Why are we always quick to bring solution awkwardly to problems that we have? Instead of taking the long step in correcting our road problems, we are always quick to follow the short-cut. There are so many reasons why trailers wreck havoc in the society: from bad roads to overloading, to inexperienced drivers, to poorly maintained vehicles, to lack of institution of proper road usage for articulated vehicles, to lack of speed limits on our roads, to life span of vehicles et c., but nobody wants to invest time to look at it.
Sometimes it seems as if the government is afraid of making some good money off defaulters, or else why should we go the ban way when we can make money from these trailers. Or government is afraid losing money to/from dishonest staff-- I have a not so bad plan. The nighttime this governor wants the trailer drivers to start operating is one whose abused effects during the daytime contribute majorly in road mishaps. Not every trailer accident is caused by brake failure; some are due to accumulated fatigue, a little napping on the wheel, stress et c. Why can't there be a law requiring that a trailer must have a driver, an asst. driver, and a trainee driver or conductor? There must be shifting between these drivers instead of one driver trying to be active in twenty hours out of twenty-four hours.
To tell you the truth, it is high time the government stopped inflicting untold hardship on people when they are not ready to bring something on the table. If the tempo of this ban and what not is maintained, one day we may wake to the knowledge that our free movement has been infringed. A responsible government does not try to run away from problems rather it provides means of preventing, containing and solving problems.

I don't know how else to qualify it other than child abuse, buh its worse than that. Beating/caning/spanking is much worse than child abuse. I was a victim of this..and to be frank, it hasn't helped me in anyway. I believe there are a million and one ways to discipline a child other than flogging him/her like a horse...Some ways that work are; witholding privileges, rewarding them for some of the good things they do OR telling them the possible rewards that comes after every good thing they do and repeatedly telling them the consequences of the bad things they do, and by practicing what you(the parent) preach ..

I have come to accept that we all are unique-- what works for/on me may not necessary work for/on you. In my arsenal (talking; caning; other punishments like kneeling, picking pin et c) of reforming the younger generation I administer all of them at once on the new offenders, yet noting the one most effective on him or her. As time goes on, what may keep him from straying into evil behaviours may be the application of 'that' one item or the mixture of two or more of the items on arsenal. Nevertheless, to err is human.

What are we still waiting for the re-introduction of speed limits and its enforcement on drivers and riders alike? There should be periodic assessment of our drivers and vehicles in the commercial transport sector. Commercial driving should not be the last resort of people who can't find the job of their dreams. I am sure kidnappings do happen like this but this story I have problems believing. The money part is ok....but my problem is with Friday sending sms to the parents. I can see him doing so when he knew he was going to be sacrificed .... but he knew that only when the men grabbed him and bound his hands and feet... at this point he couldn't send sms.
