dealslip:True. The multiple grid collapse caused blackout disruption in my side of Lagos that has only improved the last two day. Before the grid collapses, light was so good I did not use my gen for like a month. |
HeatSeeker:The grid has collapsed several time across Nigeria recently though. That's why I assume this is what you meant. |
Tinubu has no reason to do such. All current grid collapses have been general as far as I know. I am sure PBAT respects the North and values the support of the region. He is still his own man though and will not be blackmailed or bullied by Northerners. |
RevenuesBoost:Every nation has quantifiable figures in virtually every sector, that accurately captured net income and debt stock to the extent Countries have credit ratings, pegged in relation to their economic output, that affects their ability to borrow. It is easy for the USA to work out that Nigeria produces x amount of crude daily and the income we make from that using OPEC global per barrel price. They know what we owe also. If you therefore print money that cannot be explained by your economic output, then you may find yourself blacklisted for trying to defraud the sacrosanct consideration that a nations wealth and financial buoyancy must always be tied to it's economic output alone. National loans are negotiated. Meaning, like me and you when we take a bank loan, Nigeria's income would have been assessed to note capacity to pay back the loan without defaulting. Trying to use cash to instantly clear 5 billion we owe USA, and agreed to pay over 5 years , premised on our known and possible income, will raise suspicion of rogue nation conduct if Nigeria turn up one year into the loan deal to say we wish to clear the balance . Our income was looked into when we took the loan with allowance made for realistic economic growth. When your current economic output is worse off than when you took the loan, which is the case with Nigeria, it can only mean you are printing currency and commiting fraud against the international credit rating system which all nation must commit to preserve the integrity of. Also, we pay foreign loans in foreign currency. If Nigeria's economy is worse and unproductive, as is the case today, which nation would accept naira for dollars loans they gave us? What would they gain accepting the currency of an economically unproductive and struggling nation in exchange for the almighty dollar? Nation cannot/should not use the 'cheat mode' of printing money. They must commit to trying to grow their economic output. Imagine if every nation prints money to get out of debts? |
press9jatv:Skeptical about him previously but he has won me.over with his achievements Oyo folks can see and feel. |
vanbonattel:Not surprising since you are an Igbo born and bred in the SW yet still giving Yorubas backchat while Ekpa has hijacked the mouths and legs of your folks accross the five SE States. Lol. |
vanbonattel:Ekpa in Finland has ordered you all sit at home ba? Jokers. |
LegendHero:Lol. Developers in Lagos, Accra, Cape Town and Nairobi yet accepting less than 20k in Abia as salary that is even overdue by months. Yet they are all billionaires. Lol 😆 The life and times of "developers". What a joke. |
vanbonattel:Your tormentors you mean. Buhari even made you lot inflict terrorism on your own people. You are not ashamed to be bullies of your own innocent and powerless fellow Igbos you force to stay at home when you like plus subjugate and exterminate at will with your gang of cultists and killers. Pathetic. |
lexylaw09:They don't want improvement and progress. They just want Tinubu out. |
vanbonattel:Illorin this Kwara that. Dullard. |
AfonjaScud:Even in their SE, they would not dare go outdoor unless Simon Ekpa approves. On SM they are mainly all just frustrated and bitter noisemakers. Their mission is Lagos because they feel serious chaos can begin there that will snowball. Every Yoruba is ready for them. No need to say more. |
AfonjaScud:Very dull. 'Thick' upstairs as Iroko is dense. Or dense upstairs as Iroko is thick. Lol. |
Brendaniel:Lol. You're a real funny dude. You're polite sha so all the best to you. |
PressMyButton:Don't mind them. Yorubas are the most effective, most principled and most systematically rebellious of Nigeria's main ethnic group. I remember after OBJ's rule then followed by Year Adua and GEJ's underwhelming Presidency bereft of badly-needed fundamental reforms. The SW had already fully turned their backs on Nigeria and resolved to use regional autonomy, predicated on the research and findings of the DAWN initiative, as a development template in 2012 -2013. It was Tinubu, Pa Akande and others that pleaded with us to re-engage with the centre.via politics so we have a short at the Presidency in future we can then field a progressive Yoruba to use reforming the SW and Nigeria. Yorubas are not afraid to go back to that DAWN template and I personally prefer it. If it is treachery they use to hound Tinubu out then be rest assured Yorubas will simply fully resolve to go it alone again as they did before till politics blindsided us. Another treacherous act, whereby Tinubu is denied time to lead that the North had under Buhari with the support of the SW, will just signal to Yorubas it is time they are done with Nigeria and the need to coalesce into a regional arrangement quickly and without truncating such plans again for anything or anyone. Parts of me even wishes this happens. |
Brendaniel:If you don't believe me that's fine. I can't be doing 2011 to 2015 politics in 2024 with so much going on. Alternatively use Google. It is your friend. Simply type in "how jonathan marginalised the yorubas in nigeria". Happy reading. |
helinues:Very simple. Every single day Tinubu remains in power is very painful and upsetting for them physically. Where do you think the malevolent suggestion ( from a Pastor 😲 ) came from that Remi should poison Tinubu so he would not have been sworn in? It came from a place of pure evil me and you cannot understand and have no business understanding. Suffice to say they are pained. Very pained. They saw the protest as another chance to oust Tinubu and it is now evaporating before their eyes. |
Brendaniel:You forget GEj was utilising the slot of the North, after 8 years of OBJ, courtesy of the death of Year Adua? Did Yorubas not vote overwhelmingly for GEj in 2011 only for him to stick his fingers up at them to then leverage his 2015 win on sucking up to the North and surrounding himself with Igbos? Please let's stop the pathetic revisionism. It is dishonest and debases use as human beings. Most of us were alive then and adults also at the time. Jonathan you people hold brief for is friends with Tinubu today because he knows what he did wrong and, specifically, what he failed to do. |
Racoon:You mean the SE right? Yeah. Azikiwe's treacherous collusion against a secession clause, Igbo coup leading to destabllizing counter coups, Ironsi Unification decree, Ojukwu's mindless civil war and now IPOB lunacy. Of course everyone knows the region that is mainly responsible for where Nigeria is today |
Kai. These students and youths from the North have ruined the taste of food for five days for our sadist IPOB and Biafran brethren. Upon refusing to join protest because the intentions of it's sponsors is not known to them, they attest that Tinubu has delivered for them as students. Double wahala and frustrations for haters of BAT. “I strongly urge you to refrain from participating in the upcoming nationwide planned protest. The organizers of this protest are unknown, and we are uncertain whether their intentions are peaceful or violent. Your safety and well-being are our top priority. |
Bayajjidda:The Northerners are your bogeyman. Not that of intelligent Yorubas. You people have this simplistic notion that Northerners will just concoct machiavellian machinations and sieze power from Tinubu with no consequences after 8 years unbroken and untroubled for Buhari. This is not the Era of Abacha you know. Truth is Northerners need Southerners also. No one knows that more than the Yorubas who happen to have the most economically and strategically important region of Nigeria as their home. Me I am dying to see what your 'omnipotent' Northerners you fear so much will do to Tinubu. I can't wait. |
opamoses1:They are angry because it is now obvious many are aware of the real agenda they want to achieve with the protest. Folks are prepared for them. As it it, they've begun to see another desperate avenue they wanted to use to oust Tinubu going up in smoke. The pain and frustration is too much for them. |
Beremx:Na appointment for Fashola either and many others. You can't shade Joe Igbokwe because he is a man who enjoys enormous goodwill. His only crime is not following the Igbo herd mentality blindly. He has spoken. A word is enough for the wise. If protest is genuine then protestors must be ready to comply with the instructions of the police which will be very restrictive and stern so no allowance for any hidden agenda to play out. |
helinues:Lol. Same here. They have labelled Uncle Joe an "efulefu" since 1902. Good luck to them if they want to disregard his advice. Man has said it all just like some of us already warned them. |
Codes151:Indeed. The truth is that many are now getting fed up of the born-to-rule arrogance of the North. I am fully behind Akpabio. |
Procashtips:Bro, you are the joke. Show where this is tolerated anywhere in the world. If your vision of serving the people, as a politician, no longer align with that of your Party then defect to a platform that suits your aspiration. That is how it is done worldwide. No where in the world will Political Parties tolerate disruptive elements whose only mission appear limited to undermining the Party from within. |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Even when a Northern cleric demanded Remi Tinubu be killed, did Tinubu have him arrested? Tinubu is one of the most democratic President, fully devoted to freedom of speech, Nigeria has had. Political Parties have rules same as even your own household, if you have a wife and kids, must have rules other cannot violate casually without repercussion. The issue, if you know Ndume, is that he is a fifth columnist acting out a well-rehearsed script. Nowhere in the world can you be devoted to fighting and undermining your political Party and then be allowed to remain in the same Party. INdume is no champion of democracy otherwise he can leave APC and legitimately fight Tinubu from the opposition bench. |
Racoon:You'll never have sense. If you want to openly undermine your own political Party and leaders publicly, how can your position continue to be tenable? Ndume has to be sanctioned and disciplined. If he still fails to toe the line and genuinely stands for the truth as you claim, even as we know his history that suggests otherwise, then he can join PDP or Labour to launch vitriol against Tinubu to his heart content. Simple. In a letter addressed to the Senate Caucus by the national leadership of the ruling party, the APC asked Ndume to resign his membership of the APC and join any opposition party of his choice. |
nedu666:Lol. The cowards would be your entire ethnic group now begging Tinubu to release Kanu you lot bragged was invincible. Abeg who are the cowards of Nigeria now reduced to begging after bragging "arrest Kanu and Nigeria burns"? Look at the response of your typical cowardly and empty baggart brother. "Try to re-arrest him and meet your Waterloo". Where is the Waterloo from cowards Wike dealt with ruthlessly in Obigbo-Oyigbo yet mouthing off the entire Nigeria will burn because of a midget now in custody for 2 years and counting? https://www.nairaland.com/4028501/nigeria-burn-re-arrested-nnamdi-kanu/10
