michlins:
have you factored in the new number of people who registered just to vote in this election?

Have you factored in the effects of this currency swap issue. There will be no money to buy votes on the day of election.

The effects of the two scenarios above is that the people who registered for this election will vote whether given money or not. However the traditional voters who are willing to sell their votes initially will be reluctant to vote this time or forced to vote for their conscience.

Regardless, this is the most difficult election to predict and that's why everyone is working on overdrive to win

Hello man, new registered voters will vote enmasse for all the major contestants. It makes me laugh when I read that newly registered voters will vote for Obi only, I was involved in facilitating the registration of 81 voters in Akure. They are members of my church. I personally drove them to and fro registration points on 3 occassions with our church bus. The church driver drove them on 6 occassions before all of them could be registered and during collection of their PVC. The church mandated all members to register and vote for the candidate of their choice. Over 80% of these people that I know are going to vote for Asiwaju, at least I relate with them personally. So I laugh when people come here to gloat over new registered voters as if they know who they are voting for.

I also laugh when I hear that all christians in the southwest will vote against Asiwaju. Ekiti State is 90% christians, Peter Obi will not get 25% in Ekiti, mark my words.

Redesigned naira will affect all the candidates. I can assure you that Peter Obi will fail woefully in Benue State if he won't give shishi truly, I know what voting in that state entails. So if there's no money to buy votes as you said, it'll affect all candidates.

Imo is not battlefield. Labour will win here with problem.

Honestly I agree with you, Peter Obi will win in Imo State but Asiwaju will secure his 25% there. Remember that even Buhari got 25% in Imo State in 2019.

Asiwaju will win in Plateau State convincingly.

I am removing Kano and Rivers States from Asiwaju's projected wins, he will do extramely well in Kano if he did not win outright anyway, he will get nothing less than 25% in Rivers, mark my words.

So I will put Kano and Rivers States in the swing.

Let me place this on record here how the candidates will perform in the swing states

Plateau - Asiwaju convincingly with Peter Obi doing so well too

Bauchi - Atiku narrowly with Asiwaju doing so well. Peter Obi won't get 10% in Bauchi State.

Benue - Can go to either Asiwaju or Peter Obi, with Atiku coming 3rd.

Sokoto - Atiku narrowly with Asiwaju doing so well there. Peter Obi won't get 10% in Sokoto State

FCT - Atiku, Asiwaju, Peter Obi neck to neck. Many Christians in Abuja will favour Peter Obi, Civil servants will prefer Atiku (I am so sure of this), other voters will vote Asiwaju

Edo - Peter Obi may win narrowly with Atiku and Asiwaju trailing

Cross River - Asiwaju or Peter Obi with Atiku not doing badly

Imo - Peter Obi with Asiwaju and Atiku getting more than 25%

Kano- Kwankwaso or Asiwaju with Atiku not doing badly at all. Peter Obi won't get 10% in Kano State

Rivers - Peter Obi with Asiwaju getting his 25-35%. Atiku won'tdo so well in Rivers State

Giving tinubu false hope

Have you notice the way Asiwaju is carrying on with campaigns? Does he look like someone who is dwelling on false hope?

He is confident of winning and he expresses it everywhere.

I know this thread will never make it to front page because it isn't about Peter Obi, However, by the time the final results are released, we will have to come here to cross check again if this is actually false hope,

God let the confusion in APC and PDP continue until Obi become the president

Obi will never be president now, not in 2023. I don't know what happens in the future anyway.

Again, there is no confusion in Asiwaju's candidacy, it is Buhari, Emefiele and all their cabal members who are confused. People that matters in their party are with Asiwaju, Asiwaju took his destiny into his God and his hands even before APC primary, he will emerge victorious on February 25, 2023.

Buhari has used the party to achieve his ambition and thought dismantling it is the next thing to do but his most ardent supporters like Ganduje, El-Rufai etc have come out to reject the stupid policy!
There is no division in Asiwaju's party, its only Buhari who hqve divided himself from the party.

It's PDP Presidential candidate that's doing this o, meanwhile Atiku is supporting the CBN cash swap policy by making people to think its Asiwaju that is going to buy votes, his party candidate is seen telling us here that he'll induce voters with money.
Anyway, all Atikulated souls and Obi supporters can perish in the red sea if they choose to, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Asiwaju of Lagos, Jagaban Borgu and Agba-Akin of Ijeshaland is the next President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed forces of the federal Republic of Nigeria.

Politics / Do Age Relly Change People? by wwwkaycom(m): 11:53am On Feb 14, 2023
I read something similar to this my story on nairaland this morning.

I had this classmate while at the University, I attended university as a struggling student. I occasionally travels to Lagos to do all manners of menial jobs in those days to raise money for feeding and sundry expenses.
This guy lived off campus but will come around to stay with me in the hostel during exams and tests. He never for once bring food and e ate like a vampire in those days. He will finish the food I was managing for a whole month in just one weekend. It was because of him that I started buying foodstuffs in bits at that time, I'll buy one cup of rice and one cup of beans, mix together and do concoction. If he's there, we share it and eat, whever is there will eat and that's all. I stopped the idea of going to Lagos to hustle and using the money I realised to stockpile foodstuff during exams. This guy didn't ask me for once why I did it. He'll come, ask if there is food, once I say no, he'll buy big bread and eat. We graduated close to 20 years ago.
This guy is now in Edo State, working in an agric research institute. Anytime he has anything doing in Akure, he'll stay with me and my family. I trained my kids never to look for anything from anybody. This my guy has never deemed it fit to buy even 200 naira bread for my kids anytime he's visiting. He will come, eat, sleep, drive my car around to do his assignments in Akure, involving sometimes travelling to Ondo City and coming back. He won't fuel the car except he realised there is absolutely no fuel in it to take him around, he won't bother to take it to car wash to the extent that my very quiet but highly inquisitive wife started noticing his attitude. I stopped him from coming to stay with me immediately I relocated to my house ffom the former staff quarters I was living. I didn't allow him to know the place. Thankfully, I do consultancy job for some organizations that do take me out town from time to time.
He called me in November last year that he's in town, I told him straight I wasn't in town and that I've moved from staff quarters to my own apartment which a bit far from Akure main city. When I told him the name of the place, he said that place far o, why you go buy land for that place?
He hanged around with another friend twice and that one called me to ask how I've coped with him over these years. He said his wife said he shouldn't come to their apartment again. Akin married a no nonsence lady.
I have been pondering on whether age really changes a man. We were in the university during our 20s, today we are in our 40s and someone continue to grow worse in bad attitudes. Does age really changes someone?

Invite me as your man, I will send her out within 1 week. I will tell her to her face to leave or I tell you I'm cutting off the relationship because of her and you'll start pleading with me. She will vamoose.
I have had this experience before too, a guy who was my classmate at the University, the way I treated him, he won't even call me again.

Why won't Tinubu get those figures in Osun and Oyo? So Yoruba in opposition will leave their son and vote Atiku undecided
Asiwaju may not get more than 55% in Osun State, the present governor is doing all he could to undo him in Osun State meanwhile the likes of Omisore will save the day for Asiwaju especially in Ile-Ife/Ijesha axis. Those Oshogbo/Ede areas are angrily Atikulated but Asiwaju will carry the day
Politics / Re: Projection For The Election. My Own Take by wwwkaycom(m): 9:31am On Feb 14, 2023
Good analysis but you overrated Obi in many states. He won't get 20% in Ondo State. Again, in this 2023 election, Ondo is not a swing state. Ondo State went for Buhari in 2015 despite having a PDP governor but lost to PDP when it had APC governor in 2019. The 2019 scenario came up because of people's hatred for Buhari, feud between the Adams Oshiomole leadership of the APC and the state governor when Oshiomole did not allow the governor to impose his preferred candidates on the party. All the loyalists of the governor contested under AA and that led to splitting of APC votes, PDP became the real beneficiary. But this time, APC is united for Asiwaju in Ondo State, Asiwaju is Yoruba, There are places in Ondo North where you can't mention Atiku because of the merciless ways the fulani herdsmen have dealth with them, 70% of PDP big guns in Ondo State are with the former governor Mimiko who is an arrowhead of Wike's G5. For instance Agboola Ajayi who is contesting for senate in Ondo South is a loyalist of the former governor. So Asiwaju will get nothing less than 55-60% in Ondo State, PDP 30%, LP 10%.
LP can't defeat PDP in Bayelsa State, APC will get up to 40% in Rivers State.

With Shettima on the ballot alongside Tinubu (aka Bala Blu Bulaba), Peter Obi won't get 3% in Borno State. In 2019 when a Borno man was not on the ballot, even the now retiring political enigma Atiku did not get 25% in Borno.
Borno and Yobe are already *landlocked* for the Jagaban Africa.

Presidential: Jagaban Bola Ahmed Tinubu (aka Bala Blu Bulaba)

Senate: Chief Ifedayo Adedipe, SAN (Very cool-headed man)

House of Reps: Not decided yet. I don't like the PDP candidate Kemisola Adesanya but with her support for my Bala Blu Bulaba, she may get my vote.

Yoruba People if you make the mistake of voting Tinubu, it will be your greatest mistake. No one will hear your cry. Remember how they attacked a catholic church and killed over 50 people inside the church. Remember how they killed many of your people in Oyo and Ogun and chased Dem out of their lands before Igboho stepped in. Remember all the killings and kidnappings. If you vote for Tinubu and he wins, just prepare for another years of the most deadliest terrorist attacks because the VP has clearly stated it that he will handle security. This people can also put Tinubu out of the way to give Shetima full access.

Yoruba christians should wise up. Very very soon Yoruba christians will no longer have a say. Let's vote in somebody that we know our security is guaranteed and economy will be better. Forget tribe and do the right thing by voting for Peter Obi.

SW states also have other voters from other regions living within them and you can't completely rule out religious bias in voters decision. You are right when you said majority of westerners don't vote based on religion. The minority must be accounted for by the way.
The greatest disappointment Obi will get in the southwest is his and his followers belief that Asiwaju won't get the votes of christians in the zone, they will be shocked. There is a subtle campaigns in most religious houses (churches and mosques) in the SW and no one is talking about Obi. Yorubas will lean more to political affliations and ethnic sentiments this time than religious. Atiku will perform far better than Obi in all states of the southwest except may be Lagos. LP is virtually non-existent in most parts of SW. Most of the youth who are championing Obi's campaign in the zone are mostly on the social media. As a lecturer, I interviewed 25 of my students who are Obi's supporters last Friday, I found out that 7 of them did not register as a voter at all, 4 were yet to collect their PVC, 4 are registered in places where they can't go to vote on election day, only 10 said they will actually be voting for Obi by February 25. So I don't see Obi doing so well in the southwest. However, he'll perform better in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo than in Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States. Mark my words, Obi's worst performance in the southwest will be in Ekiti State. Tinubu will get more than 65% of total votes in Ekiti State
