Nigerian Police should be arriving to pick up the dead bodies of armed robbers. We'll solve the issue of security to a reasonable extent.

They need to legalize guns for responsible citizens.
I attached a pic of the property of one of our governors. It's in United States and worth a cool 989,700 dollars. Is he an armed robber?

Thanks for the feed back world ambassador.
The bull market didnr last long enough..lol.
So united capital has an online trading platform?
Is it possible to have several stock brokers trading or overseeing my shares at the same time, does it mean i have to pay the 2500 naira annually for several cscs acounts to be able to see my shares online for confirmation. I guess the brokers will be in a better position to explain when i call them. Thanks again.
I only pay one fee to CSCS online and I view all my stocks on the Exchange regardless of whether it is in my Morgan or United Capital account. United Capital has an online trading platform via investnow.ng. My brother, the Bull market didnt last long sad

Hello smart guys of this forum, I am away from the country often and was hoping to get a better broker who will offer me online trading of my stocks. I was thinking about morgan capital, perhaps apt securities or meristem. Please who can offer me advice on the best broker to use. My main concern is online trading of my stocks by myself on a reliable platform, I keep hearing negative stories about morgan capital deducting money, they were also suspended last year. You opinion is highly welcomed.

@Ifeann. I use Morgan Capital but I also use United Capital as a backup. Morgan has one of the lowest commissions and United Capital has a minimum of N50,000 to open an Individual Stock Account. You will need a Utility Bill(from Nigeria or from abroad) to open up an account. Welcome back to 9ja..and to the Bull Market

Dangote Industry Limited own 91% of the company, Dangote's friends, family and top management of Dangote group own another 7%.

The amount available for trading is just 2%. If Dangote and other insiders should reduce their total holdings to 70%, except the share price of the company to plummet.

It is a good company, but I am not sure if it is selling at a good price.
@emmanuelewumi. That means the stock is prone to serious price manipulation by the insiders that own 91%. Wow!! that's a shocker and that means Alh. Dangote runs his companies like a private company.

The Central Bank of Nigeria on Friday said it intervened in the crisis between Etisalat and a consortium of 13 Nigerian banks over a syndicated loan of about $1.2bn granted the telecom company to save over 4,000 jobs and stripping of the company’s assets. The CBN Spokesperson, Mr. Isaac Okorafor, said this in a statement on Friday. He said, “Although it should ordinarily not be the role of a regulator to decide how individual bad loans are resolved, the CBN believes that Etisalat is a systemically important telecommunications company with over 20 million subscribers that, if not well handled, may have negative implications for the banking system itself.” He further explained that the CBN and Nigerian Communications Commission had suspected that banks might go ahead in the usual way and downsize the company’s over 4,000 staff, adding that this was why they reached an agreement to intervene. He said both regulators implored the consortium of banks to re-assess its position in dealing with Etisalat
This is as reported by ThisDay Newspaper.Etisalat Group, last Tuesday, announced at the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, its intention to pull out of the Etisalat Nigeria structure, and approved transfer of its entire 45 per cent shares in Etisalat to the United Capital Trustees Limited, the legal representative to the consortium of banks. United Capital is the security trustee, which is the vehicle employed by the banks to hold the shares on behalf of the consortium.

It is not right that the parent company of Etisalat(Nig.) in the United Arab Emirates should borrow $1.2 billion from 13 Nigerian banks without any intention of paying it back. In the U.S.,they encourage big-time foreign investors to come to invest(as long as they're willing to invest at least $500,000 of their OWN money, they are given the green light{a visa} to come in and invest). The banking industry just got out of a Bear market and we don't want them to collapse because of exposure to huge loans by a foreign investor.

You don't want to be tracked thru the personal details you may innocuously leave on the thread. But did you see the kidnapper's house? A nairalander could've built such a magnificent house without knowing that he was building it for a devilish kidnapper and sociopath.

I quite very much agree with you

But I still think the system abroad helps a lot

You don't have to put your cash down to buy many stuff once you have good credit standing
@ kolnel. I agree with you my brother. I think if the government steps in and guarantees loans for contractors and builders, they will purchase these mechanized equipment which will lead to cost savings for the clients and contractors as well. The lack of adequate collateral(and other factors) make it difficult to access some of these loans. The United States and other Western countries have a good credit system that enable the average person to buy things they cannot ordinarily afford. Oga Hajj and Oga Egun pls verify this-I stand to be corrected.

Bro. Analysts at AFRINVEST who are one of the top investment houses in the country are advising their clients to sell the FBNH as shown in the attachment below. They place its intrinsic value at less than N4.5 despite the things we see and warns that it will loose more than 10% of its value in a jiffy.

I saw all these b4 i decided and ported to dangoteflour. I have given Dangote a task grin . A return of N20m+ expected else i sack him.
I don't always believe these stock analysts. Case in point-read the disclaimer at the bottom of their report. It says that AFRINVEST may have an interest in some of these companies. They may choose to promote companies that pay them a fee at a detriment to others who do not pay a fee.

Good afternoon sirs. Please I lost track of the shares I purchased in 2007 to 09. Please is there any way I can search with my name to know if I purchased a given company's shares. Secondly, for the companies I am sure I bought, but can't have their certificate, or dividend, is there a way I can get the share account no? Thanks for responding
One way to search is to go to the SEC-sponsored website at https://u-ediv.investoreducation.gov.ng/,then type in your first name and last name and press 'search.' The Search results will pull up your name, account number, Registrar and name of the companies you invested in(assuming that you have unclaimed dividends). You can then proceed to contact the Registrar for advice on how you can dematerialize your shares.

I doubt if timber trusses can be phased out, because of research works to continually reduce the cost of housing. Timbers are cheaper than steel for sure, but the kind of member employed depends,to a large extent, on the nature of load and forces the trusses is to withstand. Also the spans between dividing column members also instigate choice of roof truss material.

Hooe you're good
Using steel is still a welcome idea smileyIt probably will eliminate the issue of termites and warping of wood that we see from the types of wood that we use to support our roof. The cost will definitely be prohibitive, especially in our country that rely 100% on importation. But Oga Spyder and jayooh, i'm all for using roofing materials that'll be stronger and lead to a more stable structure.

That is the old way of doing it. I also did the same with little success grin grin
Now, NIBBS has simplify it,you can start all over again just like I did.
Go to your bank and tell them you want to register for e dividend. Complete the form and wait. If your bank does its job, in less than two weeks you will get a message from NIBSS that you have been registered.
The old way still works smiley if your Broker's office is not too far, I suggest you drop off the completed forms with them and give them a little money to submit to your Registrar on your behalf. I have used NIPOST before without success, so now I either go to my Broker or use courier service like DHL, but courier services charge from N3800 to deliver, but you get a tracking number.

Pls advice, I got from the news yesterday night that from september 2017 most shareholders not registered with cscs or e-dividend will have to forfeit their shares
I have so many share certificates, most were bought for me by family members and are usually in their minimum units but when you look at the process for dematerilization and edividend registeration,It is really not worth it with all the affidavict, indemnity and fuel that u waste running about....Is there no way to reduce the cost of all this paper work especially for those that purchased minimum units back then.....This day I just feel it would have been better for my popsi to have bought beer for his guys instead of buying stock back then....Imagine, I still get Afribank, intercontinental, transcorp, abc certificate
I don't think there is a law that states you will forfeit your Shares/ownership if you fail to register for edividend. To minimize costs what I did was go to the Registrar's website, download the edividend forms, fill them out and have them endorsed by my bank, then I posted it to the Registrar's address with a copy of my driver's license. I followed up with the Registrar's by email in 2 weeks. You can always dematerialize later when you have more funds available. I believe that you cannot sell your shares unless you dematerialize, but you can still get edividend credited to your bank account even if you have a Share Certificate. Hope this helps.

@Mufutau55, @Spyder880, @EgunMogaji, @rotecch77, @Gbadexy.etc. Please help with this dilemma. My project has been plastered inside and outside, and the internal & external doors, casement windows, burglary proof, floor tiles, & plumbing have all been installed. For the next stage of work, which one should I do first, Surface wiring or Painting? I'm confused because I have some people who say painting should be done first, then surface wiring, and I have people who have advised me otherwise. Thanks.

I thought you had to treat water from a borehole. Looks like its not compulsory, only when the water has issues?
Where I live, I guess people are happy to get water from a borehole(as opposed to fetching water from the stream, or paying for a tanker to deliver water). A lot of people do not treat water from the borehole. Some probably boil the water before drinking.

Sorry to say this, there in nothing called MEDIUM YEILD from my experience. That was where my predicament started, with this so called medium yield. The first driller, our agreement was to drill 60 meters according to the report. He drilled between 38 and 40 meters and he hit water. Unfortunately I later found out his machine could not drill through the rock above the 40 meters. He stopped and told me that it was a medium yield. Everyday we tried, he pumped for half hour with low pressure and it stopped pumping. We did this back and forth for over 2 months arguing about pump and generator. He told me that the generator had no power to pump. He made over 30 appointments in between 2 months and only showed up twice. I finally made up my mind and told him I am ready to pay all over again and that was when he opened up, and introduce me to the driller. That could drill it with the right equipment, it took about 2 days to get the guys to the site. In 4 hours their machine blasted through the rock, hit the water aquifer. I stopped them at 70 meters, according to my average calculation between the two tests that I did. The total length of the borehole 70 meters pumping depth is 46 meters laid out pipes to the tower is about another 16 meters. The total pumping length is about 62 meters. We were able to pump 5000 liters in exactly 1 hour with high pressure pumping in every 4 hours . Enclosed is a result of the first medium yield pumping at 38-40 meters.

@Kopell. To buttress your point, I don't think there is anything called medium yield BoreHole either. I called in an independent geologist(before drilling) to do an investigation on my site(on a rocky hill) a few weeks ago. I attached his geological report. His findings indicated a low yield and high yield. To get low yield waterflow at my site, the borehole has to dug to a depth of 97 meters(300 feet!) and a high yield water flow meant that the borehole must be at a depth of 184.86m (600 feet!!). The geologist made it clear to me that if I go for the low yield, that I will encounter a high iron content in the water(from the borehole at 300 feet) and it will most likely dry up in the Dry season.

My driller(because I had complained about cost) pushed me to go for the low yield(97 meters depth)borehole. I just decided not to drill anymore because I didn't want to get disappointed at 97 meters and I cannot afford to dig a borehole to a depth of 184 meters(600 feet). Furthermore, another independent hydro-geologist told me that the iron content in the water may discolour the water or lead to proliferation of bacteria since bacteria thrive on iron. This may necessitate the addition of a water treatment equipment to be installed at my site(More expenses for me). My take on all this is that digging a borehole is not always feasible in every location.

I am creating a thread here by middle of next week about one "Borehole Expert" who I paid to do my borehole and even gave him bonus after finishing the borehole but the borehole turned out to be nothing but nightmare.

I have been patient enough with him. The borehole only lasted a little over 4 hours since we started using it before it parked up. The said nairalander has been promising to fix the problem for almost a month now without fixing it. I have rebuffed all of his request to give him another money to go to my site to fix the mess.
If I paid someone 500,000 Naira for Borehole and gave him 30,000 Naira bonus after you claimed you finished the job and my borehole is the best in town and this said borehole only lasted over 4 hours in operation, then this person is nothing but an heartless human being. This same person told me if the said borehole should have a single problem within the first year, I should contact him immediately and he will be there immediately to fix it.

I should be creating a thread with details of evidence of promises that never happened.

I know the person reads this thread very well. Hence my post here.

I am not playing with him but he thinks this is a play.

@FastShipping
I think all shady contractors who do substandard work should be called out to prevent someone else from falling victim. Sorry that it happened to you. I wish that every contractor would keep their word or back up their work with warranty.

I had always marveled when I saw this kind of cars used in movies. It was a thril way back in Snoop Dogs videos. A lot of work went into these modification's and I bet also top dollars to get things done. For me the closest I got to experiencing this hydrolic phenomenon was in the 80's at Ibadan where a neighbor had a Renault (not sure of the model) angry that "elevated" every morning before he went out and went to "sleep" at night when he returned.

We kids around would yearn to see him once he started up the car in the morning just to see the magic car rise. Oh...what a feeling! grin we never got to see it "sleep"though..neighbor was a baller and or hard worker as he always came back way past our bedtime! angry angry

Omo..I no lie I dreamed of that car flying ooo...

OK..back to the matter.. but for naija roads na suicide .......for the moto oo. Yes Abuja and some other cities with good roads can host cars like this and won't be surprised if Dino Melaye has a lowrider in his garage lipsrsealed
oblo, what you said made me flashback to the 80s. Our neighbor used to have a Citreon with a hydropneumatic suspension that 'rose' after he started it. As kids, we also used to come outside to watch him start his car, see the lift, then watch him take off to work...those were the good ol' days.
