I have come to give God all the praise and encourage someone here who's reading.
We need to just believe, have patience and pray that all will end in praise.
I put in my application on 15th March, 2021. Did my biometrics on 19th March, 2021.
I wasn't hearing from them, no update ..nothing. I even had to defer my program because of the delay. I was sending emails and webforms everytime. The responses I was getting were APPLICATION STILL UNDER REVIEW. To God be the glory, I just received my PPR today, infact this morning. It will surely end in praise for all of US

I just want to share my application timeline to give someone hope.

Application Date: 15th March, 2021
Biometric request: 16th March,2021
Biometric done: 19th March,2021
Medical request: 15th July,2021
Medical passed: 23rd July, 2021
BVL: 7th August, 2021
PPR: 9th August, 2021

Our praise reports is coming.
Thank you.

Congrats go and prosper in CA!
At least their is a glimpse of hope for PPR hopefuls as this shows IRCC is working.

Hello Fam,

To those interested in the "2 SOP & 1 LOE" free writing by me, I will be acknowledging "3 monikers" with the highest mentions here on Nairaland (quoting this post) when next I am online to confirm the 3 lucky monikers.

n.b. there is a criterion after selection to meet. Read back through some of my previous posts on the thread to see the post.

One love everyone!

Either SOP/LOE will do, i am for re-application. I hope to be selected this time around, @pretti_richkid

Congratulations to all PPR holders, and those of us waiting!

Good morning everyone, I received my gcms note this morning. I would appreciate it if anyone points me to any post that explains what to look out for. Eligibility is blank, the primary office is Nairobi (how can I send them an email).
What caught my attention the most is how many times my file has been transferred (Accra, Lagos, Beijing, Nairobi, London, Ho Chi Minh. Also under notes, no words just note 1 to 4 detailing school info.

I will appreciate any help PLEASE.
Info sharing says in progress
3rd page that says application assignment shows a due date of June 13th
May 5 applicant.

Thanks

It simply means your eligibility has not started, However your application has passed the standard processing time as stated on IRCC website see the emails to their different offices you can send a reminder email twice a week.

Good morning everyone.

So I have admission with Durham College for September 2021 and I am wondering if it is too late to apply for a study visa now.

Any and all advices would be highly appreciated.

Its very late to apply for fall 2021 session. My advice goes thus contact your DLI for defferal of your admission to Winter 2021 while you begin to gather your docs for your Visa application.

It will end with praise.

I am so unhappy right now as I have to go to the US because Canada hasn't issued a decision on my permit since june 25th.

Please is it possible for them to stamp my visa in the US or I need to send it to Nig or come to Nig again?

You should update the Canadian Embassy about your travel to the USA Via webform. Once you get PPR from your pending application at the Canadian embassy yoi can get your passport stamped in the US. Be prepared for the US VFS charge (transmission fee).

It will end with praise.

Hello Nairaland grin grin

I do not know how to begin this post, but na God go help me.

First, I want to say a big Thank You to Vicky. I dunno your moniker but you know yourself. Thank You for helping reach out to the family here on my behalf. I really appreciate you for that!

Next I'll like to appreciate the entire Nairaland family for the show of love. Omohh e no easy. My heart is full of so much gratitude to every single one of you.

No need to make this a long post abeg undecided
Ending of April no funny for me atall
Robbed on April 25
Application denied on April 27.
It was even more painful as I had to view it on my PC screen. The thing just bold for my face. cry

Hehe
Regardless, I give all the glory to God. It was a really long wait, and it was worth every single second of it.
Thank You to everyone here who in one way or the other contributed to my application.

Here's my Timeline.

Got admitted to Uom to study International Business in October, 2020

Application Submitted - Dec 16
Biometrics completed - Dec 22
NSE Request Letter - Dec 24
Upfront Medicals. - March 24
Medicals Updated. - April 12
Letter of Refusal. - April 27

My application was processed via the normal route. I was denied based on Personal Assets blah blah, cos I know I finished them with my SOP godi. grin

I'm back now and willing to help as many as I can on this journey or lemme just say application grin
I'm willing to go through as many SOPs as I can.
I'm ready to answer as many questions as possible.
Let's all get involved in any little way we can.
For Charles Dickens says, "No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another"

My advice to everyone who's yet to apply or waiting for a decision?
Please do not be scared. I know it sounds impossible but on the long run you'll discover your fear and worry doesn't change anything.
If your application was denied, don't give up too. Keep refiring until you hit your target.

I wish everyone awaiting PPR good news in the shortest possible time.

Believe me when I say this..

It will end in Praises!

Yes BOSS, good to have you back here i missed you much so sorry about the refusal. I am sending you a mail right now lets get back to whatsapp.

Landing Gist

Hello All, It would be a disservice if I did not update the thread on my landing gist so here it is:

Some Background Information
On June 4th, 2021, my original travel date, I was prevented from boarding at the airport due to the Border Official, who the counter officials sent my documents via WhatsApp, declaring that June was too early a date for travel despite my Enrollment Letter showing September 2021 (this was before it being known that the new mandate was for students to arrive within Four (4) weeks of your start date). This was extremely disappointing as I had already made the GAA Hotel Booking along with the Covid Test I had done the previous day.
To circumvent this, I enrolled for my Thesis which I had planned to do when I settle in after arrival in Canada (I had already completed a full year of coursework while in Nigeria). Thesis Registration took about three weeks to process (as most of the professors were in the field for research work) and by the time it was ready, Canada had announced the exemption from Quarantine for those who are fully vaccinated (which I was). I rescheduled my flight and hotel booking for July 7th and 8th and waited till the travel date.

Trip
I arrived at the airport quite early and was asked for my Enrollment Letter (now showing July 5th as the start date), Covid Test Result, ArriveCAN receipt, and my Vaccination Card showing my full vaccination status at the counter. It took an hour for the Border Official to respond to their WhatsApp message and give clearance for me to travel. My flight was an Ethiopian Airlines flight that departed Lagos at 1:40 PM. I was really impressed with the food served on the plane and the access to movies, music and TV shows available on the console in front of me. The book I intended to read was left unread as I switched between watching movies and listening to some newly discovered music.

We landed in Addis Ababa at night (beautiful airport) and I was only asked for my Covid Test Result and hotel booking (if I had). We stayed about two hours or so there before changing aircraft and heading to Dublin for a one-hour refuelling stop. We were given two forms to fill on the plane - a declaration card and one containing contact information to be filled.

We landed in Toronto by 7:30 AM on July 8th and we were separated by vaccination status at immigration (Fully Vaccinated, Half Vaccination and No Vaccination). I was directed to a computer system where I filled another declaration form and was given a printout. The next stop was the border officials who requested for the printout, my Passport, ArriveCAN Receipt and Covid Test results. Upon going through them, he declared me fully exempt from hotel quarantine, the 11 days quarantine and Day 8 testing and placed a green sticker stamp on my passport. The next queue I was directed to was the one for issuing our Study Permits. We stayed on that for over an hour as there were lots of people who had landed that same morning so lots of people to process. Finally, I got to the top of the line and was asked by the Border Official for my Passport, Admission Letter and Tuition Receipt, he asked if I had started classes online which I answered yes to, he asked me to log in to my school account to verify that I had completed classes and to corroborate my answer. When he was satisfied, he issued my study permit and informed me about the 20 hours limit for working and restated my full exemption from any quarantine. I did the arrival covid test and wasn't given the home test kit for Day 8 testing due to my exemption status.

I stayed at the airport for a bit while waiting for my hotel's shuttle bus. On getting to the hotel, I informed them about my exemption status and I filled a form for refund purposes (I had booked the more expensive GAA Rate a month ago when I had originally intended to travel) while they confirm my status with Public Health Canada. I really enjoyed the food at the hotel and the room was really lovely. I had seen some terrible reviews of Crowne Plaza just before my trip but I had no issues while there for 3 days. I am currently at a friend's place while waiting for my flight to Winnipeg in Manitoba on Friday (my school is Brandon University).

Canada so far has been lovely and quite interesting to observe (the sun doesn't set in Toronto until close to 10 PM and by 5 AM it's up again). I wish everyone awaiting their PPR the best of luck and the assurance that God will perfect what He has started. I pray God blesses the Gurus (Frank and Lekibobo just to name a few) and everyone who contributes their quota in providing help and information on this great thread. Have a great day all and may the rain of PPR continue. Amen!

Wow!!! Thank you for the gist, May the land of CANADA favour you.

Hello Everyone, i submitted my study permit application together with my family- me, husband and 2 kids- 3years and 1 year respectively on February 26th, 2021,To the glory of God despite all fears, it was approved by June 10th, 2021 but my dependents application is still yet to be finalized. is there a possibility that only mine will be approved despite indicating my intention to go with my family in my LOE?

@frankrobbn @justwise @Lekiboboe and all gurus in the house, from your experience with family applications applying together, what are the chances of approving my family's application and so far i have sent emails, raised webforms and requested GCMS notes but still no update yet. The silence is scary as i thought PPR will come together. Have you seen cases where it takes so much time apart between principal applicant and family members?

Also the written authorization stated in the IRCC website, please can it apply in this case? can i request it even though there is an ongoing/pending application.

Congrats on your PPR, as for your dependents i think you need to write IRCC for the authorization to travel for the processing of their application to be priotize and processed accordingly.
It will end with praise.
