Anas09:
Let me tell you a short story I made up when I did script wrting back in school. I hope I'll answer this question abit.

Once upon a time, there was a young King who inherited his fathers throne at a very young age. He didn't have a Queen, so he needed one. All his advicers had pretty daughters and fell over themselves trying to present their daughters as the best for the position. But there was a problem.

The people in his kindom knew who he was, and they knew that as the king, everything in his domain belonged to him, and everyone was subject to obey him.
He yarned for Pure and true love without any fear of subjugation. He wanted a queen who didn't know him, so had the right to say NO to him. As a matter of fact, he wanted a queen who can say no to him even when they were married. He wanted a queen who will have freedom, the Free Will to choose either to stay or to live him. He knew that, you can force a man to obey you, but you can't force a man to love you. And he needed love.

So, one day, he noticed for the first time a house keeper doing her chores. It was her turn to clean the Kings private Chambers. She won't even raise her head to look at the around. She knew that the King was there quietly reading a book, but then observing her.
The King knew that this girl didn't know him, so, at the cool of the day, after her close of work, the King disguises as one of the cleaners too and followed her from a distance to their hut. He kept doing that until one day, he approached and went into her house to meet her Parents.
They became friends. She continued going to work without knowing the very Palace she worked was a home of her friend. The King later proposed marriage to her and she accepted his proposal before she came to know he was indeed King.

Morale of the Story. The King is Christ, the girl is me, and the palace is the Kingdom of God being presented to us every day.
God is soveriegn, but allows us to take responsibility for our actions. He knows all things, yes. He can do all things Yes. But you have a responsibility, to do or not to do. Obidience without the room to disobey is not Obidience at all.

The younger Pauper girl could have said no to the King. But then, she would ve missed being the queen.

The Sinner is dead and ignorant of his state. A sinner is not a drawing man fighting to catch a lifeline. He is dead. Dead men don't appreciate anything. First Jesus goes right into that grave and pulls him out, make him realise his state, but doesn't force him to make the choice of accepting or rejecting the direction he is pointed towards.
Choose you this day whom you will serve...Jos. 24:15.
I present to you this day, life and dead. Choose (take the responsibility, you are not a robot). If you choose Life, you shall live, if you choose dead, you shall die...Deut 30:15! 19.
God bless you my sister, i hope more people can learn from this.

Christianity Etc › How Do Free Will And God's Sovereignty Work Together? by winner01(op): 7:20pm On Nov 30, 2015
God's sovereignty means that God is in control of all things. Free will refers to our human choices. How can God's perfect control of all things work with our free will?

Our human limitations make complete understanding of these two areas impossible. However, Scripture does offer insight regarding this matter. Romans 8:29 teaches, "For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son." God both knew and set in motion actions within created time that led to this conclusion.

A major issue in understanding the relationship between God's sovereignty and human free will is the relationship between God's existence outside of created space-time and human existence within space-time. God exists outside of our created universe and can see the beginning of time, end of time, and every step along the process all at the same time. When He planned the universe, He knew every step in advance.

As humans living within physical space and time, our minds are not able to work outside of space-time to see the universe and its events all taking place at once. Therefore, the relationship between God's sovereignty and human free will appears contradictory. From a human perspective, God cannot both choose events to happen and then allow humans to freely choose actions at a later time. But time is not a limiting factor to God. His power transcends our limitations and allows Him to work from a vantage point that overrides space-time conflicts to coordinate His perfect plan.

This is why the preceding verse to Romans 8:29 can state, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). He can cause all things, good and bad and everything in between, to come together as part of His perfect purposes for our individual lives as well as for His overall plan for creation.

It is when we begin to see life from God's perspective that we realize His greatness, wisdom, and power. While we believe in Jesus by faith (Romans 10:9, John 3:16), we love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19) and because He chose us (John 15:16). We are called to follow God's commands, knowing He is the one who gives us the power to live for Him and to do His will.

johnydon22:
So people should thank God over the misfortunes of others?
No people should thank God for everything at all times.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

johnydon22:
what type of selfish, disturbing, evil mind do people possess these days in the name of theism.
Coming from someone who believes morality is subjective. Oh great!!!. What you consider selfish, disturbing and evil might be their own good, rememberundecided.
I find it rather selfish that you want people to conform to your idea of good. Whatever it is man, you're screwed.

johnydon22:

This video shows a man with an overly enlarged scrotum, a man suffering and in pain yet all you could derive from it is to Thank God that it didn't befall you?
In good we thank God.
In adversity, we thank God.
In all things, we thank God.
Job gave the following reply when his wife asked him to curse God for the bad like you and your brothers do:
Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

And the op simply typed:
"Watch this video and tell me why you should not be thankful to God For Good Health",
not "be thankful to God that it didnt befall you" as you have simulated.

Even in your quest to make sense, dont try to make the op feel like he's inhuman and you are humanitarian. We know you arnt.
Boko haram killed 7 yesterday and abducted several girls yet again, i dont see you on islams page trying to free them from their mental slavery.
Or would you choose death over pain.undecided I guess not.

You'd prefer to spend your life infesting harmless threads to scavenge on weak minds and gain more cheap nairaland popularity among your certain retard circles.
Great Job. Keep at it.

johnydon22:
Are you more deserving than he is?
No, we give thanks to the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth in all things. its a mandate.
So are you more deserving than he is?

johnydon22:
So God found it better to make you normal and give him and enlarged scrotal sack?
Permit me to say, you wasted your years in the seminary. If you are this dumb to the basics, i wonder if you ever understood anything you were taught in church.

johnydon22:
So you are thanking God for letting calamity befall others just because you are exempted from that calamity.
Only dumbs wont get your message.
The op is simply thanking God for his good health and encouraging other people not to take prayers and praises for granted. Thats simply his message.
Dont unnecessarily paint him black and play on other weak minds.
He's not thanking God for the calamity of the man in question, if anything, he's thanking God for the life of the man with the reality that when there is still life, there is hope

johnydon22:
This is not only disturbing but is demeaning to human mind and is a severe wound to human compassion.
What can you claim to know about the human mind and compassion especially without physical proofs of their independent existenceundecided.
Whats your yardstick for measuring human compassion as a higher animal?
Its ironic how y'all look up to the moral basis created by "primitive men" whose level of sanity could not be verified.

johnydon22:
By banking on the misfortunes of others in other to thank what ever nonsense is it you are thanking because you are exempted from such misfortunes shows you off to be an egocentric, extremely selfish human devoid of basic human compassion.
How far are you willing to go in this your "nothing" evangelism.undecided
You want people to conform to your own idea of "moral, compassion, and humanity". And you arnt selfish?undecided. Why not reason with such people in your "free for all humanitarian campaign".
Its time you started living what you preach.

johnydon22:
Somehow in your deluded mind you think you are more deserving than others who misfortunes befall that's why you deem it right to thank your God because of the misfortunes of others.
In your desperation, you are becoming a more terrible person by the day.
You rope people at will, making people's beliefs look stup1d without pausing to realize your own supreme stup1dity.
Why not just chill, look around you and make sense of it all.

johnydon22:
I can never know what it is to possess such a sick and selfish mind mind without simple human compassion and concern for other people's misfortunes..
Yeah, you cant know what it is to be reasonable, as far as im concerned atheism is devoid of reasoning.

You speak of concern for peoples misfortune, but ill let the people bear me witness on this:
I dont see atheists showing concern or compassion for the utterly hopeless on sick and death beds, for those in prison cells, for the motherless, and other unfortunate persons, I see christians not only showing concern, but spreading messages of hope and putting smiles on the faces of the hopeless.

I dont know if its fun for you, but most times you make no sense whatsoever.

Dude used the most befitting adjective on you

tommysparks:
when are you going to succeed in casting out that demon, oh ye spirit filled pocket enriching money and prosperity worshipper
Im not criticizing anybody or religion but the truth is bitter.
Its true many demonic agents have also infiltrated the pentecostal christendom, i need you to realize that the devil will stop at nothing in his quest to lead people away from the truth.

The rosary, marian intercession, bowing to saint statues and relics etc can never be found in the Bible except in extrabiblical references such as The marian apparitions, secet of the saints and related.

I met a man sometimes ago that had pictures of mary on a table decorated with candles in his house. He bowed down to it frequently during prayers.
At first i didnt understand, until i tried to find out why.

Christianity Etc › Re: Since Catholic Is The Cradle Of Christianity by winner01(m): 3:49pm On Nov 28, 2015
First of all, catholic is not the cradle of christianity. Christianity itself is. At some point in history it was hijacked and imposed forcefully.
Other extrabiblical references had to be invented to support the idea of the rosary, the statue of the saints, vain prayer repititions, the exaltation of mary amongst others. Anglican recognised this and broke off but still retained some demonic practices.

Even admist the extremely powerful catholics, somehow christianity rose again With the help of God and the fact that you cant bury the truth.

Jesus came to cancel religion and establish truth, that explains why the religious leaders of his time were constantly against Him.

Take For instance, the issue of the rosary. The same demon is responsible for the islamic beads, the african traditional religion beads and even indian beads and many other religious beads.
You pray to it by counting each bead and recitals, it dosent matter what you say to it.
The Bible has made itself clear on what idolatry is.

If theres anything the devil is committed to, it would be to lead people away from the truth. No matter how a lie seems appealing, Catholicism is its own religion.

Peace.
