Ogun state politics is different. If they had the mindset of making the difference, we should have been seeing their hands on ground.

Why now do they suddenly remember the state? Let them be governor of the state they have been playing the politics for years.

You can see what happened during the Apc primary election involving Osinbajo
Year I get your argument. Solid one at that too because of the saying "all politics is local" meaning that constituents are concerned about their own immediate issues and local problem.

They would therefore likely vote a known politician suggesting solutions rather than someone deemed an "outsiders" proposing same.

Nonetheless, those of us with Ogun State origin, with progressive mindset cannot stop thinking what could be if someone like Fashola, not know to Ogun local politics, could be brought in purely for his administrative talent to then set Ogun on the path of development as happened to Lagos from Tinubu onwards.

Something must break the cycle of Ogun's caucus and ka ri mi (notice me) politics that means those who are incompetent have mastered the art of being visible to the electorate and thus continue winning at the expenses of those not visible, or even politically relevant, who may have the magic wand to transform Ogun State and elevate her to the status her endowment demands.

By the way, Osinbajo was a miscalcution by PBAT. He is not the norm and even Ambode proves this with how he has shown exemplary loyalty to Tinubu and APC post his outing as Lagos Governor.

Both Edun and Yayi should go and sit down somewhere. They shouldn't waste their money and time contesting for Ogun state politics.

Both of them have been active in outside politics without considering the Ogun local politics, no base nor any meaningful contributions to the growth of the state

They should go back to where they are coming from
Baba, na about who go deliver progress and not loyalty or support for those strong in local politics. Being strong at grassroot politics does not mean you will be good at leading a State.

Tinubu has proven this, by always ignoring the likes of Obanikoro, Obasa etal, to support those who are not politicians at all (like Fashola, Ambode, Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu etal) to carry his vision forward.

Obasa, for example, is a Titan of Agege and Lagos politics from even his late teens who has always nursed governorship ambitions.

Yet he will be a disaster as Governor in my opinion and I doubt Tinubu will ever support him.to become that.

Ogun State has sufferd enough since 1999 when all these local champions have held sway but done nothing to elevate the socio-economic status of a State that should actually be competing with Lagos if in the hands of competent administrators.

Edun is a lightweight politician in Ogun political terrains.. He has no local structures within d APC .
He is just like former VP Osinbajo, both re not reckon with wen it come to ogun politics

Tell him to keeps his money
You may be right about the bolded looking at things from a purely political angle.

If we are talking about progress for Ogun State then Edun is way better than those with "local structure".

It is the way politics is played in Ogun that is responsible for the condemnable backwardness of the State.

A State with far greater potentials than Lagos has virtually not moved even one step forward since 1999 despite her Admiral human and material resources because the State, beginning with OGD, has been going from one poor/average Governor to another.

Ogun State would have benefitted from having a benevolent political godfather who will neutralise those with "local structure" in favour of those who may not be politicians or politically inclined but would make visionary and transformational administrators.
As Tinubu achieved with Fashola, Ambode and now Sanwo-Olu.

Edun may be a "lightweight politician" as were Fashola, Ambode and Sanwo-Olu, who were not even politicians per se, but he will be better than most of the clowns with "local Structure" deemed "heavyweight politicians".

If Ogun continues with playing politics as she always has, the State will stagnate for decades.

Thank you.

May I ask you?
With all this your grammar why are those in diaspora performing far far better financially than people living in Nigeria, since according to your gospel the finish all their earnings on bills.

Please stop already.
Buddy, ask anyone who knows the diaspora as a matter of experience and not dem say dem say alone, those "far far better financially" in the diaspora are Nigerians with professional skill in medicine, IT, Accounting etc.

It is their far above average earnings, which most of the population of the UK cannot earn, that insulates them from the "living to pay bills" reality of many western nation.

If you want to 'japa' to go and do menial work in the West then better to remain in Nigeria. Everyone in the diaspora will confirm what I am saying.

Most Nigerians are prone to being refugees because of the nation we come from but those who have choice , and know what living and being alive truly is, are even moving away from the West most Nigerians wish to "japa' to.

When you spend virtually all your earnings on rent and bills, and have no saving, in nations with depressing weather, crippling loneliness, non-existent social life etc, then that is not living. It is grinding.

Listen to those speaking from experience and stop arguing blindly.

Yayi is a grassroot player but Edun would be much better. Yayi is a waste of time in my opinion. Talentless, lacking vision and the innovative mind to take Ogun State where her potential indicates she belongs.

He is simply a career politician and will be worse than Abiodun. Ogun State's tragedy of leadership is truly a conundrum given the many ultra-distnguished Nigerians that have come from that State like Obafemi Awolowo, Wole Soyinka etal.

So your monthly rent in studio apartment is how much monthly there ... Sha dey compare nonsense
Most of these guys are ignorant because they have never set foot outside Nigeria so you must excuse their lack of knowledge.

It was only recently a 'japa' Nigerian, in the UK, was lamenting that he cannot even go for a beer after paying rent and bills from his £2000 take home monthly salary because he is left will less than £200 after payday.

Anyone with half a brain will understand that Tinubu's reforms, though painful now, is to achieve a socio-economic status that facilitate Nigerians earning living wages and not just surviving from hand to mouth as has been the case under every President since 1999.

Living wages is not what Nigerians were earning under GEJ and Buhari whereby most enjoy subsidized fuel, electricity etal yet take home 40k or less a month, that barely covers their monthly transport cost, meaning most Nigerian families, talk less individuals, will never own a home, a car or even be able to ever holiday outside Nigeria.

When you earn a living wage, as obtains in many developed nations of the world, you would be living and not just surviving because you'd be able to buy a home on a mortgage, have two cars in your family, holiday abroad with your family at least once a year etc, etc.

Many Nigerians are simply too addicted to subisdy trap impoverishment, Nigerian leaders have weaponised against them, to ever appreciate they are living like animals in comparison to others.

Those Nigerians will never appreciate that it is worth bearing with a few years of reforms, necessary after decades of us doing the wrong things, to gain a socio-economically commendable life where they have all the things that dignifies a human being and validates what is a desirable life rather than the life of deprivation, hunger and frustration most Nigerians are born into and will die with.

All this shows Tinubu is the greatest politician in Nigeria post 1999 and probably of all times. He is never petty and has never a leaderr to join issues with anyone permanently.

That is because Tinubu, as an exemplary leader of leader, knows that "to err is human, to forgive divine".

He is always focused on his ultimate goal meaning he remains ready to rise above insults and attacks against his person to work with those who have maligned him previously for the sake of the greater good and purpose.

Keyamo, Omokri, Bwala, Obanikoro etal. The list is endless of former critics and enemies now firmly behind Tinubu.

A truly spectacular leader and uncommonly talented politician.

Lol. You people are tribalistic and dishonestly revisionist to the point of total idiocy that patronises the intelligence of those aware of Nigeria's history between 1999 and today.

Suffice to say I challenge you to show where Obi has featured in any literature from the most distinguished institution of learning globally let alone be regarded as a leader who delivered innovations for successful societies as Tinubu , along with Fashola, is regarded below in a research study at Princeton University.

what of Sunday Igbodo, should he be jailed too
Stop the mischief. You people have no shame with your devotion to redundant whataboutism instead of taking responsibility for your wrongdoing and that of your own people.

Igboho did not kill anyone, did not incite anyone to kill others, never incited his ethnic group to commit terrorist act, never former a group later proscribed as a terror organisation as Kanu did and certainly was not a hate preacher as all IPOB leaders are.

Face the aberration of your people and responsibly look to stand against it if some of you are still good and upright.

It was all Yorubas that applauded the actions of Oyo Governor when he quickly arrested and dealt with violent Yoruba nation agitators recently whereas you people support Kanu Ekpa and their violent, terrorist and anarchic antics.

Imagine a whole ethnic group obeying the sit-at-home lunacy of unelected hooligans and killers yet you are comparing yourselves to Yorubas.

At worst Igboho would be guilty of vigilantism. Go and google it to know judges can even be very synpathetic to the cause of a vigilante who is about the defence of himself and loved ones against marauders rather than your demons murdering fellow Nigerians in cold blood and, much worse, men and women of the Nigerian armed forces carrying out their legitimate duties.

Crystal clear, to all sane and normal people, Igboho is very different to your many demons guilty of murder, anarchy, terrorism, extrajudicial killing, summary execution etc.

You cannot hide behind vigilatism if you murder others at will terrorise society and hijack the authority of elected leaders, with the mandate of the people, as Kanu, Ekpa and your lot have done.

Don't ever compare them with Igboho. You lot should deal with your own madness and stop making whataboutism excuses.

Correct. He is charged with incitement of terrorism. That is as criminally serious as it gets. Because Nigeria is playing kalo kalo with Kanu’s trial does not mean similar will apply in Finland.

He will get jail time with the lenght of time to be served dependent on what Ekpa’s incitement led to.

We all don't need to be told that the Nigerian government can provide evidence Ekpa’s incitement led to death of many innocent Nigerians including armed forces personnel.

We all witnessed it, as recent history, to include seeing Ekpa acting like God with power over life and death of others.

He also ran Autopilot which is essentially a terror cell within a bigger terrorist organisation that is proscribed in Nigeria.

I'd be shocked if Ekpa is sentenced to less than 10 years in prison and perhaps even longer. Not many nations are a joke like Nigeria.

I don't think Simon ekpa was doing any wrong by speaking up for his people, while constantly pointing out, all the wrongs from Nigerian so called leaders, and the tribal suppression against the Igbos.
The good thing about great countries like Finland, and USA the great, is that, their assessment know how to look at things from a general way, so, they know when a passionate oppressed people are just talking, and when they are talking and doing.

Finland, and every other great society, that looks at Nigeria closely, will see that Nigeria is a very tribalist, violent, and islam in their way and vision. Just because most igbos are not violent, are devout Christians and judah, - they are systematically being dealt with. The genocidal tribes of Nigeria knows how to deal with igbos in a heinous manner, while showing what they scripted to investigative foreign eyes and senses.

The case is still ongoing, and is going through a process. It is at a process where Questionable tribes - disguised as Nigeria, are the ones trying to silence the Igbos, but God is bigger than all of them combined. Most people from the islamics core north, SW, some tribes in between, and their igbo foot soldiers slaves, are the ones that get angry when igbos speak up.

Internally, igbos are not United. Some Igbos don't even know they are Igbos, every clan wants to hold on to their small clan, and that is over their tribe. So, how do you think the others that mean you evil suppression in Nigeria, views you? Am sure they love the igbo disunity, so that they can have free reign to massacre igbos while they keep the grip on mineral resources. Look at how okp*lor eyes have bought up the minds of most the sw. With Igbos, all the islamics northern stooges in Igbo areas, sent people to finland, to go and lie against ekpa.
Lol. Here we go again with the sentimental and emotional talk. Do you know any Western nation first hand rather than what your clearly biased mind makes you believe of them?

So they will see you guys as pious and devoted Christians and "Judah" while viewing all other Nigerians evil moslems, terrorists and tribalistic demons to then rule in favour of Ekpa who was "speaking for his people" (as if that is all Ekpa did) and then set him free?

We dey laugh. Go and ask about life from Adeyinka Grandson. The UK court did not deem him as speaking for anyone. They simply looted at the evidence and conclude he was guilty of hate speech as charged.

That is what unemotional Courts in the West, only compelled to look at evidence, do daily and consistently.

If they found Grandson guilty quickly of hate speech alone then I don't know the miracle you expect for Ekpa who did far worse and is guilty of inciting terrorism, violence and anarchy plus the leader of the dreaded "Autopilot" terrorist killer militia executing people summarioy across the SE.

We will see sha. Keep praying. A miracle may happen for you guys who always see your own, even the very demonic ones, as "innocent" and "victims".
