Mr Ben Koufie one word, kwasia ! ![]() |
Ex-Ghana FA chief Ben Koufie plans to make a recommendation to FIFA to ban Nigeria and Ivory Coast from playing at the U-17 World Cup for age cheating. Koufie says he will make a recommendation to the world football's governing body to ban countries from age-group competitions if any of their players fail age tests. Magnetic Resonance Image scans have been used by both FIFA and the Confederation of African Football to check on the true ages of players as the clampdown on age cheats intensifies. Nine players were banned from the African U-17 event after failing tests. The players hailed from Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Congo. Now Nigeria and Ivory Coast have qualified for the World Cup to be held in the UAE later this year. Koufie, who has worked with the technical committees of both CAF and FIFA, now wants FIFA to enforce tougher punishments for teams whose players fail MRI scans. "I am going to make some recommendations to FIFA that it should just not be a matter of disqualifying players from tournaments when they have failed their MRI in a specific competition," Koufie told BBC Sport. "If the players played in the qualifying matches for that competition, that team must be disqualified because it used disqualified players in the qualifying process. "Once you are caught and it is proven that the player played in the qualifying matches then you have to be disqualified. "Coaching at this level must be taken seriously because that is the formative stage. The U-17 is not a must-win area." "I am worried about it because it is not fair at all to the youngsters. It is called U-17 because it is a development stage." http://odili.net/news/source/2013/apr/30/833.html |
Same here. I was a kid then, but I could remember vividly all that happened then, and i was fortunate or should i say unfortunate to be in a military barrack then. We saw first hand all the intrigues, counter coup and power play that took place after Orkar's announcement. After the coup failed or look like it was gonna fail, we started seeing so many J5 buses abadoned inside and outside the barracks. A lot of military guys that partook in the coup were abandoning their military gears for civilian clothing. I happen to know a military family friend that partook in the coup ( Major Mukoro), he was later killed along with so many junior officers. It was a sad day for those brilliant young officers, and also a sad day for Nigeria. I think the coup failed, cuz of those 5 northern state that Orkar mentioned in his broadcast. We remembered in the initial stage, it had popular support even within military, but all of sudden everything started collapsing. We heard Abacha has retaking the Bonny camp barracks, Doddan barracks and there was one Major Biu who took the ikeja cantonments and 242 recci battalion from the coup plotters. Had it been successful, maybe Nigeria would have been a better Nation today. Look at 23 yrs after the failed coup, Nigeria is still deep in corruption, nepotism, lots of dishonesty, get-rich-quick syndrome, space age kleptomania, parochial tribalism/sectionalism, 'me first' syndrome, indiscipline everywhere. What a pity ! |
I hope all this is true. However, keep in mind that the HIV can lay dormant and then "re-activate". Many studies conducted have claimed many were eradicated of the virus only to have it re-develop later. Let's hope for the best.. |
Is any one surprised...? Even thiefs and armed robbers say prayers before they go on their mission. |
I believe it has more to do with the type of relationship and interaction(s) they have with their children....
If any parent ever reaches a point where he or she has to use such means as duplicity or copy then that parent has failed... Parenting with success is not achieved by means of compromise...Rather it is achieved by the effective administration of love and firmness without any compromise of values or negotiation. |
Let me understand the logic here: to discourage your children from doing something inappropriate, you threaten them to do the same inappropriate stuff.. Now if my son decides to let us say smoke pot or take a prostitute, do I need to do the same in order to discourage him?! |
Lol And the plot thickens ~ZN~ = Tyson55 end of. I may be wrong though, but I very much suspect it to be so. |
Next generation must take Nigeria to moon- not with the way our present crop of leaders are governing the country. How will that be possible when they continue to take the country to a destructive path. Where are the incentives that will galvanize the youth and steer them towards that goal? |
Rubbish!!! |
Next generation must take Nigeria to moon - Jonathan by ALLWELL OKPI President Goodluck Jonathan, on Saturday, described the present generation of Nigerians as the transformational generation, saying the next generation must take the country to the moon. Jonathan said this at the inauguration and opening of the Rock Cathedral Metropolitan Church of Christ in Lagos. Jonathan described the current unpleasant experiences in the country, as the caterpillar stage in the development of a butterfly, saying the challenges were necessary for the country's development. "We all need to work hard to make sure that our children will inherit a better Nigeria. This is a transformational generation. The next generation that will take over from us must take Nigeria to the moon," he said. The President further described the cathedral as "an achievement of science and technology and one of arts and great faith." He said, "It stands as a visible sign of the presence of God in our lives. It signifies one of the main ways children of God can glorify His name. It's also a demonstration of the fact that we, as Nigerians, can attain great achievements in any endeavour, where we put our energy, industry and determination. "Embodied in this place are the spirits of charity, partnership and considerations, which are the foundations of love, the most important thing in Christianity and in most of the world's religion. Clearly, it is the love of God and humanity that has stirred Pastor Paul Adefarasin to conceive and execute this impressive project, and include in it elements of human capital and community development and health care delivery. "If we all do our parts, no matter how small, Nigeria will be a great nation. He also thanked Nigerian youths and reassured them that the Federal Government would continue to work towards a better country. "When we work together, just like House on the Rock did to build this edifice, there is nowhere we cannot reach," he said. The former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. Tony Blair, who was the guest of honour at the ceremony, described the cathedral as an extraordinary achievement and a sign of the greatness Nigeria could achieve if it worked hard on developing its potential. http://odili.net/news/source/2013/apr/21/809.html |

I hope Okupe is not being reckless with this accusation, cuz it's weighty, he should have a concrete prove for this. And if they think they possess one, they shouldn't hesitate to go for Buhari's jugular. |

The UK has Mrs.Thatcher to thank for becoming relevant again thru the 80's.Without her common sense and determination they were on the path of creeping European socialism that has now effectively bankrupted a third of the Europe. RIP Mrs.Thatcher. |
This is a done deal, Amnesty will be accepted by BH. The group would have dismissed the offer outright if they had no interest. The good news is that their leaders are considering the offer and will accept it soon enough..
Hmmm...You seems to be privy to the whole BH info, how could you Possibly know and be sure of the bolded? ![]() #JustSaying |
druid06: Dude, you're not Nigerian. My conclusion was based on your post. Just because you're born in Nigerian doesn't makes you one. A true Nigerian would never wash it's countries problem outside. A true Nigerian would always defend his country at any cost.. For all I care, you might be a south-A$$friican.It's obvious he isn't a Nigerian, probably a Naija wannabe. |
