Mind you, when you land, you will enter into a pact with the cold weather to take it easy on you. The cold is brutal! |

Babyvet: Like I said , government still pay for a good portion and yes the American government needs to work creating a less financially burdening system but I don't want it to be like the Uk or Canada. I have British passport and have the opportunity to take advantage of the nhs but I can not see myself ever living there again. Everyone should do what works for them. My sister had a baby in the US and she was billed like 15k usd... If not for her insurance, she would have coughed out that much. Whereas, you walk in to NHS, and carry your baby out;the midwives would even be begging to rate their services. I know which I will pick! |

Ralphlauren: whch of the amex cards are you applying for? is it one of the platinum cards? the platinum card, gold card, etc have stricter eligibility criteria.
my application was straight forward (applied online) and I wasn't asked for additional info.
give it another 6 months and try again Gold card bawo... I never reach that level o. Na the British Airways basic one... Can't remember the name now. After that I applied for the Costco one. I'm just going to leave it next year Jan. to reapply. |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by wonlasewonimi: 5:35pm On Aug 02, 2018 |
Ralphlauren: hmmm. are you sure its not something to do with your postcode or are you declaring the 'minimum wage' which we contractors pay ourselves as your annual salary? amex has a high threshold for acceptance compared to other cards - usually declared earnings, excellent credit history and address history.
i have had the BA amex for a while now and i honestly think its one of the best CC cards out there. their reward scheme has been fab as family vacations have been cheaper. with 10k annual spend on the black card, you get 2 for 1 voucher to travel to almost any destination in the world (depending on seat availability). with the blue card, its 20k annual spend. the airmiles too are generous and I have been able to book reward flights.
started with about £3400 limit and i am currently on around £14k.
my first CC was a capital one card with a limit of £200 Which i used for 3 months before cutting up the card but leaving the account open with no further use and then calling them about a year later to close the account. i did this to build my credit history and it worked. They asked me how much I make I gave them the real figure cos I wanted it badly. I gave them my bank account details cos they asked for it. They didn't give me immediate decision. After about 5 days, they came back with the refusal. I am just giving it time, I will reapply. They don't know naija don't take no for an answer. |

erico2k2: I know the are very protective of their bloody card, not that it is cheap, I took it cos it gives huge credit limit, I got up to 30K on mine. Its not accepted in loads of places though. MasterCard is accepted worldwide. I wanted it because of the British Airways airmiles I can use to rack up. Also, the ability to use most airport lounges. Bro 30k would be too much for me... There's a devil within credit card.! |
