The True Victims! by WesleyanA(f): 12:45am On Jan 06, 2009 |
*osisi*: If the muslims make this same argument you're making, heaven will fall. lol I can't imagine your response to: "The poster should preach to Bush. The blood of those kids are on his coconut head" why kill hundreds of innocent people because you don't like their guilty leader? what did the kids do? blood thirsty Israelis |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Some Nigerians Here Are Sick Minded. No Compassion For The True Victims! by WesleyanA(f): 12:38am On Jan 06, 2009 |
I agree with you. Many Nairalanders are bigots. But of course, the Israelis are "God's Chosen" so whatever they do is justified. whether killing hundreds of palestinian civilians ("by accident" they say) or commiting violence against others. Even though there are many examples in the Bible where God himself punishes israelites for their sins that are almost unforgivable. If the Jews are "God's chosen people", then these bigots are God's rejects |
Religion / Re: Marriage Between Xtian & Muslim? by WesleyanA(f): 12:28am On Jan 06, 2009 |
what makes people unique is their individuality. Your wife doesn't have to share exactly the same ideas as you otherwise, there will be no such thing as marriage, or even friendship, in the world. So, all the talk of spiritual, emotional, blah blah "agreement" is all trash. Agreement does count but Tolerance counts the most. I'm sure most of you bigots sometimes will disagree with members of your family but you have to deal with it and tolerate because you can't "divorce" them. lol @ OP, my advice to you is to find out her stance on the matter. If she wants to marry you despite her father, then go for it!! but move far away from her dad. He won't live in the marriage with you so his opinion shouldn't affect your decision unless you plan to depend on him or one reason or another (financially etc). lol to give you presonal examples, My former neighbors are a family that practice both christianity and islam. The father is muslim and the wife is christian and they live together in peace with their kids. Their alfa comes to their flat (or apartment?) to teach the kids the koran on wednesdays and the kids come with us to church on sundays. Eventually the children will grow up and decide for themselves which religion they will eventually profess after seeing both sides of the coin. In fact, my other neighbor is a muslim family and their daughter is christian and we go to the same church as well. In fact, the house I lived in back in Nigeria is a mix of christian and muslim and we all got along, shared food on each others' holidays watched soccer together etc so I don't see what the big deal is with all these religious animosity!!!! religion is a personal matter and people shouldn't let it interfere too much with their public interactions. |

Culture / Re: Who Names The Child? by WesleyanA(f): 6:36am On Dec 31, 2008 |
parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, even the pastor or alfa can name the child. but the parents have the greatest influence on which of the names will eventually "stick" to the child |
