Christianity Etc › Without The Shedding Of Blood, There Is NO Forgiveness. by winner01(op): 11:53pm On Aug 15, 2015
When Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of calves, together with water, scarlet wool and branches of hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll and all the people. He said, “This is the blood of the covenant, which God has commanded you to keep.” In the same way, he sprinkled with the blood both the tabernacle and everything used in its ceremonies. In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness ( Hebrews 9:19-22 ).

Both the Old and New Covenants were put into effect by blood. The blood proved the death, thereby enforcing and enacting the will of the one who died ( Hebrews 9:17 ). Leviticus 17:11 explains why the blood was used, “For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life” ( Leviticus 17:11 ). So it was necessary for both Covenants to be ushered in by blood, because first it proved the death because the blood is the life force. And secondly, it was given for atonement. So without it, there could be no forgiveness for sins.

Jesus’ blood was shed to usher in the New Covenant. His blood proved that a death had occurred thereby enacting His last will and testament . His blood was the price necessary for this will to come to pass, in other words, it put this covenant into effect. The New Covenant is not only the will of Jesus, whose blood ushered it in, it is also the will of God. Throughout Jesus’ time on earth He said over and over that His will was to do the will of the Father ( John 6:38 ). He stressed that what He said was only what the Father told Him to say ( John 8:28 ) and He did only what He saw the Father do ( John 5:19 ). His words and teachings were not His own but from the One who sent Him ( John 7:16 ). In fact John 6:38 summarizes this very nicely, “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me” ( John 6:38 ). The writer of Hebrews starts chapter 1 by declaring that Jesus is the exact representation of God the Father ( Hebrews 1:3 ). Since they are one and the same, we can see that Jesus’ blood was the life force that was able to usher in the will of God, which was the New Covenant.

Not only did Jesus’ blood prove the death and put the Covenant into effect. Part of the New Covenant that God spoke of through the prophets included the forgiveness of sins ( Jeremiah 31:31-34, Isaiah 54:13, Hebrews 8:8-12, Hebrews 10:16-18 ). Leviticus 17:11 says the life force is in the blood and this is used as a means for atonement. So Jesus’ blood served multiple purposes, it enacted the Will of the Covenant and it was the cleansing agent for sin. If no blood was shed, there couldn’t be any forgiveness for sins.

The Vines Dictionary of New Testament Words brings clarification to this point. There are two words used for blood in Hebrews 9. The first one is haima , which has many meanings, but in this case it denotes the blood of sacrificial victims ( Hebrews 9:7 ). “The "blood" of Christ, which betokens His death by the shedding of His "blood" in expiatory sacrifice; to drink His "blood" is to appropriate the saving effects of His expiatory death, John 6:53. As "the life of the flesh is in the blood," Lev 17:11, and was forfeited by sin, life eternal can be imparted only by the expiation made, in the giving up of the life by the sinless Savior” (Vines Dictionary). In other words, life had been forfeited because of sin, which is why Jesus’ life was given so that He, as a sinless man, could impart eternal life through this sacrifice. Jesus himself said this, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you . Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” ( John 6:53-54 ). Our life was forfeited because of sin, but Jesus’ blood was shed to forgive and restore us to a state as if we had never sinned in the first place ( II Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 9:12, Hebrews 9:26, Hebrews 10:10, Hebrews 10:12, Hebrews 10:14, Hebrews 10:18).

The second word for blood used in Hebrews 9:22 is haimatekchysia, which means the “shedding of blood”, to pour out. Jesus didn’t just give His blood, He let it flow freely. In fact, it didn’t stop until every last drop had been given. He was poured out unto death, which is what Isaiah prophesied about Him, “Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors” ( Isaiah 5:3:12 ). His life force completely covered, cleansed and annulled sin. Our lives had been forfeited because of sin, however His blood completely reversed the effect of sin so that we could experience eternal life.

Jesus understood this which is why He spoke these words while reclining at the table with His disciples at the last supper. “Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” ( Matthew 26:27-28 ). He knew the price to bring us to the Father and His own words testify to the fact that He would let the blood flow freely. He knew His blood would usher in the covenant and it would completely and utterly blot out and destroy the effects and stains of sins.

His perfect blood was shed to usher in both the New Covenant and the forgiveness of sins. Neither one could be accomplished without it which is why He freely gave himself to the will of God. Jesus accomplished what we could not and because of His sacrifice we have been forgiven, freed and offered eternal life through the person of Jesus Christ.
God bless you.

Without beating about the bush, you previously was given a direct answer, when I mentioned that, the answer is in Exodus 33 and particularly at Exodus 33:23
I think it was 2 or 3 lines answer. How much more direct can that be?

There is no shame in admitting you couldnt get your head round the meaning of ''you'll see my back'', ''my face must not be seen'' and ''Please, let me see Your glory''

''Please, let me see Your glory'' by the way, incidentally was the original request made by Moses, which lead to the God ''back'' and ''face'' concession.

Am beginning to suspect, you never, as advised, read Exodus 33:8-23, pay attention to Exodus 33:17-23 and watch out for the clincher at Exodus 33:23?

Exodus 33:23

It does not make sense at all. To me Jesus wasa prophet of God sent to propagate his message on earth. and he ascended to heaven and destined to return to earth to live a human liveand undergoes the human cycle of living.
Sex in Heaven lets examine it.

More and more we hear of ignorance from Christians who criticize Islam for claiming that Paradise will have physical pleasures in it similar to the ones that we have here on earth. Personally, I've heard cheap comments before about the 70 Houris for men in Heaven and how the Prophet, peace be upon him, "promised Hot desert men" sex in Paradise.
Bashing is easy, and believe me, nothing is easier than bashing the gospel of porn bible for claiming that women's vaginas and breasts taste like "wine", and that sisters can look lustfully at their biological brothers and wish to have sex with them in bed. All of the quotes from the gospel of porn are locate at: X-Rated Pornography in the Bible.
Note: The exact number of 70 Houris is not mentioned in the Noble Quran. It is only mentioned in the Hadiths (collections of the Sayings of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him). But Houris were mentioned in the Noble Quran. So the number is most likely true, even though the Hadiths were collected centuries after the natural death of the Prophet. In other words, the possibility of the Hadith being corrupt (most of the Bible is mostly corrupt), is slim because the Noble Quran supports the narration by mentioning the Houris as shown at the end of the article. Please visit: What parts of the Hadiths and Bible do Muslims believe are closest to the Truth, and Why?
Now having said all of that, let us now get technical here. The answer to the questions above is quite simple and requires no 50-page lengthy article to prove it.

Pleasures in the Islamic Heaven: Spiritual or Sensual?
Ever wondered why Christian missionaries come up with all kinds of stupid arguments in their bid to confuse the Truth? The answer is simple. For years they have been envious of the steady and deep inroads Islam has made into the hearts and minds of the people in the West. Decades ago, Adolf Hitler said;

“… it may be remarked that the progress made by the missions in spreading the Christian Faith abroad was only quite modest in comparison with the spread of Mohammedanism.” (Mein Kampf, Translated and annotated by James Murphy, Hurst & Blackett Ltd., Dec. 1939 p. 225)

And for a surety recently these wounds of envy have only got deeper. And the outcome is all the slandering campaign against the most demonized and yet the most rapidly growing religion.

Objections about Islamic Heaven:

The Heaven, they say, as represented in Qur’an and Hadith, Islam’s primary sources, is too sensuous and devoid of any spiritual fervor.

Christians take exception to the idea of palaces, maidens and other material delights in the Islamic heaven. Their main trouble lies with concept of spouses in the paradise. They argue as to how one can have sex in the ‘presence of God’?

Why material and physical delights?

We are humans, and even after resurrection we shall be humans, no doubted perfected but humans still. In wake of this reality John Davenport makes a valid observation;

“Another charge brought against Mohammed is the sensual character of the joys promised by him in his Paradise to those who shall receive his Law, and conform their lives to the precepts it contains; but, upon reflection, it will be found that there is nothing so absurd in this as is generally imagined by Christians, when it is considered that our bodies will, as we are told, assume, at the resurrection, a form so perfect as infinitely to surpass all that we can conceive, and that our senses will acquire so extraordinary an activity and vigour as to be susceptible of the greatest pleasures, each according to the difference of their objects, for, indeed, if we take away from those faculties their proper exercise, if we deprive them of the fit objects to please and gratify them, it cannot be otherwise than supposed that they have not only been given us to no purpose, but even to inflict upon us continual disappointment and pain. For, in fact, by supposing that the soul and body are restored to us, as must necessarily be the case if our bodies are restored in a perfect state, it is not clear upon what grounds it can be supposed that the senses should not have objects to exercise upon, in order to be capable of bestowing and of tasting all the pleasures which they may be capable of affording. Can there be any sin, crime, shame or degradation in the enjoyment of such pleasures?”

(John Davenport: An Apology for Muhammed and the Koran, J. Davy and Sons, London pp. 144-145)

On material delights in general:

Before I come to the question of wide-eyed-maidens let us talk about the other material delights like palaces and ‘lavish eatables’.

Heaven will be a place of eternal and total delight. And as a person is neither merely soul nor just body he will be provided with everything that soothes his spirit or the body.

The skeptical notions about the issue arise from the fact that most people do not understand Islam’s approach to life and humankind. In Islam there is no dichotomy of spiritual and the mundane. And if they can both go hand in hand in this world, why be allergic to the same in the hereafter?

Are material delights opposed to Spirituality?

It seems that to a Christian mind, spirituality cannot be retained in the face of material delights and even needs. This is perhaps the reason why celibacy is so much celebrated as being devoted to God (See Rev. 14: 1-5)

While Jesus (PBUH) walked this Earth he did eat and drink. People of his time saw him eating and drinking and hurled the charge of being a ‘glutton and winebibber’.
Still copy and pasteundecided...cant you reason for yourselfundecided.....if All of God's moves make sense to you, how then are you not equal to Himundecided......the rest of your copy and paste is crap, If you want to probe how King solomon lived his life, open a thread for that.

firstly, I made it clear tha spirits are not uni-gender lile you were implying, also, I said humans would be given all they desire. moreso, having multiple wives in Islam means that y must have the means to sustain them and be just to them as humanly as possible. talking about sexual perversion? cheesy cheesy lets examine songs of solomon;

Let us look at Song of Solomon 8:10 "Dear brothers, I'm a walled-in virgin still, but my breasts are full And when my lover sees me, he knows he'll soon be satisfied."
She is a virgin with full swelling breasts. When her lover meets her, he will be satisfied from those swelling breasts! Obviously, she is referring to licking, sucking and other pornographic things that I can't mention here. Believe me this verse is not talking about them worshiping GOD Almighty together when they meet!! It is clearly and indisputably referring to graphic sex that involves her swelling breasts and other things such as intercourse.

Let us look at Song of Songs 4:5 "Your two breasts are like two fawns, like twin fawns of a gazelle that browse among the lilies."
Let us look at Song of Songs 1:13 "My lover is to me a sachet of myrrh resting between my breasts."
Praising the bed that they had sex on: Let us look at Song of Songs 1:16 "How handsome you are, my lover! Oh, how charming! And our bed is verdant"
Let us look at Song of Songs 1:2-4 "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth-- for your love is more delightful than wine. Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the maidens love you! Take me away with you--let us hurry! Let the king bring me into his chambers. We rejoice and delight in you; we will praise your love (i.e., semen) more than wine. How right they are to adore you!" I don't think this would be appropriate for a kid under 18 to read. Also, I don't think it is appropriate to have such open sexuality in a divine book anyway.
His right arm sexually feeling her body: Let us look at Song of Songs 2:6 "His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me."
Let us look at Song of Songs 3:4 "Scarcely had I passed them when I found the one my heart loves. I held him and would not let him go till I had brought him to my mother's house, to the room of the one who conceived me." So in other words, she was not married to him, and when she found him, she took him back to her bed room to have illegal sex with him? If she were married to him, she wouldn't take him to her "mother's house". She would take him to their house.
Let us look at Song of Songs 3:10 "Its posts he made of silver, its base of gold. Its seat was upholstered with purple, its interior lovingly inlaid by the daughters of Jerusalem." Why does the Bible teach young men to spend all of their time and effort to try to impress all of the girls in their town so they can possibly end in bed with them?

3- Fantasizing about a girl he calls his "sister". Her vagina tastes like wine for him. And they had sex all night long. After he satisfied her really good, she wished if he were her brother (her biological brother nursed by her "mother's breast" as she said) so she doesn't have to take him home secretly:

Note: Even though she may not be his biological sister, but calling her a "sister" in a pornographic and sick situation as shown in details below is not proper, and may suggest that the sick pervert would fantasize about his biological sister if he had one.
Let us look at Song of Songs 4:9 "You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace." Fantasizing about his sister? at least he shows in this verse that he would!.
Let us look at Song of Songs 4:10 "How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice!" Making love to his own sister? "pleasing is your love (makinghuh) than wine"?
Let us look at Song of Songs 4:12 "You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride; you are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain."

Showing off her breasts and vagina to him:

Sleeping with his sister: Let us look at Song of Songs 5:4 "I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My lover is knocking: 'Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.' I have taken off my robe (i.e., she showed his breasts and vagina to him. Underwears and bras didn't exist back then!) must I put it on again? I have washed my feet, must I soil them again? My lover thrust his hand through the latch-opening; my heart began to pound for him." What a disgusting way for someone to talk so pervertly about his sister and/or about her brother like that!!

Also, the bible sanctioned polygamy!

1- A brief look at polygamy in the Old Testament:

Let us look at some of the verses from the Old Testament that allow polygamy:

In Exodus 21:10, a man can marry an infinite amount of women without any limits to how many he can marry.

In 2 Samuel 5:13; 1 Chronicles 3:1-9, 14:3, King David had six wives and numerous concubines.

In 1 Kings 11:3, King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.

In 2 Chronicles 11:21, King Solomon's son Rehoboam had 18 wives and 60 concubines.

In Deuteronomy 21:15 "If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons...."

There are a lot more verses from the Old Testament that allow polygamy, but I think that the above are sufficient enough to prove my point.
You had to go seekfor answers from www.answering-christianity.com/x_rated.htm......just to hide "the best prophet's" sexual pervasion....Solomon was also a prophet rytundecided....typical of mohammedans.

What I was trying to differentiate is that God in Islam is Different from that of Christianity. Christians refer to Jesus(a.s) as God even though he is human (doesn't that flaws your notion of spirituality?) As humans on earth created in pairs(male and female). even when we die it doesn't change chapter 49:13: "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted". Allah did not state that humans would assume a Uni-Gender after death so individual souls still assumes its original gender while on earth.

The translation by Yusuf Ali

And all things have We preserved on record. (29)

"So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." (30)

Verily for the righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the Heart's) desires; (31)

Gardens enclosed, and Grape-vines; (32)

Companions of equal age; (33)

And a Cup full (to the Brim). (34)

Humans whom were fortunate to make heaven would be granted their heart desires(sex inclusive) . So if you do not believe in 'heavenly beings' having sex then it is due to yr believe and that is your own cup of tea.
Lol as much as you try to water down the perversion of one having numerous sexual partners in heaven, The sex-craze just keeps getting more glaring.....According to your reply, souls and spirits have sex undecided, for multiplication or for pleasurehuh Do Angels also have sexundecided...Little wonder the prophet took for himself and endorsed many wives for his followers even on earth. The apple dosent fall far from the tree, does it;-\.........As much as i dont wanna compare Jesus (cos i dont want to derail this thread)...Jesus is God in the flesh(Body)...Let us make man in our image, (soul, spirit,body=1 man)...God the father,God the Son/Word(Body), God the Holy spirit(spirit)= 1 God (three persons).....Your question tilts to how he can or why he should appear in the flesh, that was a divine plan by God to redeem man from Sin. Open a new thread, ill give answers to your question. But before then, answer the questions on sex in "heaven" posed to you.

God is "God" not a "spirit" and the Islamic God is different from what the Christian call God. (Prophet Issa).I challenge any Christian to tell me who is God according to their understanding. when we die(believe it or not) we are questioned and blessed and punished accordingly even if you buried, eaten by wild animals etc. spirits still exists and assume the gender of the deceased. I don't know of your bible preaches a "genderless" spirit but it is not present in the holy qur'an. And on the day of resurrection(at God's appointed time) humans woupd be judged according to his/her deeds. those worthy of heaven would be admitted there, vice versa. and Allah has promised the (fortunate) ones who who gets admitted into paradise what no human have heard of ,seen or their heart has concieved. so y got it wrong from where you mentioned that spirits are genderless. God is a spirit as they also believe, and when one dies the flesh goes to dust, the soul and spirit goes to heaven.....Now the big question is since spirits exists as neither male nor female, do spirits also have sex with each other undecided......many of them get dumbfounded at this point.

Number 5 though....

Still don't get ---- we all have different levels of tolerance and capacity.

Take job's case for instance, I don't a lot of Christian these days can go through what he did and still maintain faith

I think God knows just the capacity and limit of us all, and won't exceed it.

Maybe you should elaborate please
2 Corinthians 1:8,9-- "We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, FAR BEYOND OUR ABILITY TO ENDURE, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. BUT THIS HAPPENED THAT WE MIGHT NOT RELY ON OURSELVES BUT ON GOD, WHO RAISES THE DEAD."

Sometimes, during struggles we ask ourselves “If I am supposed to handle this, then why can’t I handle it?”
The truth is, God never said He wouldn’t give you more than you can handle. There will be times in life when you will feel like you are drowning and there is no one to help you.
The words that are meant for encouragement can often serve to only create discouragement. The phrase "God cant give us more than we can handle" can tempt us to ignore our suffering and pretend it’s not there. It can lead us to believe the lie that we can do it ourselves; that we can handle it. Which raises the question, “If we can handle anything that comes our way, then why do we need God at all?”

We need to realize that sometimes we can’t make it on our own.
So, where did the phrase about God not giving us too much come from? To answer that question, we need to go back 2,000 years to a small church in the city of Corinth. The Apostle Paul wrote them a few letters, and in his first letter, he reminded them that all people are tempted and often choose to do the wrong thing. Paul’s warning is tied to the reality of temptation and sin that meets us everyday. With his warning he also gave a promise. He wrote,
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). This is the verse that is so often misquoted.

With regard to temptation and sin, Paul pointed out that we always have a choice: engage in sin or run from it. The promise is that God will always provide a way for us to run from it.
Let’s be clear: Paul was talking about temptation, not suffering.
With temptation, we have a choice, but with suffering we often don’t have a choice.

The night before Jesus was executed, He cried out in the garden, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death” (Matthew 26:38). Jesus told His Father, “This is too much for me!”
We see this kind of thing in the Psalms, too. The Psalmists ball their fists in rage, and shout at God, “Why have you forsaken me?” (Psalm 22) In their sadness they say, “darkness is my closest friend” (Psalm 88).
What these verses teach us is that it’s OK to feel like we can’t handle it, like we are going to give up. We can cry out, “My soul is overwhelmed to the point of death.” And when we do this, we find God, the one who, in the person of Jesus, suffers with us.

When we become aware that life will give us more than we can handle and come to grips with this, we find a promise: God is faithful to meet us in the mess and in the pain.
And when He does, we learn to recognize our constant need to depend on Him. This is why Peter instructs the Church to cast our fears, worries, suffering and pain on God. He reasons we can do this because God cares for us. When life deals us more than we can handle, we can rest in the reality that God can handle it.

Here is some stuff Christians should stop doing.

1. Telling people “I’ll pray for you” without actually praying for them. Guilty as charged. I can’t think of anybody who hasn’t done this at one time or another. And while most of us don’t actually mean to forget, it’s probably best that we just set aside time on the spot to pray for people. Are we really so busy that we can’t stop and pray for someone’s needs? We need to make sure we are fulfilling our duties as Christians and actually follow through with them. One prayer could be the tipping point to someone coming to know the love of God. Don’t miss the opportunity to speak life into someone because you don’t think you have time.

2. Attending Church on Sunday, but ignoring God’s voice the rest of the week. Ouch! This one stings a little. Many of us get in the habit of making God just another addition to our weekly check-list, but the reality is that our entire lives should revolve around him. God deserves #1 priority in each of our lives, and to treat him any differently would go against the foundations of the Christian faith. Evaluate the way you are spending your time, money and energy. If you want to see a change in your life then you need to begin giving God the place of honor he deserves. Stop treating God like the last kid picked in doge-ball.

3. Praying for God’s provision when we have yet to use what he has already provided. Way too many of us tend to treat God like a personal genie. Prayer was given to us as an open line of communication between us and God, but the harsh reality is that way too many of try to use it like a drive-thru at a fast-food restaurant. You don’t get to pick and choose the way God provides, but you do get the opportunity to trust his plan and have faith in his promises. I can’t begin to explain how many times I’ve ignored God’s provision because it wasn’t wrapped the way I intended it to be. Every time we purposely ignore God’s provision, we are indirectly telling him, “I don’t trust your plan.”

4. Trying to be so relevant that we actually hurt the message of Jesus. There is nothing wrong with trying to be relevant, but we need to understand that there is a BOLD line between being trendy, and then completely disfiguring the message of Jesus. We can’t expect to bring any change to the world when we don’t look any different from it. I’m a firm believer that Jesus came to reclaim culture and not abolish it, but this doesn’t mean we need to water down His message so that it’s easier to swallow.

5. Telling people that “God will never give you anything you can’t handle.” Why should we stop saying this? Because it’s a lie. … We’ve completely twisted 1 Corinthians 10:13 , as this verse is pointing toward temptation, and even then it states God will be there if things get too tough. The reality is that God just might give us things we can’t handle so that we will gaze toward him for the extra help. Mind blowing right? Realize that not everything is going to go the way you plan, think or hope. Sometimes stuff is going to hit the fan, and in order for you to get through it, you are going to NEED to rely on God’s comfort, peace and understanding. We weren’t meant to do life alone.
Thanks for reading God bless you.

Allah says there is no God but him alone. According him human beings are his slaves who are to submit to his will at all times. He isn't in any loving relationship like your God. He doesn't have to come down and sacrifice himself to himself to show humans he loves them. He is the master of all and there is non like him according to him. Allah doesn't need to offer any salvation by killing himself as a sacrifice to himself. All he needs to do is say it and it will be done.
Ok, Love says it all, i think i prefer a God that loves me, not one that says i must go to hell first before heaven or that i will get to heaven with the flesh thereby having numerous concubines.....
