richmond500:Solid talk. He failed as a Governors of mono religious and virtually mono-ethnic Anambra State. Yet we are to believe he will succeed at the far more complex job of presiding over multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural Nigeria? |
Obi's best shot was 2023. He was viewed as a Messiah then because of the perception he is different to the "old boy" who have ruined Nigeria. He has since gone on, with his talk and action to date, to show he is cowardly, weak and an empty barrel. Most Obidients who have the highest level of integrity, as human beings, have left the Obidient movement. As a very potent and factual reality, how many Yorubas Obidients exist today compared to 2023 when they were so many to the extent they used to get on my nerves? Virtually non. Go figure. Nothing for Obi in 2027 other than 3rd or 4th place for sure . |
AdolfHitlerxXx:Post of the year nominee. Start to finish. 👋🏾 |
richmond500:Don't mind him. "Stand for nothing and fall for anything". That is what that Vitalis dude and many like him show daily. Any man who is principled, progressive and well-meaning has to stand by his convictions always. That the likes Vitalis constitute 70% of Obidients shows it is a fake project of hidden agendas that has nothing to do with the search for good governance of Nigeria.
|
mrvitalis:Bro go and sit down. To me you are an example of what is wrong with Nigeria and killing us. I.e an educated class that cannot rise above ethno-religious sentiments, bias and prejudice. You specifically attacked Obi's leadership credentials years ago on this same Nairaland and insisted he is not fit for leadership. Once Obi ran for ultimate office, attempting to be President, you changed mouth to be one of his greatest cheerleaders here. Who is unintelligent enough not to note the reason for your shameless and unprincipled U-turn? The greatest Countries in the world were built by people who can rise above petty and prejudicial sentiments concerning race, religion, ethnicity, gender etc, etc. You should remember that when you are making sycophantic noise about Obi today while you vehemently insisted he is not fit to lead previously. |
tiger28:Lol. I've made this point loads of time. Let's not forget he has only one wrist watch, he buys corn from the roadside, he does not "give shishi", he does not jump queues, he cleans Airplane toilets etc, etc, etc. Just ridiculous and patronising. In fact all the garbage crafted around Obi is nauseating to exposed Nigerians. This because exposed Nigerians know that Obidients talking alone about Obi's supposedly "ordinary man holiness" is a ploy to detract from the fact he has no identifiable leadership talent nor validated /visible leadership achievements. Honestly the fans of Obi, a 💯% proven failure, are a disgrace to Nigeria. I say this as a citizen of the world who cringes to see the poor level of political sophistication Nigerians are at compared to even their African peers talk less of the developed nations of the world. |
Kdon2:Indeed. We talk about democracy yet Nigerian politicians don't believe in that nor practice it. Many came into office for selfish reasons meaning they are always ready to swallow anyone standing in their way if they can destroy or dominate them. This is why at the highest level (President or Governor) you cannot be weak nor take prisoners. Tinubu must move with a tight crew that cannot be compromised. To include, most importantly, a leader of the legislative arm 100% loyal to him. For example, what PBAT is doing to El Rufai is what must be done to show two important things. (1) Tinubu is a strong and authoritative President of the biggest black nation on Earth. (2) A Southern Presidency under a Yoruba can put Fulanis, who believe they own Nigeria, in their place to redefine Nigeria and make her a nation that can move forward under modern and meritorious principles of leadership. Tinubu, who understands Nigerian politics very well, has done his homework to dominate the legislature so that he can't be compromised or undermined by that arm of Governance North always wish to dominate because they have greater representation of numbers in our legislative arm. People forget the born-to-rule North made the effort to control the Senate through the effort of Senator Abdul'aziz Abubakar Yari to be Senate President instead of Akpabio. They began gaslighting talk of "Southerners trying to dominate all arm of governance" conveniently forgetting that is what North did with Buhari as President and Lawan as SP. The hawkish North tried to checkmate Tinubu through gaining control of the legislative arm of Government so PBAT does not have free hand determining the direction of Nigeria. Tinubu made sure his man carried the day and is enjoying the benefit of that today. Nigerians politics, underground, is war for leaders even as they smile with each other publicly. These are the reality of our politics ordinary Nigerians cannot understand but leaders, at the highest level, must deal with or be defeated and relegated like GEJ. This is because controlling ultimate power, at the "winner takes all" end of things, means you can literally arrogate billions of dollars to yourself in seconds without any opposition whatsoever. The mentality of our President therefore matters immensely. He must not be weak and must be ready to take down monsters also. Yet he must be able to work to move Nigeria forward. A tricky balance to achieve ordinary Nigerians won't understand. I believe Tinubu , since 1999, has the best mix of qualities and leadership talent, given the complexity of ethno-religiously feudal Nigerian politics, to get us moving in the right direction. |
Regsys:Shocking to be honest. I may slap my 10 year old son if he is guilty of that sort of error. |
Kdon2:Nothing PBAT wants that Akpabio does not ensure he gets. Tinubu values him. |
aswani:Lol. Don't mind them. So many have access to data they use presenting talk online that makes Nigerians appear like dullards. |
brain54:Akpabio is not going anywhere. Nigerian politics is adversarial, hardly ever progressive, and based almost entirely on self-interest. Meaning even when a President wants to do good then many can stand in his way because they believe his actions will take away their 'food'. A Nigerian President needs a 100% loyal 'battering ram' Senate President who will (1)Protect him and (2) ensure he gets his way. Akpabio is a very good SP for PBAT. He will remain SO for that reason. Same way Wike too is almost untouchable under PBAT. |
abc115:Love the song in the video die. "Asiwaju, omo ologo". Child of victory and blessings. |
Wrong to target MTN and DSTV. Multi-national businesses , operating in several nations, do not have identities exclusive to their home nation. MTN and DSTV staff in Nigeria will be Nigerians in majority. They will be affected by any effort to punish MTN and DSTV. What South Africans are doing is condemnable and shameful. I just read the plight of a Nigerian, Peter Odike, married to a South African and naturalised having been in South African for 20 years. His three kids are being bullied in school over the tension this xenophobia stand-off has caused because their father is Nigerian. This is terrible and South Africans should be ashamed of their behaviour. Kids for God sake? Nigerians never do this. We don't bully anyone in our nation and hardly care where any non-Nigerian in Nigeria is from. In fact, Nigerians even go out of their way to protect and assir foreigners more than their own. That said, targeting SA businesses in Nigeria is not wise. This is an issue concerning international relations. Our politicians and diplomats should work to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Nigerians in South Africa. They should take SA Government to task and seek justice for the two Nigerians killed due to xenophobic violence. Yet it is crucial to not let this become about ego and machismo. This is an issue for politicians and diplomats to resolve. |
NairalandBishop:Thank you. Those who are successful or planning to be successful have no time or use for emotions and sentiments. The Nigerian personal, business and leisure world value MTN and DSTV for their services others cannot rival. How is it sensible we should throw two meritoriously superior service providers for Nigeria away, over issues that has nothing to do with them, when we don't have anything to replace both with? This, and it is important I stress it, coming from Oshiomhole flying South African baddies around in private jets yet sabre-rattling emptily against meritoriously superior and valuable SA businesses offering Nigeria unrivalled services? Nigerian leaders are worthless hedonists and shallow con artists stealing a fat living and cruising through life luxuriously at the expense of ordinary Nigerians. To think I had so much regards for Oshiomhole when he appeared a fearless labour leader in the past. The more I learn about Nigeria, from personal experience living and doing business in the nation, the more I understand majority of Nigerians are naturally deceptive and not what the pretend to be. Many will pretend they are the greatest champion of the masses. Yet when you stuff money, political office, luxury living, private jet travel and South African huge ass baddies in their faces as a daily diet, and as Oshiomhole now enjoys, and they become elitists overnight with no resemblance to the 'people's champion' we all previously believed them to be. |
adeiza4u:Bro, wait and see what Kwankwaso does next na. I am happy with what NDC and labour have done , zoning their ticket to the South, but we should never have being in this position if Obi and co had not cowardly failed to maintain a unified frontal push in 2023 to insistently show Atiku and co that no Northerner is allowed to contest. Bode George shouted himself deaf insisting PDP must not allow her 2023 ticket go to the North. Instead Obi fled rather than defend that noble and honourable position as Wike did in PDP. With Tinubu, Amaechi, Osinbajo etal doing same in APC. the South never presented any serious challenge in the 2015 and 2019 elections because the rotation agreement had made those period the exclusive turn of the North. Dem no born south well to misbehave when it is the turn of the North yet some Northerners, through Atiku and and Southern turncoats including Obi, felt comfortable enough to actually attempt hijacking the turn of the South. Atiku and Tambuwal etal made a serious effort, totally disdainful of the South, to replace Buhari in 2023 that meant , had Atiku won, Fulanis could have ended up leading Nigeria for 16 unbroken years. Obi is now running around wanting zoning to the South to favour him when his is only a victim today of his cowardice that made him not stand his ground and fight for what what a man must fight for when he must. |
Validated:What is predictable about you guys always is that you will be emotional, incapable of working with reality and lacking ability to think critically. What "formal written agreement signed by all parties" can be enforceable above the provision of the Nigerian constitution that sanctions a maximum two terms of 4 years, 8 in total, for every President sworn in for their first terrm? No one will trust any " I will do 4 years only" pledge Atiku or Obi make because such cannot be legally enforceable given the exclusive provision of our constitution that is superior to everything else. Just take that "4 years only" garbage off the table abeg. Better Obi looks at the bigger progressive pictures, assuming he even has minimal dedication to doing what is best for Nigeria, and join Tinubu to complete 8 years for the South as virtually all Southern Leaders and many Northern leaders , Governors in particular, have joined Tinubu in APC to achieve. |
greatermax77:100% agree. I studied details of the wide-ranging reform of the British police force, through the recommendations of the Macpherson report, over the murder of Stephen Lawrence. A black teenager. The murder was committed by some racist thugs and the police was not involved but found to have handled the investigation poorly. Yet this is Nigerian police officers directly executing Nigerians for God sake and we cannot see the need for fundamental reform of the NPF? Of course comprehensive reform is needed or better still expedited creation of State/regional police forces. It is scary those charged with protecting Nigerians are executing them yet Nigerians are not screaming majorly in protest. We really have become a people numb and dissentised ove death and killings. I blame 'one Nigeria' for this whereby nothing, from our armed forces to national institution and even educational system, works anywhere near as well as seen elsewhere. As a businessman, I don't even want to get started talking about how lousy, evilly corrupt and worthless our customs/excise, immigration service and many government institutions are in comparison to those of Ghana etal talk less of those of developed nations. They are inhumanly devilish, will show you shege, reduce you to tears and are even prepared to ruin your business and livelihood if you don't give them what they want. Demons. Most Nigerians simply don't appreciate how virtually everything about Nigeria needs to be reformed fundamentally. I.e tear up everything and start from scratch sort of reforms. Virtually nothing national is even averagely decent let alone commendable in Nigeria. I laugh when Nigerians simplistically think solutions is about individuals I.e Tinubu, Obi, Atiku, Sowoer etal. Very ignorant belief. Nigeria is not and will never be workable without deep institutional reform predicated on brave and uncompromising constitutional change to end 'one Nigeria' inefficiency that is 100% behind every major problem of Nigeria. This is why I am an uncompromising fan of regional autonomy so we can all go and create smaller geographical areas that works and are sane as others enjoy worldwide. Nigeria is a huge crime scene and most Nigerians just don't appreciate this because they have no knowledge of realities elsewhere.
|
Macphenson:Well-said. I too like how Disu is moving although I believe State/regional policing is the progressive and long-term way forward |
Egodollars:You are showing the problem with the calibre of young people Nigerians are raising today. You guys cannot think critically to be best solutions-providers available if they drop you you in corner of the world. Tit for tat because you are thinking with your ego alone, when the reality is that you will not be able to get Nigerians to step in and meritoriously take the place of MTN and DSTV. Meaning it will even be folks like you begging the South Africans to return after you begin missing the comparatively superior service they provided that you took for granted. This is an issue for politicians and diplomats to deal with. No sensible and exposed person will back Oshiomhole's talk suggesting we self-destructively target South African businesses in Nigeria that add considerable value to our nation your fellow Nigerians don't have the capacity to match. |
OracleJay411:We don't have the capacity to do that. Stop deluding yourself. We overhype ourselves too much. Dishonorable dismissal and hijack of MTN and DSTV so that"stakes will be sold to Nigerians", as you simplistically view issues, will end in tear. Same way Mugabe chased white Farmers away and dashed plantations to Zimbabweans only to discover they did not have the capacity of those he kicked out leading Zimbabwe to suffer seriously for that foolish self-destructive act of egotistism. Give MTN and DSTV their dues. As far as African businesses go, they are commendable and have attained levels Nigerians have not shown capacity to reach. As a businessman and well-travelled citizen of the world, I know what I am talking about. Read the article below where the CEO of moniepoint laments how they have 500 vacancies they cannot recruit Nigerians for because they are not intelligently talented enough t operate to the class-leading standards others can. Moniepoint even discriminated in favour of Nigeria and went through a phase of trying to prioritise employing Nigerians above all others. Yet they realise the talent deficit was real meaning they will fail as a business trying to sentimentally prioritise the employment of Nigerians when our people cannot solve problems for Moniepoint as well as others can. We are letting ourselves down and I personally get dejected seeing young people like you coming online to believe Nigeria and Nigerians have capacity we don't instead of us understanding we need to work much harder to succeed and dominate in a world that is becoming more challenging and competitive. It would be nice if someone can make a thread of the topic below. Very discussable but I don't have the strength for creating threads. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/business-news/877219-mixed-reactions-trail-moniepoint-ceo-eniolorundas-claim-on-nigerias-talent-gap.html According to him, for Moniepoint to operate and compete with its global competitors, especially Chinese firms, it requires skilled workers of global standards, which he said left the company’s vacancies unfilled, especially from Nigeria. |
Macphenson:I am not aware NDC has officially zoned their 2027 Presidential ticket to the South. Good and equitable move, if official, but will create problems for Kwankwaso I am not sure wants to run as Obi's deputy. |
How is this news? It is what some of us have insisted since Atiku, Tambuwal, Malami etal passionately and decisively settled on ADC. I.e the ADC is their exclusive platform to use actualising a Fulani born-to-rule effort to usurp power from the South dishonorably. Comical Obi and his supporters, in the first place, bought into the thinking Atiku, Malami, Tambuwal etal respect Igbos. How foolish is the confession of this guy when some of us stated, as far back as 2023, Obi and Igbos have no business affiliating with Atiku, Tambuwal etal given that same born-to-rule supremacists showed a callous and Machiavellian ruthlessness to deny Obi and Igbo the PDP 2023 Presidential ticket that non other deserved more than Igbos who had given loyal service to PDP for decades. Personally, I believe Obi is angry with himself for allowing Atiku etal to play him again, with ADC, when they were same crew who made him flee PDP in 2022. Obi is hurt to note they have no regard for him and probably now understands he should have stood his ground to fight alongside Wike, with Bode George supporting them uncompromisingly, to ensure a Southerner emerged PDP 2023 Presidential candidate instead of fleeing to hand cheap victory to Atiku, Tambuwal etal. |
IgOga:Yes OO. E pain ADC enter body well well. However, I am.sorry to announce though that Obi cannot win in 2027. Nonetheless he will be remembered well if, as some of us confidently believe, the second term of Tinubu is going to usher in what will be positive and extraordinary progress that will finally put Nigeria on course to reach her full potentials given her abundant endowment. |
I don't like Obi but anyone progressive will thank him. I believe any challenging combo would not stop Tinubu returning in 2027. Nonetheless Obi has made that certain now because he has taken real electoral strenght away from ADC. Meaning Atiku cannot win. For this, I thank and celebrate Obi. The South must have her 8 years. The effort of the born-to-rule supremacists North to hijack power must be repelled. Let the North wait till 2031. Fair is fair in life. Nigeria is not the fiefdom of Fulanis. Very important the South, and decent Northerners, help to establish this important considering in 2027. |
Parachoko:I have heard and read same thing. I wish him and Edo well. |
Heads should roll for this and there really should be severe and deep institutional reforms of the NPF over developments like this. Nigerians, above anything else, should recognise the horrific fact this could happen to any of us. I.e murdered extra-judicially by demons charged with policing our society. This is one of the reason I believe State/regional policing cannot come quick enough as I am sure some States and regions of Nigeria can create professional and efficient police forces that will be examples for others. |
RoeEvi:What foreign countries exactly are you talking about? How are MTN and DSTV linked with these xenophobic attacks? You think foreign Countries egotistically, without using their brain, engage foolishly in act of economic self-sabotage? Oshiomhole is talking nonsense suggesting Nigeria revoke licences of MTN and DSTV for "Nigerian Investors to fill the void". What "Nigerian investors" exactly and how many years have they had to produce Nigerian equivalent of MTN and DSTV yet nada? You should be berating arrogant politicians like Oshiomhole, not supporting them, for such an unbelievably stupid and unreasonable suggestion. I personally value both MTN and DSTV highly. Oshiomhole is showing the unthinking arrogance of politicians suggesting Nigerians be deprived the services of both when him and his lazily unproductive colleagues, flying Oloshos around and living fat, cannot replace the value MTN and DSTV bring to millions of Nigerians. They are alway ready for empty sabre-rattling but never the leadership capacity to create the socio-economic condition that can build Nigeria's equivalent of MTN and DSTV. If same happen in Japan, Nigeria should ban use of Toyota, Nissan and Mazda Vehicles? Dumb "cut your nose to spite your face" nonsense and emptily prideful talk from Oshiomhole. |
Manny21:I wonder OO. Totally senseless and egotistic demand by Oshiomhole. The attacks against Nigerians, that has led to the death of two Nigerians, are wrong and condemnable but our political and diplomacy leaders should simply tackle their South African equivalent and demand action. They should leave privately built businesses, that Nigeria cannot create nor replace out of their egotistical pontification. Really mad, as a businessman, at Oshiomhole for this emotional and senseless rant. Nigeria should revoke licence of MTN and DSTV, that add immense value to the lives of Nigerians individuals and businesses, to replace with what exactly? Can our lazy, unfocused and corrupt system deliver the equivalent of MTN and DSTV? |
phemray:Indeed. Alleged coup plotters have been arrested and their trial ongoing, indicating justice taking it's course, yet he is ranting bitterly and insultively. Some people have serious issues. |
