Are causes and creators the same thing, in you opinion?
Causes create effects. That's an accurate statement bro.

Don't get this. Why believe Honda Accord was formed over millions of years? Are you suggesting it evolved into being?
No, it is you people who are suggesting that the human brain, much more complex than the latest Honda series, evolved into being. There is no evidence to support it.

Its called "god of the gaps", they look for something we haven't been able to explain (properly) then insert their favourite mythology as the explanation and hope you take it at face value
If mysterious activity defies nature right now in your presence, I'm sure you'll say " well science has not found this out but it will", is that not atheism of the gaps?
I've heard several atheists use this line and I'll open a thread on it soon.

They're conflating theological claims with scientific ones. I'll take their claims serious when they create Honda cars with spoken words
I can create a scene or a living with spoken words.

Cooked up a scrumptious dish out of nothing

The universe was created out of nothing

I too have not seen a Honda Accord created. But I can find out if it was, how it was, where it was, and who created it, easily. I can, if I am so concerned, even go watch a Honda Accord created by a creator, from scratch.

There does not seem to exist, the evidence for the creator you mention though, or that everything that exists was created.
it is much more believe that the Honda accord was formed over millions of years.

Everything that exists is the effect of a cause.

Listen to what others are saying a bit. True, anything that is created requires a creator. It's not yet agreed that everything that exists is created by a creator.

Work with dalaman to flesh this understanding out please.
Not everything directly requires a creator, I gave perfect examples of exhaust smoke and goosebumps. It will be inaccurate for me to say someone created smoke.

I think the long and short of this argument is that there is no effect without a cause, and last I checked, science agrees with this.

....Compare the human body with?? In what terms are you asking? The human body as we know it now is as a results of millions of years of evolution by means of natural selection. The evidence to this is in every sphere of life such as in bacteria, dogs and even whales.
Except you're talking about pseudoscience, science is observable. We have observed micro evolution in finch birds, dogs, flies and many other biological organisms. What we have not observed is macro evolution I.e change of kinds.
You can show me just one observable evidence of change of kinds.

sKeetz:
The claim that life forms and the universe must have been intelligently designed is riddled with fallacies which I could go into details if you would permit me. If everything was designed, what can we make of a designer that has left billions of his designs to die of diseases, wars, natural disasters and starvation. Your so called intelligent designer, it seems; has a very poor maintenance culture. It would interest you to know that 98% of species that ever existed on earth are currently extinct. Now, that is surely the handwork of a not so intelligent designer.
This has nothing to do with the validity of the claims of intelligent design. If the design is left to die, it was first created.
This is a totally different argument.

sKeetz:
Even if an intelligent designer was proven to be true; you'll still have your work cut out for you. You would now have to prove that he is your own version of god; that he needs to be worshiped in the exact manner which you do and that he needs your money in form of tithes etc.
I never spoke about God or worship. smiley

So, in the process of a rock forming, would you say, what caused the formation of the rock is the creator?
I'd rather say its a by product of creation just like the exhaust smoke analogy I just gave.

When we go into details, its an indirect result of creation, and creation always requires a creator.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Atheist's Mind Free Enough To Question Atheism? by winner01(op): 7:22pm On May 13, 2018

How do you determine what a "Creator" is?
The cause of a result.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Atheist's Mind Free Enough To Question Atheism? by winner01(op): 7:22pm On May 13, 2018
budaatum:
No I have not seen "creation" without a "creator". But I have seen things that exist without a creator. And I repeat, a rock.

I see a rock exists, but I cannot honestly say I saw a creator creating rocks. And its process of formation does not include a creator. It would even be dishonest to call a rock, a creation of a creator as rock formation does not require such an external agent to occur.

In effect, I have seen things in existence that have not been created by a creator. A rock.
Honestly bro, I believe you bro, I've never had to admit this but I will; I never saw a creator creating my Honda accord, neither can I honestly say that I saw a creator creating the smoke that emanates from the exhaust pipe.

I fully admit that the exhaust smoke, just like stones or goosebumps do not directly require a creator.

I also agree to a large extent that you might have seen things that have not been directly created by a creator, but what I can strongly suggest is that everything in existence is product of Creation forms. Goosebumps are not directly created, thy are more like by products of creation, just like stones or smoke or snow.

They are all major or minor effects, to which there are causes.

Snow has a creator? Little beings working in a factory in the sky dropping small drops of ice cold water perhaps?
No, snow is part of the Creation. Snow is created when small ice fragments in clouds stick together and fall to the ground.

Stop being sarcastic, I asked the fella a simple question. Have you seen creation without a creator?
He went ahead to give an example, fulgurite, a byproduct of creation, just like snow, just like goosebumps. Hell even tears are not created.
