Politics / El-rufai Becomes Political Orphan In Kaduna As APC Backs Probe Of Ex-governor by Wisdomkosi(m): 7:25am On Apr 18
The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have thrown their weight behind the move by the state’s House of Assembly to probe the financial activities, particularly loans obtained by the administration of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Kaduna APC Publicity Secretary Salisu Wusono welcomed the probe, describing it as a positive step towards clarifying the financial situation inherited by the incumbent government.

Wusono emphasized the party’s commitment to the rule of law and the welfare of Kaduna State residents, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability in governance.

“Despite the huge debt burden of $587m, N85bn, and 115 Contractual Liabilities sadly inherited from the previous administration, we remain resolute in steering Kaduna State towards progress and sustainable development.

“We have conducted a thorough assessment of our situation and are sharpening our focus accordingly,” he told Punch.

Similarly, the Kaduna State chapter of the NLC voiced support for the investigation, urging the Assembly to delve into unpaid severance packages for over 32,000 workers sacked during El-Rufai’s tenure.

NLC Chairman Ayuba Suleiman underscored the importance of addressing workers’ welfare and adherence to labour laws, advocating for a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the mass layoffs.

During a special session presided over by Speaker Alhaji Yusuf Liman, the Assembly unanimously resolved to establish a fact-finding committee to investigate the loans and financial transactions of the past administration.

The motion, moved by Yusuf Mugu, representing the Kaura constituency, highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in public finance management

Politics / PDP NEC Meeting: Tensions Rise Within Wike’s Camp As Makinde Dumps G-5 Governors by Wisdomkosi(m): 9:52am On Apr 16
Reports indicate that the camp led by the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is encountering challenges in maintaining unity as the crucial National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party draws nearer.

Sources suggest that a prominent member of the G-5 faction, also a serving governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has decided to distance himself from the group.

The governor, who has experienced strained relations with the faction lately, is reportedly aligning with voices advocating for a change in the party’s status quo.

While the Wike-led camp is rooting for Ambassador Illiya Damagum to retain his seat as the PDP national chairman, the other camp, led by former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate in the 2019 and 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar are pushing for the emergence of Senator Gabriel Suswam.

The NEC meeting, scheduled for this Thursday, will be preceded by other strategic meetings starting today, including the PDP governors’ forum meeting, the PDP Caucus and the Board of Trustees (BoT).

Ahead of the Edo governorship election, former governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has assured President Bola Tinubu that the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is “united and good to go.”

Oshiomhole disclosed this to journalists yesterday after paying Sallah homage to Tinubu in Lagos.

Oshiomhole, who also represents Edo North in the Senate, expressed confidence in the chances of the APC winning the upcoming Edo State governorship election.

“We are due for elections. We are happy, and we are perfecting all the arrangements to ensure that this coming election we will win because our house is united; we sorted out all the issues arising from primaries 100 per cent.

“Our opponents have one crisis or the other; even the Labour Party has their crisis, so at least APC is not in any form of crisis.

“We are all waiting for INEC on April 24 to get started. So, I briefed him on all of that. We are happy, and he is there for us as a father, but we are not going to sleep believing the father will do it for us because he is not going to come to Edo to vote,” Oshiomhole said.

The former APC national chairman also said the party will have to do the “voting” and “mobilisation” to capture the “campaign message that captures the imagination and Edo people can relate to.”

Politics / “Those Disrespecting Me Have Dug Their Pit and will fall inside" - Fubara by Wisdomkosi(m): 7:04pm On Apr 11
Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has sounded a note of warning to the local government chairmen in the State, declaring that those disrespecting him as governor of the state have already dug their pit and will soon fall into it.

Fubara made the declaration on Thursday while speaking at the commissioning of Comprehensive Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Ndoni, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of the state, which was built and donated to the state government by former Governor Peter Odili.

The governor specifically berated some local government chairmen in the state for refusing to participate in state government activities because their loyalty lies elsewhere.

He said: “I am surprised that I saw the local government chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni here. I am very surprised because I know that for a very long time, any event that has to do with the state government, all the local government chairmen, as it were, do not participate. I hope when he leaves leave here, they are not going to sack him.

“I know you are not loyal to me. Are they not going to sack you? Or when you leave here, you will grant a press interview that it was not you. That it was your shadow.

“Let me say it here; every one of you who thinks he is disrespecting me, you have already dug your pit, you will fall inside it. Siminalayi Fubara, like a river, will flow in a direction that there is no resistance. One way or the other, we will get to our destination and we will go with our people.

“They say we are clueless. If providing quality education to our people is being clueless, I agree with them; I accept it. They say we are clueless. If providing quality healthcare services to our dear people, is being clueless, then we agree with that. It is the truth; they say we are clueless.

“If targeting critical projects, like this road we have awarded, the Elele-Egbeda-Omoku road; if they say is being clueless, then, we agree. But, we will no go and do road to our farm because we want to please somebody politically.

“We will do those things that our people want and will benefit from. If that one means being clueless, then, we are clueless. In fact, I will change my name to ‘clueless’.”

The former governor of Anambra state expressed shock over the death of the 39-year-old actor in a post on his X page.

His words: ”Our entertainment industry, and indeed our dear nation, is once again thrown into mourning, by the death of this young talented actor.

Politics / We Will Not Allow You Walk Alone – APC Tells Impeached Deputy Gov, Shaibu by Wisdomkosi(m): 10:35am On Apr 11
The Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo, Emperor Jaret Tenebe, has assured the impeached deputy governor of the state, Philip Shaibu, that he would not be abandoned.

He spoke yesterday when he paid Shiabu a solidarity visit in his Abuja residence, describing his impeachment as a sham and urged the former deputy governor to use all legal means to upturn it.

Tenebe told Shaibu: “I am here to pay you this solidarity visit because I still regard you as the deputy governor of Edo State because that sham they did in the Edo State House of Assembly is a disgrace to the governor and it is an aberration to our democracy which I know the court will not allow to stand.

“You are somebody who stood out. The price you paid is the price of loyalty. You were loyal even to the detriment of the people you started with. You paid that price.

“We just celebrated Easter, and we know the price Jesus Christ paid. He died for our sins, and what happened is a replica of what Jesus Christ did for humanity.

“Today, they have removed you as the deputy governor but we still regard you as the deputy governor. It is the price that you have paid to ensure that Obaseki and his semblance are rooted out of Edo State. I can tell you that we will not allow you to walk alone. We are with you in spirit.

“You are a strong man, and I am here as the chairman of APC in Edo State, and I am also an Uzairue indigene where we both come from. We should be strong. I implore you to continue to pursue this matter in court, and we will be with you all through, and God is your strength.

“When one door is closed, many more are opened, and many are opened for you from today. That is what the detractors don’t know. Be strong, and we will match on together.”

The visit comes barely 24 hours after some APC faithful in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State protested against the alleged planned return of Shaibu to the party.

Celebrities / Kwankwaso Preparing Grounds For His Son To Be Kano Governor In 2031” by Wisdomkosi(m): 8:22am On Apr 11
“Kwankwaso preparing grounds for his son to be Kano governor in 2031” – Political scholar

A political scholar in Kano has alleged that the former governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, wants to install his son as the next governor in 2031.

The scholar who spoke anonymously to Daily Sun said Kwankwaso is already building his political dynasty.

Kwankwaso’s son, Mustapha, was recently appointed as a commissioner by Governor Abba Yusuf.

His words: “We must not ignore the fact that this is the early days in an attempt to control power by a single family or associates of the same political group.

“It is an open secret that Kwankwaso is very influential in the present administration. He has been pivotal to its conception, electoral victory, appointments, policy selection and policy implementation.

“It is also incontestable that Kwankwaso is closely related to the state governor by marriage. The governor is his in-law. The political permutation is that Mustapha will be nursed in the act of governance and will come of age by 2031. By this time, he will be 47.

“With the Kwankwaso that we know, chances are high that he will ensure that Mustapha, his son, succeeds the present arrangement or becomes the running mate to the governorship candidate of the party in the general elections.

“Should that happen, it means that the governance of the state would have resided within the same clan or family for about 16 years or more, and will remain there for a longer time, depending on how Mustapha plays his cards in the years to come.

“But, like I said, these are all potential possibilities. They are not yet realities. The future, especially in politics, is often bounded by uncertainties. Anything can still happen to change these calculations.”

Born on March 24, 1984, in Kwankwaso village in Madobi Local Government Area of the state, where he completed his primary and secondary school education, Mustapha completed his post-secondary education at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus.

Politics / Suspended Minister Betta Edu Threatens BBC With $50 Million Defamation Lawsuit by Wisdomkosi(m): 3:46pm On Apr 10
Betta Edu, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has issued a stern warning to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), threatening legal action for alleged defamation.

In a letter signed by her counsel, Chikaosolu Ojukwu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Edu demanded a whopping $50 million in compensation from the renowned media organization.

The letter, directed to both BBC’s Abuja and London offices, accuses the BBC of disseminating false information regarding an ongoing Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigation, alleging that N30 billion was recovered from the suspended minister.

According to the lawyer, the BBC’s publication has inflicted immeasurable reputational damage, psychological trauma, and anguish upon Edu.

The letter criticizes the BBC for its article, asserting that it implies guilt on Edu’s part without affording her the presumption of innocence.

Furthermore, the letter lambasts the BBC for breaching journalistic fairness and due process by failing to provide Edu with an opportunity to respond to the allegations before publishing the article.

“For the avoidance of doubt, our client has neither been indicted nor found culpable of any act of financial impropriety in relation to her stewardship of the Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Ministry in Nigeria.

“It is also pertinent to emphasize that neither N30 billion nor any amount whatsoever has been traced to or recovered from our client’s bank accounts nor has any proceeds of crime been traced or recovered from her to warrant the scurrilous article under reference.

“Suffice it to say that in the aftermath of the publication of this scandalous article (which the BBC caused to be disseminated to millions of persons across the globe), our client has been inundated by calls and messages from friends, associates expressing their shock and consternation.

“Our client has suffered immeasurable reputational damage, psychological trauma and anguish as a direct consequence of the publication and dissemination of the article,” parts of the letter read.

Politics / More Confusion In PDP Chairmanship Race As Stakeholders Demand For Position by Wisdomkosi(m): 10:36am On Apr 10
More confusion in PDP chairmanship race as Nasarawa stakeholders demand for position

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa have kick-started their advocacy for the national chairmanship position of the party to be moved to the state.

In a statement released by Mustapha Ibrahim Umaisha and shared with reporters on Tuesday, the stakeholders said Nasarawa’s representation at the national level is long overdue.

They highlighted the absence of the state’s leadership in the upper echelons of the PDP as untenable, saying:

“In the spirit of inclusivity, it is time for Nasarawa to take a prominent role in the leadership of the PDP, a position we have been conspicuously absent from.”

The group lamented the situation preceding the 2023 election when Nasarawa’s sole advisory position within the party, held by elder statesman Sen. Walid Jibrin as BOT Chairman, was relinquished amidst internal discord.

They argued that Nasarawa’s selflessness in that instance deserves recognition from party members nationwide.

“We have witnessed neighboring states like Benue, Kwara, Kogi, and Plateau enjoying the chairmanship position, while positions zoned to the North Central have consistently been occupied by our counterparts in other states.

It is time for Nasarawa to be duly acknowledged. It is crucial to acknowledge Nasarawa’s steadfastness in both national and state politics,”
the group stated.

The stakeholders argued that Nasarawa presents highly qualified and distinguished individuals as potential candidates for the national chairmanship position, particularly Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu, the party’s last gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 governorship poll.

“David Ombugadu embodies the essence of effective leadership, commanding admiration and respect both locally and nationally,” the group stated.

Engr KB Mohammed from Keffi echoed the sentiments, emphasizing that anything short of considering Nasarawa for a leadership position at the national level would be unjust.

“As the call for representation grows louder, all eyes are on the PDP caucus to heed the call for inclusivity and fairness within the party’s ranks, and Ombugadu is the answer,” he added.

I Haven't Received Any Invitation From Ebonyi Governor, Nwifuru - Author Of Igbo Fiziksi | #IgbereTV

By Wisdom Nwedene

A Nigerian writer and the author of first Igbo Fiziksi, Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro has revealed that he is yet to receive any invitation from Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru.

Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro who hails from Ebonyi State has received accolades from Nigerians and beyond for being the first person in Nigeria to translate Physics textbook to one of the local languages, (Igbo).

Many Nigerians have been agitating that Ebonyi State Governor, Nwifuru should extend a hand of recognition to him in order to encourage and boost the educational sector in the State.

A journalist in Ebonyi State, Wisdom Nwedene had demanded Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro should be invited by the Governor.

He said, "I like how Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu keeps identifying with the Youth and equally encouraging them to do more. He gifted the lady who drove from London - Lagos a brand new car and a house. He equally welcomed a young Nigerian man, Coach Dreh who swum across 11.8 kilometres-long water of the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, to raise awareness on mental health."

"What about our own from Ebonyi State, Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro II who wrote the first Fiziksi textbook? Any recognition yet? How can we boost the confidence of the youth in education if we don't appreciate a young man who went extra mile to translate the Physics Textbook to Igbo Language?."

"Ebonyi shouldn't only be good in throwing Birthday parties."

"We need to do more!."

Another writer from Ebonyi State, Friday Mbam also demanded that Maazi should be recognised by the Government.

According to him, "While the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, is trying to put back the state on the map, there's one aspect that seems to have been forgotten. In a state like Lagos, if a youth breaks ground in a particular area, the Governor quickly recognizes the individual. That way, more youths are encouraged to break more ground in other walks of life."

"A month or two ago, a young Ebonyian , Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro, set a new record by writing a physics textbook in Igbo Language. That is a huge achievement, one that should have attracted the attention of our amiable Governor, but to this day, nothing has been said about the young man's achievement, apart from the social media hyping that accompanied it."

"If young Ebonyians are not encouraged or recognized each time they achieve a feat, others may see no need to recognize us. Giving a political position is not a way of encouraging young people to realise their full potential. Those who are close to the corridors of power in Ebonyi State should, perhaps, draw our Governor's attention to that."

Shortly after the post was made, the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mr Leo Oketa said Maazi has been invited by the Governor, a claim which the author has denounced.

According to Leo Oketa," The Governor has taken notice of this beautiful development and has sent for him."

When contacted, Maazi Ogbonnaya Okoro said the Ebonyi State has not invited him.

"That's not true, nobody sent any invitation," Maazi said.

“Please Let Our Children See Their Father ” – Wife Of Detained Binance Employee Begs Tinubu | #Politicsnigeria

Yuki Gambaryan, the wife of Tigran Gambaryan, an employee of the Cryptocurrency firm Binance, detained in Nigeria, has made a heartfelt plea for his release.

In an open letter addressed to President Bola Tinubu, Yuki described Tigran as an exceptional father, loving husband, and respected professional.

She also stated that he has genuine respect for Nigeria and its people.

Tigran was detained in Nigeria amidst the government’s scrutiny of his employer’s operations.

However, Yuki said Tigran is merely an employee and does not have authority over the company’s decisions or policies.

In her plea, Yuki appealed to Nigerian authorities for compassion and mercy, urging them to allow Tigran to reunite with his family.

She emphasized the devastating effect of his detention on their lives and expressed hope for his swift release.

Her words: “Tigran and I have two young children. This is the longest their Dad has ever been away from them, and they don’t understand why he hasn’t come home to them.

“They ask me every day when he will be coming home, and still, I cannot give them an answer. This week is going to be especially difficult as it is our youngest’s 5th birthday on Friday. I never imagined Tigran would not be here with us to celebrate it.

“Meanwhile, his ageing mother spends her days in tears, praying for the safe return of her only son. She raised Tigran almost all on her own. He is her everything; the thought of him being in a country so far away from her and in these circumstances is beyond devastating to her.

“A small part of me chips away every day without Tigran by my side. He is the love of my life, and I cannot imagine a life without him.

“I plead with you from the depths of my heart to release Tigran. Please let our children see their father. Your act of mercy would be eternally appreciated.”

A passenger, who witnessed the incident, said when the train left Kaduna, there was no sign that the deceased was unwell.

The witness said the late officer later complained of chest pain and sought help before he died.

“A police officer, who was one of the escorts on a Abuja-Kaduna train just died,” the passenger said.

“He left home in good health. But later during the journey, he complained of chest pain and asked his colleague to get him some glucose and water.

“There was no emergency medical care on the train. Before a doctor, who was also a passenger, could come, the officer was already dead,” the passenger added.

The remains of the policeman was moved to a side of the train, while his face was covered.

The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) is yet to speak on the incident.

Politics / Impeachment: How Shuaibu Leaked Govt Secrets – Edo Assembly by Wisdomkosi(m): 6:18am On Apr 04
Edo State House of Assembly has formally accused Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu of committing impeachable offences, including the leakage of confidential government information and perjury. These allegations were presented during the inaugural session of a seven-member panel established to investigate Shaibu’s actions.

This panel, led by retired Justice S.A. Omonuwa, was constituted by the Edo State Chief Judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, following the Assembly’s initiation of impeachment proceedings on March 5. The proceedings stem from a petition accusing the Deputy Governor of serious breaches, including leaking state secrets and committing perjury.

The rift between Shaibu and Governor Godwin Obaseki, which has been growing since Shaibu announced his intentions to run in the upcoming Edo governorship race, is believed to be at the heart of the impeachment move.

Joe Ohaifa, the Deputy Clerk of the Assembly, detailed the accusations against Shaibu, particularly focusing on his affidavit in support of a lawsuit in Abuja, where he allegedly disclosed details from the State Executive Council meetings, in violation of the Oath of Secrecy as outlined in Schedule 7 of the 1999 Constitution.

The panel adjourned until Thursday, allowing Shaibu the opportunity to present his defense.

In a preceding development, Shaibu’s legal counsel, Prof. Oladoyin Awoyale (SAN), exited the hearing after the panel dismissed his request to suspend the proceedings until the conclusion of a related Federal High Court case in Abuja, which is scheduled for April 8. This case seeks an interlocutory injunction to stop the impeachment process.

Awoyale argued that the constitutional provision cited by the Deputy Clerk, Section 188 (10) of the 1999 Constitution, which ostensibly bars court intervention in impeachment processes, should not preclude the court’s order. However, the panel, siding with Ohaifa, ruled to proceed with the impeachment investigation.

Following the panel’s decision, Awoyale announced that his client would not participate further in the investigation, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the upcoming court session.

Despite his departure, Awoyale clarified that this did not imply a waiver of Shaibu’s right to defense but underscored the necessity of respecting the judicial process set for early April.

Politics / $350m, N85 Billion Loan: Gov. Uba Sani Told To Go After El-rufai As Rift Deepens by Wisdomkosi(m): 10:00am On Apr 03
A Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has called for an investigation into the administration of ex-Governor Nasir El-Rufai, citing concerns over the state’s significant debt accumulation. He made the plea through a post on his verified X social media handle on Monday.

Sani’s comment is coming shortly after Gov. Uba Sani revealed that Kaduna state was under Heavy Debt.

During a Town Hall meeting in Kaduna over the weekend, Governor Uba disclosed the state’s encumbrance of $587 million in debt, N85 billion, and 115 contractual obligations left by the El-Rufai administration. He noted that the debt severely hampers the government’s ability to fulfill its obligations, including paying workers’ salaries.

Senator Shehu Sani futher emphasized the necessity of an independent inquiry to unravel the specifics of the financial dealings under El-Rufai’s tenure.

He proposed the formation of a probe panel led by a neutral professional accountant or auditor. This panel would be tasked with summoning former government officials and their associated contractors to account for the financial mismanagement and alleged misappropriation of funds, including a scrutinized $350 million loan.

“The looting of Kaduna State cannot be remedied by revelations alone but by courageously constituting a probe panel,” Sani asserted, indicating that mere exposure of financial irregularities is insufficient without a concerted effort to bring the responsible parties to book.

Politics / Re: One Year After, "36 Billion Naira" Ebonyi Airport Yet To Generate Any Revenue(px by Wisdomkosi(m): 3:04pm On Apr 02
kettykin:
The governor needs consulting to help them put this beautiful airport into very good use exporting food products to Europe and America. Ebonyi is an agricultural hub and has a beautiful airport, but lacks the entrepreneurial mindset and business acumen to make the airport a successful commerce business.

Alternatively, Abia state should leade the airport to achieve their economic empire chase.

I don't think the Governor is thinking in that direction.
Politics / Fubara And I Are in PDP but In Different Political Camps – Wike by Wisdomkosi(m): 2:06pm On Apr 02
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has denied influencing the Rivers State House of Assembly in its ongoing political battle against the State Governor, Sim Fubara.

But he also said he and Fubara are now in different political camps even though they both still belong to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Wike who was speaking on Tuesday in a live media chat held in Abuja, said, he was focused on the assignment given to him by President Bola Tinubu and remain unbothered about the conflict between Fubara and the state lawmakers.

He said: “You know I have decided not to bother myself about politics but on the assignment President Bola Tinubu gave to me. I didn’t go home for Easter. Why do you people think I have a hold on the assembly?

But Wike said the reason Fubara’s problem lingered with the State House of Assembly was that he did not keep to the agreements he had with them when Tinubu intervened to resolve their differences.

He said all Fubara had to do was to “comply with the law, comply with the agreement you made with them, with the president.”

He wondered why Fubara refused to re-present the 2024 budget after the court had invalidated an earlier budget he presented.

He asked rhetorically: “What is it in the budget that you don’t want to present?”

Wike also said he would not intervene in the crisis since Fubara did not come to him to request his assistance.

Wike further hinted that some persons within the state who were seen as elder statesmen actually lacked integrity. He said they were the ones now close to the Rivers State Governor.

“Rotimi Amaechi and (Celestine) Omehia are cousins. It was Amaechi who removed his (Omehia’s) picture. When I became a governor, I put his picture there. But all of them teamed up to support Atiku. Of course, what happened? They couldn’t give Atiku 10 percent votes (in Rivers). We flogged them mercilessly.

“They are the same people who said this governor (Fubara) was a neophyte. They wrote a petition when this governor was to collect his certificate. They told Iyorcha Ayu that he was being looked for by the EFCC.”

Wike said those people did not support Fubara initially but started frolicking with him. He said they should also also take up the responsibility to resolve the conflict between Fubara and the House of Assembly.

The FCT minister said he would not abandon his political base in Rivers just because he had a job to do in Abuja. He said: “Am I from where? Am I from Abuja? I should not oil my political machinery?”

Indeed wisdom kosi.

A colossal waste. Today, where are the paid agents defending the waste when it was just commissioned?

It's quite sad seeing this project wasting. I feel pity for Ebonyi State. Nothing is working currently

One Year After Being Commissioned, Over "36 Billion Naira" Ebonyi International Airport Yet To Start Operation (Photos)

By Wisdom Nwedene

One year after the commissioning of the Ebonyi International airport, Local airlines have boycotted the airport due to its defective runway.

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi had mapped out 13.7 Billion Naira to repair the airport which reportedly gulped 36 Billion Naira, barely six months after his predecessor, David Umahi commissioned the Airport.

Recall that in April 2023, the Ebonyi airport was launched with two inaugural flights of Air Peace aircraft touching down on the runway of the airport.

The epoch-making event was well attended by top federal and state government officials as well as dignitaries across the country.

However, a few months after the inauguration, reports had it that the Ebonyi airport runaway had developed problems.

The airport which has gulped over 40 Billion Naira of the state resources is yet to yield any revenue into the coffers of the state government which needs revenue to pursue its growth and development agenda.

Ebonyi State International Airport is an airport located in Onueke, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Nigeria, along the Abakaliki-Afikpo Expressway.

The airport is meant to service Ebonyi, Abia and Benue states.
