FoodRe: Why On Earth Are 'maggi' Cubes So Hard? by Wokeyim(f): 3:51pm On Dec 09, 2011
U can choose to melt the cubes in a little water (preferably hot water) in a bowl and then turn it into what you are cooking. The cubes are usually hard when you just buy them but once they begin to get old or have been exposed to air, they become softer.

Good luck.

RomanceRe: Will U Accept A Man Younger Than You? by Wokeyim(f): 9:47am On Oct 24, 2011
I do not think I can date a Guy who is younger than I am, the respect just won't be there. Maybe it's coz I started dating and got married early as well, but I do prefer Men who are older with at least 6years, the limit will have been 15years age difference sha, lol. I guess it's coz I feel mature men have seen it all, are likely to pet their ladies more and have less tendency to cheat. Plus you know what they say about Women ageing faster than Men - in the long run,

Ever been to a salon to loosen a hairdo that wasn't made in that salon, then you know what I'm talking about. They'll so whine and wail while loosening the hair telling you how the person who made it used too much thread, sewed the hair wrongly, used a fake weave-on etc.

BusinessRe: Best Nigerian Bank? by Wokeyim(f): 11:21am On Jun 28, 2009
BTT:
the idea of 'best bank in nigeria' is too ambiguous. a bank can be assessed based on certain criterias ranging from
customer service experience,
Value on services& products (charges/rates),
technological advancement,
international economic participation,
credit policies,
internal control (and book keeping),
social responsibility
staff welfare,
market share,
customer base,
shareholders fund . . . the list goes on and on.

believe you me, all 24 banks in nigeria have their specs (i cant try that lengthy discourse here).

My advise.
Stay with the bank that is designed (or can redesign) to meet your banking needs.

As for me, Zenith meets my expectations 100%, then maybe Access bank. only i dont like the way they treat their staff
Please expatiate on what you mean by the way they treat their staff.

BusinessRe: Best Nigerian Bank? by Wokeyim(f): 9:51pm On Jun 26, 2009
Hi Guys, methinks Access Bank is one of the best Banks around now and I wonder why no one is saying it here. Try and visit one of their branches - especially in Lagos and experience customer service at its best.

I agree that GTB leads but Access is second to GTB and so one of the few best banks around. The MD and GMD of Access left from GTB and so they have about thesame orientation with GTB. Most of their processes are fashioned like GTB's. That Access scatters ATMs aroung is a big fallacy; like GTB, they control the spread of their ATMs, just like they control the spread of their branches. You know banking is not all about spreading branches everywhere, even GTB realizes that! In this economic crunch, most banks almost lost it with having too many branches and so too many Staff to pay. Some Banks slashed Staff salaries; but Access will never do a thing like that. We also know that a smart pupil can learn so well that he becomes sharper than his Teacher!

If you want technology, Access has it too. Access was the first bank to issue out visa credit cards in Nigeria - an ATM card that allows you deposit in your naira account but withdraw in any currency and in any part of the world. Access has branches in six African countries and a branch in the UK. Try and visit their website to learn more. Access has a very young and dynamic leadership and so the results are speed when it comes to decision making. it's just that the bank isn't noisy as it believes that its deeds, and not words should speak for it. The Bank isn't loud at all and because of this, its clientele is mostly top shots in Nigeria. Note that Access is one of the best paying banks in Nigeria now. I've had a personal relationship with Access and I think someone out there should try and experience it too then revert back to me.

Guys, go Access, goo Acess, goo Access!!!

FamilyYou Earn More Than Your Hussy, What Next? by Wokeyim(op): 3:18pm On Apr 13, 2009
In these days of female emancipation and liberation, we find more Ladies out there working, rather than doing menial and kitchen jobs as it used to be. In some cases, the woman earns better than her hubby and in some homes, she actually pays the bills!

Some people believe that this does affect the relationship negatively, especially the Manś ego. Nairalanders, what are your opinions on this? Guys, will you date/marry a Lady who earns a better pay than you do?

LiteratureRe: Your Contribution Urgently Needed by Wokeyim(f): 1:36pm On Aug 07, 2008
Both are correct depending on the voice tone and punctuation marks. You either say "Guess how old she is" as a statement or Guess, how old is she?"
The comma in the second indicates a pause and so a change in intonation and stress. Stress will be on the word "Guess" in the second one. And yes, like Mactao said, the first will not have a question mark, it's just a statement, the second will have a pause after "Guess" and a question mark. That leads you on how to intone the two sentences.

@wokeyim,madam,no vex.since its a big deal and people haven't been doing it.u're actually the 1st.enjoy! yes i agree that in some cases some people are retained.is going 4 service a criteria?naija is a place where u have 2 know somebody at the top to find a place, incase u are from space.service is no big deal because its not luck or chance,u'll definitely go 4 service if u meet up,u leave school when your mates are,ok? or beta still dull till it's your child's turn then your age will be screaming.get my point!
What is wrong with a thread for corpers to identify themselves, and who is ásking you if its a big deal or not? There are threads asking people to locate their birthday mates, threads where people locate those from their state and all that. So what is wrong with a thread like this if not for your bad-belle. Service is not a big deal - agreed. Serve first, let's see if it's a big deal or not. You think having a call-up number is all there is to service. For your information, people get de-mobilized on camp and even few weeks to the end of their service year. If this thread is so unimportant, then I can't fathom out what keeps bringing you here, little Miss.

naija is a place where u have 2 know somebody at the top to find a place, incase u are from space.

My dear, it's not always that way, except you are from Mars! There are still places and cases whre people have got jobs purely on merit in this country where we both live. You can as well use your connections to start working with your call-up letter. You don't even need to report in camp! One advice to yoü: Dont live your life depending on people but on God, circumstances do change, and can change in the twist of a finger. I have experiences.

u leave school when your mates are,ok? or beta still dull till it's your child's turn then your age will be screaming.get my point!

Holy Moses, Brother of Aaron! You probably think you are younger than me. Then you are in for a very big surprise! If I wanted to reveal my age on nairaland, I wont need to wait for a thread like this to do that. Wake up. you're not watching some holly-wood cartoon here. NYSC is for youths under 30, so there is no way a mother and child can serve at the same time.

nomanicole:
@wokeyim, your own achievements 4 one year is all over the papers!plsssssssssssss, its like u never imagined u'll go 4 service
Oh yes, I never imagined I'll go for service when I did. That is because I happened to graduate in good time with my mates, and with the whole long process of NYSC, we were told we wont be mobilized because they had to deal with left-overs from previous years and there were no funds to accomodate so many corpers. So those of us who just left school were asked to wait for another 6months. Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for you, Yar 'Adua, who just came into power then, ordered that all graduates eligible to serve should be mobilized! So everyone, including fresh graduates like us, were mobilized. You see, I had thought I'll serve later than I did.

Once again, this thread is meant for corps members, and bad-belles like you are unqualified to be here so just peace out and let's live. Don't bother replying, because I aint coming here to read you anymore!
RomanceRe: Relationships: When Is The Right Time To Insist On A Hiv Test? by Wokeyim(op): 12:08pm On Aug 07, 2008
@ bonebaba
Some acting like some primitive character or else you will be deceiving yourself.
Nobody who's got the virus will tell you he has it, and you will never know until it gets full-blown. Besides, these days there is treatment for the virus so It doesnt kill those who discover their status on time and start treatment.

I know four other people that have died of HIV, besides the case of the flirtateous lady who got married and died after childbirth, which I mentioned in this post earlier on. Then I know someone who is living with the virus to date - he even got married and has a baby who is still alive - I hear these days Doctors know how to stop mother-child transmission of the virus.

@ Others
I know there are other tests that need to be done besides HIV test. But as it regards timing, I think the two most important tests one should do once you enter into a relationship are HIV and genotype tests. This is because the status in these two tests cannot be changed, but the status can change people's lives. For instance, I can't say I wont marry Mr. A because he's got syphillis or some STD that can be treated, but knowing your partner's HIV status can decide if you will marry him or if you want the relationship in the first place. You can't meet a guy today and ask him to go run fertility tests, general tests with you. He'll think: "Oh, she already thinks I must marry her." And if it's from a guy to a girl, the girl will probably think the guy is set to do "I do" the following day. So while there are some tests that need to wait till the wedding period, or till you have got to know each other better, those two tests are necessary before u even start the relationship. Imagine dating a guy for four years before going to run a genotype test, only to discover you're both AS or SS!
RomanceRe: Relationships: When Is The Right Time To Insist On A Hiv Test? by Wokeyim(op): 3:40pm On Aug 06, 2008
@ topup
running a test with someone doesnt in any way tie you down to the person. It should be part of the start of any relationship. The fact that Mr. A and Miss B. did a HIV test doesnt mean they must marry each other. It only means they'll feel freer with each other during their relationship. Or pls, let me understand you.

@ Karmamod
Yes Oh. My mum was happy I did what I did. She was only unhappy that she got to know about my boyfriend from some-one else, not me. But I had to establish certain things about our relationship - including a HIV test - before running to introduce him to my parents. Anyway, the woman even helped to make the introduction easier for us. grin grin grin
