WHY AM I DOING THIS?

On May 31, 2014, I wrote a letter to Governor Fayemi through the office of the SSG, requesting information on certain projects in his administration.

The letter was based on the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2011.

The Act empowers a citizen to request information on any matter from any government office in the federation. Such offices are under obligation to produce the required information within 7 days. Should they fail, the citizen is empowered to proceed to court.

Today makes it 100 days since the letter was submitted. No response whatsoever has been made.

Apparently, this man has no respect for the Law. A law he also signed in 2012 for Ekiti State.

I am one of many discerning Ekiti people who believe that the Fayemi Administration has a lot to hide in the administration of fiscal responsibilities concerning

•N500million/lga road projects,
•laptop projects,
•2bn Flower project,
•housing projects among others.

By this petition, we can get the spotlight of the EFCC to shine on Ekiti State Government activities under Governor Kayode Fayemi.

This matter calls for urgent attention. Last week, it was State Teaching Hospital protest now EKSU is crying out.

The monthly Subvention of the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti is about N260m, while the WAGE BILL is over N400m.

How does a University pay over N400m salary with N260m Monthly subvention?

During Segun Oni-led PDP Govt, UNAD (now EKSU) was receiving about N180m as Monthly Subvention. The scrapped University of Science and Technology, Ifaki-Ekiti (USTI) was receiving N75m while that of The University of Education, Ikere-Ekiti (TUNEDIK) was N100m.

UNAD, USTI and TUNEDIK collectively were receiving about N355m!

Gomina Fayemi merged UNAD, USTI and TUNEDIK to form EKSU and was paying EKSU N260m as Monthly Subvention! Where is the remaining N95m?

Now, even the paltry N260m was never released as at when due.

As at today, July subvention is yet to be released!

Today is September 8, 2014, Gomina Fayemi is yet to release the Subvention for July and August!

Gomina Fayemi scrapped USTI and TUNEDIK. Now he is killing EKSU slowly by starving it of FUND.

Just wondering why this Gomina Fayemi is desirous of destroying everything that he met in Ekiti before handing over in October.

The hardest part is getting started.

When there’s a long list that needs tackling every day, the hardest part is tackling what needs to be done first. You may feel intimidated to start your next big project or pull your colleague aside for an awkward, but much-needed confrontation.

And prioritizing isn’t getting any easier. In his book Present Shock, Douglas Rushkoff blames this modern-day condition on our “continuous, always-on ‘now’“ world which has made us lose our sense of direction.

Successful people know that planning, organizing, and protecting your time is no easy feat, but if you don’t have your priorities straight, who will? Below are four unconventional methods that keep the brightest minds focus on exactly what they need to:

1. Think About Death

Reflecting on death might not be what comes to mind when you want to tackle your to-do list, but studies find it helps you re-prioritize your goals and values. Buddhist teachings encourage reflections of death with the idea that a better understanding of mortality also helps us better understand our purpose in life.

IF TODAY WERE THE LAST DAY OF MY LIFE, WOULD I WANT TO DO WHAT I AM ABOUT TO DO TODAY?
Steve Jobs believed thinking about death helped him make better decisions. In his famous 2005 commencement speech at Stanford University, Jobs said that he looked in the mirror every morning and asked himself, [color=#990000]“If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?”[\color] If the answer was “no” for too many consecutive days, Jobs knew something needed to change. He told the graduates that year:

“Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything--all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure--these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”

In 2012, artist Candy Chang gave a TED talk titled “Before I die, I want to…” where she explains how easy it is to get caught up in the day-to-day and thinking about death is a way to bring busy people back to clarity.

2. Wear The Same Clothes Every Day

When you downsize your closet, you also cut down on the number of choices you have to make every day, which means you can now focus on what’s most important: your priorities.

Plenty of CEOs adopt this “uniform” strategy. Steve Jobs wore the same jeans and black turtleneck day in and day out. Oracle’s Larry Ellison also preferred black turtlenecks, but often wore them underneath fashionable slim jackets. Amazon’s Jeff Bezos sticks to khakis, blue shirts, and sometimes a dark jacket. A spokesperson for the company once said: “[Bezos would] rather spend his time figuring out how to cut prices for customers than figuring out what to wear each day.”


Leo Widrich, cofounder of Buffer, despises these daily decisions so much, he wears the same clothes every day (he owns five white T-shirts and two pairs of pants) and also eats the same dinner six times a week. Widrich believes that the fewer decisions he has to make, the better his decisions will be.

In an interview with Michael Lewis for Vanity Fair, President Barack Obama agrees with Widrich’s way of life: "I don’t want to make decisions about what I’m eating or wearing. Because I have too many other decisions to make. You need to focus your decision-making energy. You can’t be going through the day distracted by trivia.”

3. Know The Difference Between Urgent And Important

Like Rushkoff, Dwight D. Eisenhower knew how easy it is to lose track of goals if the importance of tasks are confusing. To differentiate between “urgent” and “important” tasks, the 34th President of the United States broke the two into very basic distinctions:

An urgent task requires immediate attention and is often performed in a hurried, reactive mode. An example of an urgent task is calming the baby or attending a meeting.An important task contributes to long-term values and goals and is performed in a responsive mode that leads to new opportunities. An example of an important task is planning the company’s next relationship-building mixer. Important tasks can sometimes also be urgent, but often are not.
Author Stephen Covey popularized Eisenhower’s Decision Principle in his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

4. Make An “Avoid At All Cost” List

Warren Buffett knows that you can’t be amazing if you focus on everything you’re interested in at once. This is exactly why, to keep his focus laser sharp, Buffett advises making a list of the top 25 things you want to accomplish in the next few years. From this list, pick the top five that are most important to you.

Now you have two lists and Buffett suggests you “avoid at all cost” the longer one. According to the business magnate, adding your second most important items into your focus only prevents big things from happening.

Whether it’s reflecting on mortality or getting rid of your wardrobe, the smartest people know that there’s never more time in the day--only better ways to manage your time through prioritizing. And if you’ve tried it all and still get sidetracked from what’s really important, it’s time to learn the most simple, yet effective way you can prioritize, SIMPLY SAY NO.

Now, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leader of the APC thinks he can sell Yorubas to this unrepentant tyrant (General Muhammadu Buhari) who refuses till today to apologise to the Yorubas for nearly wiping out all our leaders?

Buhari victimised, humiliated and dehumanised our leaders after he truncated democratic rule in 1983. He never touched one Hausa man then!

Victim 1 - Pa Awolowo had his house ransacked, passport seized he could not go abroad for medical treatment. His home in Ikenne was also surrounded by soldiers.

Victim 2 - Pa Adekunle Ajasin, former Gov, Ondo State Arrested, sentenced to over 100 years. Pa Ajasin is known not to have spent one kobo of
his security vote and had only one house to his name in his native Owo till his death.

Victim 3 - Pa Lateef Jakande, former Gov, Lagos State. Same as Pa Ajasin. Tried in kangaroo Court and sentenced to over 100 years imprisonment.

Victim 4 - Cicero, Bola Ige. former Gov, Oyo State. Sentenced to over 100 years on corruption charges.

Victim 5 - Papa Bisi Onabanjo former Gov, Ogun State. Jailed for over 100 years. Pa Onabanjo was whisked away from hospital where he was receiving treatment straight to prison on Buhari's instructions.

Do note that all the governors were found not guilty by Courts who tried them however Buhari demanded many retrials until a guilty verdict was reached for all of them by the Courts.


Victim 6 - Bisi Akande, former Gove. Jailed on corruption charges. Now, Akande and Buhari are together in the APC. Is Akande no longer corrupt, Buhari?

Victim 7 - Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Fela received 10 years for being vocal against Buhari's regime. Buhari said then, he has resolved to deal with the "fela problem"

Victim 8 - Ooni of Ife. Seized his passport and prevented him from travelling abroad.

Victim 9 - Tunde Thompson. Journalist jailed for reporting against government.

Victim 10 - Tai Solarin. Jailed for speaking against the govt. Ironically, what Solarin said/wrote then and was jailed for by
Buhari's regime is nothing compared to things Buhari says against the present government.

Victim 11 - Ayo Ojewunmi became blind in jail after Buhari blatantly refused to release him to get medical attention. He died soon after he was eventually released

Victim 12 - Busari Adelakun suffered same fate as Ojewunmi.
His ailment though was ulcer which killed him.

Victim 13 - The many many Yoruba youth slaughtered in the north in 2011 because Buhari lost the election. Buhari could have curbed the violence but waited for days before public opinion forced him to make a statement on radio condemning the violence.

He has prepared us now for 2015 by saying "their dogs and baboons will be soaked in blood" if he does not win the election in 2015.
...And this man will be in Osun to campaign for Aregbesola, his fellow Boko Haramist?

Ekiti rejected them on June 21. Osun People, reject APC, the BOKO HARAM Party on Saturday![size=24pt]

Last fortnight, we read about the move by a serving senator sponsoring a bill that would penalize critics of government with a seven year jail term. I found this notion so laughable that that I made the following post on Facebook.

From the time of John, the Baptist, jail has been the home of the astute and unrepentant critic.

Today, thankfully I now have a noble reason to go to jail. Or perhaps I will get mugged and have my legs fractured, or my life taken by “suspected armed robbers”. I really do not care.

And Why should I? When the so-called elders have their mouths so full of “come-chop” that they cannot speak against their handler.

Look friends, I am livid with anger at two things

The silence of society
The impudence of the present fayemi-led government with respect to public administration.
Last sunday, I read the dullest article ever put forth by the normally mentally-astute Tunde Fagbenle. I have been reading him for years, but last year, I noticed the leaven in his dough and pointed my brother’s attention to it. But he, an “away” Ekitiman, insisted that Fagbenle had not missed it.

Fagbenle for the past few years has written only in praise of APC governments and even recently, of Fayemi’s government. This I found to be the maddest hypocrisy of all.

Could this libel? Well, I am told by my nation’s constitution that “Fish always rots from the head”. In other words, leadership is responsible for failure of institutions.

How can my colleague die in an institution where Gov Fayemi just commissioned a set of ambulances supposedly equipped with mini-oxygen tanks?

How can Bunmi Apalowo die in the “best” (spare me) state-owned medical facility?

How can she die of lack of oxygen?

How can there NOT be oxygen available in an accredited Teaching Hospital?

Bunmi Adetunji underwent Caesarean Section (CS).

The operation was successful and she had a baby girl.

Few minutes after the operation, she began having difficulty breathing but there was no Resuscitator (OXYGEN) to assist her.

She died a few minutes later.

My son was born in a very small private clinic in 2009. I had asked permission to be present through the process. I remember him not breathing at time of birth. I also remember how that oxygen was administered and today he is a healthy young lad.

Today it makes me shudder to imagine what might have happened IF (God forbid) there had been no oxygen present at my son’s birth.

My point is, if the only doctor in a very small Maternity Clinic could afford to have oxygen in place, then Mr Fayemi must explain to me, and to Mrs Apalowo’s family WHY the very amenity that we elected him to have in place should be lacking unto the very death of a citizen under his watch.

I hear Olubunmi Adetunji is the 5th patient to be lost in Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado-Ekiti in the last THREE WEEKs due to of lack of OXYGEN.

Where is the oxygen?

Where are the allocations to EKSUTH?

Where is the Medical Director of EKSUTH?

Where is the Commissioner for Health?

Where is this farce of a leader who seeks a second term at the expense of precious life?


EKSUTH has no functional OXYGEN plant. Yet, Mr Fayemi claims to have spent over N600m on Health Mission, in which Paracetamol, Toothpaste, Sunlight Soap, Cotton Bud, etc are distributed.

People are dying daily because of lack of Resuscitator. Yet, Mr Fayemi is building a New Government House allegedly worth between 4 to 6 billion naira.

EKSUTH has no functional OXYGEN. Yet Mrs Fayemi is said to have donated a building worth N150m to OAU, Ile-Ife and spent over N50m in receiving YEYE AJISEYE chieftaincy title.

Look, I am not after Fayemi, neither am I against his wife receiving a chieftancy title.

I only have questions,

……which if unanswered will turn into allegations,

……………………………which if undefended will turn into the biggest sandstorm in his political career.

My Questions are as follows:

According to RMAFC, Ekiti State is one of the most indebted states in the nation with present debts running into the region of 35 billion naira. Gov Fayemi, what did you spend the money on. We are told you met a debt of under 6 billion from the past administration.

As Chief Security Officer of the state, and as learned as we are told that you are, I expect that you know that health security is also covered by the oath that you made, why has health suffered under your watch to the extent that the state-owned TEACHING HOSPITAL should be lacking in such common things as Oxygen?

If indeed (as all selfless leaders should think) health is a priority, why is your multi-billion naira government house project more important to you -when it is not even guaranteed that you will inhabit the place?
