DISAPPOINTMENT AT MANDELA'S FUNERAL SERVICE? Where you satisfied after watching Nelson Mandela's memorial service? Wasn't It short of expectations because of things left out by the world leaders that attended? To start with there was nothing in the program to discuss the size of his grave. They suppose to have discussed it to agree on a site large enough to accommodate him and all his wealth. Except he is not a true African leader. If you are an African leader and you don't spend all your tenor stealing money and amassing them in form of assets in key cities in the world at the expense of your own people, then you are a disappointment. My fear is that they may burry him in a normal six-feet grave like any other person without making provision for his houses in Dubai, London, Beverly Hills, Zurich, Montreal, Abuja, Timbuktu and Cayman Islands. Except somebody is telling me that he has none in which case I would personally refer his case to a court presided over by any of our ex- Head of State or state governor except Gowon and Late Muritala. There was no mention of his accounts in Swiss Bank, New York, London, Paris, Tokyo or Beijing where the stolen funds are kept. Again this may mean he had none. How could a man like this had been allowed such a position in an African country? He may spoil things for the rest of them. How could he not have stolen billions and store away for use when he dies like Abacha, Idi Amin, Charles Taylor et al who are enjoying their billions now in hell or in prison. Maybe he is not aware of how expensive things are in hell or maybe he has no plan to be there but how can one be sure. You plan ahead, in case. Did I hear them say he served as President for only one term? How unwise; with his popularity he would have completed his constitutional two terms and amended the constitution to remain life president and transfer power to his children and other relations when he dies. How dare he spoiled the stay-on syndrome? Couldn't he have learnt from Mugabe or our dear OBJ? How comes Mandela did none of these things yet attracted the best leaders in the world to his funeral? |

MANDELA'S SHOE NO NIGERIAN POLITICIAN CAN WEAR By Comr. AHMAN Victory (CONVENER KOGI FOCUS GROUP/P.R.O NAPSS Kogi Wing) Nigeria was d first A.U and U.N. Member that declared days of national mourning for the late Madiba, the african hero and the role model to many youths. But my concern is this, do these So called person who have their bed in the corridors of power really know what MANDELA did to earn that respect , and if they do, how many of them who call the late Madiba there hero can emulate his good deeds to liberate Nigerians, and whole heartedly build a nigeria were ethnicity and religion won't be a prerequisite for political decision. THE SHOE, LACE, AND SOCKS THAT LATE MADIBA LEFT BEHIND : • Nelson Mandela was a master of forgiveness. • South Africa’s first black president spent nearly a third of his life as a prisoner of apartheid, yet he sought to win over its defeated guardians in a relatively peaceful transition of power that inspired the world. • As head of state, the former boxer, lawyer and inmate lunched with the prosecutor who argued successfully for his incarceration. • He sang the apartheid-era Afrikaans anthem at his inauguration. • Traveled hundreds of miles to have tea with the widow of the prime minister in power at the time he was sent to prison. • LATE MANDELA also had the opportunity to become a president for life but he left office after his first term of four years. It was this generosity of spirit that made Mr. Mandela, who died Thursday at the age of 95, a global symbol of sacrifice and reconciliation in a world often jarred by conflict and division. Now which Nigerian leader can be generous, honest, selfless, and hold believes that they are better people than him self to become the president of the country. As for my "Ogas @ d Top" all they are busy doing is to advocate for a single tenure of seven years so they have enough time to for steal from the PetroNaira and practice impurities (their best profession ). Nigeria leaders are celebrating a man who gave the younger generation a chance to make their input in governance by serving a single term when he had the privileges to become a president for life and they themselves have erase the popular saying "children are the leaders of tomorrow" as they are of the school of thought that believes in ELITE-RECYCLING . I know that they is no Nigeria leader Nigerian that be celebrated like Nelson Mandela because none of them want to pay the prize of sacrifies that he paid. We are always happy celebrating the world hero, when will the world celebrate us? "May God raise us leaders like Mandela, citizens like the south- Africans, electorate that would vote without preference for ethnicity or religious fragrance. We equally crave for internal democracy n vibrant opposition, stong institutions n civil society. Above all, we need robust economy with zero tolerance for corruption n insecurity. Truly, Mandela was a quintessential leader with democratic credentials." "Quid Faciamus ?" I leave you to reflect on this. God Bless Nigeria God Bless KOGI FOCUS GROUP |
