bixton:I absolutely agree with you 💯% . Indeed corruption will be a challenge to the judicious use of increased tax collected. Yet, it is a new Government and we can only hope it can do things differently and more productively. One things is for sure though, all actions possible must be taken to increase the income of Nigeria that is now broke with a mono economy, for now, essentially dependent on income from sale of crude. |
Princedapace:Nigerians pay negligible tax. That is what you don't understand. They pay very little for utilities, like power supply, also. Whereas paying utility bill gives nation worldwide the money to maintain, undate and continue to improve utilities like power supply etal. Not the case in Nigeria. Let us face it, Tinubu has a good history of efficient collection of tax and then putting such to judicious use in Lagos. We can at least give him the benefit of the doubt and not judge by what others have failed to do. |
maxiuc:You have a point but we are where we are I.e totally fcked because of other President who did not do as you suggested to grow various sources of income for Nigeria. Tinubu cannot now do that overnight. As I am sure, Tinubu will not stop trying to diversify our economy away from dependence on crude so we have more income to use on capital and development expenditure. Nonetheless, it is still good to collect tax efficiently and optimally. No economic tool that can help to turn our nation round should be ignored. |
Sharpsharp00123:What is to be noted is that Tinubu is not even calling anyone's bluff per se. He is just determined to do what is in Nigeria's best short and long term interest. To that end, he is not ready to allow anyone or group, wherever they may be from, to stand in the way. |
demmie1:Don't mind them. So hateful and twisted, they cannot even passionately support reforms that is best for them and their generations unborn because such comes from a Yoruba President. |
iwaeda:What are you talking about for God sake? We are all in agreement that some of the biggest problems of Nigeria stems from how very powerful people, with vested interests, want to retain the status quo impoverishing Nigerians horrendously for decades yet making a tiny few stupendously rich. Now a President is here to tackle those folks and people like you, rather than get behind him for the sake of your generations unborn, are speaking as if he has done wrong. Crystal clear the hearts, mind and reasoning of many Nigerians is damaged. Iwaeda, Yoruba for the behaviour of human beings, is a username that fits you well. |
demmie1:Maybe he doesn't. We shall see. 😎 |
Sultanofpiglets:Choi. Angry, hateful, violent and illiterate too. Terrible combo. Oga, na give a fck. Not give an fck. I bet you are 100% one of those illiterate cultist IPOB touts running around with AK47 forcing old men to drink mud wate for daring to step out of their door during sit-at-home. Joker. |
Sultanofpiglets:Meant to write capital font. Google it dullard to note it connotes anger (shouting) and it is bad Internet etiquette. Refined Yorubas have to keep educating you backwards and unrefined cavemen daily. |
DomPerignon:True. |
Sultanofpiglets:Bold font. Aggressively malevolent and uncouth talk. You can even discern the palpable anger, raw hate and even penchant for senseless violence. Same responsible for the Igbo on Igbo carnage going on in the SE today. This is why they they call you lot children of hate and perdition. |
mrvitalis:If you are decent you won't be prompting them to remember alone. You'd be insisting they take responsibility for this situation through birth control awareness initiatives, education reform, vocational skill provisions welfare policies etc. Instead all you can do is keep mouthing "North sha remembers" because, per been consumed with feelings of malevolence against Yorubas and Tinubu, your hope is that they show Yorubas and Tinubu shege in future. Won't happen buddy. Yorubas are not tenth class Igbos and it is not Tinubu hounding these minors but the laws of Nigeria, as it is allowed to do, holding them accountable for their very serious wrongdoings. See how the progressive brain of Yorubas works compared with that empty hole in your head? |
Sultanofpiglets:Nigeria juvenile delinquency law allows for their trial and punishment for the serious offences they committed. Ignoramuses like you would not know that but ask why there is no worldwide protest if the Tinubu Government is doing wrong yet you ignorant Igbos are everywhere making noise. The point being made with this trial is that Northerners should stop using children like this and these children too should stop following anarchic instructions blindly because severe consequences await. Better to check this lunacy at every instance so it begins to be left in our past. Otherwise you and your fellow Igbo loudmouth and mischief-maker may be victims of these children, failed deliberately so they can be used as pawns, in future when they are instructed to attack Igbo "infidels". |
Sultanofpiglets:Dullard, it is the norm worldwide and the way Nigeria must head if she is to be safer. We know you nomads and refugee Igbos have nothing to lose and will all simply flee to even Sudan and Somalia when your five plot of land gets too hot but we Yorubas are a resolute people who want to be safe, secure and productive in our beautiful and blessed land. We will fight for that, as we showed the world with Amotekun, so go and worry about SE being overrun with the unprincipled, unserious and duplicitous leaders you have who will even be the ones to sell you out. |
Ttalk:It is their way. A people so hateful, they have lost the ability to be minimally decent, fair or reasonable. |
Sultanofpiglets:Lol. I know that is what you hateful, envious and malevolent creatures wish on the SW but note Tinubu is no fool. I expect State or regional police to be entrenched in the SW before he leaves office. Let IPOB louts or any other come and try nonsense in the SW then. It seems you don't understand it is compromised crime fighting (police) and defence of territory (army) giving bandits an Boko boys the appearance of invincibility. Swap the Israeli, British or US Army with our own and give them free hand to work for even 3 weeks. See if the North won't be free of banditry and Boko Haram menace. |
babasolution:Nothing like that. Mainly the IPOB lot desperately looking for anything to use demonizing the Government of Tinubu. |
Yankee101:You must be high this evening. Yorubas go to other land in Nigeria the least by far of all ethnic groups. If Yorubas number more than 500k in the five plots of land called the SE I would b shocked whereas Igbos will be no less than 8 to 10 million in the SW and counting. No one can threaten Yorubas. Work it out from actions you are seeing. Yoruba are not Igbo who never say what they mean and never mean what they say. They shout Biafra but the way they live exposes their noise as mere blackmail. Yorubas are the real deal and we want more autonomous control of our region, where Yorubas are empowered the most, and we will get it. Nothing and no one can stop us. We have learnt from the past accommodating, supporting and empowering ingrate only for them to turn around and start abusing our hospitality. You can do as you please with the neglible few Yorubas who may choose to remain in your land rather than return home, when regional autonomy is here, to be first class folks in the new and progressive SW. |
LegendHero:He isn't only sad, he is terrified and paralysed with fear at the thought of deportation back to his native Imo State that is now headquarters of IPOB lunacy and violence. Lol. |
PrinceOfLagos:Lol. You'll always be a kid even when 60. That's how immature your mind is and will always remain. Now, run along and let grown niggas talk. |
Binajj:Stop living in the past. One Nigeria is on her death bed and will pass away soon. 100% guaranteed. Yorubas are the only one, of the major ethnic groups, who appear cognisant of this inevitable reality and preparing for it. While Igbos are the least prepared with no form of advanced plan for it at all. |
criuze:Efficient and increased collection of taxes will significantly improve your standard of living. You pay fairly high taxes in the best nations of the world, with excellent Infrastructure and healthcare etal, that are collected efficiently. Same must be birthed here. Nigeria has been living in the 16th century under past President. Tinubu is trying hard to advance us into the 21st century where others have reached. |
forgiveness:Absolutely. Anyone that wants Nigeria to grow will have no problem with the tax reform Bill enough to attempt killing it entirely. Consultation and more detailed discuss can help to iron out areas that are bone of contentions. |
Cmeo:I second your prayer for Tinubu. He really wants to transform Nigeria for the better. His commitment is 100%. May God grant him the strength to achieve all that is needed to begin moving us towards developed nation status. |
garykoeman:Indeed. The IPOB lot will always remain delusional. |
Ttalk:Indeed. A people who don't build real, valuable and tangible bridges childishly believing gaslighting will gain them political mileage. We dey laugh. Even if all Northerners hate Tinubu, it is not Igbos and Obi who will profit from that scenario as our delusional IPOB brothers naively believe. |
Lol. Our divisive IPOB crew at it again trying to do things they suck at. You love propaganda but you suck at it. @OP. You think the average Nairalander, unless he wants to be mischievous, would buy into your BS of North will remember how Tinubu starved "their kids"? These kids were dining on lobsters, grilled Chicken and barbecued Croaker with chips before this day ba? Same Kids Northern leaders themselves have starved, deprived of even primary school education and rendered despondent from birth? If the elongation of Generational poverty was a course people paid serious money for then every single Northern leader would likely be a billionaire lecturer on the topic today lol. Talk better Mr.baby propagandist. You just dey learn work. |
Afonja44:For once, I agree with you. It can also be attention-seeking that is indicative of narcissm and excessive self-love which predisposes some folks to always wanting to be the cynosure of all eyes. |
Joey4321:You and most Southerners still don't get it and never will. Most of those kids have no parents or adult carers. Many have been abandoned or orphaned long ago They are street kids anyone can use and dispose of for a few Naira. These children were being given 500 naira to go and join the protest. I saw it on NTA during the August Protest. Did you see the children of Northern elite joining or leading the protests? They have thrown the dispensibles to the lions for what they believed would aid the actualisation of their selfish agenda and lust for power. I have no issues with civil protest. It is adults who should organise and partake in them. Not children and certainly not vulnerable, illiterate, neglected street children who were taken advantage of. |
Good2go1:Stop playing politics with this. You are the typical Nigerian who knows how to blame all others for everything but personally very wicked, corrupt, inconsiderate and devious. A lair who sees A to call it B. Nairalanders should look at the picture of the boy in brown. It is heart-wrenching. He is crying, overwhelmed and distressed. Sure his current situation has likely created anxiety, confusion and deep sadness for him. Yet that boy has likely been sad, neglected, overwhelmed and distressed from birth. He is likely illiterate, homeless and probably fending for himself without any parental or familial help. After this current case is dispensed with, and unless rehabiltated and empowered with education/vocation skill, he will go back to the Street and may join a bandit crew or Boko Haram in future. We all know what and who is responsible for this boy's plight since he was born. It is not Tinubu or his reforms. The cause of the boy's pain, from birth, is the elitist system and elite/political leaders of the North who have always been resistive to pro-talakawa reforms, long before Tinubu became a politician, like the free education policy of Awolowo. It is that system and those people that are responsible for this boys plight and misery. Had he grown up with responsible adult care mentoring every stage of his development, will he be where he is today? It is irresponsible for Nigerians to play politics with the plight of this boy and millions like him. No crime has been committed getting him into that court room because he is suspected of conduct regarded as wrong in the eyes of the law. A responsible society, rather than be playing cheap politics, would look at how to ensure boys and girls like these don't fall into despondency from birth that then dooms them to a life of pain, neglect, deprivation and perhaps serious crime eventually.
|
Jayinyourdreams:Lol. So Tinubu put those minors in the position they are currently in? In fact why don't you blame him for some of the children never haven set foot in a school in the 12 or more years of their existence on earth? |
Joey4321:It is the North that hates, neglects and kills her children not, for example, the SW or SS. You should not indict the whole Nigeria for what the North alone is doing to her children. Or did you see any minors protesting in the SW and other regions? |
