Afonja44:If not that it is hate and uncouthness that influences the reasoning of your sort, what has this man said that is wrong? Can Anyone deny that the primary failure of these kids stems from the callous and unfeeling indifference to their plight from Northern leaders like Atiku now looking to gain political mileage from problems him and his fellow political and elite class caused? “Atiku’s expression of ‘horror’ at seeing the children in court was merely a façade,” Klinsmann asserted. “If he genuinely cared about their plight, he should have used his position as Vice President for eight years and his considerable wealth to address the underlying issues that drive these children to the streets, at least in Adamawa, his home state.” Klinsmann attributed the root cause of the almajiri crisis to pervasive poverty, which compels parents to send their children to almajiri schools. “Deprived of parental love and care from an early age, these children are sent into a harsh environment to seek knowledge but are ultimately driven by survival,” he said. “Begging for food, money, and basic needs becomes their only option. Without proper food, shelter, and care, many fall into cycles of drug addiction, violence, and crime.” “The perpetuation of the almajiri phenomenon is rooted in years of poor leadership and the neglect of the masses by the northern elite,” Klinsmann observed. He stressed that while the Federal Government has taken steps to address the problem, education is on the concurrent legislative list, meaning state and local governments also play critical roles in providing basic education. |
BeardedMeat:Lol. Who quoted who first? Forumers can see to once again note the cowardly nature of you people who always attack other first to the play victim when they respond in Kind. |
Odin13:Clown. Below in bold, is what I responded to and debunked. Are you high this early in the day to be talking about States in Arewa? mrvitalis: |
mrvitalis:It's called voters apathy olodo. By your crude logic, how many votes did Tinubu get in Lagos? Even less than Obi. Which Nigerian, unless insane, would claim Yorubas are not at least 34 to 40% the population of Lagos? Stop letting bigotry push you to make wild claims here. You'll simply be 'owned by Nairalanders who do facts and never let emotions, sentiments and bais cloud their thoughts. |
BeardedMeat:You lot are so dullardly. See how you have now admitted Igbos lie, fabricate and sell fake news deliberately? Is this not what is behind una criminal mentality? |
mrvitalis:You'd be less of a clown if you're not perpetually prone to telling lies that shows whatever intelligence you have becomes worthless when Yorubas or the SW are mentioned. Only someone who is insane would claim the bolded in your post. Bro, watch your hate level. Hate becomes dangerous when it renders folks completely incapable of accepting factual realities. You Igbos were estimated to be around 1 million in Kano in 2012. You can never be more than 2.5 million in Kano today even being very generous. https://dailytrust.com/why-some-igbos-stayed-back-in-kano/ An on–line publication, Economic Confidential reported that in Kano, where it met with some Igbo leaders, they have disassociated themselves from the campaign by the Ohaneze Ndigbo of Kano, saying with about a million population of Igbos in the city and investments of over N20 billion, they have no reason to run away. You wish to equate to Lagos where even the most objective sources put the population of Igbos in lagos at no less than 30% of 23 million which would be more than 6.5 million? Na by force to talk bro when you only ridicule yourself doing so? |
BeardedMeat:Lol. Continue your delusional exaggeration ala "Buhari dead and replaced Jubrin from Sudan". All Nigerians know there is no threat of death hanging over the head of these kids. You Igbos are always free to play toxic and opportunist politics though. It is what has made you the pariah of Nigeria politics you are today because you cannot reason expansively and long term. |
Lol. She is "stunning" . African Niggas need to get their hussle on so I can't blame a brother for doing what he has to do. |
AntiZikist:Precisely. You have just identified the problem. Obi is a divisive hypocrite but his message is right. Churches in Nigeria are evil IMO. They could do so much to change the dynamics for gullible and naive people yet they exploit them instead for financial gains. When they can offer vocational training to get unskilled Nigerians earning well and sustaining themselves within six months, they'd rather encourage their congregation to keep tithing because " life-changing miracles are on the way". I hate Nigerian Christianity and pastors with a passion. We are one of the most religious nation on Earth. Arguably the most religious even. Yet Nigeria is horrendously backwards and the Church plays a role in that with how it is full of "prosperity scammers" rather than being an agent for the spiritual growth of Nigerians. Same way Nigerians warp and damage everything, we have bastardized religion also. |
Strictly dealing with the message and disregarding the messenger, who I despise, I agree with Obi. If Nigerians Pastors are decent and progressive human being, rather than tithe and private jet-loving con artists, they would be encouraging Nigerians to look inwards in trying to solve their problems rather than cajoling them to believe they must always seek divine intervention and be in church always. Of course they will never deliver such messages because promising their prayers will deliver miracles for Nigerians is very profitable. Meanwhile Nations not even 5% as religious as Nigeria have left us far behind because they view religion correctly as the establishment of a relationship between you and your God. They therefore still primarily believe man has the capacity to solve his own problems. To that end, they keep working to provide human solutions for human problems as much as possible. Different to Nigerians who view religion the solution to every problem an individual has and would therefore seek a Pastor's 'miraculous' intervention ten times out of ten over their challenges. One thing Nigerians should bear in mind, regarding Christianity in our nation, is the way covid 19 exposed our version of Christian worship as fake. Churches worldwide were looking for ways to be charitable and supportive of their flock during lockdown. Nigerian pastors were encouraging their flock to pay tithe via bank transfer since they could not attend church to do so physically. |
N3TRAL:For the purpose of this thread, there does not need to be even a single one because you don't need to be a Nobel laureate to begin producing STEM related solutions for your people This is about using STEM to solve problems. You may not have many Turkish Nobel laureate in the STEM discipline yet do you you know how fairly advanced their engineering, medicine and scientific research sectors are? Brits are going to Turkey for medical procedures, meaning they accept Turkish medical health treatment to be acceptable, yet I am sure Britons are the more celebrated and acclaimed medical experts, scientists and researchers than Turks. The Turks makes weapons they can use and others around the world buy for God sake while we cannot make weapons in Nigeria we can use let alone others would want. We import. The point, which you miss, is that Turkey is producing solution for itself because her people key into the concept of local solutions for local problems whereas Africans are too comfortable with waiting for others to produce solutions for African problems. |
mrvitalis:Again ,and I am sorry to say this, you are talking sentimental rubbish and making inane excuses for our failure as an African subset of the black race. Ever heard of the saying "necessity is the mother of invention" ? It is the theory that built the STEM (Science, technology, Engineering and mathemetics) success of the world that has given us major solutions like Penicillin, electricity and even Microsoft. When the African faces challenges, he automatically looks for others to provide solutions for him because he is a sentimental creature, in comparison to others, who does not understand that every man and woman can/should be a solutions provider and change agent. Africans don't produce what they need, meaning they will remain net consumers of the manufacturing capability of foreigners, because we automatically expect others to solve all our problems for us rather than take even ten minutes to reflect on issues troubling us and how we can device solutions for them. That is the truth of our reality. We shout food scarcity and cost but look, for example what White farmers did in Zimbabwe till Mugabe drove them out only for him to realise black farmers cannot pick up the slack to be as productive as white farmers because they could not apply themselves as devotedly and as studiously. It is simply about mindset not intellect because we have seen black Africans rise to the top in Western nations where innovative solutions provision for society is held as sacrosanct. When Africans are in society where all are encouraged to provide solution, many excel to become commendable solutions providers. Whereas black in Africa demand solutions from others, without even thinking or their own suitability and capacity for solutions provisions, because that is the mindset here. Meaning we gain less solutions overall. Hence the reason Nigerians and many African nations are a mess. |
cucumbar:Get help. You need it urgently. |
helinues:Precisely. It is because organised racketeering cabal don't exist outside Nigeria as dem plenty inside our nation. Immigration Oga at the top demands 300k to 500k daily from the boys. The boys put pressure on those below them. Every misery of their greed and desperation is visited on ordinary Nigerians who have no protector or saviour till now. Today those racketeering cabal are gone with one fell swoop initiated by Tunji-Ojo who, though brilliant and driven, is succeeding because he has a President standing behind him and enabling him to do and achieve what he must on behalf of Nigerians inside Nigeria. |
JagabanB:Smart geezer. This is a 'see it to the end' decision the government, at all levels, took to show "born to rule" desperados who are willing to use anything to grab power, to include kids, that they will be countered and the laws of Nigeria will be used to nullify the lawlessness some are used to getting away with. |
helinues:It is their way my brother. Helinues visit the thread below sharply. The same miserable folks you indict, whose focus remains on bad news alone, are pretending not to see the game-changing development that only favours ordinary Nigerians 100%. They will now no longer be extorted at passport processing centre. They say Tinubu is about money, looting etc but he keeps moving to shun and dismantle big racketeering cartels to the benefit of ordinary Nigerians. https://www.nairaland.com/8256169/contactless-renewal-nigerian-international-passport |
Max24:Don't mind them. Accentuating what they wish to spin as bad news is their strength. Will you see them on the thread below where something really worth celebrating has now been delivered for ordinary Nigerians? https://www.nairaland.com/8256169/contactless-renewal-nigerian-international-passport |
Childish Idiocy from some as usual. Grow up OP. |
JagabanB:Cool. Will do. You're a progressive baba. Drop a comment on the thread below because it is amazing one of the most transformationally requested changes has just happened yet Nigerians do not seem happy to acknowledge or celebrate it. This stupendous development shows Tinubu's commitment to reform Nigeria and uplift ordinary Nigerians as no others before him have done. It would not be a big deal elsewhere but it is in Nigeria knowing the desperate and ruthless passport racketeering overlords Tinubu would have cowered to deliver this gamechanger that is a massive plus for ordinary Nigerians who I have seen with my own eyes been humiliated, locked up and even dehumanised at passport processing centres. Now they never have to vist those horrid people again and can retain pride in themselves instead of visiting passport centres where they will be humiliated for demanding what is their right to have as citizens of Nigeria. This did not happen under Buhari and it would not have happened ever under an Obi or Atiku Presidency because we know the powerful extortion cabal that has been defeated with how Nigerians do not have to go to immigration centre to face racketeering immigration officers more brutal than even Al Capone and other mob bosses. Obi would not have had the balls or support to do this even if he wants to and Atiku, who made his money from sleaze in our customs service, would not want to take food from the mouth of Northerners who flood immigration positions in Nigeria. Without a Powerful President in Tinubu behind him, Tunji-Ojo could not have pulled this off because of the many powerful forces that would have cowered him. This is now our normal, like GSM under OBJ, no future President can reverse. Big up to PBAT. Nigerians, only if they have eyes to see, should follow the President wey know road. https://www.nairaland.com/8256169/contactless-renewal-nigerian-international-passport |
JagabanB:I have not seen it. You have any link to it? |
Bobloco:Reno does not speak carelessly, rashly and without being aware of pertinent facts. He'll speak when he is in possession of all facts that makes issues clear. You will be shocked his submission will shame IPOB and Obidient enemies of Tinubu and Yorubas like you. |
Nbotee:Yes. For real. Nigerians renewing their passport no longer need to go to any immigration centre to face extortionists sharks parading as immigration officers. Do all in the comfort of your home as obtains in most advanced nations of the world. With this sort of developments, Nigerians will be great because extortionists and opportunists will start looking away from government jobs to find proper jobs, productive activities or businesses to do. When leaders plug corruption loopholes, to the benefit of ordinary Nigerians, we will all be forced to be more innovative and productive to acquire the lives we want. Most Nigerians only all flock into Government jobs because of the daily money they can make from corruption which is sometimes vastly more than their daily salary. The horrid culture has to stop and I am overjoyed the extortion racketeering of those terrible immigration officers is being ended by Tunji-Ojo. Not from Ondo but I will go there to campaign for him to be governor in future as I hear he is interested in becoming. |

Kukutente23:You do not know what you are talking about. What skewed write-up. Present your own detailed take on the bill then and stop sitting in judgement of others alone. I dare you to give your own detailed take on the bill and point out it faults since I know that is all you are about. There are so many easy to undertand sources stating the tax refrom bill and details of it's four component bills. I only picked one randomly because they all say essentially the same thing quoting the bill as proposed. It is like various reportages saying Tinubu won the 2023 election. Only an idiot will pick on source when the info revealed is factual and correct by all sources. It is not rocket science and only someone wanting to pick petty fight will focus on distractive idiocy and not the bill's merit which are by by far more than any issues any can have with it. Clearly, your a biased individual with an obviously hidden agenda and zero objectivity towards this current government, probably Igbo and an Obidient, so no point continuing any back and forth with you. Bye. Don't quote me again. Prove you are not a mischief-maker and give your own detailed take on the tax reform bill as you understand it and make your case. |
Believeintruth:What "high taxes"? Why do some of you love lying like this? Or is it that you are just ignorant? Either way you Are the sort I refrain engaging in any back and forth because when you lie about something fundamental to the core of discussion it means you should not be indulged. Nigeria, for your information, disgracefully has one of the lowest tax to GDP ratios in the world and even in Africa which is just crazily ridiculous. It is a big waste of opportunity for our population. "High tax" is nothing but a figment of your prejudiced mind and clear anti-government bias. You can hate Government but don't tell ridiculous or ignorant lies to indict it. https://africa.businessinsider.com/local/markets/tax-collection-in-nigeria-is-low-bill-gates/eee2l93#:~:text=Nigeria%20has%20one%20of%20the,to%20use%20the%20revenue%20wisely. Nigeria has one of the lowest tax-to-GDP ratios globally. The government doesn’t trust citizens to pay their taxes, and citizens don’t trust the government to use the revenue wisely. |
psucc:Shetimma is only looking out for the interest of North. Even if such run contrary to the interest of Nigerians, the region will charge him to protect their interest while in Aso Rock. It is only a question of time before Tinubu and Shetimma fall out like OBJ and Atiku. People can mark this down. This is because what Tinubu wants to do, to uplift Nigeria, means the North must embrace a lifestyle change and drastically new attitude of the "earn your keep" type. I don't see the Conservative and rigid region acquiescing easily. Tinubu is in a fundamentalist battle I am sure he is up to the task of winning even as I know he will be sabotaged by many who cannot see the big picture and are parochially sentimental. He is a man of means. I am sure he will get it done. Same Nwaoko, below, confirms my point that Tinubu is in a fundamental battle against the forces of vested interest and this is a test of his mettle. https://tribuneonlineng.com/tax-reform-as-tinubus-test-of-kariability/amp/ |
hotseat:Objective and balanced take. See my post above to note one of the obvious "grouse", I.e less VAT to be collected by the North, that is behind the vehement opposition to the bill by Northern leaders. Nigerians should be supporting Tinubu to pass this bill into law rather than joining their slavers who want the bill quashed. For instance, how many Nigerians know that they will pay less VAT under the new bill whereas leaders of the North, used to Federal government stipend they use for private jet lifestyles while the average Nottherner lives in abject poverty, do not want this for ordinary Nigerians? Yet those who have decided to hate Tinubu for nothing other than his ethnic origin will be thrashing the bill and giving power to those who want Nigerians, for example, to keep paying VAT on food, rent etc while this bill seeks to abolish that. Nigerians should be guided so as not to cut their nose to spite their face. Below is confirmation of what I said about Northern leaders and addiction to VAT plus other federal stipend. They do not want to change so there will be inevitable face-offs between them and Tinubu who believes all States and region must use what they have to develop and sustain themselves rather than taking begging bowls to Abuja Aso Rock daily. This face-offs had already started last year when North wanted to ensure their own, and not Akpabio, became SP. Some of us know it is because they wanted the most powerful legislative job in the land to use in frustrating Tinubu if he wanted to push any bill they feel is deteimental.to the interest of the North even if such in the best interest of all Nigerians. Hope some see now why some of us who saw the big picture passionately supported Akpabio to be SP as a matter of utmost urgency. Imagine Bauchi State Governor lamenting that VAT stipend affects the budget of the State. VAT largely collected from the South and negligible in most Northern State. IGR is negligible in most Northern States too with their governors not interested in looking inwards to boost it. Go figure. https://tribuneonlineng.com/tax-reform-as-tinubus-test-of-kariability/amp/ On November 13, 2021, the Bauchi State government, while addressing newsmen in the state pointedly lamented that the “VAT war” between Wike and the Federal Government adversely affected the state’s 2022 budget proposals and projections. |
Kukutente23:Yes I do and I broadly support it. I picked an area to quote, see below, that shows Tinubu has taken the best interest of Nigerians into consideration in the formulation of the bill. The grey areas can thrashed out by stakeholders. Ordinary Nigerians should have no problems with the four proposed bill. The North, for example, have objected to the bill vehemently and I would think one valid reason may be because many States there rely heavily on VAT stipend from the centre. VAT will likely now be less as it will be charged on fewer items to favour all ordinary Nigerians but some do not want this. If you shop in supermarkets today you'll be charged VAT on groceries. No more after this reform bill becomes law. Making it a very good development for some. Yet that will be a substantial decrease for some used to Federal Government stipends in various forms to include VAT. They will fight the bill. I think Nigerians should try and familiarise themselves with the important changes the bill seeks to facilitate to note it is favourable to their interests. Below is a good guide to get anyone up to speed with the rudiments of the tax reform bill. https://punchng.com/how-tinubus-tax-reforms-will-ease-citizens-burdens/ Perhaps the game-changer among the several pleasant provisions of this document is what the bill seeks to do with VAT. |
almarthins:Agreed corruption is definitely an issue but we have to give the President the benefit of the doubt and hope he can do thing differently, more efficiently and more productively. |
Villagesquare:I agree with you. Some good suggestion. Also, Nigerians need to get far more involved with inspecting how taxes are spent by Government. The tools are there but we are, in the majority, not interested in utilising them. See below. https://yali.state.gov/how-taxes-are-spent-every-citizen-has-the-right-to-know/ How Taxes Are Spent: ‘Every Citizen Has the Right to Know’
