Health / For Women Only by WesleyanA(f): 9:32pm On Jan 19, 2008
what do you define as a stable period? do you see your period in the same week every month or what?
mine is very irregular and i skip sometimes. the length of days is also irregular.
what causes this? i'm 17

no! i'm not pregnant. tongue
Health / Re: I Want To Add More Weight. by WesleyanA(f): 9:24pm On Jan 19, 2008
just reduce your level of activity and eat more i guess. if that doesn't work, just don't stress it. just look at the positive side and tell yourself that it's a compliment to look younger tongue cheesy
Food / Re: Please Ooo.What is the English name for OFULOJU? Ki Ni Naa? by WesleyanA(f): 9:05pm On Jan 19, 2008
why do you want an english name for it? undecidedi thought it was a yoruba food.
there is no english name for it because it's not an english food.

what's the yoruba name for pizza and hamburger?

oh my. . . I haven't had ofuloju in years. it's like moi moi with a different twist. no oil no red pepper no nothing. but i loved it. grin
Food / Re: Why Do People Stool After Eating Beans? by WesleyanA(f): 8:22pm On Jan 19, 2008
beans is a good source of dietary FIBER

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietary_fiber
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietary_fiber#Sources_of_fiber

fiber is actually very good for the body. just don't consume too much. A lot of Americans don't get enough so they have constipation and have to take medication and drugs to make them stool. what you can naturally get from food like beans.

so count your blessings tongue
Crime / Re: The Pathetic Story Of An Igbo Woman In Dallas by WesleyanA(f): 3:11pm On Jan 18, 2008
stark:

MADAM AM REALLY VERY SORRY FOR ALL THAT You WENT THRU FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS. BUT IF I MAY ASK, IF UR "LONG STORY" IS ANY THING TO DEAL WITH, WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO GO THRU ALL THIS HELL, BEFORE LETTING THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG, WHEN You HAVE ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS TO GO FOR REDRESS. GET THE POLICE INVOLVED OR DIVORCE! AM AFRAID IF You ARE REALLY SAYING ALL THE TRUTH. WE ALL KNOW THAT THE ALMIGHTY AMERICAN LAWS PROTECTS THE WOMEN WELL MORE THAN THE MEN. ARE You GOOFED?

she said her husband brought her from her village in Nigeria at age 18 (easy victim) who knows if she even has green card.
but 20 years is still too long of a time to come into ones senses. lol
so many women like that in the US even american ones. they even showcase them on Oprah sometimes undecided
some episode on Oprah talked about formulating an escape plan
keep a diary, hide all important documents, keep a key copy with a neighbor or friend etc. before calling the police or running away. and make sure he won't find you where you're hiding. lol i watch too much Oprah

some women are dumb though to let stuff like that happen to them.

Romance / Re: Fat Girls And Their Admirers Only by WesleyanA(f): 1:57pm On Jan 18, 2008
why use the term "fat girls." That's kinda rude IMO. undecided
chubby or curvy are better terms i think.

just as "slim" or "slender" are preferred words over "skinny" or "scrawny" or "bony"

(i'm slim myself but i think society puts too much pressure nowadays on women to become skeletons (very unhealthy) that even the average people get called fat. that's unfair IMO)

most important thing is to LOVE yourself.

Fashion / Re: What Are You Wearing Now? by WesleyanA(f): 3:30am On Jan 18, 2008

pajamas, hoodie, socks. . .
Family / Re: Is A Jobless Man The Head Of His Family? by WesleyanA(f): 2:23am On Jan 18, 2008

Headship in households by men came by ordination from God and not by their own making.

maybe God intend for us to define "man" as someone who is a hardworking leader (that's the definition of "head" in my opinion). can be female even.
the guy in question is NOT a MAN. he is an animal. a useless one lipsrsealed so no. he is not the head of his family.

if you are not responsible, it is possible for God to fire you from your position. he fired a lot of people in the bible i'm sure. that guy has been fired from his position. lol head ko head ni

tkb417:

where will my car be?
i'll drive mine. . .or better still, i'll drive her car and she sits beside me.

from your post, you'd much rather prefer to have a girlfriend who doesn't have a driver's license grin

Culture / Re: American Women That Marry Nigerian Men by WesleyanA(f): 6:39am On Jan 10, 2008
i met a guy who told me he would only marry an american for visa and i know a guy who really loves his american girlfriend.
i also know a guy who actually married an american for visa. he got his green card and is currently going through divorce processes (he has wife nd kids back home in naija). i don't know him personally though he's just a friend of my dad.
you just have to find the right one i guess. undecided
goodluck in your searches.
Romance / Who Sits In Front: Your Boyfriend Or Bestfriend? by WesleyanA(f): 6:21am On Jan 10, 2008
this is a spin off of the "girlfriend or bestfriend" topic. who should sit in front with you? your boyfriend or your bestfriend?

ps: this is assuming a good sized female driver demographic exists in Naija (i didn't see a lot of female drivers before i left) maybe that's why we're used to taking backseat. lol

Politics / Re: Solution To Unemployment In Nigeria by WesleyanA(f): 9:00am On Dec 19, 2007
education (formal) isn't the ultimate solution to unemployment in Nigeria.

i think providing blue collar jobs will help a lot more. then maybe they can make enough money to send their kids to school.
majority of jobs are blue collar anyways.

i don't think it's possible to have a country with just book smarts. if that was the case, America won't be admitting millions of cheap labor immigrant workers from other countries.

education helps though. definitely.
Politics / Re: Was Colonialism Good For Africa? by WesleyanA(f): 8:54am On Dec 19, 2007
i would say no.

plus, colonialism shaped most of the cultures and traditions we have today but that's beside the point.
In fact, we're still being colonized. neocolonialism.
Literature / Re: How Do We Revive Our Dying Reading Culture? by WesleyanA(f): 7:09am On Dec 11, 2007
i don't think we had a reading culture before in the first place. sad

build public libraries in communities
sell papers written in pidgin (?)
cheaper books and papers in general
etc
