TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Wokeyim(f): 10:18pm On Dec 25, 2015
Hello all. How true is it that Canadian embassy does not give visa to people without travel history. Hubby and I plan to travel next year for a holiday during our annual leave. We will also use the opportunity to attend the graduation ceremony of his younger sister. What are our chances of being given visa under the following circumstances;
1. We hope to be away for two weeks.
2. We have two kids but won't be going with them
3. We both work here in Nigeria
4. We hope to get a letter from his younger sister inviting us to her graduation ceremony.
5. Our passports are fresh. We have never travelled out before.
What is our chance of being given the visa and how many entries/how long may be given us?

Thanks for the replies. I was made to understand that most clinics will have the woman fly back the very next day as this minimizes the risks.
HealthRe: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by Wokeyim(f): 10:24pm On Oct 21, 2015
Good evening Mamas. I want to know if it is safe to fly immediately after an IVF treatment and how immediate?

A friend is weighing her options. She wants to do her IVF in Dubai but is scared about how safe it is to fly back to Nigeria with a few days pregancy, since she will have to resume work not long after.

Thanks every one for the encouragement. @ Zaynie, I know girls are sweet when all grown up. My mum had five and two have just been rallying around me to assist since I got home this morning. I love my sisters, just that there is always this feeling to have some balance in the family.

And I wish you, "Soonest" and all my other October Mamas a sail smoother than mine during delivery, Amen.

FamilyRe: Why Do Nigerian Parents Shy Away From Adoption So Much? by Wokeyim(f): 9:53pm On Oct 09, 2015
I see nothing wrong with adoption and i'm seriously looking that route in future. I really do not care about what people will have to say anyway because people will always have something to say.

Hubby is not too comfy with the idea but I still have a lot of time to work on him. Giving a homeless child life and love is the best thing one can do on earth and as a poster said if we can bring home and train our relatives kids, why can't we do same for a child who even really has nowhere else to turn to?

Dear poster, I'm sorry about your plight. Pls read this post I just came across. Also, if adoption is too rigorous for you, try down south. For instance, it may be easier for you to adopt in Akwa-Ibom state you mentioned, if you hail from there.

Also, I know it's very difficult for you but try to keep your mind away from what people will say. People will always talk; no matter what you do or achieve in life.

I sent you a PM, please reply. All the best oh.

Babe! It was anaemia in late pregnancy. As soon as they corrected the anaemia and i had reached term, the practice is to induce and bring out the baby. Reason being they don't know what reduces the pcv and they wouldn't want it to go down again before labour.
Sorry for the long explanation
Ok, I get it now. Thank God you and baby came out fine.

No need to be scared. Yes induction is painful but then it's faster all things being equal. In my last preg i was induced at 37weeks. Induction started by 7am and i gave birth 10am. It was very painful mainly towards the end when they increased the drip to 64drops per min. After delivery i felt so strong and was walking up n down dat d nurses had to ask dat i remain on my bed till they say otherwise. I was later discharged dat same day. This was d opposite in my 1st where i suffered for long. Pls if u will b induced ask alot of questions from d beginning to the end. Drs are very positively cautious when dealing with women dat r knowledgeable and ask alot of questions. All the best
What happened that you were induced as early as 37weeks? Just curious because I thought inducement is usually done when one has passed her EDD?

Yes the digital is pretty much same as the monitor in tracking ovulation just that the digital shows smiley face to indicate O while the monitor gives u low, high and peak readings. And to your second question, yes anytime you run out of the 10 sticks you have to buy a new pack again which contains the reader and d sticks. If u have anyone in the uk just tell them to help you buy the sticks for your monitor, It's cheaper and comes in packs of 20,30,40 sticks...... Although the cheapest and MOST accurate way of tracking ovulation is through BBT charting with fertility friend.com, I've saved money on sticks by using this method. Nett pharmacy is inside shoprite mall where I live.
Thanks so much Mandy. I won't mind learning more about the BBT charting. Please can you send me an email at ... so we can talk more from there? Thanks and expecting your email.

@sugah ur welcome but I don't quite agree with ur doctor concerning hyper stimulation cos OHSS is very rare in clomid cycles and if it were, there should be plenty big follicles except he's saying you've already ovulated?

@ Wokeyim I use the Clearblue monitor but I never got the refill test sticks to buy in nigeria so I got the Clearblue digital that comes with a small reader and 7 or 10 sticks in the box from nett pharmacy but it was like 9k which is pricey IMO....
Thanks Mandydaisy. The clear blue digital you use, does it perform the same function with the ovulation kit,as in used for tracking ovulation? Also, does it mean anytime I run out of the 10sticks i'll have to buy a new digital again? Where is nett pharmacy please?
HealthRe: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Wokeyim(f): 9:57am On Aug 27, 2015
Good morning Mamas in the house. I'm about to buy off a clear blue ovulation test kit from someone but I don't know where one can get the strips for testing in Lagos.

Please anyone that has an idea where I can get the strips should let me know. I've called Health plus in Lekki but they only sell the strips for pregnancy test. Thanks.

Present Ma oh.

Good afternoon pushing mamas, how una dey? I thank God for today oh and for our condition, he who started it with us will definitely see us to the end Amen. I had leg cramps on my left leg during early pregnancy that never left. Then it spread to my second leg like last month and as at this morning it wants to spread to under my tummy. I never see this kain style before oh and Doctor keeps telling me it's the weight of my baby. I don get walking stick keep for house sef because sometimes its like i cant even move an inch, esp after standing for a while, like when i have to cook. I don tell them for office say I go soon dey use walking stick because they all laugh at my walking steps now.

Doctor finally gave me a lotion last week to be applying morning and night and it kind of relieves me only when i use it oh. Most times, na only once in a day (at night) i go use am because DH must have left the house before i've had my bath and there will be no one to help me apply it. This means limping to and from work through out that day oh. I'm seriously counting down, can't wait to be normal again.

Pbob:
Dear all, I am new to this thread just had my CVS done on Wednesday and waiting for the result.yes the test also reveals the sex of the foetus.
Hello Pbob, have you gotten your test results yet. How did the results go, hope fine?

@ Iduzebaba, I think your brother and his wife should visit the clinic first. I believe they will put them through some counselling so they'll know whether they really want to do the test or not. Depending on the results, they can take it up from there. All the best, you may want to let us know how it goes later.

Spend some real money like 500,000.00naira and let the doctor select the sex of your child/children by invitro

since you are spending that kind of money order for 3 boys and 1 girl but i like 3 girls and 1 boy jare
Do you know any body this has worked for in Nigeria? Also do you know any hospital(s) one can do sex selection in Lagos?
