EgunMogaji:I attached a pic of the property of one of our governors. It's in United States and worth a cool 989,700 dollars. Is he an armed robber?

toxxnoni:@Astrogeotech. Pls clarify. By installation, do you just dig the foundation to install the overhead tank? or do you construct the scaffolding for an overhead tank? If you do the welding, construction and all, please give me a quote for a 40-feet overhead tank with 4mm H beams. Thanks. |
Ifeann:I only pay one fee to CSCS online and I view all my stocks on the Exchange regardless of whether it is in my Morgan or United Capital account. United Capital has an online trading platform via investnow.ng. My brother, the Bull market didnt last long ![]() |
emmanuelewumi:@emmanuelewumi. 98% is even worse. And coming to think of it, Alh. Dangote was just the past president of the Stock Exchange. He should know better. |
Ifeann:@Ifeann. I use Morgan Capital but I also use United Capital as a backup. Morgan has one of the lowest commissions and United Capital has a minimum of N50,000 to open an Individual Stock Account. You will need a Utility Bill(from Nigeria or from abroad) to open up an account. Welcome back to 9ja..and to the Bull Market |
emmanuelewumi:@emmanuelewumi. That means the stock is prone to serious price manipulation by the insiders that own 91%. Wow!! that's a shocker and that means Alh. Dangote runs his companies like a private company. |
ihedioramma:This is as reported by ThisDay Newspaper.Etisalat Group, last Tuesday, announced at the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, its intention to pull out of the Etisalat Nigeria structure, and approved transfer of its entire 45 per cent shares in Etisalat to the United Capital Trustees Limited, the legal representative to the consortium of banks. United Capital is the security trustee, which is the vehicle employed by the banks to hold the shares on behalf of the consortium. It is not right that the parent company of Etisalat(Nig.) in the United Arab Emirates should borrow $1.2 billion from 13 Nigerian banks without any intention of paying it back. In the U.S.,they encourage big-time foreign investors to come to invest(as long as they're willing to invest at least $500,000 of their OWN money, they are given the green light{a visa} to come in and invest). The banking industry just got out of a Bear market and we don't want them to collapse because of exposure to huge loans by a foreign investor. |
erico2k2:That's why it's important to stay anonymous on an online forum like this, especially on the Properties and Investments Forum. You don't want to be tracked thru the personal details you may innocuously leave on the thread. But did you see the kidnapper's house? A nairalander could've built such a magnificent house without knowing that he was building it for a devilish kidnapper and sociopath. |
skimmer01:Great job boss. Love the plastering and the roof gutters/downspouts used to channel rain water too. |
kolnel:@ kolnel. I agree with you my brother. I think if the government steps in and guarantees loans for contractors and builders, they will purchase these mechanized equipment which will lead to cost savings for the clients and contractors as well. The lack of adequate collateral(and other factors) make it difficult to access some of these loans. The United States and other Western countries have a good credit system that enable the average person to buy things they cannot ordinarily afford. Oga Hajj and Oga Egun pls verify this-I stand to be corrected. |
HungerBAD:the news is like wildfire in the Gainesville area( a few hours north of Dallas, Texas). Check out the link http://www.gainesville.com/news/20170524/police-teen-detains-santa-fe-prof-begs-to-make-up-exam Can't hate the guy though-he just wanted a better grade, though his actions may have been a little forceful and intimidating. |
Cadillac15:I don't always believe these stock analysts. Case in point-read the disclaimer at the bottom of their report. It says that AFRINVEST may have an interest in some of these companies. They may choose to promote companies that pay them a fee at a detriment to others who do not pay a fee. |
MissShakara:One way to search is to go to the SEC-sponsored website at https://u-ediv.investoreducation.gov.ng/,then type in your first name and last name and press 'search.' The Search results will pull up your name, account number, Registrar and name of the companies you invested in(assuming that you have unclaimed dividends). You can then proceed to contact the Registrar for advice on how you can dematerialize your shares. |
jayooh:Using steel is still a welcome idea It probably will eliminate the issue of termites and warping of wood that we see from the types of wood that we use to support our roof. The cost will definitely be prohibitive, especially in our country that rely 100% on importation. But Oga Spyder and jayooh, i'm all for using roofing materials that'll be stronger and lead to a more stable structure. |
pluto09:The old way still works if your Broker's office is not too far, I suggest you drop off the completed forms with them and give them a little money to submit to your Registrar on your behalf. I have used NIPOST before without success, so now I either go to my Broker or use courier service like DHL, but courier services charge from N3800 to deliver, but you get a tracking number. |
44chux:Thanks. I think i'll either have the electrician remove the socket outlets and switches and put them back after painting, or have the painter mask the outlets or switches. I guess the better option will depend on the cost. |
gbadexy:Thanks @gbadexy. |
rotecch77:Thanks |
twinskenny:Thanks for your tip. The house has been plastered inside and out..and it is a rental, so to avoid issues, i'll do surface wiring |
the next stage as you explained the project is surface wiring, painting is the last thing then general cleaning and fumigation. Thanks |

maishai:I don't think there is a law that states you will forfeit your Shares/ownership if you fail to register for edividend. To minimize costs what I did was go to the Registrar's website, download the edividend forms, fill them out and have them endorsed by my bank, then I posted it to the Registrar's address with a copy of my driver's license. I followed up with the Registrar's by email in 2 weeks. You can always dematerialize later when you have more funds available. I believe that you cannot sell your shares unless you dematerialize, but you can still get edividend credited to your bank account even if you have a Share Certificate. Hope this helps. |
@worldambassador. the next stage as you explained the project is surface wiring, painting is the last thing then general cleaning and fumigation. Thanks |
@Mufutau55, @Spyder880, @EgunMogaji, @rotecch77, @Gbadexy.etc. Please help with this dilemma. My project has been plastered inside and outside, and the internal & external doors, casement windows, burglary proof, floor tiles, & plumbing have all been installed. For the next stage of work, which one should I do first, Surface wiring or Painting? I'm confused because I have some people who say painting should be done first, then surface wiring, and I have people who have advised me otherwise. Thanks. |
Thanks. I got your pricelist for the cables |
WorldAmbassador:[quote author=topsy23 post=56293754]Are you referring to twin flat cable for surface wiring? Yes. It's for surface wiring |
topsy23:Hello sir, Please send prices for 14 coils of original Coleman, Purechem and Nigerchin products for 1.5mm twin, 1.0mm twin, 1.0mm single wire. I need to purchase these products for an ongoing project. My email address is j_okona@hotmail.com |
lorhema:Where I live, I guess people are happy to get water from a borehole(as opposed to fetching water from the stream, or paying for a tanker to deliver water). A lot of people do not treat water from the borehole. Some probably boil the water before drinking. |
kopell: @Kopell. To buttress your point, I don't think there is anything called medium yield BoreHole either. I called in an independent geologist(before drilling) to do an investigation on my site(on a rocky hill) a few weeks ago. I attached his geological report. His findings indicated a low yield and high yield. To get low yield waterflow at my site, the borehole has to dug to a depth of 97 meters(300 feet!) and a high yield water flow meant that the borehole must be at a depth of 184.86m (600 feet!!). The geologist made it clear to me that if I go for the low yield, that I will encounter a high iron content in the water(from the borehole at 300 feet) and it will most likely dry up in the Dry season. My driller(because I had complained about cost) pushed me to go for the low yield(97 meters depth)borehole. I just decided not to drill anymore because I didn't want to get disappointed at 97 meters and I cannot afford to dig a borehole to a depth of 184 meters(600 feet). Furthermore, another independent hydro-geologist told me that the iron content in the water may discolour the water or lead to proliferation of bacteria since bacteria thrive on iron. This may necessitate the addition of a water treatment equipment to be installed at my site(More expenses for me). My take on all this is that digging a borehole is not always feasible in every location.

[quote author=FastShipping post=56048774]cc: Hajj I am creating a thread here by middle of next week about one "Borehole Expert" who I paid to do my borehole and even gave him bonus after finishing the borehole but the borehole turned out to be nothing but nightmare. I have been patient enough with him. The borehole only lasted a little over 4 hours since we started using it before it parked up. The said nairalander has been promising to fix the problem for almost a month now without fixing it. I have rebuffed all of his request to give him another money to go to my site to fix the mess. If I paid someone 500,000 Naira for Borehole and gave him 30,000 Naira bonus after you claimed you finished the job and my borehole is the best in town and this said borehole only lasted over 4 hours in operation, then this person is nothing but an heartless human being. This same person told me if the said borehole should have a single problem within the first year, I should contact him immediately and he will be there immediately to fix it. I should be creating a thread with details of evidence of promises that never happened. I know the person reads this thread very well. Hence my post here. I am not playing with him but he thinks this is a play. @FastShipping I think all shady contractors who do substandard work should be called out to prevent someone else from falling victim. Sorry that it happened to you. I wish that every contractor would keep their word or back up their work with warranty. |
EgunMogaji:Wow@EgunMogaji & oblo. That's the car i was talking about with the rear tire partially covered by the car's body. Thanks for the pics~memories. Thinking about it, the guy that i saw who drove this car must have been a civil servant because I lived in a civil servant town way back then. Wonder if a civil servant today can afford a ride like this now. |
oblo:oblo, what you said made me flashback to the 80s. Our neighbor used to have a Citreon with a hydropneumatic suspension that 'rose' after he started it. As kids, we also used to come outside to watch him start his car, see the lift, then watch him take off to work...those were the good ol' days. |
Installation of over-head tanks
. A return of N20m+ expected else i sack him.

that "elevated" every morning before he went out and went to "sleep" at night when he returned.
