RIP. Dude seemed like a nice and likeable person. |
abc115:The best President since 1999 by far for those who truly understand the fundamental problems of Nigeria and the holistic moves PBAT is making to address them. |
Richtaiwo:Lol. That image of "Mr.humility" cracks me up. Dey carry 2face Idibia bag. WTF. |
abc115:Good. Once it's clear there is no zoning then everyone face their papa house. After PBAT finishes his second term of course. |
xjiggy:It would be easier, and far more effective, to cut off trade ties with SA till they accept our demands fully. Yet Nigerian politicians, because of vested interests, will never do that. Instead they will be sabre rattling and fooling Nigerians as usual talking of targeting MTN and DSTV. |
harsysky:Don't mind them. Has Zimbabwe recovered today over Mugabe's dumb and myopic act of chasing out white farmers when native Zimbabweans lacked requisite skills and expertise to engage in commercial agriculture as successfully as white farmers did? You dont cut your nose to spite your face. Only dumb people do that. |
Felicity001:Politicians should fight with what they control. I.e international trade etc. They should not encroach into areas that will affect and punish ordinary Nigerians . I appreciate MTN and DSTV. So do many Nigerians. Put the vote to them and they will demand government leave those businesses alone and engage in bilateral trade war with SA instead. Oshiomhole is just being a guy man. He should enjoy his big booty SA Olosho, he is flying around in private jets and giving foot massage, in peace. This effort to position himself Nigeria's alagbara ain't cutting it with me and neither will it impress any exposed Nigerian. |
Ofunaofu:Empty noise. Why did you not key into decency, that is meant to be a part of most well-calibrated Nigeria's, to first and foremost insist the cleric has no business inciting Muslims? If someone makes a clearly racist and religiously incendiary comment, do you ignore that to praise their general talk? When Nigeria finally descend into chaos it will be cause of religious extremism from the likes of the Muslim cleric you rush to applaud and the Igbo pastor who told his congregation anyone that votes Tinubu will die. |
Yvngex:All that talk of SA President and shares in MTN na wash. If we mean business, then we enter trade war with SA if we are ready to go to any lenght to protect our people. America etal do it all the damn time. Oshiomhole dey whine una. Don't we have examples of how other nations behave when in our situation that never involve targeting privately owned businesses? They initiate trade war and hostility instantly !! Nigeria should instantly stop crude oil supply to SA. Oshiomhole should suggest that. Yet he won't because he may even be benefiting directly or by proxy with Nigeria's bilateral trade with SA. |
Astrid4:Many of you have made this example and I guess it is because Nigerians are avid football fans. Yet most of you don't appreciate the full picture. The UK Government did not target all Russian businesses in their nation. It was specific targeting and Abramovich was sanctioned because he is a Russian oligarch with wealth linked to state capture of Russia by Putin and his cronies. The world wanted to cut off Russia's wealth to diminish their ability to fund war against Ukraine. Asset seizure of cronies of Putin, like Abramovich, was legitimate tactics for a NATO-led world that felt Russia did wrong yet did not want military engagement with Russia knowing the nations nuclear capacity. You may not accept that but Russia opened itself up to any retaliatory effort after declaring war on Ukraine. War is different business entirely. Almost no rules apply.
|
Bluntemperor:The bolded is true yet the world is becoming more protectionists today and anti-immigration sentiments is rising everywhere globally because resources are becoming scarce and many nations now see a need to prioritise the needs of their own people above that of immigrants. As a critical and pragmatic thinker, I can understand it. Nigeria may have to do same some day if we suddenly become far more prosperous than others leading to high levels of immigration into our nation. What I will never understand is the nature that predisposes a people to hunt down and kill others merely because they are foreigners in their land. What is sad is that we cannot make more of what God has given us, which is a lot, to turn Nigeria into a nation no Nigerian would wish to leave to migrate to south Africa in search of a better life. |
Ofunaofu:Tinubu has won even before a vote has been cast. You know that and this is why you jump on threads like this to engage in efforts to demarket Tinubu when you should be castigating those using religion to incite Nigerians. When the worst happens, God forbid, you will begin to cry. Responsible men never fail to keep what matters in sight. Obvious you are not one with how you cannot see what is gravely wrong with the statement below considering Nigeria is currently a very divided and terrorised nation. Keep fanning the flame of extremism irresponsibly because of bigoted hatred of Tinubu and his ethnic group. Na everybody go chop the breakfast the senseless and irresponsible behaviour of you and your ilk will serve up. “If You Are a True Muslim, You Will Not Vote For This Tinubu’s Government |
Lol. Moslem cleric from the North “If You Are a True Muslim, You Will Not Vote For This Tinubu’s Government ". Igbo Christian pastor "anyone who votes for Tinubu will die". Is this still democracy? We are all watching this extremism and saying nothing. When the worst happens, let us all ensure we identify those responsible for getting us there again with their historically extremist and intolerant nature. |
harsysky:Thank you. This is the point I have been making non-stop. If we are serious, and our leaders are ready to protect Nigerians at any cost, why not bilateral trade war against SA? Kukuma go for the jugular as USA etal do all the time. Which one is MTN, DSTV etc? |
obongtunji:All that talk of SA President and shares in MTN na wash. |
Felicity001:I have always strongly condemned xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in SA. It is unacceptable. This round of it that has led to the death of two of our citizens must not be tolerated. Yet, our indolent leader must not use the development to burnish their own reputation. Why does Oshiomhole suggests soft targets, i.e South African-owned businesses operating in Nigeria, when he should move for cessation of bilateral trade with South Africa beginning with Nigerian ending their supply of crude to them? Is it because he knows that will affect the income of Nigeria which may affect him and his private interests? They are taking you for a ride bro. Leaders know what they have to do to protect Nigeria globally. Yet they never do those things. Na today? They leave us to our fate globally to be mistreated and then begin impotent sabre rattling when issues like this arise. Why can't Nigeria cease bilateral trade with South Africa instantly till we get justice for the Nigerians killed in SA? You think other nations won't view us guilty of distractive cowardice and failing our people if the best we can suggest is targeting businesses when we can go directly for the jugular of SA over trade relationship with them?
|
Samtob90:If Nigeria is serious, we should sanction SA officially. Bilateral trade with SA is in Nigeria's favour. We should not be targeting South African businesses operating in Nigeria. We are behaving like a rogue and lawless nation doing that. If Nigerian leaders really view the killing of Nigerians as unacceptable then we should start by sanctioning SA over bilateral trading we host with them. The likes of Oshiomhole love sabre rattling emptily to con us that care and are working. Why can't he insist we stop crude export to SA that may have an impact on his own lavish income? They know what they have to do if they are ready to get justice for Nigerians murdered in South Africa. Th USA can invade Nigeria, to grab perpetrators themselves, if two of their citizens are murdered.in our nation. They won't be targeting Bayo Ogunlesi and his business interest.

Counterigbolies:Absolutely. The bolded in you post is the truth 100%. A quick way to note principled people is their readiness to always admit factual reality. Nigeria cannot be winning world central Bank of year award, while global economists are all praising Tinubus leadership to high heaven, and Obidients are lying that Tinubu has has 'tanked global image of Nigeria in 4 months". As you said, this is simply about them wanting their own to be President and not because they are sincerely seeking the socio-economic progress of Nigeria. |
potent5:You have justified my point when I mention "you guys". You pretentiously cite decentralization of Seaports as very important to you and indicate it is an issue you hold against Tinubu. Shown the factual reality of how Tinubu is actually working to deliver what you claim to want, you veer of course to be talking about "personal opinion". Most of "you guys" are simply not honest or progressive. You lack integrity because what you claim you want is not what you really want. You, for example, if sincere, should have commented about what was revealed showing the effort of the Tinubu government to deliver decentralization of seaports you indicated is important to you. Instead you are talking of "APC machines and dishonest propagandists". |
PlasmaTV:Kai. Una sabi lie. You think we are all illiterates? The bolded is a figment of your prejudiced imagination and never reality. Nigeria is currently highly regarded globally because the world understands the reforms we must embrace to move forward and they see Tinubu , of all Presidents since 1999, is the leaders most committed to implementing these needed reforms bravely and diligently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph5XCf8jgOE?si=UavABuv3DF7se-Bj
|
Macphenson:Not possible. |
potent5:No he is not. He is an intelligent guy who understands what Nigeria has to do to become developed. If he profiles correctly, he can easily become a political leader in future. Per Seaports, let's focus on what is factual. We live in an information age and it is disingenuous pursuing an agenda of giving a dog a bad name to hang it. You guys should let go of historical prejudice and vendetta to get behind Tinubu if progress for yourselves and your generations unborn is what you truly seek. Fsctually, Tinubu is doing the business. You guys just don't wish to see it and are not ready to defer to facts.
|
Tenses:Lies. It is unprogressive Northerners, because they are used to the welfarist set-up of Nigeria where government stipend subsidize all aspect of their lives from currency arbitrage to hajj trip, who do not want Tinubu to continue next year. They have failed. You lot better get ready for a reformed Nigeria from next year where the foundation will be laid quickly and aggressively for a nation where merit, innovation, free market economy and private-sector energy will define Nigeria. No more quota system and padi padi bullcrap that destroyed Nigeria and some Northerners are addicted to. |
LagosOrigin:Lol. You are. Funny also how you quote Aregbesola who is the worst and most incompetent Minister of interior in the Post-1999 history of Nigeria. Like the Devil claiming Jesus is evil. Lol. |
LagosOrigin:PrinceOgLagos, I have known you for years now since #EndSARS. When are you going to let go of the senseless hatred you have for Tinubu? Did he burgle your house or stole your life savings? |
Ofunaofu:You and your co-travellers are just unprogressive nuisances. Look at what is shown below and you will note that it is the template Tinubu is following holistically. No Government has fought to deliver full local Government autonomy as Tinubu has done. We have regional development commissions for every geopolitical bloc of Nigeria today and something your SE has begged several Government for with Tinubu now being the President to oblige. Regional development commissions, run well, can be arbiters of regional autonomy. There is so much more that is real and factual towards restructuring of Nigeria Tinubu has done and I am always taken aback to note how unprincipled you lot are with your dishonesty and denial of korokoro truth because I will never deny facts and reality against even my worst enemy. That is what being principled and upright is about and I personally feel I owe it to myself to be that always rather than be lying shamelessly against others I don't like. https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/swest-govs-propose-six-regions-demand-lg-autonomy-resource-control/%3famp

MadPolitician:You're prejudiced. I'd be wasting my own time trying to show you what you aren't willing to see. |
Segxydube:Indeed. The laws are even very clear. Nigeria must show MTN's direct link with the xenophobic attacks that led to the death of two Nigerians to justify any effort to "nationalise" MTN and hand it over to Nigerian investors as Oshiomhole demanded. Sure, Nigerians are angry including myself. Yet we cannot do what Oshiomhole suggests. We are not in the days of Robert Mugabe or Idi Amin. Nigeria in particular needs foreign investors/investment. The current Government is working to make Nigeria more investors friendly by improving our image as a nation where foreign businesses and investment enjoy full legal protection operating in Nigeria. Oshiomhole is just sabre rattling egotistically and emptily because that is what Nigerian political leaders do instead of going about their duty diligently and effectively. State takeover of MTN cannot happen under Tinubu. |
lionshare:Ogbeni stop talking nonsense. Sanctioning businesses is same as "nationalising" them? You must think countries can do as they want against businesses operating within their border without legal consequences. The laws are clear. Under what valid reason will Nigeria justify nationalising MTN and handing it over to Nigerian investors as Oshiomhole demanded? Especially over events that happened in SA that MTN cannot be directly linked with. Is it in national interest or for public purpose for MTN to be siezed by Nigeria? I own three registered businesses in Nigeria. It is people who have never built anything, perhaps that may include you, that will believe the businesses of others can just be hijacked on a whim. Nigeria will never scale the legal hurdle to take over MTN. You lot love arguing too much whe factual and definitive knowle8can be obtained in seconds. Nonsense.

UrVillageChief:Look, there is almost nothing off the table when War breaks out. That is the case with Russia and Ukraine conflict. Xenophobic attacks is a crime for policing authority to deal with. How do you not understand this simple concept? Russia and Ukraine are at War. Nigeria and South Africa are not. Murderous xenophobes killed two of our fellow Nigerians. They should be brought to justice. We must insist on that. |
Mccullum:We are talking about War in the case of Russia and Ukraine. Xenophobic attack is criminal action for policing authority to deal with. Nigeria cannot threat xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa as if we are at war with them. We should focus on getting justice for our fellow Nigerians killed and then work continuously to ensure South Africa moves to curb xenophobic attacks against our people. It is that simple. |
Misterone:Lol. Which nation will want to trade with us or invest in Nigeria if we do the agbero suggestion bolded in your post? Can you listen to yourself? It won't happen and Nigeria cannot dare try such under Tinubu who is focused on presenting our nation as one that operates with integrity which ensure investors have full protection operating in Nigeria. You are simply being emotional like Oshiomhole. I am unhappy two Nigerians died. Justice must be down and their killers brought to book the right way and never through Nigeria acting like a lawless lynch mob nation. You will "nationalise" MTN and DSTV how? Do you think MTN and DSTV don't have legal rights protecting their ownership structure merely because they operate in Nigeria? |
